Does Heartstar/Tigerstar II have thalassophobia(fear of deep water/drowning) would certainly make sense given his family's entire Deal with the lake. Also does Rowanstar drowning in the Moonpool mean that there's just. A rotting corpse in the moonpool now? Don't the medcats drink from that water?! (Sorry if yiu see this twice! I think tumblr deleted my ask?
I've said it before and I'll say it again. The desire to CinemaSins Ding poetic imagery is the death of visual metaphor and the bane of creativity. Kill the impulse. The moonpool is as deep and clean as it needs to be in spite of being canonically a stillwater pool and logically full of algae and microbes. Magic cat god water, full of StarClan Magic (tm)
We do not need to see the cats fishing Rowanstar's body out, or an accurate estimate of pool depth, or its PH level. StarClan's emotions do wonderful things when miracles occur. A wizard with a big pool cleaning net did it.

if you had been writing the women in metal gear what would you change with them (a lot i know) because i feel like just the idea of women being written well in metal gear will benefit us all
I'm answering but just so we all know my qualifications here are just that I'm a woman I am not a writer or game designer or whatever also as it goes on I get more pissed off so it gets a little messy structure wise hope that's ok anyways here's what I wrote:
Um ok, so it would take sooo long to write a full structured analysis so I'll give little things for each character. Uhh mgs1 make Meryl less of just a flat love interest stand-in because the rest of her backstory in that game feels like it’s shoehorned in to make it seem like she has actual character when she's just meant as the glorified damsel in distress (not to say she can't need help but a lot of it felt like a bunch of "leave me Snake, I can't help you I'm just a GIRL!!"). Also, this is just my personal HC but it would add so much to her if she was transgender but it's not like NEEDED- anyway also Naomi was meant to be brown idk what happened but I would return her melanin to her I think. Mei Ling is mostly fine character-wise but I would remove all of Snake's weird advances and comments about her. I would actually remove that from all of his interactions with women in that game I think. OH and Sniper Wolf should put the thangs away I'm thinking like a fur coat and also I want her whole character to be more than just a sexy lady with a tragic past. her speaking in a seductive voice 80% of the time and just being honestly creepy was stupid. I think she could just be a person maybe. that would be cool I think. She could've been just tough and standoffish and then revealed her true feelings as she was dying instead of all the weird seductive stuff
Ok now Mgs2, Fortune is pretty much fine but I wish she didn’t have her booty cheeks out on the seemingly cold big shell bc Raiden was shivering and sneezing like a little wet dog when he lost his suit so I'd assume she’s cold too. if she was wearing some cool pants or something that would be neat but other than that I think she's pretty well written. next Emma ummm her personality itself isn't the issue to me but I didn’t like how Raiden was kind of creepy towards her (not really but like. “You should wear contacts” I'll punch him maybe). Also, she should've had a cooler outfit but that's it. Honestly, I’d have to rewatch or replay Mgs2 to get a good grasp of her character but I see no crazy issues. Rosemary omg I think she’s fine but I hated how it kind of felt like it was Raiden and Campbell vs Rose and she always loses even in non-canon codecs it was so annoying. Other than that once again I will have to listen to the codecs again because I haven't heard all of them in a while. Actually, I just remembered I didn't like how she was kind of written to be oddly insecure?? Ig?? I mean she spent a lot of time in codecs talking about personal stuff and not the mission which I guess was intentional but I found it odd. Olga’s fine no notes. Don’t think there's anyone else. (skipping mgs3 bc it only has 3 women and I think they’re all written ok I don't have many issues.) Ok, mgs4 for the B&B unit I will refer you to this post because I’ve already talked about it. other than that Meryl was actually really good until the final part on outer haven that was so bad “I can't protect anyone” or whatever she said girl fuck off the only reason she said that was so that big strong man Johnny Sasaki could come to save her omg fuck you also Johnny Sasaki should die that's crucial to this anyway, Mei Ling was fine but I’d remove the codec call where Otacon and Snake say that Mei Ling probably just slept with older men to get to her job position I just think I wouldn't have that in the game probably. Naomi ok so I haven't finished mgs1 so I can't tell you exactly if what she does in Mgs4 is fucked up compared to how she is in mgs1 I mean personality wise but also I was eating a really gross ass sandwich when I watched one of her long cutscenes and it skewed my perception of her a bit oh also I would personally like to button her shirt up for her. uh idk Rose once again was fine but also I’m killing everyone for the mistranslation from the JP version of mgs4 that in English made her seem like some evil liar idk anyway you look that up if you really wanna know it’s on Twitter. uh who else does Sunny count doesn't matter she's fine no issues.
