[Little sebaciel warm up I did in a live-write session the other day on discord. Prompt from @lizziesgf: mercy kill through suffocation. TW: death (albeit poetic and vague)]

And here he lies, within the confines of his sculpted throne turned death bed. Weak. No, delicate. Such has always been the state of my master. In need and inevitable want. Never satisfied, only glowering and gluttonous, fingers spread apart as far as his legs, wanting, begging, gasping...

And I, the servant, am always there to provide. To give, to clothe, to feed, to please.

And now, as his breaths stutter and his chest fills with impurities, he calls out for me. In a state such as this, even, he thinks to hold tight to his true damnation.

I suppose that is what comes from never obtaining a crown you dedicate your life to. Losing all of your chess pieces. Selling your soul to the Devil.

His skin is so warm now for a mortal and I've never wanted more than to rip the flesh from his bones to make room for this bloodied curse I shall bestow on his very existence.

So quick to pass judgment, to play God. And yet, you have fallen at the foot of your own throne.

Your suffering pierces my stale absence of beating organs and I can conjure up the idea of what it'd be like, what it'd feel like, to...

It sits upon your lips like the bitter chocolate you'd sneak from the cupboard. I can taste it there, softly, gently.

My precious Lord...

Are you suffering?

The hummingbird that flutters throughout your rib cage wants to be freed.

Your lungs sound like grated metal and the skin over your eyes is glazed over with a boysenberry tint. Cheeks, damp with pain. Skin, flush with fever. My broken little master...

Allow me to deliver you.

With the palms of my hands and the black of my nails, please... allow me.

Your body hardly spasms beneath me. And though your eyes flutter open in surprise, in terror, I am here. I am here for you, so hush now.

Be it because of the blaze in my conjured bones or the fire you set upon the void of my very soul, I shall deliver you, Ciel Phantomhive.

And though you claw and cry out beneath my grasp, I will make sure you will never suffer again. Make sure you never take another agonizing breath in this miserable life you've had the displeasure of gracing.

I’m back after checks notes WHAT, FOUR MONTHS?! I’m so sorry. Both this chapter and I needed the time, though. Some people have asked me whether there will ever be a chapter from Sebastian’s perspective. To them, I say: Here you go.

Wow when you think it could't get better, there you were with an amazing new part. Wow, I was so eager to read that I nearly skipped passages. Again, wow, you structure and style of writing is one of the best I have ever read, not just in the fan fiction universe. OH you’re so welcome hgkdfj thanks for your lovely message! @sinnergism and I have really enjoyed writing it so far, and we do have plans to continue it, even if the pace of updates is a bit slower in the future. It was fun experimenting with the texting format and breaking some narrative rules! Building the dynamic has been an exciting process. And, of course, smut ^^

Ahh I’m glad you’re enjoying it!

We went for a classic MBTI pairing, ENTP for the Professor and INTJ for Ciel. Sometimes they clash and sometimes they complement each other beautifully... Actually this is what I generally imagine Sebastian and Ciel as; it’s one of my favourite fictional MBTI dynamics! And I think @sinnergism feels the same way xDD

Ohhhh, that’s an interesting ask, Anon! I’m personally really excited about it as I’m a big MBTI nerd (and Jungian psychology in general). Professor Michaelis is being written with an ENTP personality type in mind. Canon Sebastian probably isn’t one; his butler persona is too meticulous and conscientious to fit the type, and it’s probably a silly idea to try to type a supernatural being like him in the first place. 

But for AU Sebastians, I looooove the ENTP type because it allows me to play up the parts of his characters that I enjoy the most: his creativity, his coolly detached analyses, his trolling, his playfulness. 

Sooo his cognitive stack is Ne - Ti - Fe - Si. Which might sound like gibberish to you if you’re not that deep into MBTI (not sure I’d recommend it :D).

His leading Ne (extroverted intuition) makes him able to see things from all sides and explore them from all sides (and makes him jump around from topic to topic easily, delighting and frustrating his students). I really enjoy getting more into his thought process, which is governed by Ti (that second function in his stack -- short for introverted thinking). Sebastian likes to fully explore every part of a system and bring it together in his mind as a cohesive whole, which is why he loves to tinker on his bike and write mechanical diagrams. His extroverted feeling (Fe) in third slot makes him quite adept at reading a room and figuring out how Ciel is feeling. 

His inferior function is Si -- introverted sensing -- and it’s associated with many of his weaknesses, which are things like problems with commitment, detail-orientation, and conscientiousness. When things are boring, he can’t force himself to pay attention -- Ciel is actually the more conscientious one, and more responsible in many ways. They don’t know that yet, but they will :) As an extroverted intuitive, Ciel’s intuitive introversion is very attractive to Sebastian, as it gives him space to expand and lead the interaction.

I find that keeping the cognitive profile in mind makes it easier for me to write multi-faceted characters, so thanks again for asking this question! (BTW, my Sebastian in my other fic, Coffee & Cigarettes, is also very much an ENTP, though a slightly more flamboyant one :D). xx
