Meet and Greet
( @azraelthereaper starter)
Things were getting colder as the seasons began to shift. The days were growing shorter while nights grew longer. Some trees began to change, their leaves turning warm and colorful, Leaves of red, yellow, and orange would fall from their swaying branches- while other trees remained the same lush dark green.
It was... New. And beautiful. It was unlike anything Aldur had ever seen. A stark contrast to the ruined buildings of earth's extinct civilization, and the death that still lie in its wake.  It was almost peaceful, but moments like this were quite short for Aldur, as he was always on the move. One hiding spot to another, until he could find a safe space where he can lie low, and rest.  As of now, Aldur had been trekking through EDZ for quite some time. It'd been a few days since he'd been able to take a proper rest. Most water was not safe to drink, and food was scarce. The lack of necessary resources made sleep even harder to come by, if not nearly impossible.
By the time Aldur had found an abandoned path leading to another ruined part of the city, he was exhausted. Heavily deprived of any proper care, and a very easy target should anyone cross paths with him, which at this point he could only hope wouldn't happen.
"Just a little further, we're almost there!" Aavis would chirp enthusiastically as they drifted alongside Aldur, moving at a bit faster pace than the hive knight. "Maybe once we get there we can look around for any vendors with some supplies, or even look around some of those old warehouses."
Aldur only grumbled incoherently, very visibly showing his exhaustion as he looked to his companion.
"Or- rest. Rest would also be good, and some sustenance." Aavis would quickly follow up as she hovers back closer to Aldur. "You definitely deserve it." She tries to reassure him, but he only grunts in response as he looks ahead at the faint light coming from the ruins as the sun begins to set on the horizon.
They would arrive soon, not too long after that very short conversation. The two would arrive at the small ruined settlement. At this time it began to lightly drizzle with the last bit of sunlight slowly sinking down into the horizon.
They would enter the settlement from within another building, pulling up his scarf and hood, Aldur keeps himself subtle as he sticks close to the side of buildings with a hunched figure, making him look a bit smaller. Most of it was to keep a low profile, but staying close to the wall did provide some support for him should his legs give out.
“Stay close,” Aldur says to Aavis as she drifts above Aldur, a bit obvious, especially with her shell- however, it couldn't be helped now, could it?

New oc drop, this is my Destiny Hive oc. His name is Aldurgoth the Deserter, and he was a Hive Knight (Titan) lightbearer apart of Savathun's lucant hive until he decided that he didn't agree with the queen's ideals and also didn't want to put his hive ghost Aavicia (Aavis for short) in danger.
I started playing destiny with my pals, they helped my through The Witch Queen Campaign, and I IMMEDIATELY fell in love with the hive. They are so fuck'n cool and have such amazing lore.
Can't wait to learn more about em <3

Somw sketches of my Hive oc Aldur and his ghost Aavis, featuring one of my friend's guardian OCs as a little size comparison.
He looks more like a hunter in that last sketch I made, but I promise he's a titan. He uses those swords essentially like two great swords so I wouldn't get too close if I were you, unless you'd like to turned into a board of diced mest chunks.

RUNAWAY (Part 1)
Little thing I wrote for my Destiny OC Aldur (A Titan Hive Knight) kinda helping set up the events that lead him to abandon the lucent hive and go on a journey to find himself and also more about the universe and other races as a whole. In other words, it was a little prompt that I decided to just write- so, yeah.
Enjoy, or don't. _____________________________________________________________

It was getting harder and harder to push back the invading forces, though their numbers were severely dwarfed in comparison to the swarming hive, they were able to cut down nearly a quarter of the hive's forces with only a fraction of their destructive and expansive firepower. They’d already managed to cut down nearly half of their forces as they began to take up more and more ground, determined to decimate any and all living obstructions standing in their way.
Aldur would throw his right arm up,  just in time to shield himself from the impact of a pulse grenade. Several thralls that had taken a defensive position around the knight’s feet were blasted into embers, Aldur wouldn't put his shield down until the remains of his fallen allies had settled, and the grenade had finished its detonation. It cleared the last quarter of their forces that stood between the guardians and the three knights fighting ferociously dead center of the swarm.