GZ you already know what I'm going to say also TPP so I'm skipping it also I'm not wasting my time getting triggered for no reason so like read my mind or something
Because I skipped 3 games I’ll do MGR Courtney her character itself was fine I didn't like the codecs where 1 Raiden jokes that she should get lipo and 2 the call that's just Raiden and Kevin talking about how much they don't wanna date her also her design is so like beauty standards boring as shit at least make her look cool or something idk. and Mistral I’m so tired of femme fatale characters in Metal Gear it’s not cute it’s not like empowering the way it’s done her entire character is sexualized and it is JUST because she's a woman. I said this about Wolf too it’s hard to feel bad for a character’s sad war backstory when it is also very clear they’re just meant to be a sexual object with no substance it’s not cute either it's just stupid. Also, there’s other stupid sexist codecs about her too obviously lastly uh Sunny’s also in it she's fine whatever
also i just noticed i skipped peace walker but like whatever its fine lol

Do you have any advice on keeping characters in character whether they’re an OC or not.
Like if you want to use a character for a scene or something but they’re not right for it idk
The thing writers need to always remember is that characters are DEEP, yo.
They don't just have one character trait that you need to adhere to in every single situation. They're multifaceted and unique and interesting. They're able to have countless traits that could make them right for just about ANY scene, so long as you reinforce those characteristics throughout the story leading up to said scene.
For example... say you want to include a scene where a character gets into a vicious fist fight and totally wipes the floor with a bunch of thugs, but that character is a sweet, quiet, sensitive guy who usually cowers away from violence.
You can do that! You might just have to do some work hinting that he is capable of such a thing. Or make it a "and he just snapped" kinda situation that has him and everyone else shocked and alarmed.
I know it's hard but sometimes you really gotta do the legwork to plot and plan these eventual scenes that may come off as out of character.
If it were me, trying to write a normally sweet and quiet and sensitive character suddenly snapping and turning into this violent, aggressive badass, I would begin proving that it's possible from the beginning. Maybe I'd hint at a past experience where they have snapped and done something similar. Or maybe I'd hint that their personality as we know it now has not always been their personality throughout their life. Maybe they used to be a feral person who started fights for nothing but then something happened and they attempted to reform themself.
OR maybe violence IS just a part of their current every day characteristics. It could be a thing that they don't necessarily gain joy or satisfaction from, and they WANT to remain soft and gentle but their strong moral code pushes them to do whatever it takes to protect the ones they love or get justice for a wrongdoing.
There's ALWAYS a way to make ANYTHING in character. You just gotta do the work of building it up so that when the thing happens, the readers aren't left questioning what the fuck???
Just remember that characters aren't these flat stereotypes that fit perfectly into boxes like "sweet baby angel who can do no wrong" and "mean bastard who can do no right". Humans aren't that simple. We're complex and we change and grow CONSTANTLY, so it's not strange or "out of character" for your characters to do the same.
Something I like to do, especially with OCs, is that I try to imagine how they would react to specific situations, even if those situations won't ever happen in their story. Having that kind of deep understanding of your characters makes you unconsciously write them in a way that they feel real and capable of anything you want them to be capable of.
Liiiike.... ask yourself, "How would this character respond to a zombie apocalypse?" even if your story is a coming of age romcom that will see no zombies nor dystopia. Ask how they would react if a waiter brought them the wrong meal at a restaurant. How would they react to their significant other cheating on them? What is their favorite type of music? What's their relationship with their mother? Father? Do they get along well with children? What subjects at school are they terrible at? Which ones are they good at? What sorta health (mental or physical) issues have they had over the years?
Come up with thoughtful, detailed answers to these questions. Write them down. Remember them. Then, when a situation arises and you're not positive what they would do... check those answers. Fill in the blanks.
Maybe you wrote that your character has a bad relationship with their mother and would also not complain if they were given the wrong meal and they would likely die early in a zombie apocalypse, which leads you to realize that they might be clingy, dependent, and anxious in their relationships.
Or if you said that your character's first six pets were animals with a short lifespan, like rats or fish, maybe that means that they have a different view of death and would react to a friend/family member dying much less dramatically than someone who hasn't been exposed to death as frequently or as early in life.
Get to know your character on a deep, intimate level so that you can find a way to put them in any scenario in a way that feels correct.
OR HEY, this is your story. Write your characters however you want. And if people complain, ignore their ass. That's the beautiful thing about writing. You're in charge. There are no rules. You create what you want to create. And if it doesn't make sense then... who said it needs to make sense anyway? If you want it to make sense, then you will find a way to do it.
It might just take a lot of careful planning and deep dives into the very framework of each and every character.
