Today was the anniversary of the day he became Robin. The day all of his training had paid off, the day he had worked towards for months until his arms were sore and his eyes burned. The day he’d worked through all his fear, worked with his fear, to defeat Scarecrow. It should’ve been one of the happiest days of his life.

It was also the day he’d buried his mother.
