We have 45 million people heading out to tatunga and it is a strict mission they say investigating Tommy f and he was found on there and but they do to see him fighting and trying tons of heavy and it sounds very real and saw stuff going there so they're confused no. Sorry if has a ton of stuff down there and he hasn't brought out yet so they're wondering why no they're attacking basis this is going on now they're all leaving and but half the new houses will probably be empty and he says well maybe aren't they going to be big weeks and we started five apartment complexes today in Charlotte county wow all brand new it's nice tons of people are looking and they see the trees falling real fast the whole lot machines came out took them away in about an hour it's clear and clapping and the same things and we graded starting the foundations around noon there's a lot of grading to do and clapping again and lots of them said no way see some projects just sit there like those stupid trees and they stunk and they would excavated out and just leave it and it's not even legal and they complain and nobody would listen and we say if you ever complaint with snow this is rather noisy and so we shut down at 5:00 even though six is like quiet time and he said good so we're doing it yesterday we sit down five instead wow that's a miracle so we keep on working and someone came up and said can I give you a hand and he said tell a horseshack hello... And I said I don't think so then I saw you at the time to go get coffee I said you better go get a coffee or two they got to turn back in a little slipping me off a little so I said maybe three so he laughed I'll see how people down here when a good time they all went about the same time one say that an issue and we took a look at it and kept going and worked around it and then dug it out it's an old fixture and it wasn't a plan so we got permission to pull it out and I said a lot of things out there cars and some trucks and somewhere deep and a few the sense to pull them out and found stuff in them and someone some had ordinance to recall the people they take it away the military and we found money and we know who it is and we found other things it's weird too they leave money around and Tommy f grabbed it used it to frame them. Huge hunting party is going out for him now I can't stand it this guy's got to go is always framing us and hurting us harming his friends, taking screen or something to the hospital person the mental hospital sales admissions you guys are freaking nutcase they're going to be powering him he's a lunatic soon all this extra stuff then we can tell what's going on including him isn't that case is enjoying the chaos and then nuttiness. You too have to stop in and we are going to apply measures today much bigger ones it's way too tiring it's too much work.
There's a huge group heading to tatunga I said I look like Chris not exactly like him this is some old Giants in him so they go down there it's like Mexico to USA and Giants can just haul stuff over there from South America to the USA huge groups too about 10 I'll tell you each and no kidding they're gigantic and it's probably going to be 10 to 20 of them that's probably the largest Forest ever assembled going to what we're saying is our facility
The digging has ceased on "American Freeway" nope... Quite the opposite there are tons of shovels on it now I mean tons they're digging the crap out of it they all have the elevations and I'll going from point to point and the survey Cruise are marking it out and their GPS is sharper now and they're using that and they're using each other's benchmarks too so it matches we have a system and it is intense there's a lot of shovels I mean this is probably 200 million shovels from Cali to Alabama including California start it needs a bedding and it needs and we're digging out for the rail too it's a huge huge project.. it's gigantic and he just thought of it and were selling vehicles. We are prepping the road for test ride. There's only a few more things that we have to do and it's road lines and some deliators and their shallow very shallow they need to stay in your lane and a few other things and it's still kind of light here and paving is almost cured and we're waiting for the approval and they'll say it's done over a certain spot so I'm doing lines now big huge long lines they're pretty thick and they're wide it's normal but it's the whiter ones and they're not thermoplastic they're too much of a bump it's really incredible you should see it it's huge it's the line of yours are strange the delineators are a strange soft blue and they glow at night and you hit it with light and close brightly it is a trip it looks like a huge contract and it's going to attract tons of people to our facility not to get a stipend for this this is intense it's an engineering feet it really is it's a two-way street and literally and in California we met and we sat down and we said we would have hurt anybody but we have to go right through here and it also laughing including us there is like nothing there. Don't play that dilleniors and lions and about an hour or two to be dry. And I can run some test runs with cars trucks bikes regular vehicles this is a great time to introduce a new interceptor he's thinking Corvette or the Ford what's that thing GT and they make modern wood no need to stop producing producing them in 2007 it says that's fairly recent so we're going to have cops take a look at it and Chris was stupid up a little and then we have interceptor bikes cause light cycles would be one and then we have a really fast sport bikes and superbikes it's going to be interesting.
He suggested helicopters everyone's awhile and it'll be like a pad you'll land and go talk to the cop or something it's kind of been mentioned that's cool we have it like near the train station in case of emergency and you can even have all the parking lot there it's secure and the guy says the parking garage with the gate and that would be for like commuting once a week or every day or so we're going to look at it definitely and he said that the garage is like enclosed you can't get into it except the gate and it's sheltered completely 247 monitoring.
This project is gigantic he's miles like a billion dollars and it's going to be $1,300 MI so that's only going to be a few trillion and all said and done and with the rail and stations and roadways that connects the sum of that are 100 miles long or more to connect to the thing and people love it it's a great concept it Tyson together it's huge okay this is huge we have casinos all over the place near it it's really crazy like almost the top of it one of them and that's put in hotels and stuff it said give me a lot of races
We're adding to it now and it's going to go up North it's a little fearful and everybody wants to look at the hardware now and they see what we're doing and say a boy or nice to have that hardware ourselves instead of motorcycles and so they're looking at and they look at all the Intel and it's having to come out more but really it's going to start out there today probably huge sections and a mile long tons of and all the way up there too Virginia Delaware and passed it
That's fine we have five proposals each of them are over a thousand miles long and they come from other people it was starting to wonder what the hell so telling them the specs and requirements of what we could in here and then all over the world by the way I didn't say why that why this and they're looking at it same probably have all these fast vehicles including trucks

Good morning, readers.