Don't be afraid to GO BACK and change things that you've already written. NOT EVERYTHING YOU'VE WRITTEN IS SET IN STONE! Editing is a major help when you're someone like me who doesn't necessarily plot out my stories. I'm constantly coming up with new ideas that require some careful editing in the earlier chapters to pull off. That's okay. Even if you are posting your story chapter by chapter as you write it, there's no rule that says you can't go back in those previously posted chapters and tweak it. It's okay, I promise
In the end, just have fun creating your characters. Treat them like a person you want to know EVERYTHING about, even the things that seem unimportant. Each one is your new best friend and you're eager to memorize them from the inside out.
You can do it, I believe in you 🖤🌈

I have to agree with your criticisms about season two's plot, but I was wondering how you felt about the characters themselves in season two? Like, did you find Alois annoying, or sympathetic? Did you think Claude was creepy, or cool? Did you like the triplets better after The Spiders Intention, or were they still flat for you? Who is your favorite trancy servant? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
【Response to: “are there any S1 or S2 OVAs you enjoyed?”】
Dear Anon,
I am very sorry for the late reply! I made you wait this long and it’s not even going to be a very good reply m(_ _"m) This is just going to be a rant actually....
The short answer is: I am sorry, but no. I found none of them interesting. I don’t even have a describable opinion for any of them, because they gave me nothing to form an opinion on. The only thing I feel is confusion.
Tumblr media
I think the characters had potential at the beginning. But then even the creators themselves decided Alois isn’t interesting enough by turning Ciel into the main object of conflict in the entire series. In my opinion, all new characters lack a core, and are only the most superficial descriptions of themselves added with a surprise sauce. The picture below is to me what represents all new characters.
"Give me banana bread with a topping!"
Tumblr media
Alois
By making Claude’s objective becoming Ciel soul, Alois was delegated to the sidelines as the jealous boyfriend, so to say. It would have been interesting if Alois did more than just whine why Claude would rather have Ciel instead. But his main tactic was just...... I don’t even understand what he was trying to do (=v=) Alois was inconsistent and vague, and I think the creators noticed, so they just settled with calling him DERANGED, and called it a day. Listen creators, deranged characters have a set of logic and consistency too; they’re governed by their own laws. SHOW IT.
Claude
Same problem as with Alois at his core. He was the stoic but eccentric demon, which was cool and all, in theory. But Claude didn’t have his own principles or internal logic which should be the axis of any character. Making him do random shit like tapdancing and literally throwing cream at Sebas does not make him “interesting”. His entire character was just: “wack around, and antagonise Sebastian because he has better food”.
Hannah
Ms. Fanservice has a lot of potential, but none of the potential was used until CUZ PLOT. Why was she sortaaa the main villain-ish????? who has so much power, and YET she allowed all that shit to happen to her at the beginning, which in the end served no single purpose except showing how deranged Alois is?
The Triplets
They are very forgettable. They could be left out of the entire series and nothing would change.
Tumblr media
The problem with Season II is that the entire premise was milked from the concluded ending of the first, and left to curdle. The main objective of the first series was Ciel’s revenge, but the revenge had already been solved (according to Season I, at least).
The creators decided to keep the solved case the driving force of Ciel, and it would have been amazing if they stayed focused on Sebas having to win his payment back after someone sabotaged it, while gaslighting Ciel in believing his goal was not reached.
HOWEVER!!! The makers never bothered writing how Sebas can do so in a way that wasn’t just a mobile game’s turn-based slapping. They were too incompetent to write new rules, so they had to milk everything that was prefabbed till its last drop. There was very little milk, so they just watered down everything, and added a bunch of artificial food flavours in hope to disguise the hollowness of the core.
There was just so much going on too, the point basically became pointless in the sea of points.
Tumblr media
And even if we don’t stop to ask how exactly the flipping hell Alois got his hands on so many demons (except PLOT), then it still beats me why anyone needed that many demons if none of them did anything for real. Season II really reminded me of bad Pokemon episodes where each monster was just there to do a few moves in a turn-based combat system, but always swapped out for reasons unknown. BUT WHY IS KUROSHITSUJI TURN-BASED?!
Tumblr media
SIGHHHHHHHHHHHH
Thanks for reading my rant.

750 Followers Celebration - Q&A
Tumblr media
Thank you so much for supporting me through this journey! You guys don't know how much this means to me. Every single one of you is amazing.
Below the cut are my answers to the questions that you all submitted.
Q: Do you think Jay is going to become Sergeant this season? A: There has been a lot of debate over this question because of the past few seasons and all of the "Easter eggs", like the sergeant exam poster hanging in the background of the show. In my opinion, I do not believe Jay will become Sergeant. Yet. I think it won't be until the beginning of next season because, if this is a possible storyline, I would expect that the producers and writers would make the finale of season 9 about Voight stepping down/getting promoted, etc.
