@demcngeneral asked: " i found you unconscious on my doorstep. "
Tumblr media
That actually made a lot of sense, and truthfully, Feng Wu didn’t like that it made a lot of sense.
While she couldn’t remember exactly what had happened, she did know that she hadn’t been in the right state to make it out of town, never mind to her destination. Even thought there was a little piece of her mind that reminded her that she was going to be safest if she got the hell out of town, her limbs still hurt. Feng Wu might have been determined but she wasn’t stupid.
Tumblr media
“Um…” Arms pushed her up, at least so she was sitting up, even if she had to close her eyes for just a moment. The world seemed to be spinning ever so slightly, and her joints ached, whatever it was that had happened, Feng Wu was pretty sure she’d been in a fight. “Right.”
Wow.
This was awkward. Really fucking awkward. Ugh. She hated her own awkwardness.
“Thank you I guess for not just….leaving me on the street.” That would have sucked measurably more than this. Though, it was rare help was given willingly, or without expectation…at least in her experience. She had a sneaking suspicion that she was going to have limited time to pull herself together before the shit hit the fan again, especially when she had nothing to offer in return. “I…” Maybe she shouldn't be upfront about that sure it was technically a lie but she was kinda desperate right now. Feng Wu would make it up to them one day, she promised herself that, but right now all she could offer was that, “I don’t really…remember how I got there.”

A Love So Beautiful
Tumblr media
Can the pure love of 17-year-olds endure through all the challenges of college and adulthood?
Chen Xiao Xi and Jiang Chen are high school friends and neighbors who grew up together. Xiao Xi is happy-go-lucky and doesn’t like to study much but she has a talent for drawing. Jiang Chen is popular for his good looks and high grades, but is cold and indifferent to other people.
Their friends include swimmer Wu Bo Song, who will do anything for XiaoXi, the dorky and over-confident gamer Lu Yang, and Lin Jing Xiao, the most beautiful girl in school (who Lu Yang is hopelessly in love with).
How will the realities of life shape the friendships and love lives of these young adults?

Ashes of Love // Heavy Sweetness, Ash-Like Frost
Tumblr media
Jin Mi is the secret lovechild of the Flower Deity and the Water Immortal, conceived before the Flower Deity suffers a fatal wound.
The deity gives birth to a baby girl (Jin Mi) on her deathbed, and foresees the infant will face a terrible trial by her 10,000th year. To save her from her fate, the Flower Deity gives Jin Mi a pill that makes it impossible for her to ever feel romantic love. Upon her death, she forbids anyone in the Flower Kingdom from revealing the fact that she had a child.
Several thousand years later, Jin Mi is a bumbling little fairy trapped in The Water Mirror- a gilded prison where low-level fairies can live in peace. Jin Mi believes she is a small Grape Fairy, and lives a happy (if not dull) life within the Mirror with her friends.
When a charred bird falls from the heavens into the Water Mirror, Jin Mi decides to eat save the poor little ‘crow’– who in reality is Xu Feng, the mighty phoenix son of the Heavenly Emperor. Her decision to not eat save the Fire God will put them at the heart of plots and schemes, romances and adventures spanning the Flower Kingdom, Heavenly Realm, Demon Kingdom, and the Realm of Mortals.

Dance of the Phoenix
Tumblr media
Feng Wu, a former genius girl in the Junwu Continent, was attacked by her old enemy Zuo Qingluan. In the attack, she lost not only her memories and abilities, but her “phoenix blood” which made her powerful.
In order to save Feng Wu her secret tutor, Master Mu Jiuzhou (a hero thought long dead whose soul is bound inside a ring Feng Wu wears around her neck), exhausted his vitality and fell into a deep coma.
The forces Master Mu Jiuzhou were trying to keep at bay are roiling again, readying for war unless Feng Wu can recover her memories, her power, and survive long enough to release him from the ring.
But if Feng Wu at full power couldn’t stop the evil Zhuo Qingluan’s attack and save herself, what chance does “normal person” Feng Wu have?

