for a prompt, if it suits you: sirius and regulus as younger kids, and sirius saying he'll marry remus (a friend from the playground)? just some brotherly content and baby sirius being very determined to marry remus, if you like that idea :)
HELLO!! thank you for your prompt, i’ve not written anything in months so this was good practice for me :) i’ve written the boys to be slightly older, in their teens, but still pretty young nonetheless. this is kinda short and kinda vague, but imagine it however you like it to be! i’m sorry if it’s shit, i wrote this in under an hour and i’ve been really woozy the past few days from sleeping so much 😅
p.s. there’s implied child abuse here so be careful if it’s something that bothers you!!!!
————————
“Reg, wait! Don’t run so fa– Shit.”
In that moment, Sirius Black knew he was done for. He’d be in for a whooping once he got home.
Hurrying over to where his younger brother had crashed into another boy on a skateboard, Sirius was mentally preparing his apologies for not taking care of Reg, knowing they’d be futile anyway.
“–so so sorry, are you alright?” The other boy was already fussing over Regulus, checking him over for injuries and wincing at the open wounds on his palms.
Regulus dazedly nodded up at the boy as he was carefully hauled up to his feet. Sirius came to a halt in front of the pair, hurriedly grabbing Regulus by the shoulders and turning him to face himself.
“Reg, shit, I told you to be careful, mom and dad are gonna murder me, but nevermind that, are you okay? Any broken bones? Oh dear god, your palms are bleeding, I–“
A hesitant tap on the shoulder had him whirling around to face the other boy. He had forgotten he was even there. And oh god.
The boy’s golden tanned skin was flushed from the adrenaline. His chocolate brown eyes were wide and fearful, and he averted his gaze to the floor, bringing a hand up to run through his mass of golden curls. He chewed on his bottom lip nervously, and Sirius found his eyes locked onto the sight.
He was beautiful.
The boy looked back up at Sirius, and it was then he realised that he was actually saying something to him.
“I’m sorry, what?”
“Erm, I have some... Some bandages. I–I’m sorry. I should’ve looked at where I was going...” He trailed off, looking at Reg.
“Don’t worry about it, I’m fine,” Regulus was in a strangely good mood for someone who just got barreled into by a stranger on a skateboard.
The boy led the two brothers to a bench by the side of the pavement where Regulus planted himself onto. Sirius was still staring at him as he fished his bandages out and started tending to Reg. He was clad in a loose fitting white graphic tee, baggy, black denim jeans which were ripped at the knees, and black vans. While he looked like any typical teenage skateboarder, which Sirius abhorred, he found himself immediately drawn to him. There was something about this boy that made him different. Sirius couldn’t place his finger on it.
He watched as the boy sat on the floor in front of Reg to clean his scraped knees, and how his hair caught the sunlight, giving him the sudden desire to run his fingers through those curls. The two boys were making easy conversation, their small accident forgotten. Reg was smirking at the boy and he blushed furiously, making him even redder than he already was previously. Even after he had finished cleaning up Reg’s wounds, he leaned back on his hands, grinning at something Reg was saying.
“–he’s kind of an idiot. Just look at him.”
Two pairs of eyes turned to him, and his brain snapped back into focus.
“Huh?” He frowned at his younger brother.
“See what I mean?” Reg gave the boy a smug look, and the latter promptly burst into laughter. He stuck his hand out towards Sirius.
“Remus. Nice to meet you.”
Sirius grasped his hand, finding the warmth of Remus’ palm very comfortable and very welcoming. He never wanted to let go.
“Sirius. And you’ve met my brother, Regulus. Are you alright?”
Remus smiled shyly as he let go. “Yeah, only I’m twice the size of your brother so if you should be worried about anyone it’s him. I’m fine. I hope you’re not gonna get into too much trouble with your parents, though.”
Sirius waved it off, feeling the distinct absence of warmth and trying to push the thoughts of wanting another excuse to touch Remus to the back of his mind.
They talked for hours, realising that they were enrolled into the same school, starting in a month’s time. Sirius learned that Remus just moved into the neighbourhood weeks ago, which was why they had never met before. He picked up skateboarding years ago, and he loved skating in the park whenever he could, feeling his worries leaving him and reveling in the way the wind in his hair made him feel like he was flying. He also loved photography, and would roam around the neighbourhood from time to time, taking photos of this new environment he was in, learning every street one by one as he explored them.
Sirius wanted to know everything about Remus, and vowed to do so someday.