Q: Did Chicago Justice deserve more episodes? A: I'm sort of split with this question. I loved the fact that there was a big episode involving Kevin, and they always included people from Med, Fire, and PD in some of the episodes. However, the whole plot of the episodes was kind of slow because it wasn't like they were police officers and could go out and chase suspects and arrest people and what not. Their job was just to gather the evidence and then present it in court. I think for many, the show fell flat because there wasn't much action, and part of me does agree with that, but the whole idea of the show itself was kind of cool.
Q: What would make you stop watching each Chicago show? A: This is a tough question because I've only ever dropped one show that I can think of, and it was only because the plotline got really dumb. Maybe if some major characters died in each show I'd stop watching it? But then again, I love the One Chicago universe so much that I don't think even that would stop me from watching. So yeah. I really don't know.
Q: Do you believe in magic? A: As much as I would love for magic to be real, I don't believe it is. But I feel like everyone thinks that way. Cause lets be honest, Harry Potter and Disney make magic look so cool. However, we all know deep down somewhere that it's almost impossible for certain things to be real, and magic just so happens to be one of them.
Q: Are you superstitious? A: I'm not the most superstitious person out there, but I do somewhat follow a few superstitions. Whenever I find a penny on the ground with heads facing up, I pick it up because I believe I'll get good luck. Doing the whole "fingers crossed" thing is something I do a lot. I believe you shouldn't open an umbrella in the house or else you'll receive bad luck. Broken mirrors are bad omens. Those are the top 4 I believe in, but other than that, I'm not really too superstitious.
Q: Is your perception of yourself similar or the same to how others perceive you? A: I mean, I would hope so. I appreciate my level of smarts, and whenever my friends acknowledge them or compliment me on them it makes my day. However, with that, people think that I'm always only doing things to boost my intelligence. For example, I love to read. So whenever I say that I didn't do much over the weekend, people always assume that I read a bunch, when I really didn't. Or that I always study for tests or do homework like a week before it's do. That is not the case. But for the most part, I believe my perception of myself is the same as how other people perceive me.
Q: Who is your favorite couple on each One Chicago show? A: Okay, so for Med, there aren't really any couples at the moment besides Maggie and Ben, whom I love but they aren't my favorite, so I'm gonna pick a past couple. When I first started Med, Manstead was my prime ship, so I'll choose them. Will had been pining after Natalie for so long so I was glad when they finally got together. For Fire, it's gotta be Kelly and Stella. They were literally made for each other, and they support each other with everything. Also, they are so cute together and all of Firehouse 51 ships them as well! And for PD, while I do love Burzek, Upstead is my favorite ship at the moment. I've seen the connection between Hailey and Jay since season 5. You don't understand how angry I was in season 7 when Hailey was so close to confessing her feelings. So season 8 made me very happy when Jay and Hailey finally got together.
Q: Jay and Lindsey or Jay and Hailey? A: I respect everyone's opinions on this matter, so hopefully you all respect mine. I thought that Erin was almost toxic in a way for Jay. She continuously broke his heart when all he wanted to do was help him. But what really does it for me is that she left Chicago without telling him goodbye. Hailey, on the other hand, has pushed Jay to seek out help when he needed it, like when she recommended he take seeing a therapist seriously to help with his PTSD, and she is always there for him, no matter what. That's why I believe Hailey and Jay are the better pairing.
Q: Which character death got to you the most? A: There have been too many sad deaths in the One Chicago world. But if I had to pick one, I've gotta go with Otis on Chicago Fire. Otis was always one of my favorite characters, even way back when I watched Fire with my dad when it was first coming out. He was witty and funny, and his friendship with Cruz was everything. So, when I watched the episode where he died, I was full on balling. I had to pause the episode for 10 minutes because I couldn't stop.
Q: Who is your favorite character on each show and why? A: I'm gonna do favorite male and female character because I've got too many favorites from each show. On Med, my favorites are Will and Natalie. Will has been my favorite since day one, and I like that he will go out of his way to help patients, even if it means he could get in serious trouble. Natalie, even though she's not in the show, always pushes for the best of care for her patients, and whenever she dealt with kids it was always the sweetest thing. On Fire, I like Kelly and Sylvie. Kelly is so headstrong and driven, and he will do anything to protect the other members of Squad 3. Sylvie is such a hard worker and you can tell she is passionate about her job. I feel so bad that she's had to go through so many partners. On PD I love Jay and Hailey. Jay has not always been my favorite male character. Back when I watched the show for the first time, I adored Adam. However, I love that Jay has such good morals and is always pushing to do the right thing even when Voight disagreed. Now, it took a few episodes for me to warm up to Hailey, but after seeing her be so badass, it was hard not to like her.
Q: Where do you get inspiration for your stories?/How do you get inspiration when there's not a request? A: This question is always hard to answer because I really don't know. Most of the time I'm fulfilling requests sent in by you guys and I just write what comes to the top of my mind. If there are requests that are not requested and I come up with them on my own, chances are I saw the plot somewhere else, like in a book or show or movie, and I just tweaked it a bit to fit the One Chicago universe. Either that happens, or while I'm trying to fall asleep, I make up random scenarios in my head, and if I find one that I really like, I'll make a note of it on my phone so I don't forget it, and then I'll write about it.
