you don’t have to have sex with anyone for the sake of ideology. Sex isn’t activism. it isn’t charity, a favor, or a duty. nobody “deserves” sex, nobody can be “owed” sex, and nobody requires sex to live. a lack of sex will not kill anyone.
“No” is a complete sentence. You don’t have to explain your reasons, and there is never, ever a bad or inadequate reason to say no. Saying no will never make you a bad person. Saying no is not evil. Saying no to sex is not an act of violence.

aging is such a tremendous privilege and I truly hope that I get the opportunity one day to be the funny wise old lady who spends my days gardening and is everybody’s grandma and gives young women good life advice. don’t ever fall into the “anti-aging” shit that is being pushed on women constantly, aging fucking rules and there are far too many who never get to experience it

I think it's important to acknowledge that though our generation (millennials and let's say for a lack of better word "zillennials") started seeing the shift toward a lot of gender/trans activism on social media, the generation after was brought into it without the feminism (as light as it could be) and for us that's normality. So many gen z lack feminist notions and repeat basic sexist patterns, it's concerning but it shows how there's also a parallel between the popularity of gender activism and the current general rejection of feminism (without necessarily saying it like that themselves, they don't admit that they are not feminists but their content, or lack of, speaks for itself). Gen z who actually see how sexist gender is are defying the new normal, questioning what's being fed to them, while not being familiar with what was before, that's how you know how intelligent they are.
And for those of us who did see the shift and didn't lose their critical thinking, yes it feels like the world is trying its best to be stupid in order to satisfy feelings. In the early 2010s yes feminism here and on internet as a whole was very much on surface but it was so much more bearable than its inexistence now. In fact it was fertile ground to become actual feminists if we were ready to put the work into it, enough to get us started, whereas now it seems like most as been replaced by a concept feminists have fought against forever (gender). The only recent jolt of feminism consciousness I've seen mainstream has been with the release of "Barbie" (dir. Greta Gerwig, 2023), which started some very needed conversations, but that's it.
if i was a feminist on tumblr in the early 2010s and witnessed the transition from the whole of tumblr hating gender, being ok with the man hating, being all ‘pizza rolls not gender roles”, centering bio women in their feminism & hating femininity & masculinity, to inventing 468547 more genders, claiming that gender is empowering, the patriarchy “hurts” men too, that femininity, plastic surgery & makeup is empowering to women & that feminism should include males, i think i would’ve killed everyone then myself

I'm confused by this post because "gendered categories for things" are like "boy toys" and "girl toys" that basically resume people and their interests to sexist stereotypes, so of course we don't need gendered categories. Or was that supposed to mean categories based on sex (safe spaces, competitions, etc) ? In which case yes those people contradict themselves.
people will be able to speak at length about why saying "i don't see color" isn't helpful and then turn around and say "why do we need gendered categories for things"

the exaggerated threat of “not like other girls” circling back to just vilifying women who don’t conform to femininity. but this time it’s #feminist to ridicule them bc they’re the real misogynists for not liking makeup and pink

hello! sorry, i know this ask box isn't for this stuff haha, but who's the painter of the lesbian version of The Kiss in ur header??? <333
It's okay, I didn't know either so I had to do some digging. The artist seems to be very quiet online like she scrubbed her pages, but I think it's by this woman named Alina Pratkin. A spanish article about lesbians cited the painting and her website (with dead end socials) still displays her artwork with the kiss on the front page, so I hope it's this woman and it's the best I found.