Happy Monday.
Weekly COVID case counts across the Triangle are on the rise again following schools reopening for in-person classes.
But there are more doses of vaccine coming into the state from the federal government and the state's residents are getting their shots: as of last week, more than two million people have received their first of two shots; more than one million have received both doses of vaccine, and nearly 77,000 people have received the single-shot vaccine.
So, while progress feels slow, know that one fifth of the state's population is partially vaccinated, while about 13 percent of the population is fully vaccinated against COVID-19. And for residents age 18 and over, those numbers are roughly 27 percent and 18 percent, respectively.
That feels significant.
Here's some fun news: INDY Week's Best of the Triangle reader poll opens this Friday, March 26th where you, our readers, nominate and vote for your favorites businesses as Best of the Triangle in more than 300 categories. The voting runs through next month and four finalists in all the categories go head to head in May.

Orange County
Well, UNC's men's basketball team crashed and burned Friday with an 85-62 loss to Wisconsin in the team's first game of the NCAA tournament. Carolina's women's basketball team plays Alabama today at noon.
Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools begin a hybrid Plan B schedule of both in-person and virtual classes today. Elementary school students return to in-person instruction four days a week.
Orange County has seen a rise in clusters of COVID cases related to the reopening of schools following a month of consistently lower new weekly cases counts.
Carrboro United, a food hub created to protect the town's economy during the COVID pandemic, just marked its first birthday. The group, which provides one-stop meals and grocery staples at independent shops and restaurants, plans to continue operating even once the pandemic is in the rear view.
Durham County
Duke relaxed its stay-at-home order for students Sunday morning after experiencing a surge in cases related to frat partying. Administrators told students that the virus spread has slowed on campus enough to resume in-person classes.
Durham police have requested the public's help to stop an armed robbery spree targeting Hispanic residents. Most of the robberies have occurred outdoors in apartment complex parking lots. A man was shot during a robbery earlier this month.
Durham Public Schools will begin offering free COVID tests to students, teachers, and parents.
Wake County
Proud Boys and the Reopen NC group gathered in Raleigh yesterday for a rally to support police, decry the COVID-19 vaccine, and bash COVID policies. Counter protesters from NC Born were on the scene as well; WRAL reports a lot of "shouting and yelling" from both groups but no escalations into violence.
It's been more difficult in Wake County than in others for folks to get COVID vaccine appointment but that could change soon. This week, Wake will receive 10,000 doses of vaccine, up from 5,600 the county has been receiving.
Wake has also seen an increase in COVID cases tied to school reopening, as well as an increase in clusters in childcare settings.
Elsewhere
Johnston County will hold a mass drive-through vaccination event on Wednesday, with 2,000 doses available on a first-come, first-served basis at North Johnston High School.
NC lawmakers are again pursuing hate crime legislation following the mass shooting in Atlanta.
Alamance is a county divided. Here's a look at the county's troubling history of racism. And here's a deep dive into the present situation in Graham, the county seat.

What the fuck am I even doing
It’s frustrating to get it wrong. The worst is when you think you have a basic understanding of a concept only to discover you haven’t understood it at all. I have wanted to create change since I can remember. I took it upon myself to learn everything I could that seemed relevant to helping people have access to a life that gave them everything they needed in a healthy, sustainable, enjoyable way, instead of this clearly broken human world we inhabit. Turns out, that’s a lot of stuff to learn. I’m reasonably intelligent, but my all-gifted/accelerated-class beginnings and my teacher’s unsuccessful attempts to convince my parents to let me skip grades soon turned into flunking out of high school. Early family tragedy, emotional issues, and personal misunderstanding of my own probably non-binary nature did not create a stable life, and I’ve had to do all my learning amid constant chaos. I’ve had more than 30 employers, including myself. I’ve written and produced comedic theater, I’ve done landscaping, I’ve been an accountant, I’ve run a jackhammer, I’ve worked in a bookstore, I’ve been a cook, a server, a hotel night auditor and front desk agent. I’ve worked 3 full 40-hour-per-week jobs at the same time, and I’ve done circus performance on the streets for money to eat. I’ve lived in more than 25 buildings, and never alone. I’ve spent a year in Germany, two years in Alabama, three years in Portland, two years in San Francisco, six years in Oakland, a year in Santa Cruz, a year in Hollywood... I’ve lived in town houses and apartment complexes and a warehouse and a tool shed and my truck.  Meanwhile, I needed to know... everything. Especially: what people are, what people need, what people have tried already, what the current situation on the planet is, and specifically to understand the explicit ways in which the overall organization of human existence is currently broken, so as to attempt solutions. I’ve done a lot of research into early human development, that journey from something less than human to something more than ape- what are we, what do we need, why are we like this? How do we fit in to ecosystems, and what is our track record of society building and collapse, and how has social power shaped these things, changed or remained the same in the many thousands of years humans have had large societies? I’ve done a lot of looking at human physical animal needs - my mother was a critical care and emergency room nurse, my father a general practitioner doctor with a focus in geriatrics, so I started with a good base. My own struggles lead me to examine mental health and psychology pretty closely. I’ve investigated nutrition and read studies about sleep and dreaming, and read at length about DNA, what genes are, and how they replicate, what that means for illnesses and health and aging. I looked into spirituality and philosophy, parsing the standard young questions about reality, relishing books like Siddhartha , moving on to the Tao Te Ching and the Allegory of the Cave and explorations of various religions. I’ve deeply considered what it means to be a Good Human. I experienced meditation and experimented with paganism, became very interested in witchery, attempted several occult practices. I detailed the pros and cons of modern western education systems contrasted with human biological and child developmental needs as intersecting with what society needs its students to become versus what students need to finish their education knowing. I designed a whole new system of education that addresses deficiencies in current systems. I studied energy production processes and played with my own experimental energy production techniques. I devoured information about sustainable architecture and zero-footprint design. I looked up studies that examine the average hours of work per week done by tribal people living in challenging environments like the Kalahari Desert and the Amazon Jungle, and compared that to anthropological observations of modern western families.  