Jim grips the fabric of his pants. “Come on, Bones.”

The planet visible on the viewscreen is blue like home. Even now, Jim feels the wave of longing, but it’s quickly drowned by dread and worry.

“Two minutes to the eruption,” Spock says, and Jim holds himself back from snapping.

McCoy’s still on the surface! Doesn’t Spock care?

Uhura’s urgent calls for “Doctor McCoy” are the only sound on the bridge.

“One minute.”

Jim stands, fists clenched, seeing nothing but blue.

A noise in the intercom. “Enterprise?” McCoy. “Three to beam up.”

Jim exhales in relief.

Dunno if you'll see this anon, but I wanted to share a snippet with you! It's not very long (everything else was critical moments that I don't want to share just yet lol), but i hope you enjoy it!

His dreams are full of memories that aren’t his, of a father who isn’t his, of a daughter who isn’t his, of a life and work and experiences that aren’t his. But in the dreams, he can’t tell that. In the dreams, he feels the agony of killing his father like it is his own; he feels the bone-aching sorrow of being estranged from his daughter like it is his own. He feels the pain of his divorce and the pride in his work and the fondness for Jim and Spock and none of it is his.

Welcome to McKirk Week 2024!

Held from 20th – 26th May, McKirk Week is a creation event focused on the Kirk/McCoy pairing, across all universes. 

HOW IT WORKS: 

There are three prompt lists – Trek, Gen, and NSFW. Trek are prompts based on the Star Trek universe, Gen are general prompts and tropes, and NSFW are of course the NSFW prompts. You’re welcome to pick from any prompt list (or even combine a few), and you can fill as many or as few prompts as you fancy.

Your creations can be any form of media: art, fic, edits, videos, web weaves, memes, playlists, fic rec lists, cosplay… the list goes on! As long as you can make it McKirk, it counts.

And on that note: this is a McKirk event so McKirk should be the main pairing in your works. Background ships, side pairings, and poly ships are okay as long as Kirk and McCoy are the focus.