Douluo Continent
Tumblr media
Tang San is a hardworking and kind young man who was raised by his single father to be a blacksmith to a small village. His demanding father taught him secret techniques and cultivated unknown abilities while refusing to ever allow him to enter the world of the Soul Masters- heroes who use their inner power to defeat monstrous Soul Beasts and collect their power.
One day, Tang San is attacked in the woods by a fearsome Soul Spider and uses his special techniques to survive, drawing the eye of a nearby Soul Master. The man tests Tang San and discovers that while his Soul Spirit takes the utterly useless form of a common weed (as opposed to say a lion or a wolf), he harbors extreme untapped power and potential.
What only Tang San and his father know is that Tang San is a rare Twin-Soul, in possession of not one Soul Spirit- the Blue Grass- but a second extraordinarily rare weapon spirit capable of being wielded either against foes or in protection of innocents.
Unable to deny Tang San the ability to learn to control his power, his father allows him to leave the protection of the village and embark on a journey to develop his powers and perhaps learn the truth of his parentage.
On his journey Tang San will be joined by the mysterious and naïve Xiao Wu- a seemingly unstoppable and optimistic girl with a rabbit as her Soul Spirit and the ability to absorb the life force of Soul Beasts. They are led by a disgraced Soul Master in Training, Yu Xiao Gang, who was disregarded as a janitor all while studying Soul Masters and developing his own radical theories as to the nature of their power.
Tang San, Xiao Wu, Yu Xiao Gang, and the other friends they meet along the way will become a famous team of heroes known as the “Seven Devils of Shrek Academy”, and be drawn into an imperial struggle for power that threatens to consume their entire continent.
Tang San appears to the world as the master of the Silver Grass Spirit, but once that same world realizes the might of the Weapon Spirit he keeps hidden, he will have to fight with everything he has in order to protect what he holds dear.

Tumblr media
Bai Qi is a “spiritual doctor” who travels the world to rid spirits of their obsessions and stop them from becoming monsters. Isolated from the world and alone with a sprig of his lost love’s peach tree, Bai Qi meets the sunny but hapless actress Lin Xia. Not only does the tree come to life in her presence- and not only can she use the tools left behind by his lost lover- she also has the same face.
Curious, Bai Qi enters into a co-habitation agreement with Lin Xia and she helps him cleanse souls before they can turn into Evil Spirits. As their lives intersect, a memory that Bai Qi sealed away for over ten thousand years begins to surface.

Handsome Siblings (2020 Netflix Edition)
Tumblr media
Hua Wuque is a pillar of righteousness and virtue, the only male disciple of the powerful Yihua Palace cultivation clan. An orphan, he was taken in by the clan leader and her sister and raised with only one goal in life: to find and kill Jiang Xiaoyu, a mighty villain and enemy of Yihua Palace.
So who is Jiang Xiaoyu? Also known as Xiaoyu’er, Jiang Xiaoyu is an orphan himself- the same age as Hua Wuque in fact- raised by the five most feared and hated villains in the world within the confines of the Wicked Canyon. Into Jiang Xiaoyu the villains poured their knowledge, tricks, and ruthlessness, seeking to create the ultimate villain. There is only one problem: As he was raised in the Wicked Canyon and surrounded by nothing but villains, Jiang Xiaoyu mostly uses his abilities to… harm villains and protect the weak.
When Jiang Xiaoyu comes of age and leaves the Wicked Canyon (or rather, becomes too much of a trickster for the villains to handle anymore), Hua Wuque is unleashed to venture from Yihua Palace and hunt down his enemy.
But how could someone kept confined in the Wicked Canyon for the first 18 years of his life be a threat to Yihua Palace? And why must Hua Wuque be the one to kill him (under direction that Jiang Xiaoyu cannot die naturally, be killed by someone else, or kill himself)?
There is a piece of the story Jiang Xiaoyu and Hua Wuque do not know: they are orphans of the same tragedy, in which the divine hero Jiang Feng spurned the love of both leaders of Yihua Palace for a beautiful servant named Hua Yuenu. Hua Yuenu was forced to commit suicide and Jiang Feng killed himself rather than submit to the Ladies of Yihua–
Leaving behind newborn (non-identical) twin sons.
Yihua Palace’s plot is a simple (if OTT) act of vengeance against Jiang Feng’s memory:: Force one brother to murder the other, then reveal to Hua Wuque the sin he has committed and let it drive the boy insane.
Will the truth come out before Wuque finds and kills Xiaoyu, or will the evil Ladies of Yihua Palace finally have the vengeance they have waited for for over 18 years? As Wuque and Xiaoyu’s paths cross more and more they strike up an unlikely friendship, even knowing there is no escaping their dark fate.
**Trigger Warning: Later episodes include off-camera sexual assault and on-camera depictions of near-rape.**