What I’m trying to express is the depth and variation of what I set out to learn. So, because of the width of this spectrum of information I’ve been trying to cram into my brain, I’ve cut corners. I’ve read recaps of recent history, in favor of in depth research of prehistory. I’ve read summaries of political movements instead of the literature produced by the leaders of those movements. I looked at pros and cons of various regime styles instead of tracing back their histories. There are... important areas in which I’ve only gone over the cliff notes, as it were. OF course that is totally inadequate. OF COURSE I don’t understand what I thought knew. smh. There are no shortcuts to knowledge, I KNOW this, I don’t know why I am so caught off guard. Now I have to question my answers. Because, I DO HAVE answers, finally. Projects that start at a manageable level, organizing a single community of about 60 people, one tribe’s worth, in a way that brings every part of modern american human existence under a single roof to be addressed in microcosm in order to generate replicable, scalable solutions and then uses socio-economic success to grow itself outward. Solutions that don’t try to force people to join in, but that tempt people to copy. Solutions that don’t tell people how they must live, but instead give them tools and options and examples. A community that allows minimum wage workers to own property (so that the community does not live under landlords) and provides the means to create outreach programs offering semi-temporary room and board to homeless people (especially those with children) women fleeing abusive relationships, rehabilitated convicts, disabled veterans, etc. That become low-cost support services to the neighborhood the community is in. This community and those that follow, are designed to function as a low risk entrepreneurial incubators such that the solutions to socio-economic inequalities and deficiencies can be developed for sale to the middle class such that the middle class pays low-income workers to create alternatives to current corrupt and broken institutions... creating new banks and schools, reinventing food and clothing industries, competing directly with and eventually replacing Walmarts and Targets and Wholefoods... This gives people more power to demand change to existing institutions by providing blueprints and working examples for alternatives. Eventually these communities and baby institutions can join and grow to form whole cities that are explicitly designed for sustainable low-environmental impact lifestyles, in which the municipality itself owns all the actual property, and therefore there are no landlords and 100% of the “rent” is used for infrastructure, alternative energy production and waste management, and, importantly, funding social programs that ensure everyone has better than the bare minimum access to food, shelter, clothing, information/education, and healthcare. One city can become two, then four. If the current broken and corrupt institutions don’t allow us to change them, they can be replaced entirely. It’s a huge undertaking. I have only just started taking action this last year after more than 20 years of conceptualization, and I anticipate dying without seeing it reach it’s full potential. And here today I find out, I still have AT LEAST a whole master’s degree worth of stuff to learn. That after all my study and research and reading and experience, someone literally half my age can tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about and call me ignorant... and she’s right. She’s absolutely right. I STILL don’t know what I’m talking about, in so many areas, in so many ways. I hate it. Because I’m running out of time. I have to move forward. And I have to do it knowing that I don’t know what I’m doing, which is fine for my own life, but I’m trying to influence other people’s lives, and that worries me. How can I ask people to trust me, to join me, when I don’t even, when I can’t, when I’m still so uneducated and ignorant? But my life is meaningless otherwise. I have chosen to not have children for this, I have turned my back on economic success for this, I have existed on the edge of society for this.

Global Underwater Lighting Market (SARS-CoV-2, Covid-19 Analysis)
The report encompasses the major developments within the Global Underwater Lighting Market amidst the novel COVID-19 pandemic. The report offers a thorough understanding of the different aspects of the market that are likely to be feel the impact of the pandemic.
Market Synopsis
Underwater lighting systems usually comprise lights that are guarded with resilient materials for smooth functioning in ponds, lakes, seas, and other underwater areas. Since these lights are often submerged in saline water, it becomes necessary for the manufacturers to design cases that are resistive to corrosion. According to the law of refraction, the direction of light changes in water and does not follow a straight path. This results in the scattering of light and does not provide ambient light to divers under water. Therefore, over the past few years, the traditional source of light has been replaced by light-emitting diodes (LEDs) for better illumination underwater. Underwater lights are also used by oceanographers for determining the physical and biological aspects of the ocean.
The global underwater lighting market was valued at USD 269.4 million in 2018 and is expected to reach USD 359.7 million by the end of the forecast period with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.26%.

The international airline’s Chief of Administration and Finance, Ejiroghene Eghagha, has also been charged with bank fraud and committing aggravated identity theft in connection with the scheme.
“Onyema allegedly leveraged his status as a prominent business leader and airline executive while using falsified documents to commit fraud,” said U.S. Attorney Byung J. “BJay” Pak. “We will diligently protect the integrity of our banking system from being corrupted by criminals, even when they disguise themselves in a cloak of international business.”

Robert J. Murphy, the Special Agent in Charge of the DEA Atlanta Field Division commented on the indictment, “Allen Onyema’s status as a wealthy businessman turned out to be a fraud. He corrupted the U.S. banking system, but his trail of deceit and trickery came to a skidding halt. DEA would like to thank the many law enforcement partners and the subsequent prosecution by the U.S. Attorney’s Office who aided in making this investigation a success.”