It seemed that the boys lived only a couple of blocks away, so they headed back together as the sun was due to set in half an hour or so. Remus cruised alongside the Black brothers, and Sirius found himself staring for too long on more than one occasion, captivated. He stayed mostly silent as Remus and Regulus chatted on animatedly, with Reg practically begging Remus to let him have a go on his skateboard sometime. Remus chuckled and directed his next question at Sirius, “What do you say, Sirius? I can teach you both if you’d like.”
Sirius’ face split into a grin.
Later that night, Sirius lay in his bed, rubbing aloe vera on the stinging marks left by his parents all over his palms. He winced on reflex, but his mind was on the golden boy he said goodbye to hours ago.
“Sirius?” He looked up, seeing Reg’s face peeking through the small opening of the bedroom door. “Can I come in?”
Sirius shrugged, and Regulus slipped into the room as silently as he could, flopping onto the bed beside where Sirius was sat.
Regulus stared at the ceiling. “I’m sorry they hit you again. I should have been more careful.”
“I should have taken better care of you. It’s alright. I’m used to it at this point.” Sirius smiled ruefully.
“You seem to have taken a liking to Remus earlier, haven’t you?” Reg’s elbow nudged Sirius’ thigh playfully, and without even looking at him, Sirius knew he was smirking knowingly.
“He’s gorgeous, and there’s something about him. I dunno, he’s just a puzzle I can’t seem to piece together. There’s more to him than what he lets on,” Sirius laid on his back then, shoulder to shoulder with Regulus.
“Are you going to ask him out? Date him?” Reg prompted.
Sirius looked thoughtful for a moment. Then, his lips quirked into a soft smile. “I’m gonna marry him someday. Just you wait.”

Since you all liked Hikari and Hinata so much in the future!Taker verse...
The sound of a door slamming is uncommon in the Katsuki-Nikiforov household, enough so when Victor hears it he almost drops his teacup right in front of his slippered feet.
In the summer the kids will close the sliding doors far too hard as they run out to the beach to swim, but this was an inside door. Hikari’s, if he has to guess. Sundays are homework days for her and to rest from ice and rosin-protected parquet, and it’s the scheduled week for his lapochka’s trip to Tokyo for work. He should be arriving to Tokyo station for his connection to Shibuya shortly, Victor notes as he checks the time.
Victor sets his drink on the counter, wading through dog bodies who follow their Oldest Hooman to her door. There’s a sign on it in lavender glitter with her name in kanji, Cyrillic, and English lettering she made in school for an art project.  Victor knocks. “Lisichka? Is everything alright?”
“Go away,” comes an upset and angry sounding 12 year old voice.
Victor’s eyes widen---while Hikari tends to dote a little more on Yuuri, she has no standoffishness towards him. At least, not normally. “Hikari? What’s wrong? Please let me help if I can.”
“It’s gross,” she says.
Victor blinks while rubbing his hand through his hair. “I don’t...” He pauses. “Why don’t we try talking it out? I’m sure I won’t agree.”
There’s silence and then the door is flung open. Hikari’s hair, neatly plaited when he last saw her an hour ago, is now a disheveled ponytail. She had on a pair of pants and a sweater, but now she’s back in her pajamas.
What breaks his heart is how miserable she looks. He opens his arms and after several moments of a wary stare, she falls into them. After a couple of minutes, she begins to cry.
“Lisichka,” he says. He strokes her hair several times.
“It hurts,” she says. “It hurts a lot, and everything’s unfair.”
“What hurts?” he asks, beginning to sound an alarm in his head. Is their doctor open today? If not is there an emergency clinic he can take her to? He’ll send Hinata to the onsen, have him stay with Mari while---
“My stomach,” Hikari says. “I have these cramps. And I---” she stops herself with a frown. “Can we call Otouchan? Or Mari-oba?”
Victor pulls his phone out of his pocket and selects his first contact. It rings twice before being sent to voice mail because---right, he’s on the train. He can’t talk.
A few seconds later, though, there’s an iMessage. Hey. What’s going on?
Victor passes her the phone. “He can’t speak on the phone, so tell him this way, alright?”
Hikari nods with a wet sniffle. She types furiously and then waits for a response.  When she gets it, Victor can feel her relief, but she’s still horribly sad and frustrated. “He says to get me some NSAIDs, a heating pad or hot water bottle, and to let me just lie down for a while after both.”