This meant that the second Aldur had his shield down, he immediately swung out his glaive, slamming the massive blade down into the blood-soaked marble in front of him. It clips a guardian, a warlock who was sprinting straight at him with a spell, narrowly prepared to cast onto him as a stasis crystal shatters in their palm- defunct. They fall in front of the knight, trying to conjure a spell from what was left of the stasis crystal. Aldur however, didn’t waste a single opportune moment given to him as he raises one of his pedes and slams it down onto the warlock. The guardian gasps to an audible CRACK! The blue gem falls to dust again in their palm as they weakly grip Aldur’s boot, desperate to pry the knight off of them.
Aldur growls, glowering down at the wriggling creature as he raises his shield over them. Before Aldur could finish them off though he’s ambushed by a barrage of bullet fire, causing him to grunt in surprise as his attention is averted to a titan in dark red armor, brandishing a heavy machine gun.
Aldur would curse them out in hive, snarling as he pulls up his shield to protect his carapace. His eyes would flick back to where he’d pinned the warlock, only to now find them sprinting past him across the battlefield in a purple aura, free from his clutches. Aldur waits for a momentary pause in the onslaught of bullet fire, only then does he throw his shield up behind him and swing his glaive down twice onto the titan. The first strike only clips the guardian, the second however slams them straight into the ground, leaving them limp in a pile of red and rubble. As Aldur stares down at the mostly lifeless Guardian, he’s alerted by an aggravated roar from across the battlefield. His body spins around to face the opposite end of the courtyard. Zagryx, another hive knight titan, was being torn apart by the pack of light-bearers. He throws his shield up to counter the slew of attacks as a hunter pounces towards him but is quickly taken from behind as the warlock Aldur had encountered earlier once again conjures a stasis crystal, this time using what they couldn’t only Aldur to lock the knight’s legs and right arm. The giant hive roared, swinging his one free arm wildly to try and bash the wolves away, but his attempts were futile. His roars of outrage turn into screams of pain as they begin chipping away at his carapace, slowly cutting him down, and for a moment- Aldur found himself frozen . . .

Days Earlier . . .
Aldurgoth wanders the white crystalline halls of an enigmatic palace, trying to find an escape from the bickering of his fellow hive knights. A hive with his status was supposed to manage said bickering and banter from getting out of hand, but how could he when so much has changed in such a short amount of time? Since his resurrection, he couldn’t recover a single memory from his past. Only the knowledge of who and what he was, as well as his status and functionality. He served as a seasoned knight within the lucent hive, despite knowing little of what had happened in his absence and why he was now filled with the light. Aldurgoth fought and served with at most loyalty for his brethren and hive kind, his amnesia did not change that. Everything else though did. He had questions, many questions, questions he’d never thought of asking before, and questions he knew would ignite suspicion amongst his peers. Or, most of them anyway. One knight shared in his ever-growing confusion and curiosity. Another hive knight ‘guardian’ wished to be called Zagryx, as he was unable to recall his original name. He was a true knight, expressing undying allegiance and dedication to the hive and its monarch, Queen Savathun. He shared in trying to live with a clouded past, acknowledging that whoever he was before was now dead. However, unlike Aldurgoth, he approached everything with an optimistic perception. He showed far more positivity than any knight he’d ever met (since his resurrection) and was the only knight who didn’t seem intimidated or challenged by Aldurgoth’s presence. Honestly, their outgoing personality even intimidated Aldurgoth a little, who at first didn’t really pay any mind to Zagryx, believing it might’ve been a ploy to bring his guard down, however since their meeting the two knights had formed a mutually respectful and open relationship, and neither had tried turning against one another. That being said, whenever Aldurgoth found himself walking the halls alone, he knew Zagryx wouldn’t be too far behind. {“Aldurgoth!”}  The knight pauses in place, looking over his shoulder to see the slightly smaller and leaner hive knight trudging quickly up to his from behind. {“I was wondering where you had gone,”} Zagryx chitters with a bright look on his face as he slows until he stops beside Aldurgoth. {“I should have known you’d be here, mind if I join you?”} He asks. {“No, I do not,”} Aldurgoth responds as he begins walking again at a slow contemplative pace. {“What has you seeking me out this time. .?”} The larger knight asks, glancing over to Zagryx. The hive knight is quiet for a moment. {“I- needed an audience,”} Zagryx pondered, seeming almost reluctant at first. {“Might I inquire about something with you?”}
Aldurgoth stares at Zagryx with a perplexed expression, looking about for a moment to see if anyone else was present in the long corridor. As for as Aldurgoth could tell, they were alone. {“Of course, what is it?”} He deeply clicks, looking down at Zagryx once again.