“This case is a prime example of why IRS-CI seeks to partner and leverage its expertise in an effort to thwart those seeking to exploit our nation’s financial system,” said Thomas J. Holloman, IRS-Criminal Investigation Special Agent in Charge of the Atlanta Field Office.

“With the importance of our banking system to the movement of money around the world, those attempting to use intricate schemes to commit bank fraud through the use of falsified documents and other means should know that the odds are now heavily stacked against them as law enforcement is combining its talents to protect the sanctity and integrity of the nation’s financial system.”
“Onyema setup various innocent-sounding multi-million dollar asset purchases which were nothing more than alleged fronts for his scam,” said acting Special Agent in Charge Robert Hammer, who oversees HSI operations in Georgia and Alabama.
“I’m proud to be part of a team of law enforcement agencies that come together to identify and attack criminals that attempt to profit from the exploitation of our nation’s financial systems.”
According to U.S. Attorney Pak, the indictment, and other information presented in court: Mr Onyema, a Nigerian citizen and businessman, is the founder and Chairman of several organizations that purport to promote peace across Nigeria, including the Foundation for Ethnic Harmony, International Centre for Non-Violence and Peace Development, and All-Time Peace Media Communications Limited.
Beginning in 2010, Onyema began travelling frequently to Atlanta, where he opened several personal and business bank accounts. Between 2010 and 2018, over $44.9 million was allegedly transferred into his Atlanta-based accounts from foreign sources.
Mr Onyema is also the CEO and Chairman of Nigerian airline Air Peace, which he founded in 2013. In years following the founding of Air Peace, he travelled to the United States and purchased multiple airplanes for the airline. However, over $3 million of the funds used to purchase the aircraft allegedly came from bank accounts for Foundation for Ethnic Harmony, International Centre for Non-Violence and Peace Development, All-Time Peace Media Communications Limited, and Every Child Limited.
Beginning in approximately May 2016, Mr Onyema, together with Mr Eghagha, allegedly used a series of export letters of credit to causing banks to transfer more than $20 million into Atlanta-based bank accounts controlled by Mr Onyema.
The letters of credit were purportedly to fund the purchase of five separate Boeing 737 passenger planes by Air Peace. The letters were supported by documents such as purchase agreements, bills of sale, and appraisals proving that Air Peace was purchasing the aircraft from Springfield Aviation Company LLC, a business registered in Georgia.
However, the supporting documents were fake — Springfield Aviation Company LLC, which is owned by Mr Onyema and managed by a person with no connection to the aviation business, never owned the aircraft, and the company that allegedly drafted the appraisals did not exist.
Mr Eghagha allegedly participated in this scheme as well, directing the Springfield Aviation manager to sign and send false documents to banks and even using the manager’s identity to further the fraud. After Mr Onyema received the money in the United States, he allegedly laundered over $16 million of the proceeds of the fraud by transferring it to other accounts.
Mr Onyema, 56, of Lagos, Nigeria, and Mr Eghagha, 37, of Lagos, Nigeria, were indicted on November 19, 2019, on one count of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, three counts of bank fraud, one count of conspiracy to commit credit application fraud, and three counts of credit application fraud. Additionally, Mr Onyema was charged with 27 counts of money laundering, and Mr Eghagha was charged with one count of aggravated identity theft.
Members of the public are reminded that the indictment only contains charges. The defendants are presumed innocent of the charges and it will be the government’s burden to prove the defendant’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.
The Drug Enforcement Administration, Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations, Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Commerce, and Department of Treasury are investigating this case.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Garrett L. Bradford, Deputy Chief of the Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Section and Lead Strike Force Attorney, Irina K. Dutcher, and Christopher J. Huber, Deputy Chief of the Complex Frauds Section, are prosecuting the case, with assistance from the Department of Justice’s Money Laundering and Asset Recovery Section and Office of International Affairs.
This prosecution was brought as a part of the Department of Justice’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) Co-located Strike Forces Initiative, which enables agents from different agencies to collaborate on intelligence-driven, multi-jurisdictional operations against a continuum of priority targets and their affiliate illicit financial networks.
These prosecutor-led co-located Strike Forces capitalize on the synergy created through the long-term relationships that can be forged by agents, analysts, and prosecutors who remain together over time, and they epitomize the model that has proven most effective in combating organized crime. The specific mission of the Atlanta Strike Force is to disrupt and dismantle the most significant drug trafficking and money laundering organizations designated as Consolidated Priority Organization Targets or Regional Priority Organization Targets and their affiliates impacting the Atlanta metropolitan area and the Northern District of Georgia.

THE NEW LEFT TURNS TO MOOD OF VIOLENCE IN PLACE OF PROTEST
Paul Hofman, The New York Times, 7 May 1967
“We are working to build a guerrilla force in an urban environment,” said the national secretary of the left-wing Students for a Democratic Society, Gregory Calvert, one day recently.
“We are actively organizing sedition,” he said.
Mr. Calvert, a 29-year-old former history teacher, spoke pleasantly about revolution in his dingy office on Chicago's Skid Row. The threat of violence in his words characterizes the current radicalization of the New Left.
A maze of factions with a penchant for verbosity and a hankering for actions, the New Left wants emphatically to be distinct from the old left—the socialist and Communist movements whose history goes back over generations.
Ebullience and Frustration Just how distinct it has become was made clear during a three-week series of interviews with some 75 New Left activists and sympathizers from coast to coast. Most of them were younger than 30, and some sounded much more truculent than members of the Moscow-oriented Communist party, U. S. A.