Victor doesn’t understand at all, but he goes to the medicine cabinet in the master suite and grabs a bottle of Meridon. He gets her a bottle of her favorite aloe drink, and he lets her take two pills chased by the beverage. She still looks like her world is ending, and Victor longs to fix it.
He gets her a heating pad and she takes it with a sad nod. Then she lies down on her bed with her knees drawn to her chest. She turns the pad up to high when it’s placed low on her stomach and just breathes for a while until her expression smooths.
Victor checks the texts. Have Mari, Yuu-chan, or the triplets go to the pharmacy to get her pads. I’m not sure what will work best since it’s her first one. Also if she asks for anything like chocolate, salty foods, or red meat, let her have it. It’s normal when this happens.
When...what happens? Victor can’t help but ask. He thinks pads and chocolate are some kind of major hint, but he’s blanking.
Her period, Vitya. She just got her first period.
Victor stares at the phone like it’s a cobra that just bit him eight times. What...but...she’s just...she’s a baby still! She’s so little! She hasn’t grown up enough for this! He’s not old enough for this! Are you sure?
Blood in her underwear, painful cramps, out of nowhere bad mood...yeah I’m sure. We eat twice a week with my older sister---I know the signs pretty well, I’d say.
Victor tries not to fall to the ground. He’s not ready for this.
I’m not ready for this.
Not your call. Try to be gentle but don’t press her too hard or be too invasive. Give her the snacks and don’t bother her about competition weight or costumes. Caffeine is a bad idea, it may make her cramps worse. And get her the pads ASAP, she’s making do with less than ideal options since we didn’t have any in the house.
Okay. I’ll do all of this. Thank you, lapochka. I miss you and wish you were home.
I do too, I feel bad not being there. I’ll see if I can reschedule some of my meetings and come home a few days early.
Victor’s palms are sweaty. He wipes his right hand off on his trousers. Thank you, lapochka. Miss you. Love you.
I love you too. I’ll let you know about coming home. Call me if you need any other tips. 💙
I will 💙💙💙💙, Victor replies. He walks back to the kitchen and takes two ibuprofen himself with a sip of his now-cold tea. He texts Mari next explaining the situation, and Mari gives him brand names and thicknesses for Hikari to choose from as needed, but there’s a big footie match in a half an hour and she can’t leave the onsen.
He orders from Amazon Now and forty minutes later, he has the pads. He knocks on her door before opening it. “Hikari, your Otouchan told me what happened. I um---got you things.”
He holds the pads like a bomb. Hikari gives him a confused look at first until she realizes what he has. “Can you put them in my bathroom? I’ll...get one soon.”
“Yes,” Victor says and puts them within easy reach of the toilet. He leaves, and he gives her a look. She hasn’t moved and her eyes have closed again. He honestly doesn’t know what to do, and he feels ancient, and she’s his baby and this is too soon.
“Papulya?” she says, soft and timid. Not the force of nature she is normally. His heart shatters.
“Yes?”
“Can you lie down with me?” her voice is watery again. She sounds scared, like every breath is a struggle.
He couldn’t refuse if he wanted. Her bed is a bit small for them both, but they manage so she doesn’t have to move out of her comfortable position. Daifuku tentatively joins them at their feet with a sad expression, the other dogs crowding the floor on her side of the mattress.
Hinata peers around the partially-opened door. He adjusts his glasses in a way that’s 100% Yuuri, and Victor misses him more than he ever has. The family is missing a large piece on an important occasion and it feels wrong. Victor gestures over Hikari’s back, and Hinata climbs onto the bed as best he can.
Hikari manages to doze off, Hinata as well even though they both hate naps, and Victor checks his phone.
How is she? Is everything okay?
Not quite but it’s better, Victor responds because Yuuri will be displeased if he lies.
I’ll be home Wednesday evening. I’ll call in a couple of hours, too,  and let her know. I’m so sorry that I’m not there.
Nothing to apologize for, lapochka. You cannot read the future. We’ll make do until your return.
Okay. I’ll still call later. Probably after I get dinner. If she wants to stay home tomorrow, go ahead and let her. She may feel akward, or she may not feel well enough.
I think I’ll just tell her to stay home regardless.
Okay. Let me know if you have any other questions or if she needs anything else. Tell her I love her.
I will. Thank you. Love you.
You too.
Victor locks the phone. He strokes his daughter’s back while his son’s glasses go askew as he turns his face too far into Victor’s chest. None of them in this bed are ready, but they have to be anyways.
It’s what growing up means. It’s been a long time since Victor has, but that hasn’t changed. Truly, he suspects it’s simply a constant, that there’s really nothing more permanent than transformations and adaptions.

