i've seen it suggested that Vox is short for Voxel, which is sensible because its a computer graphics term, but it also wasn't coined until about 1990 or so, which means Vox would have been going by something entirely different until the 90's, which is possible, but a weird rebrand as an established overlord. so I would like to propose an alternative: Vox is short for Video Box