The spirit of resistance and direct action constitutes perhaps the major attitude in the New Left today. Other findings in this assessment of the New Left's mood are as follows:
An ebullience over the impact of opposition to the war in Vietnam, which emotionally involves some members of the middle class and leads them to New Left positions also on domestic issues.
A frustration resulting from the lack of New Left political power and the failures of “peace” candidates in national and local elections.
A virulent factionalism similar to the doctrinaire old left feuds, a factionalism that is being exploited by extremists. up with leftist and “anti-imperialist” movements in Latin America, Europe and emerging nations.
The growth of a broadening “hippie” segment, mainly on the East and West Coasts, occasionally Joining the New Left in demonstrations but also worrying it because drug users and beatniks tend to withdraw from society instead of attempting to reform or revolutionize it.
The drifting apart of young whites and Negroes, close allies in the civil rights battles in the South a few years ago, as black power extremism spreads in Northern ghettos.
‘Che Lives in Our Hearts' If there is one dominant hero of the New Left mood, perhaps he is Ernesto Che Guevara.
Mr. Calvert, the beardless, ruddy-faced national secretary of Students for a Democratic Society, said:
“Che’s message is applicable to urban America as far as the psychology of guerrilla action goes. . . . Che sure lives in our hearts.”
Che Guevara, the Argentine-born revolutionary who was an associate of Premier Fidel Castro of Cuba, disappeared more than two years ago and is rumored to be leading insurgents somewhere in the Andean fastnesses.
A long way from the South American sierras, a surprising number of young left-wing intellectuals were found to revere the Argentinian adventurer. Rebellious students who spoke with equal disdain about “Establishment liberals” and “Communist squares” professed the cult of the “pure” man of revolutionary action.
Posters of Che Guevara and of Malcolm X, the black nationalist slain here two years ago, are advertised for sale “at special bulk rates” in a San Francisco monthly, The Movement. The radical publication disaffiliated recently from the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, the militant, Southern-oriented movement that used to be one of the pillars of the New Left but has lately veered toward black power goals and away from Students for a Democratic Society.
‘I'm No Pacifist' Che Guevara’s bearded likeness was encountered on the walls of the littered offices of radical newspapers and left-wing groups. His name cropped up in talks in college cafeterias whenever the New Left’s current infatuation with direct action was mentioned.
“I recognize that violence may be necessary, I'm no pacifist,” said a vibrant young woman who has done much work for the New Left, Leni Zeiger. “I’m a white, middle-class girl, but I understand why Negroes, Puerto Ricans or Okies riot. I feel the same frustrations in myself, the same urge to violence.”
Ann Arbor is important on the New Left map because Students for a Democratic Society was born there some six year ago. The movement’s first national convention in Port Huron Mich., in June, 1962, produce a basic New Left manifesto.
This rejected “paranoiac anti-Communism” while blaming the Soviet Union for suppressing opposition. It strongly attacked American capitalism, denounce the “hypocrisy of America ideals” and advocated a vaguely defined . “participatory democracy.”
Several S.D.S. member asked for practical examples of “participatory democracy” in action, pointed to the Yugoslav system of workers’ council running nationalized business enterprises.
Amendments to the “Port Huron Statement” have made the S.D.S. program completely agnostic on Communism, opening the door to membership of Communists.
Since then, Students for Democratic Society has gone through various phases, aided the Student Nonviolence Coordinating Committee in the South, it went into the Northern ghettos to organize their inhabitants, and lately it has swung back onto the campus.
Some of the ghetto efforts a still alive. Among them are the Newark Community Unity Project—directed by Tom Hayden, a cofounder of S.D.S. a main author of the Port Huron manifesto— and Chicago’s Jobs or Income Now (J.O.I.N.).
In the short but lively history of S.D.S., 1967 is the year of the “prairie guys,” the national leaders who were elect at a convention in a Methodist camp at Clear Lake, Iowa, in September. Nick Egleson, president, Carl Davidson, vice president, Mr. Calvert and their friends are leading S.D.S., in Davidson’s words, “from protest to resistance."
Action Above Ideology Mr. Calvert described himself as a “post-Communist revolutionary," putting action above ideology. Dee Jacobsen, assistant national secretary a headquarters manager, said t North Vietnamese whom S.D.S representatives had got in touch with “cannot understand we don't take any direct action."
The three-room, $125-a-month national headquarters of Students for a Democratic Society is at 1608 West Madison Street Chicago's Skid Row. It is close to the area of last summer’s Negro rioting.
Despite the squalid settling, the headquarters looks more affluent than it did at its torn location near the University Chicago campus on the city’s South Side.
Last year there was picturesque clutter: now there is disorderliness. There are boxes outgoing and incoming mail, staffers who answer telephones and an ancient safe with a combination lock.
"We are getting ready the revolution." Mr. Jacobsen joked with a thin smile while visitor remarked on the new look.
Mr. Jacobsen said he abandoned psychiatric hospital work to become a full-time S.D.S. organizer because he thought “my life was getting unbelievable.”
Mr. Calvert and Mr. Jacob said S.D.S. had some 200 chapters, with 8,000 dues-pay members and at least 25.1 other supporters who participated in chapter activities.
These activities, the S.D.S. leaders said, are centered on enlisting young men to evade military duty by “insubordinate, legal and illegal emigration Canada, going underground America—everything.’’
Students for a Democratic Society is organizing “draft resistance unions" and has “national draft resistance ordinator."