REVIEWING THE CHARTS: 21st April 2019
There’s two new arrivals this week and other than one other story not much happened this week so this is going to be a really short episode without a featured song but I don’t care, I needed a break anyway, we’ve had some busy weeks very recently, I’m going to take advantage of a slow week.
Tumblr media
Top 10
We barely get any country on the UK charts mostly because country is very, very American so there’s barely any real crossover most of the time, although Florida Georgia Line have cropped up a few times before. So that’s why I think the success of Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Old Town Road” is so puzzling, at least internationally, because countries like those in the UK are not typically all too friendly to country and/or trap, at least before about 2017 when urban music really started to take a step up in popularity within Britain. I guess it just struck a chord at the right time, especially with the cowboy aesthetic that I see in fashion recently, how we’ve reached peak trap, the acceptance of comedy and meme-rap in the mainstream, unfortunately thanks to Lil Dicky and simply how Lil Nas X is one of us. He was a Twitter comedian and Nicki Minaj stan account, so I’m sure his personality and character is relatable to people right now. We’re still experiencing some 90s nostalgia resurgence right now so Billy Ray Cyrus’ addition just made it perfect... and yes, that means that there’s a new #1. Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ first, “Old Town Road” is up one space from last week to the top of the charts, and I’m not complaining. While I’m a tad more lukewarm on the original, I do think that Billy Ray Cyrus adds a lot to the track and I’ve been rooting for its success ever since it started to be in TikTok memes, so this is a pretty cool event here, even if it’s already been #1 in the US for like four weeks, and I’m pretty sure it’s more of an international cultural phenomenon than I ever expected it to be.
Wow, what a drawn-out speech just to say some country-rap song from a Nicki Minaj stan has hit #1. Speaking of wastes of time, Lewis Capaldi’s “Someone You Loved” is of course down a spot to number-two from last week.
Billie Eilish’s “bad guy” is still at number-three.
MEDUZA and Goodboys continue to rise a spot to number-four with “Piece of Your Heart”.
Also up a space from last week is Tom Walker’s “Just You and I” at number-five.
“Giant” by Calvin Harris and Rag ‘n’ Bone Man has a particularly bad week down two spots to number-six.
The interesting story here is Russ splash and Tion Wayne, however, both having their second top 10 hit in the UK thanks to “Keisha & Becky”, which debuted a few weeks ago in the top 20 and went absolutely nowhere, but has suddenly boosted up 23 spots to number-seven. Maybe there’s been a video released – but that can’t be it because it quite literally debuted with a video already released. I soon found out that there’s a remix with Aitch, JAY1, Sav’O and Swarmz. I’ve talked about JAY1 and Swarmz before, but otherwise this is new territory and while I still have the same problems with the chorus especially, but the verses aren’t bad here, and Tion Wayne ending his with humming is pretty funny. Aitch is just embarrassing though, Sav’O and JAY1 are non-existent and Swarmz references “Gucci Gang”. It’s also way too long now, so I would in no way call it an improvement.
Down a spot from last week is Jonas Brothers with “Sucker” at number-eight.
Also down one space from last week is Dave with “Location” featuring Burna Boy at number-nine.
Finally, “Here with Me” is at #10, rounding off our top 10 with CHVRCHES’ first ever top 10 hit and Marshmello’s fifth, up a spot from last week.
Climbers
I find it funny that I concluded the last episode or so with mentioning how I can see all the debuts being hits but none of them are really going away right now, so I hope they’re slow burners. Speaking of, Alec Benjamin’s “Let Me Down Slowly” featuring Alessia Cara is up five spaces to #31, and that’s the only notable climber we have.
Fallers
We have a handful more of these, however. Billie Eilish’s “bury a friend” continues its fall down five spots to #15, as does “wish you were gay” funnily enough also by Billie Eilish at #26. “MONOPOLY” by Ariana Grande and Victoria Monét is also down seven positions to #30, prematurely joining long-term hits like “Wow.” by Post Malone down six spaces to #32. Oh, and there was an absolutely massive collapse for Ariana Grande’s “break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored” thanks to streaming cuts and dumb UK chart rules, down 24 spaces to #39.