{“I was speaking with Runidus about the light again, and I started to wonder,”} Zagryx comes to a pause once more. {“Do you. . . Think it is possible to speak to the other guardians?”} Aldurgoth is unsure how to respond as Zagryx goes quiet. Their gaze now averting Aldurgoth’s gaze as they look down ahead of them. Aldurgoth also looks away for a moment, thinking to himself. He’d never thought about directly interacting with the guardians before. After all, before the hive had been given the light, there was no reason to directly interact with the guardians. If anything, their relationship was always drawn with a wedge between ideology and their commanding officers. Also like most other races in the galaxy, the hive was never really seen as a race of optimal communication or negotiation, at least- that is how most saw them. Aldur had the strong belief that all guardians only saw their kind and anyone that didn’t possess that light, as meek and defenseless life forms in need of guidance, or an unhinged force of darkness that only sought to take or destroy it.
There was an air of nobility and truth in their morality, however, it is ignorant to believe that everything that fights against the guardians is evil and cruel, unwilling to change or negotiate. But now, the hive also possessed the light. They were even regarded as ‘hive guardians’. They now possessed the same energy and source of immortality as other light-bearers, and yet, Aldur hadn’t ever considered trying to communicate with them. The question is, would they ever be given a chance to? Could they feel, remorse? For killing other light-bearers? {“ I am . . . Unsure,”} Aldurgoth replied, in an equally deep state of contemplation as he looked to Zagryx again, who was looking up at him expectantly. {“There could be a place and time, but I do not know where or when it would be acceptable.”} {“What if it didn’t have a place or time,”}  Zagryx is quick to follow up. {“The light has created a link between them and us, we share its life force and power, If we speak to them- maybe they would understand us more.”}  They explain, briefly looking at themselves and the surrounding architecture. {“Mmm, The light may have provided us with the direction,”} Aldurgoth begins, bringing Zagryx’s attention back. {“But it will take the hands of all sides to build the path to each other.”} Aldurgoth explains. There is a momentary pause of silence again, Aldurgoth would look at Zagryx once again. The look on their face was. . . strange to Aldurgoth. Their eyes were smaller and warmer looking, with their big set of somewhat crooked menacing-looking teeth. They looked, beyond content. They looked, proud. {“Understanding the concept of it will bring us closer to each other.”}

Present Day. . .
Aldur was so distracted that he didn’t see the red titan rising up from the rubble behind him. By the time Aldur had noticed the titan was on their feet again it was too late. A live and ignited grenade detonates against his shield, releasing a burst of blinding energy and knocking the hive knight to the ground. His vision went white as the ground beneath him began to spin, he could hear Zagryx still struggling against their attackers while Aldur struggled to find balance on his feet. He shook his helm frantically, trying to shake off the tremors running through his carapace done by the force of the blast. Getting up on his pedes, only to stumble forward again. Aldur would look up towards Zagryx, his vision slowly seeping back just as he sees Zagryx’s frame fall to the floor. Shield sliding away from his frame. His helm was limp with his jaw lulling open, pouring out a river of bright emerald blood. Zagryx looks to Aldur, expression frozen with a look of shock that slowly goes blank as the light in their eyes slowly burns out, extinguishing.
He watches as a flurry of light particles gather over the fallen knight, there’s a flash as Runidus, Zagryx’s ghost is summoned over him. The hive ghost looks down at the knight’s remains, and without a moment’s pause began to scan the hive’s broken frame. Before they could finish scanning Zagryx though, they are firmly snatched by a guardian looming over the Hive’s carcass. They stare up at the hooded figure, shifting sporadically as they try to escape the guardian’s grip, which only grew stronger and stronger. Runidus shrieks in pain until in a blink of an eye, they are crushed into splinters of bone and light. At this point, Aldur’s vision had returned completely with his eyes more open than they had ever been before. He grabbed the shield that had been slid towards him, and slammed his ignited glaive into the ground, as he bellows out from the depths of his wriggling core. “NO-O!!”
