This ridiculously adorable little cat came in to my vet clinic to be spayed this week and I got the BEST picture while she was there 🤣

#anytime you said her name shed perk up and talk back at you #and i definitely spent most of the day plotting a kidnapping #this picture still cracks me up every time i see it #cat

It is an incredible gift to still have your childhood pet at 27 years old.

For Wylie, my baby warrior kitty who refused to be an indoor cat, who battled raccoons, foxes, and terrorized every other neighborhood cat, who always came running if I whistled - but only if it was Fiddler on the Roof - to my cranky old man who loved to sit outside in the sun with me, rode in my lap during car rides, and graciously let Merle sleep in his heated bed with him.

Last night we sat outside to watch the sun set and ate barbecue and cantaloupe. My final gift was letting him go peacefully after 22 years of an amazing life. Rest in peace baby kitty, thank you for always being here ❤️

Always late to work? Start your mornings by getting up and feeding the cat breakfast first thing and you'll never sleep through an alarm again (whether you want to or not). Do not expect the cat to comprehend things like "weekends" or "holidays." In time you'll master the art of hauling yourself out of bed at 5am on a Saturday and zombie walking to give your furry tyrant breakfast before returning to bed all while still remaining mostly asleep.

It can be difficult to understand just how routine-oriented cats can be if you’ve never owned one. If my oven timer goes off and I’m slow responding to it, my cats will run and fetch me and lead me right to it, because the beepy thing means the human is supposed to go into the kitchen, and are they the only ones around here who give a damn about the Rules?

A serious contender for the title of Cutest Puppy I've Ever Seen: this 10wk old Cock-a-Poo. There's just something about adding a little Spaniel that makes for the most adorable, happy go lucky puppies.

While walking the dog yesterday, we found the tracks of a pack of wolves that had passed across the edge of our property. (I live out in the highway in Alaska.) I took a picture of my hand next to a wolf track for comparison. 

Now here’s a picture of my hand with one of our dog’s tracks:

And he’s not an especially small dog; he’s a 55-lb retriever mix.

I love working at a vet clinic because this is literally THE cutest puppy I have ever seen in my entire life. I'm so not a fan of the wildly expensive designer doodly things we've been seeing a lot of lately, but this adorable little creature is a Cocker Spaniel/Golden Retriever and it seems like he has the sweet, soft, lovely Golden temperament but with the adorable spaniel face and ears. And he's SO SOFT

A visitor came into my workplace with a bathroom emergency and asked me if I would look after her huge dog while she was otherwise occupied. I said yes, and when she came back from the bathroom, she found me flat on my back pinned to the floor while her enormous and needy Newfoundland sat on my chest and refused to budge.