A Change of Plan The resistance-fomenting leadership has only contempt for electoral campaigns “peace" candidates and is hostile toward more protest demonstrations. The leadership first decided not to participate in Spring Mobilization anti-war demonstrations of last April deeming them a futile exert but was overruled at a meeting of the movement’s national council in Cambridge early in April.
The national leaders still not seem to think much of mobilization, and they have hinted at possibly even sterner action than resistance to the draft.
"Some of our members undoubtedly will help” in ghetto riots this summer, Mr. Jacobsen said.
A former S.D.S. organizer, who asked that he not be named, ridiculed the present leadership’s talk of urban guerrillas.
"Greg Calvert has read something about leftist terrorist commandos in Caracas,” he said, "and he and his friends think they are Venezuelans. They are becoming a sect. Romantic and out of touch with reality.”
He said infiltrators from the pro-Peking Progressive Labor party had gained control of a least one S.D.S. chapter in Chicago. He did not name it.
Other New Left moderates suggested that the verbal militancy in S.D.S. headquarter might mask an inferiority complex vis-i-vis Negro racists who had already made up their minds that violence was necessary to attain black power.
“Black nationalists are stacking Molotov cock tails and studying how they can hold a few city blocks in an uprising, how to keep off the fire brigade and the police so that the National Guard must be called out,” a white Ohio student said. "And they're right. We ought to help them where we can, but we oughtn’t be hung up with leading or liberating the Negroes."
In Praise of Black Power Mr. Calvert conceded that S.D.S. had few Negro member He said:
“Black power is absolutely necessary. When we have organized the white radicals we can link up with the Negro radicals."
This seemed to imply a lack of such a link at present.
In the view of Jack Newfield, assistant editor of The Village Voice, the Greenwich Village newspaper, and a former S.D.S member, the radicalization of New Left movements results from a feeling of hopelessness “The situation is getting more oppressive," he said. “Look at Alabama, look at Georgia, look at the war in Vietnam."
At the Internal Security Division of the Department of Justice, an official said “it is obvious that these [New Left] groups are becoming more and more vociferous and threatening“ in protesting against the war in Vietnam and calling for sedition.” However, he said was unable to comment on he serious a threat to law and order these groups were.
He said that “we are following closely the activities some of these groups,” keeping in mind that the First Amendment to the Constitution protects freedom of speech. He said violations of the Universal Military Training and Service Act and the Sedition Act were being investigated but declined to indicate whether prosecutions were on the increase.
Talks with police officers a community leaders in various cities found most in agreement that only a small hard core leftist activists is determined to defy the law—maybe no more than a few hundred across the nation. The number of young New Left militants who advocate violence is grown, it was found, but whether the increasingly radical talk can be translated into unlawful action is controversial.
A potential threat to law and order from New Left radicals was seen in areas where racial disorders this summer are feared, including Cleveland, Chicago and, possibly New York.
Numerically, the New Left remains weak. The figure 200,000 adherents nationwide that is often mentioned by sympathizers seems exaggerated.
Staughton Lynd’s View In the New Left itself, campus talk about direct act Is only rarely frightening, does not frighten Staughton Lynd, who at the age of 38 often called an "elder statesman" of the New Left.
The guerrilla concept is "is descriptive" of the new radical trend, he said in an interview. He appeared to distinguish tween active violence and civil disobedience, which he himself practiced at the end of 1966 when he defied the United States Government and visited Hanoi with Mr. Hayden, S.D.S. cofounder, and Dr. Hebert Aptheker, the leading theoretician of the Communist Party, U.S.A.
Mr. Lynd, an associate professor of history at Yale University, who has been influenced by Quaker pacifism, said he expected to receive a leave of absence from Yale and move to Chicago teach at an S.D.S.-backed course for community organizers. Graduates of the school may assist draft resistors or defend the interests of the poor in housing and welfare, he said.
Mr. Lynd stressed that “solid base of local organization" was more important the New Left than going quickly into national politics.
“I believe in local polital candidates” of the New Left said.
A more sanguine assessment of the New Left's political sensibilities was given by Booth, who was S.D.S. national secretary before Mr. Calvert. Mr. Booth said in Chicago that the defeats of New Left “peace” candidates in year’s primaries and Congressional elections “have given people a better sense of how much work is to be done” to win political power.
Third-Party Idea Mr. Booth said the idea setting up a third party or antiwar and New Loft platform deserved consideration.
He expressed hope that “in three months” a vast audience would rally behind Rev. Dr. Marlin' Luther King Jr., the civil rights leader and Nobel Peace Prize winner, and Dr. Benjamin Spock, the pediatrician and antiwar leader, as candidates for President and Vice President. Dr. King has said he does not intend to run.
Mr. Booth, a 23-year-old Swarthmore College graduate, is a board member of the National Conference for New Politics. ("Those left liberals!" Mr. Calvert sneered when the group was mentioned to him.)
The conference was established last year to help New Left and antiwar forces win political Influence. Cochairmen are Julian Bond of the Georgia Legislature and Simon Casidy, a California Democrat. Dr. Spock was among the founders.
Another backer of Dr. King is Robert Scheer, the 31-year-old managing editor of Ramparts magazine. During a visit to New York he predicted broad popular support for the clergyman.
"I cannot think of any Negro minister attacking him,” Mr. Scheer said. “Stokely Carmichael [chairman of the S.N.C.C.] embraced him publicly. The extremists will have to go along.”
Mr. Scheer knows how to sound pretty extremist himself. In the Spring Mobilization rally In San Francisco he called President Johnson a “murderer” who was aiming at a “final solution” in Vietnam. The term “final solution” was used in official Nazi documents to describe the destruction of Jews ordered by Hitler.