Heads turn as the anguished roar carries across the battlefield, Aldur was now charging toward the guardians with a never seen fire in his eyes. They begin to prepare for his arrival, only to be caught unprepared as the knight leaps and crashes down over them. There’s ear shattering bellow as the knight slams his firey glaive down over them, sending a wave of fire out from beneath him. A hunter is quickly burned to a crisp as another falls crippled to the ground. They try to right themselves but are nearly bisected as Aldur’s blade stabs into them, barely being held together he grabs them and slams them into a wall, shattering their rib cage as blood and organs spill out from the gaping dissection. Their body crumples to the ground, splatting like wet moss. The enraged hive then turned to the other guardians, three others who were now closing in on his. Aldur’s wrath grew, as he lets out a guttural roar and swings his blade toward them. It slashes one of them to the side, causing them to roll away and break from the assault while the other two guardians are engaged. He sees one of them conjuring yet another powerful crystal, and having seen what they’d done to Zagryx before strafes to the side. Their spell catches his shield and right pede, which only contains him for a few moments before he breaks free. They began firing at him, his crown and chest, forcing him to pull up his shield but allowing him to build up his anger. The swell of his aching worm built up more and more, until he rushed towards the pair, his shield igniting into flames as he slams them both into a pillar, causing it to immediately crumble and fall on top of them. Aldur was about to spin around to face off with what remains until his eye caught the familiar floating node beside the pillar. A ghost, a guardian’s ghost. It quickly drifts over towards the pillar, only to be slammed yards back into the ground by Aldur’s shield. He watches the ghost crash and crumples to the ground, pieces of its shell breaking off. This does not kill it, however, as it slowly reboots itself and begins to hover only inches from the ground. The knight trudged closer towards the ghost, overshadowing it with his towering visage. His bright amber red eyes stare hatefully down at the small light-bearing creature, and as he slowly raised his pede over it- the ghost would look up to Aldur. They stared up at him, and he could sense their dread. Fear was pouring out from his core, filling its aura. Like any living creature. Like a guardian. Or a hive. . .
He hesitates, still glowering down at the tiny and very easily overlooked entity. A sister to the same entity he just watched them destroy, shatter to pieces with no remorse, no heart. How could they, couldn’t they see? {“Understanding the concept of it, Will bring us closer to each other”}  Zagryx’s words creep into his mind.
They were the same. They were all the same. And yet, they destroyed them. As his pede begins to lower to the ground, he is abruptly body slammed by an unseen force, causing him to slide and be thrown back yards away from the ghost and the place in which he once stood. Aldur shakes his helm and brings his shield and glaive close against him. The titan he’d crushed earlier was back, now wielding their own glowing fists of whirling light energy. They stood in front of Aldur for a moment, making what felt like eye contact with him, until they again leaped towards Aldur. The hive knight brings up Zagryx’s shield, but the flaring light energy burns him and pushes him back yet again. He feels another surge as Aldur lifts and shield and swings his glaive down again, but the titan leaps out of the way. Aldur isn’t able to react fast enough as the titan catapults up towards his face and strikes their iron fist across Aldur’s face through the horn of his helmet. Pieces of his helmet fall to the ground as Aldur is pushed back again, this time leaving him hunched over with orange blood drooling from his gaping maw. The titan is able to get another strike in as they and on top of Aldur’s right shoulder, nearly forcing him to the ground as Aldur falls to one knee. Aldur lets out a deep guttural growl before he picks himself up again. The titan tries to charge him from the side again, but he catches them this time as he backhands them nearly over a ledge.
The hive rolls his shoulders and spins to face the titan, with another insectly-like growl of guttural clicking and groans, he charges at the titan slamming his shield down onto them. They were pinned, near dead, but before Aldur could finish them off, he is scorned in the back by another grenade.
He exclaims in agonizing pain and turns back to see to his dismay the other guardians. Having all been healed and were now fully charged. They began an onslaught of weapon fire, attempting to break the Aldur’s carapace as they had with Zagryx.
Aldur managed to again cut down one of them and slowly began building up his mana once again. But before he could send the hounds back in another wave of fire, he is uppercut by the titan who was beneath them, once against sending them back, however, this time- the fall would hurt a lot more than the punch.
Tumblr media
The hive knight plummets, roaring as he disappears into the thick smog. The cold cuts past his face until finally with a cacophony of cracks and slams into the rocky walls, he crashes into a chasm.
The knight lies on his back, staring up at the distant pastel light from the glimmering crystalline palace and bright stygian sky that was flicking in and out of his gaze.
“Zag. . .”
Aldur mutters, a small flash dispersing beside him.
“Zagryx. . .”
His vision begins to fade as he sees Aavicia’s shadow hovering over him.
“I’m. . . Sorry. . .”