Hi My Sweetheart
Tumblr media
Xue Hai is a kindhearted (and extremely wealthy) but naïve man who has been sheltered by his big sisters his entire life. He decides to go to college in China- where no one knows him- under the name Da Lang and with the image of a poor scholarship student. There Xue Hai meets the dominant, friendless, and rebellious Bao Zhu. Naturally the two fall in love, but after 4 years together, just as he’s going to reveal his identity and propose, Bao Zhu viciously dumps him.
Fast forward three more years. Xue Hai has transformed himself into a handsome but ruthless playboy who treats women as nothing more than toys to be used and cast aside. When he chances across Bao Zhu once more, he decides to launch a campaign to destroy her heart as thoroughly and mercilessly as she did his.
Except Xue Hai is missing one important piece of their love story: Bao Zhu only left him to protect him from her domineering mother, and she has been searching for her beloved Da Lang ever since.

The Lost Tomb**
Tumblr media
50 years ago, a group of Changsha grave robbers known as the “Mystic Nine” dug out manuscripts of the location of treasures from the Warring States period, but soon after almost the entire group was hunted down and slaughtered.
In the present, the young grandchild of the sole survivor, Wu Xie, discovers a secret within his grandfather’s notes as well as half of a silk manuscript that may reveal the location of the lost tomb. But there is one problem- the other half of the manuscript is held by a shady organization of tomb raiders eager to break in and steal whatever cultural relics are inside the tomb.
Wu Xie has a “National Treasure” moment and decides that in order to stop the objects in the tomb from vanishing into the black market he will break in first and recover whatever is inside (’I’m going to steal the Declaration of Independence…’).
Wu Xie is helped on his journey by his beloved “Third Uncle” Wu Sanxing, his uncle’s right hand man Panzi, and the mysterious Xiao Ge - a tomb raider who seems to know of traps before they are sprung and whose hand has been mutilated in a way not seen among tomb robbing families in over a century.
They expected to find a lost tomb, perhaps chase away some thieves, and learn about an exciting piece of lost history. What they did not expect was for the tomb to strike back, the dead to rise, and the past to fight and keep what secrets it holds.
Who exactly are this alternate group of tomb robbers? What are they searching for? What exactly is protecting the tomb? Whose side is Xiao Ge truly on? And- most crucially- can Wu Xie survive long enough to find the answers?

Little does Wei-Wei know that Yixiao Naihe is also her college senior and the most desired man on campus, Xiao Nai.
Will their online chemistry lead to a real-life romance? Yes. Of course it will. It’s in the title.

Oh My Emperor
Tumblr media
Fei-Fei, a young doctor, is wounded in an accident and finds herself trapped in the ancient and mystical nation of Huang Dao. The people of Huang Dao are ruled by a king born of the stars- the physical embodiment of one of the twelve zodiac constellations. To keep discord from arising among the people, the Twelve Zodiac Masters govern together to keep the peace.
But a thirteenth sign has been forcibly subjugated, it’s Lord executed, and its people scattered to the wind. The lost sign- Ophiuchus- is rising once more- and Fei-Fei is its (unwilling) Master.
It only complicates matters slightly that Fei-Fei finds herself between the handsome and charming Master of Aquarius and his nephew- the cold Master of Capricorn (who is also the Emperor). Can Fei-Fei keep her identity secret long enough to solve the mystery of the Ophiuchus purge- or is Huang Dao doomed to destruction?
**This drama is a showpiece for members of the Chinese pop group X-Nine, do not judge it by the same standards as a traditional drama. Showpiece dramas tend to be a bit silly.

