Oh the latest episode of your favourite show just dropped? Cool, I bet someone else really like it too. Maybe they haven't had a chance to watch it in the 10 minutes it's been available to watch. Maybe it's not available in their country yet.
Oh the latest chapter of your favourite manga was leaked in Japanese. Here's a wild thought DON'T POST SPOILERS. Not everyone has access to the raws. Not everyone understands Japanese and has to wait for a couple days for the fan translation. Some people even like to wait for official release in their native language.
I'm sick of it. It's part of the reason I gave up on bnha (small part but still). For literal decades the one piece community has understood not everyone is up to date with the manga. It takes a long time to get through hundreds of chapters, it's exhausting to read week to week after a while. When I first caught up with the anime and then the manga it was towards the end of Fishman island, I had zero spoilers for literally any of it, I got to experience this beautiful piece of fiction first hand, AND I WAS ALSO IN THE FANDOM. Not anymore.
These days I've noticed the trend with popular anime the trend of assuming that everyone is either reading the raws or don't care about spoilers. Every day I spend invested in a fandom that I think I am up to date with is a day the leaks of the latest chapter is dropped. And so many people post significant panels.
Posting panels or clips or even cosplays of specific events with just a flash of *spoilers for X* covering literally nothing, is not tagging spoilers.
Posting panels from the manga chapter that was leaked 5 minutes ago and hasn't even been fan-translated above a cut, tagging isn't enough. I've seen the spoiler before I can see the tag. You can't black list every possible tag for specific chapters without blocking the entire fucking Fandom you want to interact with.
I don't want to experience One Piece the same way I experienced the last 2 seasons of Game of Thrones.

Ok so I want to address something that I've been noticing lately.
So for context, I'm an AFAB nonbinary who has not made much effort towards androgyny and feels little need to.
In my years of cosplaying I've done costumes for several male characters. It's been only recently that I've felt comfortable enough with my knowledge of how, that I've started binding in order to cosplay the characters as they are portrayed in their respective media, male, instead of essentially gender bending them.
However, I've noticed that no matter how obviously or not I bind I have people using she/her pronouns, or, as what happened today, look at my chest where I had obviously made an attempt to tape bind for an open shirt cosplay and go "oh! You're female!zoro". He then proceeded to ask for a photo which made me hella uncomfortable, but that's besides the point.
My point is, if someone is clearly binding, even for a costume, perhaps stop and consider the fact that they're binding might indicate that they are trying to portray a character not of their own assigned gender, they may not infact be the "female version".
TL;DR I still get misgendered even when I'm openly binding for male characters, and doing my best to pass as masculine. Androgyny is hard. Please stop and think, is cosplay the only reason someone has to bind?
My second piece for @sixthwheelzine !!! It was for the pdf extra, so once again thank you to everyone who decided to spend a couple bucks more and get that too! 💕
I don't know what it's like at other universities, but most of the time I can find it in the uni library's online sources where they have access rights to one version of the paper or another. So I use google scholar to find papers and if I can't access them I'll copy the title and author into the library search bar and get access through there.
