since covid started, i have been keeping a list of a bunch of the wild, out of context things my family has said.

meet arrow and the aces!

in order of appearance we have: arrow, diamond, club, heart, and spade. so far, only club and spade have names: grace and mercedes.

arrow is ghanian, second generation immigrant. diamond is native american, unsure what tribe yet but i will research that later. club is mixed, african american and chinese. heart is egyptian. spade is filipina. very proud to be creating a main cast of lgbtq+ poc characters.

(originally i only drew diamond but then i spun the others around the brain microwave and well. you see what happened.)

alright kids, funky new (recently remembered) story idea:

birch and birdy: partners in crime

original idea is from a few years ago, but i recently updated their looks and they've been living in my head rent free ever since.

first thing they do upon learning they're working together is make a deal that they're partners in crime and crime alone. obviously, that doesn't go as planned. they're evil losers in love. they were specifically paired together bc their handlers shipped them.

birdy left, birch right. the arrow pointing at birdy says "set 37 new things on fire at 4am," and birch's arrow says "just woke up to this." bottom right: birch-"do i want to know?" birdy- "we no longer have a kitchen ^-^"

Look, if I introduced a WIP on here excitedly and then promptly never mentioned it again, it doesn’t mean I’m not working on it, it means I’m slowly rotating it in my mind like a rotisserie chicken and then went out to the grocery store to buy several other rotisserie chickens while I wait for it to cook and then slowly started rotating those rotisserie chickens and repeat

a black vampire who's lived in america for centuries. a black vampire who's lived too damn long as a black person in america, who's been through hundreds of years of oppression and came out of it alive. knowing they would live through the next thing, and the next, and everything after that, and still come out of it a black person in america.

it has been Too Long since i last talked about arrow and the aces but i swear there's a good reason* and i apologize for that.

(*i got really distracted and forgot that this was a thing i was doing, and when i did remember was during Homework Times™ or other busy moments.)

i never did finish the concept art (and i was really excited about it too...) but i attempted some character profiles! (is that what they're called?? who knows, certainly not me.) they aren't complete yet but yeah here

if you have any name or location ideas i would love to hear them!

i may or may not also be working on songs for this??? not sure when/if they'll get done but i will absolutely update if they do. (and for anyone wondering about concept art... we will get to the eventually, but i am very busy and, as stated in my name, really sleepy)

update: i got out and washed my hands!

new problem: may or may not have dropped a cup of black paint on the floor?? it landed upright but it still splattered and uh. got only on the places i don't have stuff laid out...

it's clean(?) now but. there are black paint spots on the desk and my hands and the floor and did i mention this is a dorm room??