Q: Do you think Brett and Casey are endgame? Why or why not? A: I'm gonna go with yes on this one. Now, Brettsey is not one of my top ships in the universe. However, they are cute together, and I've been expecting them to get together for a while. The two of them, even when Gabby was around, had a great relationship and always cared for each other. Plus, Matt jumped out of a firetruck to go help Sylvie when the ambulance flipped. He was willing to risk an injury just to make sure she was okay. And now that they are officially together in Chicago Fire, you can see that they really love and care for each other.
Q: What inspired you to start writing? A: I always seem to get this question whenever I do a q&a, but that's okay because I don't mind talking about it. I first got into stuff like this as a reader. Basically, I went on to Wattpad and Tumblr to read other people's stories. I had no intention of creating my own. And then, one day, I started imagining myself in some of the fandoms I was apart of, and I thought, "If I'm imagining myself in these fandoms, chances are others are too," and I began creating stories that followed the plots of movies and shows exactly, just adding Y/n in it. However, that got tiring after a while because I wasn't able to have much freedom because I was following a set script, and that's when I remembered I had a Tumblr account I never used. So, I revamped my account just a little bit and started posting story ideas I had that I couldn't post on Wattpad because either they didn't fit with the stories or they were for someone I didn't write for on Wattpad. And now, here we are. For anyone interested, I've posted this before but I'll post it again, my Wattpad handle is @Writer_Reader05.
Q: Jay or Will Halstead? A: I'm sorry, but I really can't choose between the two of them. I love them both so much. Will and Jay are two of my favorite characters in the whole One Chicago universe. While they do have some qualities that I'm not the fondest of, at the end of the day, I adore the both of them, and I could never choose between them.
Q: Who would you rather date: Jay or Will Halstead? A: Why do you guys do this to me? I love them both so much! But, if I have to choose, I'm gonna pick Jay. The only reason is because I like the characters in PD more than Med, so if I'm dating Jay, chances are I'm friends with Hailey and Adam and all of Intelligence. Will is just as awesome as Jay though and I feel like sometimes people sleep on that.
Q: Which of the requested fics you’ve written is your favorite? A: I think I'm gonna have to go with a Jay Halstead x reader I wrote titled Two Becomes Three. Something about the plot just makes me smile. And to think of Jay being a father......So yeah, while I have so many amazing requested fics thanks to you all, that one has to be one of my favorites.
Q: What’s your favorite series you’ve written so far? A: I love all of the series I have written. Something about creating a whole story that's more than just one part is always fun. If I have to pick one series, I'm gonna pick On the Loose. It was the first series I wrote on Tumblr and the plot of it is something I'm really proud of. However, From the Big Apple to the Windy City, Identity Loss, and Difference of Opinion are all amazing! The first two are finished series and the last one still has a few chapters left to go. Go check them out if you haven't already.
Q: What's your favorite imagine you've come up with and why? A: I don't have a lot of fics that are solely my ideas. Most of my stories have plots that were sent in by you all. However, if I had to pick a favorite out of my stories, it'd be Back Home for Christmas, a Halstead Sister fic I released when I was somewhat new to the platform. Something about writing sibling fics always makes me happy because I get to express the familial side to the characters.
Q: If you had to be roommates with 5 of your mutuals/fellow writers, who would you pick and why? A: I love all of my fellow writers/mutuals so much! I know how much work we put into whatever we post, and most of us are very active on this site. As for who I would pick to be my roommates, I'd choose @hereforhalstead @fighterkimburgess @halsteadlover @resanoona @sylviebrettsey because I feel like we'd all have great conversations, mainly over One Chicago. And every Wednesday night we'd all watch the episodes live together and experience them as a group and then freak out over what happened..........Now watch me fantasize about this all day.
Q: Do you listen to music when you write? A: It depends. On some days when I plan that I'm gonna write, then yes, I do put on some music. When there are days that I have a few minutes to spare, I don't put on music just because I'm only writing for a few minutes and I don't want to waste time. But mostly when I'm writing I do play music in the background.
Q: Do you know how your fics/stories end before you finish writing it? A: This is a really interesting question. The answer is no, I do not know how I'm gonna end a fic before I finish writing it. The only story I had a set ending for was my series On the Loose, but that one wasn't even fully planned out until I got a chapter or two in. Obviously, if I get a request that includes a set ending, like two characters get together or something like that, then I know what the ending will be. Otherwise, I have no clue.