Reunion: The Sound of the Providence**
Tumblr media
Wu Xie, “Fatty” Wang Pangzi, and the quasi-immortal tomb raider Xiao Ge (AKA Zheng Qiling, Kylin, and “Poker Face”) have faced many dangerous tombs together over the past twelve years.
Now, it is time for them to go on their last great adventure as the so-called “Iron Triangle” before Wu Xie sets off on the journey all must eventually make: death. He always thought his end would come in a dangerous tomb, but instead it will be lung cancer that claims his life. With only 3-4 months left to live, Wu Xie hides the truth of his illness from his friends and family, revealing the truth only to Xiao Ge.
Once upon a time, Wu Xie was told that when a man meets his death he must do so with a clear conscience. But something has been weighing on Wu Xie- his Third Uncle’s disappearance at the end of their first adventure. Right on time, a message from his long lost uncle appears, setting Wu Xie on a desperate mission to find him before the cancer eating away at his body destroys him at last.
This will most likely be Wu Xie’s final journey, but he will do anything in his power to make sure his friends and family will be safe long after his time is up. In the final 3-4 months of Wu Xie’s life he will seek to unravel the mystery of the “Thunder City”- starting with the most dangerous tomb he’s ever explored, The South Sea King’s Tomb.
The sound of thunder hides a secret men have killed for, but is there really a way to hear the words of gods within it? Someone clearly thought so, but who? Is Uncle Sanxing still alive, or is someone in the shadows guiding Wu Xie to them?
Wu Xie’s enemies thought he was dangerous before, but now he is a dying man with a mission. There is no telling what lengths he will go to in order to achieve his goals. He might just manage to die in a tomb after all…

The only way for Xiao Qian to return to this world is to survive the story, but in keeping herself alive longer the script begins to change, and Han Shuo begins to fall in love with the wrong person.

HWQ and YX?
(send me qzgs chars and i’ll write something)
Anyone else would have felt awkwardly out of place, a man in black amidst a sea of red, but Han Wenqing was never one to care about such things.
“Han Wenqing, Captain of Tyranny,” he said, introducing himself politely as he scanned the faces before him. “Is Ye Qiu here?”
“I’m afraid not,” one of them replied, stepping forward with a light smile. Han Wenqing recognized the voice an instant before the man introduced himself. “Wu Xuefeng, Vice-captain of Excellent Era. Our captain usually goes onstage beforehand to avoid the cameras.”
“I see,” said Han Wenqing. He gave one last look around, but there was really no reason to linger here, now. He’d just been curious, despite himself, to see the true appearance of the user of One Autumn Leaf. “See you onstage, then.”
Han Wenqing couldn’t help but feel a faint twinge of disappointment. But fortunately for him, his chance came after the match, when he led his defeated team back down the player passageways, and saw a figure in red, casually smoking a cigarette, waiting for him.
“Brother Feng tells me you were just so desperate to see me in the flesh, so I’m here to find you,” he said, smirking up at Han Wenqing. “How does it feel to lose, again?”
“Ye Qiu,” growled Tyranny’s captain. The other team members instinctively flinched back at his menacing aura, but Ye Qiu seemed immune.
“Oh well, too bad, so sad, see you next time.” Ye Qiu blew a small cloud of smoke in his face. “Have I mentioned that you look exactly like what I expected?”
One of the Tyranny members nearly fainted.
“And you are even more annoying in real life,” said Han Wenqing, brushing past him. God, this guy was giving him a headache. “See you next match,” he said shortly.
After they all left, Ye Xiu stood alone in the passageway, and laughed and laughed.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEpl4-1enpA&t=13s
Lost Love In Times (July) -- Finally, an LSS drama since forever! Shi Shi portrays Feng Qincheng, a sorceress of a secret organization who practices dark magic and is involved in this forbidden love with to-be-emperor Prince Yuan Ling (I’m too lazy to check lol) (William Chan). Also hi Xu Hai Qiao, Han Dong (BBJX’s 9th), Liu Yu Jin (NiF’s Xie Yu), Tang Jingmei (Glory’s Cui Caiping), etc.
Legend of Dugu (”Summer 2017″) -- So there are actually two upcoming dramas revolving around Empress Dugu and her emperor husband, whom she convinced to not commit polygamy and etc. during the Sui Dynasty, this one and the one with Joe Chen and Chen Xiao. Initially I figured I would only watch that one because Joe Chen and Chen Xiao, but judging from the stills and promos so far, I’m actually more inclined towards this one now. Famous love story aside, this one also focuses on the three Dugu sisters, two of whom marry into the royal family and etc., there’s also this whole “prophecy for the throne” and political aspect not all that unlike NiF or Glory. I’ve seen Hu Bingqing in Whirlwind Girl with Yang Yang and she was . . . fine . . . and for me the most familiar person in this production is Ady An. More info here.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWm_bKjd1SI&t=123s
Peace in Palace, Peace in Chang’an (tbh probs not this summer/maybe even next year) -- I’m actually not quite sure on this one. Initially I was interested because I thought it would star Qin Jun Jie AND Shu Chang as like the OTP and all (lmao I just wanted it for catharsis after Li Tan and Lin Zhi shred my heart into a billion pieces), but the trailer is all POLITICS POLITICS WAR THRONE COURT MINISTERS MEN and while I consider Qin Jun Jie a good actor, I found him a bit awkward/out of place as Li Shimin? Like I legit swooned over Han Dong’s character a bit, even though he’s on the opposing faction? Should I watch for people opposing Taizong? Also I counted a total of three women in the trailer, and Shu Chang’s char, who is like the main female lead, was there for like a total of maybe 3 seconds. SMH. With the actors and production team involved I guess I can sort of see this as a prequel to Glory of Tang -- this is how the Tang Dynasty actually attained “glory”, while Glory is about almost losing said glory, ha! But more info here.

