ive been feeling pretty shit recently. 3000 ish words into something completely unrelated to the mass of different works in progress that i have which i don't think is turning out particularly good but after a month of doing fuck all im just sticking with it in the hopes of maybe getting some sort of half decent finished product. maybe that'll see the light of day, maybe it'll get tossed into the ever growing pile of abandoned google docs, who the hell knows. having a test every four school days on average is really fucking up everything, and that includes my writing schedule. hopefully i'll have some update soon. like, within the week. at least some rough unfinished product. for now, take this kinda fun paragraph

stephenson was always struggling. he could never quite get himself to make it out of his apple. he spent a long time there, not quite managing to build up the courage to go on an adventure. one day, he woke up invigorated. today would be the day. he wriggled his way outside of his long time home and inched towards the outside world. what would it be like? stephenson was nervous, but he was willing to face it all. he was ready.

approximately sixteen seconds later he was eaten alive by a bird, screaming and crying the entire time, his last thoughts filled with regrets and agony as he was chewed up, crushed and impaled all over.

Lets do a little group children's story together, it'll be like a cool collab, I'll go first: Once upon a time there was a little worm who lived in a biiig apple, his name was Stephenson and he had anxiety (aww)

writer's block is murdering me right now. haven't written anything new in four days which is my longest streak ever (derogatory) and every time ive tried to sit down and do something all i do is touch up one sentence and delete like six paragraphs because theyre moderately clunky and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

officially setting up a sort of description for my murder house wip now that it's survived the first three weeks without me ditching it

tone wise, it's a horror comedy with a comically detached protagonist who is just about completely unfazed by everything that happens even as said things become more elaborate, extreme, and horrible to comedic extents

our protagonist is jim, a fairly normal guy as long as you ignore the horrific abominations that always follow him around. he wakes up in an unknown house one day with six other people, all of which seem like perfect cannon fodder.

charlie: gay guy who is working on becoming a doctor and is constantly screaming his head off

emma: high out of her mind and not sure that anything that's happening is real or if it's just an elaborate escape room

ian: calm and collected about the whole thing to a suspicious degree. you expect someone to be a bit put off by otherworldly creatures trying to eat their skin

jonathan: on the run from the authorities and also very unfunny

amy: mental state as stable as a skyscraper with the bottom six floors torn out from under it

diego: so out of shape he can barely stand for more than fifteen minutes at a time

this ragtag group of completely arbitrarily chosen people are tasked with trying to escape without dying horribly. will they succeed? maybe, but saying it here would be spoilers

the way that I do it is to have something inspirational right next to you as you write, not like motivational quotes, like a book you really love or a tv show that you're into. then, whenever that motivation does, go look at whatever you choose for a few minutes until a funny line or really nice description that gives you an idea for what to write in the next line. repeat the process. it's slow as hell but it works pretty decent for me when the wells have run completely dry and no amount of wringing can get anything out.

saw this on the post and so i have to say that the animated series is still being developed! it's taken so long because there were a bunch of rights disputes over the characters from the show being used here and then the strikes happened but it is apparently still trucking along behind the scenes!