Q: Have you ever met someone who had a very similar personality to your own? Did you get along? A: You know, I can't say that I have. Everyone is different in their own way, and that's what makes us all unique. I would imagine if I did meet someone with a similar personality we'd get along because we'd basically be a carbon copy of each other, but who knows. Maybe our similar personalities would cause us to clash.
Q: Do you hold yourself to higher standards than you hold others? A: Not really. I know myself more than anyone else so I know what my limits are and when I've reached them. With people, on the other hand, I always feel like they can be doing more with themselves and their lives. So I do not hold myself to higher standards than others.
Thank you to all of you who sent in questions! I never thought I'd reach 750 followers on this platform. The only reason I have is all thanks to you wonderful people out there!

2, 4, 7, 13, 37 for the writer's asks? 💙
<3 <3 <3
Thank you for asking! This uhhh got Long and also rambly, so under a cut.
2: Anything that you’d like to write but feel like you’re unable to?
So many things. For so many reasons.
Often it's just, I could write the thing but I'd have to do A Lot of research and don't have the energy for it. This happens a lot with fanfic ideas, because I barely even know American culture much less any that I haven't lived in.
(This WAS keeping me from writing Naruto fanfic but @denialcity is helping me with Japanese culture so. Blessed Sacrifice AU is being written now anyway! But this happens to me a Lot, even though anime fandoms are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.)
Or sometimes the fandom is one which Really Cares about canon and getting canon details accurate, while my default approach to canon is that canon is a buffet and I am an extremely picky eater, and I give zero shits about what else is on the buffet or what I'm supposed to do with it. (Or just flat out Canon Can Fight Me.)
So technically I could write the thing but it's easier to just daydream about the ideas to myself than get a bunch of "your idea doesn't work because in this interview fifteen years ago the creators said __ which implies they intended for us to read it as meaning..." comments.
There's also this one idea that started as a short story for a class, and then I wanted to expand it to a novel because I liked the premise. But I had a Lot of trouble figuring out what it was about, and when I did the answer was that it was about having power/privilege and the protagonist learning to not hurt people with it. Specifically with a 'wanting to hurt people does not make you the good guy, ever, no matter what, and if you want to be the good guy anyway you need to keep that impulse under control even when it's really hard' message.
And because of the setup, that would require the protagonist to accidentally cause at least a few gruesome deaths for (insert any minority here) background characters, which would then never really have consequences beyond the character feeling kind of bad about it. And that is just not a thing I'm comfortable writing, so I dropped it even though I liked the original concept.
4: Do you have any OCs? Do you have a story for them?
Many! Both OCs and stories for each. Part of how I develop OCs is throwing them into Lots and Lots of AUs, so by the time an OC is fully developed I can probably ramble though what would happen shoving them in just about any setting/plot/role possible.
(A few of) the most prominent:
Kai: Usually comes from a lower class or somehow otherwise disadvantaged background relative to whatever society she finds herself in. @shipfishwrites called her a canary in the coal mine for social injustice and that's not wrong. She seems like she is almost entirely chill but actually she's just quiet and minding her own business, she has negative chill, she WILL decide that ethics/promises/something require her to jump off a cliff and immediately try to do so without telling anyone. The cliff is not always literal but the metaphorical ones are usually worse. Takes Duty and Honor and Her Word and A Person's Place In Society and similar things very very seriously, usually to her own detriment. Needs to learn that 'that's how it is'/'that's how life works' is not the end of the conversation.
Rekima: Almost always comes from an extremely privileged background. Extremely brilliant and clever, could run a conspiracy and take over the world if he wanted to, but all he actually wants to do is party and gossip. Very into fashion. If in a modern setting he's a theater kid. He doesn't view himself as feminine but knows that a lot of other people view him as feminine because of his fashion and similar interests and underestimate him because of it, which he will use, probably to prank them. Very nice and generous and wants everyone to be happy, but almost completely amoral beneath that.
Moritu: Variable background, but consistently comes from a family that thinks men should be tough and macho, which he is absolutely incapable of being. He's a pacifist and An Artist TM and deeply insecure about not living up to any standard of masculinity ever. If in a modern setting he's emo. (If not he's probably at least 50% emo anyway.) Adores kids and caring for people generally, his ideal best life is basically as a suburban soccer/PTA mom but he has to escape the toxic masculinity before he can realize it.
There's also Taka, Meguru, and Kunimi that I've recently co-developed with @denialcity, who I ADORE (terrible, horrible, no good trash fires that they all are) but do not at all fit my usual OC-making pattern. They have, like, three AUs maybe, usually my characters don't get fully developed until they've been through at least a dozen.
7: Your favourite ao3 tag.
I have NO IDEA, honestly. I mostly search AO3 by wandering the bookmarks of authors whose fic I've enjoyed. I tend to go through character phases, so, that might count?
Probably the most important factor in how much I like a fic is 'how well done is the characterization?' but like, you can't really filter for that with tags very well.