Tribes and Empires: Storm of Prophecy
The Fated General
Oh My General -- Even though I’ve technically only seen Peter Sheng in Go Princess Go, I’m rather close to shunning his dramas. But we’ll see how this one goes.
A Step Into The Past (most recent remake) -- Because Chen Xiang is pretty? But also I’ve skipped out on a lot his shows, and the shows I’ve seen him in weren’t . . . that . . . great . . . though I think he’s a pretty solid actor. The trailer is meh lol.

Spindle: I was gazing at the skies overnight through our room's window. Two things were obvious: it's light-polluted and it's cloudy. All the colours used could be counted on two hooves.
For me this is a little saddening, since windigos use the stars as navigation on long-distance voyages, much like sailors and migratory animals. One of the reasons I accepted Parcly as a friend was her love of astronomy and astrophysics, a love she keeps strong through regular visits to the Purple Space Observatory she commissioned at the summit of Canterlot's mountain. With light pollution this bad or clouds this thick, we have to ascend to the stratosphere for good views of the celestial sphere, which takes a small but significant portion of our time and energy.
Parcly Taxel: In my hometown of Canterlot, Luna wishes me every sunset to clear its clouds, unless the weather forecast calls for rain or thunderstorms. When she raises the night, constellations and galaxies then stand in their clearest from a suitable viewpoint. I consider my cloud-sweeping a royal duty, even though I'm not wishbound.
In contrast, the ruler of China proper – a serpentine dragon around one kilometre long – is responsible for breathing out every cloud that rolls over the land. Given the vast expanse of his domain and centralised authority, it is almost inevitable that clouds will cross into Hong Kong, and the local population doesn't care about it for the most part.
Spindle: How did my leadoff passage go?
Parcly: You did great! Right, what was for breakfast?
Spindle: Once again, we went to the Chrisly Café for that. Because it was a Monday, there were zero ponies waiting outside and we got our reservation in a minute. Conversely, along the way we saw more taxis shuttling passengers to work and neat lines at branches of the principal banks – the financial sector prioritised on weekdays and the retail sector on weekends, a key rhythm in the city. In the mood for something other than macaroni and ham, we ordered the full monty of corn, baked beans, egg and hashbrown with toast and bacon. She was definitely fuller than last time and grinning to the ends of her face, so I had a flurry of emotions to feed on.
Rarity: Do you know how mad Hong Kong is on jewellery? Have you talked about it yet?
Parcly: No? I know there's Lukfook and Chow Tai Fook in many places, in addition to a host of smaller shops scattered like confetti, but I must say that I'm not a fashionista genie. I prefer to dress simply, just a horn ring everywhere and the extra ornaments in Saddle Arabia.
Resting for a while in Langham Place, I saw how it and fellow shopping centres were flooded with shoppers (some of them in school uniforms, I hasten to add) within minutes of opening their doors, contrasting with the street markets which generally received few visitors per stall until an hour had elapsed. At this latter location I found a few feng shui charts too, one of which read
Spindle: So that means those born in the years of the rooster, dog, rat and rabbit are in conflict with Tai Sui (太歲) and would need to take remedies? Oh wait, you're a tiger, who has neutral fortune. Never mind.
Parcly: We had a look at another market in Yau Ma Tei that primarily sold fruits; the morning shift was over and two games of mahjong were underway. Some of the shorter buildings appeared to be made from bricks and mortar, indicating their extreme age.
Still, I was getting bored from walking through live animals, aquariums, meat in the open, seafood on crushed ice and jars of TCM herbs. I needed some relief from this equine traffic jam, so rode the train to Kowloon and the Elements plaza, both at the base of the tallest building in Hong Kong, the International Commerce Centre.
Princess Luna: Elements, as its name suggests, is divided into zones named after the Wu Xing (五行): water, wood, fire, earth and metal (水、木、火、土、金). Moving one place forward at a time gives the constructive cycle; two places gives the destructive cycle. If I had to associate them with the Elements of Harmony I'd pair them with Rainbow, Fluttershy, Pinkie, Applejack and Rarity respectively, and-
Parcly: Luna, I just have a penchant for very tall buildings. I was there only to enjoy the air conditioning and wide-open voids before moving on. It wasn't that fun inside, I discovered.
Luna: Then where did you find more fun?
Parcly: Along the Island Line. At HKU I had char siew/goose rice for lunch, but that was a mere pit stop. One more station to the terminus of Kennedy Town, that's where the real adventure started…
Spindle: Not only is the western tip of the Island undeveloped, it's also unfrequented by tourists who might ruin the scenery. One long trek up a hill took us down the whole spectrum of infrastructure: private shops, public gardens, condominiums, temples up steps, landfills. Finally, near the top was an unassuming gate and stairs to the Sai Wan Swimming Shed, which we descended.
Before I reached the shore, the ocean breeze reached my body, caressing a hollow shell inside. Forested outlying islands and Kowloon were wonders in the distance, ferries gliding between them like graceful dolphins. There was a long wood-and-steel pier anchored on natural rocks, disappearing underwater at its end beneath the tides and broken waves. Around its beginning lay dense forest on a steep incline.
Parcly: Piers like these make for perfect backgrounds. A newlywed couple's photoshoot was waiting for us to finish playing around, and we stood on a nearby slab watching its shutters fly for a while despite the afternoon sun bearing down. The amenities were primitive – a mounted wall clock was the only electric device I could see – but if it's an escape from the city, why complicate things?
Spindle: Ascending the hill and descending the stairs on leisurely hoof was tiring enough for Parcly. Yet we had to go back the same way we came, and upon reaching our hotel room she let herself flow head-first into her bottle, exhausted of magic. She could not be released until the night came.
Parcly: In a lucky break, cloud cover had diminished to reveal the moon and a few twinkling stars. I only noticed because my MTR pass expired, forcing a walk to the same restaurant I ate at on the first night (One Dim Sum). I was there for an item that had sold out then, and I got my hooves on it this time: youtiao (油条 – deep-fried dough) in a flour roll. I looked closer at the buildings around me, trying to understand my attachments to them, as I returned to the Dorsett to sleep on my last full day in Hong Kong.

