A collection of tasty and bizarre foods that I've eaten lately around Amami Oshima: 1) 鰈シシトウカレー Karei (Righteye Flunder) and Shishito Pepper curry from @spice_mafia_amami 2) French Bread Workshop's Sea Chicken and Mayo flavored crisps. 3) Homemade fish tacos using black pepper and lemon marinated local Bonito fish as well as nasturtium, mustard greens, cherry tomatoes, cilantro, habanero peppers, and shishito peppers from the garden. Plus Mexican avocados because ya gotta. 4) Sotetsu Miso, made from the nuts of the Cycad Tree. I always buy this "Nari-Miso" at ヤマア Yamaa in Naze Suehirocho. If you don't make it right, you can be fatally poisoned. 5) Akarinto, a special pork variety from Kasari. This was at オパッキャラマド Au pas camarade in Naze and came with a nice refreshing citrus-heavy salsa. 6) Eating on the local Kuruma-Ebi shrimp at Kamitaka. It's called Kuruma, which means 'car', because when you cook it, it curls up like a wheel. 7) Crunky cheddar cheese and cheese chocolate. I swear that we melted this over nachos and it was way better than we expected. 8) Coco Curry House's Cheese Curry flavored dried ramen snacks. It was not as good as it sounds lol. 9) This bizarre Yakisoba-flavored Fujiya Home Pie confused my tastebuds and left me bewildered.