Occasionally I'll look through the soulmates tag because I really like when people do creative things with soulmate tropes, so that might qualify as my favorite by default, but I still skip most soulmate fics.
13: Rate your worldbuilding skills from 1 to 10.
Uhhhhh chaotic? I need a working scale. What are the standards for each number. Am I comparing to other writers or to specfic writers specifically or to Everyone because those all skew very different ways.
I'm pretty good (I think) at coming up with creative/interesting ideas and linking them to each other, but it's very much a chaotic rambling process, and I tend not to get into much practical detail unless I absolutely have to.
So like... 6-7, maybe? 6 with the awareness that if I ever sit down and focus on worldbuilding properly I could kick it up at least a few points? That feels about right.
37: Do you research before writing or while you write? Is it fun or boring for you?
During, or after. My writing includes so many [uhh pick a brand for this] and [whatever year this was] style brackets. I only tend to look things up as I write if the answer affects what I'm writing directly (was the character 2 or 12 when Significant Relevant Historical Event happened? really need to know that before I finish the conversation where they discuss it).
I find research really frustrating, mostly. A lot of the time I'm stuck at that point where I know I need to do research, but I don't know where to look for reliable sources, and often don't know exactly what I should be looking for. I know not to trust google! I know that what Feels Right to me is not a reliable measure of accuracy! I don't know what IS good.
Wikipedia is a decent starting point, if the topic isn't at all political, but often doesn't have the type of information I need, and usually doesn't link to it because why would they cite information they don't include? So that actually goes back to 2 and why 'I would need to research This Whole Culture/career/etc' stops me from writing a lot of things.
If I ever become rich I'm going to start a website and pay experts in every subject I can get a hold of to write articles about daily life in __, how various historical things worked, and debunking common misconceptions about everything. I wish so much that I could just go to a writer info site and look up a collection of articles about food in 1508 England, tagged by class, region, and daily life vs special occasions.
With original stories a lot of the time I try to dodge this by just going full alternate world with no basis in the real one. I can't get the political system wrong if I made it all up myself!
In the past that would just end with me trying to make models of planets and research what determines the shape of tectonic plates so that I can figure out realistic tectonic plate shapes and movement patterns so I can figure out the planet's geography so I can figure out the climates so I can figure out the history and nations so I can figure out the cultures so I can figure out the characters' backstories so I can figure out their motivations so I can figure out the plot. But I have learned better than to attempt that now.

4 stars
At first, the title of this book didn't really appeal to me and I wasn't very curious about it. However, someone said it was an adult fantasy with dragons, a secret society of women mages, and its Sapphic, and I immediately was in. The Nameless One is starting to wake and the world must come together and also figure out how to end him. Classic good vs evil story.
Priory is a very long book, about 805 pages with the text covering most of the page. I love a good long book and I've definitely read longer, but I think this book deserved to be split up. There is so much happening in this book, there's so many countries and people and their religions. I think it suffers a little from that because I would have loved to spend more time with certain characters during big moments. Huge plot moments and pivotal scenes are often over very quickly because everything needs to move along and connect. I think if this book was split into two or even three books with more character depth and not so much everything, it would have been a solid 5 stars.
I absolutely LOVED Priory, don't get me wrong. The pace is fast and the writing is an easy flow that is perfect. Just the right amount without making the slow moments feel like a slog or even the book to feel way too long. I really liked seeing strong women warriors, leaders, mages, dragon riders, etc. It's a fascinating world and I enjoyed mostly all the characters and plots, and I liked how things came together fairly nicely.
The book follows four main characters but the most important two are Ead and Tané. The other two are Niclays and Loth.
Ead was a really great character because she was smart and capable, and I really like how sure she was of her capabilities. I actually thought there would be more lesbians in the book, but there wasn't. I really enjoyed her relationship with Sabran, however it felt like it went physical and deep extremely fast. I knew Ead was feeling things but Sabran extremely recently lost her husband and her baby (and the ability to have children) like in a small amount of time and suddenly they are having sex?? It just felt extremely sudden especially on Sabran's part where she is supposedly quite devout and you know, the religion doesn't allow same sex relations. We don't see into Sabran's head which is shame. I still enjoyed their relationship though and Ead's story.
Tané was probably my favorite of the four. Orphan girl becomes a dragon rider, that's right up my alley! Tané goes through quite a lot throughout the book, dealing with insecurities, unworthiness, shame for the lies and also consequences of her past actions, and more. She gains a desired top position, her dream, to losing it and falling very far. I did wish more for Tané when it came to the end fight. Tané's ending was the most confusing part of the story. You read it and you're just like WHAT???? I think I have an idea but to have most of everything be fairly clear cut in this story, and then just write something that doesn't get answered considering this is a standalone, is rude.