Dropouts & Returning Entries
Remember when I said last week’s debuts would have longevity? Well... “My Bad” by Khalid is out from #32, “Kill This Love” by BLACKPINK drops out as expected from #33 and “Cool” by Jonas Brothers is out from #39. Otherwise, as I figured, “Streatham” by Dave is out from #40 and that’s all. In terms of returning entries, “Sunflower” by Post Malone and Swae Lee is back at #40 for some reason and for equally no reason, “Who Do You Love” by the Chainsmokers and 5 Seconds of Summer is back at #36. Sure?
NEW ARRIVALS
#13 – “Boy with Luv” – BTS featuring Halsey
Produced by Pdogg – Peaked at #1 in Malaysia and South Korea, #8 in the US
BTS have a new “Comeback”, because that’s what all their albums are called, I guess, even if their eras are non-existent. That’s one thing I don’t really like about K-pop – the mismanagement, and how the bands are overworked, but I suppose that’s none of my business, I’m just here to review the music – and, yes, this is the lead single and video from K-pop boy band BTS’ album and/or EP MAP OF THE SOUL : PERSONA, featuring... Halsey? To clarify it’s pretty much just a brief cameo, she doesn’t add anything to the song at all other than some crossover potential and to be fair I think that it will help them have more longevity unlike most K-pop songs that end up on the main charts. The beat is pretty barebones initially, just a vocal samples and a pretty groovy bassline actually, under a pretty steady drum beat which feels more organic than most K-pop beats, which usually go for a stilted trap beat. I can’t tell the difference between the BTS boys and Halsey, but I will say the pre-chorus is really catchy, even though I feel like I’ve heard it all before, it has a slight resemblance to “Wolves” by Selena Gomez and Marshmello, I see? The “oh, my, my, my” refrain reminds me of something I cannot exactly place my fingertip on and it’s really annoying, maybe it’s “Sweet but Psycho” by Ava Max but not exactly? I don’t really care, though, because it still suffers from what all K-pop does, the randomly-placed trap-rap verses which, while usually flowing well and okay within themselves, are not placed into the song as if it was an actual part of the song, as in, cohesive composition, and instead like an abrupt beat switch for no apparent reason. To be fair, this is more comprehensible than most other K-pop, but for BTS’ second top 40 hit (First top 20) and Halsey’s sixth (Fourth top 20), it is disappointing, especially with knowledge of the other artists’ work, which is mostly pretty damn good.
#12 – “SOS” – Avicii featuring Aloe Blacc
Produced by Avicii, Albin Nedler and Bonn – Peaked at #1 in Finland and Sweden, and #68 in the US
So, yeah, EDM DJ Tim Bergling committed suicide last year, there’s no way to avoid talking about that, and as to be expected with (And has since happened to) pop stars who die, posthumous albums will be released, the first of Avicii’s being Tim. While Avicii supposedly had the instrumental prior and all was needed was for Aloe Blacc to add some songwriting and lay down his vocals, it is stil like most posthumous releases, somewhat empty, and since a representative stated that there weren’t any plans to release any music, it does feel pretty scummy just a year later, but this is the only song really generating all too much profit for the producers and songwriters (Mostly because of the writing credits for TLC, ironically excluding the member who passed away), because of how all of the profits the album generates are going to the Tim Bergling Foundation, spreading mental health awareness, and I can’t knock that, so I do respect his label and close friends and family for producing this record. This is Avicii’s 14th UK Top 40 hit, the first of which that is posthumous, and his 12th Top 20, as well as Aloe Blacc’s fourth Top 40 and Top 20 hit, and honestly it’s pretty good. Sure, it sounds somewhat unfinished, and it really isn’t anything unique, but I love Blacc’s voice and the hook is insanely catchy, mostly because of the interpolation of “No Scrubs”, with the overproduced synths producing a legitimately good build-up into a relaxed but fun EDM drop, and I don’t really have any complaints about it, other than the fact that due to the circumstances, Aloe Blacc’s subject matter is unfortunately ironic and perhaps misguided, but I understand his intentions with having the song portraying a man, possibly detailing Avicii’s own personal struggles, willing to stop being reliant on drugs for the love of his life, and that’s a message I can get behind. For what it’s worth, I like this, but I’m not sure how moral it is or how long it’ll stick around.
Conclusion
It’s kind of slim pickings here, but I’ll go with Avicii and Aloe Blacc in terms of Best of the Week for “SOS” but I don’t dislike “Boy with Luv” at all so I think BTS and Halsey can scrape through with an Honourable Mention and there are no negative titles this week, because nothing here is worth getting angry about. Follow me on Twitter @cactusinthebank for more pop music ramblings and Top 20 rankings, and I’ll see you next week!