The Phoenix had gone forward in time for a god damn reason. Some peace and quiet. It wasn’t enough that during her multiple lifetimes in the mortal world she had spent most of it helping other people and trying to keep the world from ending, her vacation days got ruined as well?
She’d picked the year precisely because it was so far in the future Cultivation as they knew it was long dead, replaced with technology, the ability for anyone to manipulate the world around them. It was a glorious thing really, even if it meant the era that Feng Wu was so versed in had been lost to dust and buried under rocks. It was the perfect getaway.
Right up until she felt something tug inside her, as if her mind blipped out of existence for a moment only to return almost instantly. A single frame drop that alerted her to shenanigans. Whoever it was, better have a damn fucking good reason. It happened again, and then again, each time she pulled herself back, dug in metaphorical heels and refused to move.
The last time someone tried to command her to anything it had ended badly, for everyone involved…maybe that was some justification for being selfish enough to refuse to attend, right up until pain overcame annoyance. She was starting to get a migraine, the metaphorical tug of war was tiring and even the immortal phoenix couldn’t ignore it forever.
Tumblr media
It took only a blink of an eye, and felt far longer than that to appear in the clearing. Feng Wu could feel the cool grass under her, a hand reached out to feel it in an attempt to center herself. Though the fact she was ready to stab someone in the face made it more difficult to do.
“You have three seconds to explain yourself.”

