hello! my apologies if im doing anything wrong as im very new to this. could i please ask for a ticket to the ball with a daffodil and belladonna with kaeya? thank you ^^

𝐢𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡… kaeya has eyes for you and you only. however... it seems as if you have trouble understanding that. 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠… kaeya x gn!reader 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠… a ball ticket (royalty!au), daffodil (best-friend-to-lover!reader), belladonna (”there’s no way you’re expecting to like anyone else but you here.”), fluff, 2nd pov used, 0.9k words 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬… typed in lowercase as a stylistic choice, could be suggestive (? i’ll still put it under the rated-r tag),ended up falling into a habit and using 2nd pov instead of 3rd pov and they/them pronouns like i said in the event if that’s what you care abt whoops- 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫'𝐬 𝐜𝐮𝐭… don’t worry, you’re alright!! thank you so much for requesting! (is it obvious i had a lot of fun writing this based on my pfp-)

the midnight ball was nothing to scoff at; even as a member of the royalty’s esteemed staff.

with various important figures spilling into the palace’s grand hall, all adorned in the utmost, over-the-top jewelry and clothing, the venue cleaned with so much care you could see your reflection on both the marble floor, ceiling, and any hard surface that you could lay your eyes on—an outsider, even the people attending and working during the event, believed that just the atmosphere alone renders it to be a ball with at least of a somewhat importance.

well, everybody except the man of the hour himself.

“[name], you are aware this is just another one of my parent’s dumb socialite parties, correct?” KAEYA let his all-too familiar laugh spill from his lips. usually, the laugh would cause a concerning amount of butterflies to suddenly appear in your stomach, and the initial flustered reaction would cause the prince to immediately tease you for it... yet today was different.

currently, you were attempting to get him out of his quarters, only for him to stubbornly resist; the latter simply just standing there with his arm outstretched with you not even moving an inch from his original position on his bedside. it’s good to know that he wasn’t slacking off on honing his sword arts, but today, you wished that he would slack off a bit more than usual if it means that you get him out of his room without you having to struggle so much.

“it-” you paused, trying to calm down your intense breathing, already knowing a sadistic smile was creeping up on a certain man’s features. when you’ve finally felt like your break was long enough, you turned to him, his wrist still caged with your fingers. “it’s not some ‘dumb socialite party,’ your highness-”

“kaeya.”

“kaeya,” the irritation was quick to bleed through your voice, only making the prince’s grin wider in comparison. “besides, your parents need you to find someone there-”

“please, they know i could handle the kingdom by myself, it’s what they raised me to do, after all!” he rolled one of his blue eyes, though, even without the eye-patch, you would’ve figured he’d be rolling that one as well. however, with a sudden change of heart signaled with his eyes widening as if he had a little ‘eureka’ moment. “well, perhaps not...”

“great! great, great, great!” you exclaimed, trying your best not to show your doubt regarding his transparency. horror stories from past assistants and fellow co-workers, experience with attempting to make kaeya do everything crucial that would make the kingdom not fall apart, and pure intuition told you that him trailing off with his words was not only suspicious—it was a blatant sign of bad news. he was up to something; even with all the time you’ve spent dealing with his stupid antics, you still struggle to figure him out.

(much to your annoyance, kaeya would go all up in your face, and barely above a whisper, says, “i think i’m rather obvious, don’t you think?”)

nevertheless, you still proceeded to tighten your grip on his arm, and it just feels like you’ve been comically pushing your feet on the floor going absolutely nowhere: similar to that of a reverse treadmill. instead of something like shock or simply getting out of his damn bed, the man seemed to be rather charmed with your useless endeavors.

“c’mon! let’s get going-”

“not so fast,” kaeya confidently smirked, then pulled you forward with a strength that wouldn’t be expected for someone of such a lean stature. putting a particular emphasis on your hand, he was quick to lock his fingers in yours, placing the two on his chest.

naturally, you closed your eyes at the sudden gesture, a small ‘thump’ echoing in his spacious bedroom. after a few minutes of you registering your situation, you gradually opened them.

the first thing you noticed was, of course, kaeya. even if it weren’t for the fact that he made up more than a third of your vision, his presence was not hard to notice. it’s expected, as the prince and second in line to the throne.

though, just because it’s expected doesn’t make it any less embarrassing.

the second thing you noticed was the compromising position that he caused the two of you were in. it was no brainer from the sudden creases and wrinkles that made up the backdrop for kaeya that you and he were on his bed. with nothing more than a glimpse away, you found both of your arms outstretched: one comfortably pinned on the left side of his head and the other uncomfortably perched on his chest.

the circumstances always refuse to be in your favor regarding the prince; you couldn’t help but feel a rush of dopamine flood your system.

the third thing you noticed was the sudden, breathing-like feeling ghosting like your mouth. “if you blink, you’ll miss it,” didn’t mean anything to you before, it certainly did now. it appeared that the prince had used his strength to go against your weight, arching his back towards you, thus bringing his face closer.

“you didn’t let me finish,” he muttered, barely above a whisper, smirk swiftly molding into a small frown, clicking his tongue in unsatisfaction. him saying something alone would make you shudder. “hmph, how uncordial of you.”

his eye was one of the few objects in your line of sight—if not, the only. in order to calm yourself down, you’ve decided to look deep within it, not even clocking that his lips were dangerously closing into yours, only being alerted when you felt his fingers grazing your chin.

“regardless, it’s rather amusing to see you, my royal assistant—who knows the ins and outs of the his majesty, prince kaeya—thinks that i would have my sights set on anyone else but you.”