The executive director of the Conference for New Politics, William F. Pepper, said in an interview at the group’s New York headquarters, at 250 West 57th Street, that "we aren’t a bunch of liberal do-gooders, we are revolutionary.” (“Liberal” is a dirty word in the New Left.)
He said the conference aimed at affiliating with the hundreds of antiwar committees and left-oriented “single-issue and multi-issue” groups that had sprung up throughout the country.
Mr. Pepper said he once was a campaign coordinator for Senator Robert F. Kennedy in Westchester County but that in his present activity he was not “fronting for Senator Kennedy.”
A Meeting With Kennedy Senator Kennedy has shown interest in the New Left and some time ago had a long talk with Mr. Lynd and Mr. Hayden at his home here. The meeting was arranged by Mr. Newfield. who is working on a biography of the Senator.
It was an aide of Dr. King, the Rev. James Bevel, who served as national director of the Spring Mobilization. The protest Idea was originally conceived by pacifists around the Rev. A. J. Muste, who died last Feb. 11.
While Dr. King jolted the civil rights movement by saying that it was vitally connected with the campaign against the war in Vietnam, leftists became prominent in the mobilization campaign. Some moderates withdrew.
The antiwar rally on April 15 In San Francisco's 62,000-seat Kezar Stadium, which was almost filled, was directed by a 21-year-old Trotskyite, Kipp Dawson. Outside the stadium, members of a Los Angeles-based pro-Peking group, wearing homemade uniforms with red-star insignia, sold copies of the “little red book" anthology of Chairman Mao Tse-tung's thoughts. The Maoists had denounced the April 15 demonstrations as a "revisionist Trotskyite betrayal." but did not pass up its possibilities for propaganda.
The W. E. B. Dubois Clubs, widely regarded as an unofficial youth arm of the Communist Party, U. S. A., played a subdued role In the antiwar drive or were missing altogether. Leftists of various shades wondered why.
An attempt to obtain an explanation at the Chicago national headquarters of the clubs was unsuccessful. The two-room office In the Great Lakes Building, 180 North Wacker Drive, was closed, and the telephone was disconnected.
A Theory About the Club Some DuBois Clubs have ceased their advertising of activities in local student publications. A Negro undergraduate had his own theory of why the clubs, which are named after a dead Negro Marxist scholar, seem dormant:
“The Communist Party desperately wants to look liberal and respectable. These DuBois cats, square as they are, are too swingin’ for the party bureaucrats.”
A former DuBois leader, Michael Myerson, is director of a newly formed Tri-Continental Information Center here that, according to a recent announcement. “has established contacts with anti-imperialist organizations and movements throughout the world.” Among the sponsors are Communist party members such as Dr. Aptheker, S.D.S. backers and Dr. Spock.
Mr. Myerson, a 26-year-old University of California graduate, said the members of the center were offering their services and support as Individuals and not as representatives of any organizations. The group has an office at 1133 Broadway and a two-man staff. It said It would issue a monthly bulletin and a series of pamphlets and would send fact-finding missions "to areas suffering from United States domination."
Students for a Democratic Society, too, is branching out internationally. A new Radical Education Project calls for creation of a network of "scholars, journalists, leftist youth leaders. government officials, guerrilla leaders, etc.," to gather international intelligence on insurgent movements and foreign policy developments.
The Young Socialist Alliance, an appendage of the Trotskyite Socialist Workers party, thoroughly committed its small but disciplined membership to the Spring Mobilization demonstration.
The Trotskyites’ advocacy of all-embracing. “nonexclusive” antiwar alliances is met with deep distrust by many New Left adherents.
‘Liars’ a Student Says "The Trotskyites are liars and just want to take over the entire left,” a Harvard University student said.
A visitor to the Spring Mobilization headquarters in San Francisco, a few days after the April 15 demonstrations, found the organizing committee's director there, the petite Miss Dawson, counting money contributions and arranging for the payment of bills.
It quickly developed during an interview that Miss Dawson's revolutionary idol is Che Guevara.
"The Cuban revolution is the most exciting thing that has happened In our time,” said the Young Socialist Alliance activist, who was not yet born when Leon Trotsky was murdered in Mexico in 1940.
Trotsky, one of the chief organizers of the Russian October Revolution of 1917, advocated world revolution and establishment of uncompromising “pure", Communism. He was forced into I exile by Stalin. Followers of Trotsky's doctrine of “permanent revolution” are influential in some Latin-American countries.
While the heirs of the old left thus identify with Che Guevara. his book "Guerrilla Warfare”—and not Mao’s little red book—is becoming part of the young radicals’ field kit.

Never speak ill of the dead...Joey Manley and the Death of Donna Mae Dean
The copyright on the book jacket says 1991.  That sounds about right.  Joey Manley who was a young queen from Russellville, Alabama wrote a book titled: “The Death of Donna- Mae Dean”  When it first appeared in print, it was the talk of the “town” among the queens at Wilson Park.  I never knew exactly whether the book was a success or not, it went out of print sometime around 2000. But since it was set in Florence, or as he named our fair little metropolis in the book, Genoa, and the plot revolved around a fictional park and the queens  cruised it, this was hot copy.  It became a parlor game to match the characters in the book to actual queens living and dead at the park and in town.  Everybody had their own character and of course all claimed to be one of the two main characters.  I recently found a copy on Amazon for sale and since I had lost my copy years ago, bought it for a rereading.  30 years later the book doesn’t age well.