@demcngeneral asked: "Do I really look that bad..?"
Tumblr media
“No,” it took just a fraction of a second for Feng Wu to realise that she had said the wrong thing, something ambiguous and if anything she hated being ambiguous. People were hard for her, she much proffered studying science and medicine, there were answers there, there were facts and things weren’t open to interpretation.
“No, thats not where I meant I-” good god was she going to screw up every conversation she had with this man or was this just her new personality? Sometimes she wondered if she had been this much of a god damn nightmare before her fall but she guessed they would never know now. “I just-” a heavy sigh, “I’m bad with conversations ok. There’s nothing wrong with your face, you have a nice face ok?”
Fuck.
She wanted nothing more than hell to open up under her and swallow her whole.
A huff left her, hand reaching over to his side of the desk and tapping the scroll in his hand, “you’re meant to be helping me research not distracting me.” That didn’t sound any better but she chose to swiftly move on with the task in hand. “I could get this done faster without all of this, we just need tp find the stupid recipe to this stupid pill.” Well. Simple but it was like looking for a needle in a hay stack.
Tumblr media
And she certainly didn’t need to be thinking of him while they were trying to find it.

Cultivator or not, Feng Wu was very much ready to stab someone right now. The hairpin in her hand was all she had, yet she was pretty sure it was sharp enough that she could get a hit in before they got her. Might not have saved her life but she’d feel a whole lot better about going down if she managed to make them scream while they did so.
A small flash of red across her forehead, she was about to leap into the impending fray, and yet never quite made it. The idea of backing down and running away hadn’t ever occurred to her. Feng Wu had never walked away from a damn fight in her life before now, and she certainly wasn’t going to do it just because she wasn’t a cultivator anymore.
No. Sometimes you have to stand your ground.
His grip forced her to stumble to the side before being tugged along in the right direction. The distraction was welcome though, it offered a moment for her to snap back into reality and take the easier way out of this situation - running.
It was almost instinct, to let her fingers curl around his. Clinging to his hand as her other reached for her robes, holding them in her hand so she didn’t trip over them. Ni Tian Er Xing was not being stupid in this situation. Not in the slightest. Getting the hell out of here was by far the most sensible course, but there was still a part of her that didn’t want to be sensible.
Why should she? Feng Wu had been sensible her whole damn life so far when it mattered…and what had it got her? This god damned mess. “You should have let me get her at least once.” Not that it would have made a difference, or even made her feel better, but anger was a potent motivator.

Andrew Mcmahon in the Wilderness - Canyon Moon The sun ran out on a cold October, somewhere under the Canyon Moon. A camera jammed in a slow exposure, California in her rear view. She couldn’t handle another season, another ocean of fiction blue. Said a prayer to her dashboard Jesus, Death Valley in worn out shoes. Then the road turned into desert everywhere. The sun ran out on a cold October and she disappeared.
Babymetal - Time Wave I feel the god of motion. Move on. There isn’t an ending to everything. Towards the past and to towards the future. Move on. Time wave - running endlessly to a world with no time. To the world beyond time, continue running towards it. Transcend both the past and the future. Moving on forever. Hesitant and doubtful time after time. Lost and confused. The game is over. No dazed in this amazing maze again.
Enter Shikari - Live Outside I want to live outside, live outside, of all of this. I keep calling, keep hauling, keep calling them back. I can’t stand, can’t stand, can’t stand this attack. This neuron buzz is on another level. I’m on thin ice, I’m dancing with the devil. Can’t sleep with the noise in this house, but you can’t beat the allure of this now. I can’t sleep with the noise in this house, why wont they pipe down?
Jack’s Mannequin - Spinning I can’t remember when the earth turned slowly so I just wait here with the lights turned out again. I lost my place but I can’t stop this story, I’ll find my way but until then I’m only spinning. I’m keeping quiet till the phone stop rining, baby it’s hard to disconnect I just want something real. I could find my words if I could just stop thinking, the room is spinning. I have got no choice.

Frankly, the once princess was had stopped listening the the sounds of the meadows. The sky was lit up, vast swathes of it covered in bright purple and pink nebula, while that wasn't what her people called it, nor did they really understand what it was, it held reverence. It was, after all, where the gods lived. It was to be revered, even in Feng Wu's mind...even now as how she saw the universe was changing.

@hua-cheng-silver-wrath asked: "when i'm around you, i kind of feel like i'm on drugs. not that i do drugs. unless you do drugs, in which case i do them all the time. all of them."
Tumblr media
Shrugging her shoulders, she poured them each another cup of wine, the home made blossom wine was sweet, though highly alcoholic. “Does alcohol count as a drug because in that case then you are.” Humming to herself for a moment, she thought it over, did she drink too much? Was that a thing? Maybe she did, but would anyone blame her? It wasn’t exactly as if anything had been easy lately.
While Feng Wu was more than capable of standing up for others, standing up for herself was another matter. What was the point? Such injustice only affected her, she could put up with that, she could suffer it with some kind of decorum. Other people shouldn’t have to suffer.
Tumblr media
A hand reached forward, picking up one of the snacks on the table, peanuts fried with spices…a guilty pleasure that she wasn’t really ready to even attempt to give up. “I mean, its right up there with making the Mayors son cry.” A beat. “Not that I have.” Lie. “Okay maybe just a little.”

@dimensionalspades asked: why is it sophisticated to be bored? (To Feng Wu from Julian)
Tumblr media
“I don’t know.” Feng Wu answered with a heavy sigh, picking up the small piece of wax coated paper and crumpling it up in her hand. The snacks were long eaten. Night was falling on the city, and while for many of its inhabitants, that meant it was time to lock themselves up behind doors, watching a candle and hoping it didn’t burn the house down in the dry summer heat…for Feng Wu it simply brought boredom.
Tumblr media
A heavy sigh, “tell me space isn’t this boring,” folding her arms, she sat her head down on them, almost childishly sulking. “Its got to be more exciting than this,” quiet suburbs of the imperial city, vague threats of martial law, mixed with the absence of any modern technology or assistance leads to over cautiousness ... and stretched resources. “I want to go and explore, there’s more to the world than this bullshit.”

If she’d been in a better mood, Feng Wu might have ventured out to the tea house, or dragged Qui Ling with her. No, this was a much more somber affair. The city beyond the walls of the compound was loud, a weekend night, tea houses open late, celebrations of all kinds going on. All of it felt like salt in a wound. So much so that she didn’t even look up at him, footsteps could be heard over the raucous city, with a pair of chopsticks in hand she pointed at the other seat, “there’s wine and snacks.” That was about all they needed, right? The large quantity of homemade peach wine and snacks was displayed across the table.
Pouring two cups of wine, she was unphased by the loud boom of fireworks in the distance, instead there was a sigh. “Guess they got married,” a shrug as she picked up her cup, “here’s to the happy couple I guess.” While Feng Wu wanted to curse them both, she guessed it would be in bad taste. It would come across as bratty and petty, but fuck it, “wasn’t enough to get me expelled and take my place in the royal court but she had to marry my betrothed? Some people are beyond help.”

Quiet.
Trying to suppress any kind of response. Eyes parked away from the door in an attempt to not be recognised by the in coming party. All she could do was stare at her friend in a pleading manner.

@battleguqin asked: "I love you, every single thing about you."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fingers gripped the warm blanket before she rolled herself over, rolling along the mattress until she was completely burritoed within its warm fibres. “Even when I steal the blanket?” She asked, batting eyelashes and trying to render herself as adorable as possible…while she was sure that it was annoying, she was also sure that he wouldn’t tell her to her face. It was, in some way, a disguised attempt to acknowledge her faults.
Still, the smile didn’t leave her face, how could she frown looking at him? Even if it was looking up from the almost floor level bed of their apartment she contemplated pulling her arms out of the warm bundle and then decided against it. The morning apartment was too chilly for her liking and she would rather stay in bed anyway. “Its like our one day off a year together…” that might have been a slight exaggeration but sometimes it felt like that.
The smile didn’t leave her face though, instead, she was enjoying the warmth, “while I want to say we should stay in bed all day together, there’s that new exhibit at the art museum we should go to, I think you would like it.” Well that and she wanted him to enjoy his day off, take something from it that they would enjoy together. A memory lasted longer than anything else after all.

@pctaldrunk asked: mistletoe meme (for mu sheng i think it'd be funny) (sorry i didn't figure out how to copy+paste the emoji :'D)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of. Course. This. Would. Happen.
Yet Feng Wu just stared at him, as if daring him to either play the role he’d chosen or get caught. It was, after all, his fault they were in this situation, tell your sister you are seeing someone, while Feng Wu had to take some of the blame for agreeing to play along…
Not that she was going to.
“How thoughtful of your sister to buy Mistletoe.” She observed, trying to keep her voice as light as possible, while her true meaning was implied. “If you crack and get us caught, I’ma throw you under so hard you’re gonna need to be reassembled by air crash investigators.”