Let me do a little pedigree on Joey Manley....he was sort of nondescript, generic little guy...I first met him at the park.  Little Mark Hale introduced me to him one night.  Let me relate how I met Mark Hale (statute of limitations have expired I am sure).  I lived in an apartment complex sometime in the early 80′s, named Stonehurst and was unloading groceries and this cute young boy was sitting on a picnic table across the street from the apartments.  He asked if I needed help.  I did and he did and one beer led to 6 and with nightfall the arrival of Countessa and “crew” for the nightly party and the next morning I awoke with the cutest little boy in my bed.  I said I had to get dressed for work and he asked if I would take him to school.  I did, HIGH SCHOOL!  Anyway, he kept coming around and was introduced to “society” and was an instant hit at the park and all points north, south east and west.  He was about the same age as Joey Manley when he introduced me.  They were both maybe in their late teens then.  Joey was cute but strange and somehow I never really liked him and don’t really have any stories on him.  He was kind of a milk toast personality as I remember.  He went on to journalism school at Alabama I believe then moved to Atlanta and eventually to San Francisco but somewhere along the way wrote this book.  Mark and Joey both are dead now unfortunately but there are some happy memories related to Mark Hale.....Joey Manley, as I said,  was kind of a blip on the radar other than writing the book.
The book has as its main characters Keller and Thomas who are two old queens which live in a large rundown Victorian house next to the park and take in this young butch number who has ran away from home named Jamie.  It has all this conversation at the start of the book between all of them that is supposed to be campy but now in rereading just seems kind of silly and dated and they have a party where a few other characters arrive.  Before this in the book he met another young guy named Jimmy ( who even back in the day we ALL knew was patterned after Mark Hale) and Jamie falls in love. But Jimmy dumps him.  At the party he uses several names for the guest...Little Nell (Laura Nelle Cotrell), La Gioconda (the latin queen we called Soberina)  Mercedes DeVille ( an amalgamation of several queens with “family” money)  Cookie Monster (the REAL Cookie Monster was Miss Mike May) and several others but none ROTCGC sanctioned or approved. And not nearly as funny in this printed version as in real life.  Who were these people anyway?  We had our OWN fantasy world FOR REAL and the least Miss Manley could have done is retold it with a little panache!  In the book it turns out the whole story of Donna Mae was actually the character Keller’s alter ego when he tried to commit suicide and failed.  Not NEARLY as entertaining or scandalous as the real life version.  “Taint fittin, taint fittin, just taint fittin”  it was just WRONG!
It is funny in rereading this how utterly ordinary it all seems now.  Back then it was actually kind of shocking.  To have a story told so thinly veiled that was obviously about Florence and Florence queers seemed so bizarre and fabulous.  Today, it just seems quaint.  I guess I really have stayed at the party too long or can see the party through older eyes and it really wasn’t as wonderful as it seemed.  Or I just need to have a good bowel movement. :)  Anyway, the book is Death of Donna Mae Dean by Joey Manley@ St Martins Press.  A few copies are available on Amazon.  Skewed, fictionalized history BUT the main character; Keller, WAS patterned after Beau “Lucille” Lowery, founding member of the Royalty of the Tri-Cities Girls Cotillion, and I will go to my grave believing it.

12 Home Inspection Franchise Opportunities
Before new homeowners can take control of their new residence, most require a home inspection. This is an essential part of the real estate buying process. As such, it’s an industry that can thrive in nearly any market. In fact, more than 90 percent of home sales include a home inspection. So for those who are skilled in home improvement projects and home-related issues, this may be a profitable business opportunity. Though some choose to start their own home inspection businesses from scratch, a franchise can help you get started quicker. Franchise opportunities give aspiring business owners access to proven systems and recognizable brand names. And there are several companies that offer franchising programs for home inspections. 12. TruBlue Total House Care
TruBlue doesn’t provide the same type of inspections as many other franchise programs in the industry. Instead, this business focuses on helping seniors and busy families with their home projects. This niche helps to set the company apart. And these target markets also tend to offer fairly profitable service opportunities. One of their biggest services is senior safety inspections. So franchisees or team members go into customer homes to evaluate what changes need to be made to improve conditions. The fee for the franchises is $39,500 for your first territory. And total upfront costs range from $59,650 to $86,000.
How Much is a Home Inspection Franchise?
A home inspection franchise costs between about $30,000 and $260,000. Most franchises fall somewhere in between $40,000 and $60,000. This is one of the most affordable franchise businesses to break into since many franchisees can run their operations from home and without a lot of overhead.
Do You Need a Home Inspection License?
Yes, in certain states, anyone who will be inspecting homes, both you and your employees, will need a home inspection license. These licenses are issued by specific states using standardized exams and certification programs. Certification is regulated in the following states:
Washington
Nevada
Arizona
New Mexico
Texas
Oklahoma
North Dakota
South Dakota
Arkansas
Louisiana
Mississippi
Alabama
Tennessee
Kentucky
Illinois
Wisconsin
Indiana
Ohio
Florida
North Carolina
South Carolina
Washington D.C.
Maryland
New Jersey
New York
Connecticut
Rhode Island
Massachusetts
New Hampshire
How Do You Start a Home Inspections Business?
Starting a home inspection franchise can be complex. First you may need to get licensed, then you need to market your business to local realtors. You also need a set process or checklist for completing your inspections. Once you start to build some business, providing quality service can help you grow through word of mouth. However, home inspection franchises allow you to sidestep a lot of that initial setup work. Starting with an established brand and set of processes can help you get off the ground much faster with your franchise.