Niclays was probably my second favorite of the four narrators. He's an old, gay, grumpy old man. A lot of good and bad things have happened in his life. I really enjoyed his grief and anger, and his resilience even though he likely wouldn't agree he has that. He's a bit of a coward too. Although he served a purpose, it did feel like it took too long in the book to get there.
Loth, the last narrator, was my least favorite of the bunch. I appreciated that Loth could be friends with women and it wasn't a he was secretly in love with them or sexual in any way. He just genuinely loved them as people and like they were his sisters. I found Loth to really just be the most passive character in the series, more letting things happen to him and going along with it. He mainly just brought things to people and had a negotiation scene that just fell extremely flat. He hardly had much of a personality either.
There is in general so much going on. Did I really have to have explained that an ancient witch fell in love with the man she raised as a baby, bewitched and glamored him so he'd think she was someone else, and marry and have a baby with him??? Why??? I understand you want to flesh out the world and make her even more monstrous and powerful, etc. But there is just more important things to focus on but yet you skip training Tané with magic or Ead with the jewels? Magic is explained to an extent but I don't quite understand Ead's kind of magic. It's fire but she's capable of doing things other than fire??
Because the book has so much happening and moving quickly, things tend to work out really quickly and/or easily. I am absolutely more of a stickler to realism. Things don't work out perfectly. People fail. I like seeing that and I think that's why I liked Tané and Niclays more.
I know it feels like I'm bitching and being pedantic, but I ultimately really enjoyed the book! I liked that there were dragons of water instead of fire. It was altogether enjoyable and I'd definitely recommend it highly to fans of adult fantasy! And this actually makes me want to read her other books.

Breathing Room
Damian Wayne
Of course the little dog here is basically my sweet baby girl Rogue with a different name (Baby/Babe because I'm sure all of you at home have dogs you'd like to substitute names for), who sends all her love and puppy kisses to all of you! Ugh this was fun to write. So goddamn fluffy I could call Build-a-Bear a competitor.
Reader is a Titan.

Prompt List // Masterlist (in bio)
"If I die, I'm leaving my dog to you."
Damian turns halfway to give you a suspicious glance over his shoulder. Then, he turns back to the fire place, where he's successfully stoking the flames currently living there.
The animal in question is the next victim of his scrutiny, laying perfectly peacefully on the corner of your blanket that's been left unused on the couch next to you. He points, you nod, he rolls his eyes.
"Awe! What? You wouldn't take my poor baby girl in?" You're borderline incredulous. "Did you hear that Baby? He doesn't love you!"
He scoffs, then pushes himself to his feet and joins you on the couch once more. The little dog lifts her head to look at Damian, almost accusingly.
You pet her gently. "Don't mind him, Baby, he's just jealous because I love you more," you soothe, babytalking the eight pound pooch like the spoiled princess she is.
"Firstly, you aren't going to die, it's only a snow storm," he argues, "and secondly, even if something were to happen, of course I'd take in your large rat."
You gasp and lightly slap his chest. "Damian Wayne!" you shrill. He chuckles loudly. "You take that back right now! Apologize!"
He rolls his eyes, knowing that if he doesn't, you'd probably give his spot on the bed to Titus, who's listening to the entire exchange from the giant pillow on the floor. He reaches across you, lays a hand on her little head, and says clearly, "Baby, I am sorry for calling you a rat. You are clearly small not-dog."
You sigh in exasperation and defeat. He laughs, though it's obvious he's trying not to and failing miserably. "What am I going to do with you, you scoundrel?"
His arm lays across your shoulders as you shiver for the second time in the last five minutes. "Well, you can first let me chose what movie we watch since I started the fire for you."
You can't help snuggling closer to him. "Firstly," you mock, "I could have started the fire myself. Secondly, I'll let you pick the movie if you let me pick the genre."
"Deal," he relents.
Two comedies and a horror film later, you hear the front door downstairs unlock, with a roaring chorus of arguing voices behind it.
When Kori and Dick invited you and Damian to a Titans Winter Vacation, you had been a little skeptical. You hadn't been a Titan for very long, and you weren't as familiar as you'd like to be with any of them.
However, you'd known Damian for years, and he insisted it wouldn't be as bad as you thought. He wasn't entirely keen on the idea either, but you'd eventually agreed that it'd be nice.
They'd rented a cabin up in the mountains. It was three stories, with six bedrooms, five bathrooms, two living rooms, a home theater, and a game room. You especially loved the balconies on every level. That provided a truly glorious view of the Smoky Mountains.
Though, when you heard it was six bedrooms, you knew that meant sharing a room. You only really slept alright by yourself or with Damian, so it concerned you that you'd most likely be sharing a bunk bed with Raven, as you and Damian were seventeen. But, because Dick knew you wouldn't be doing anything more than cuddling, he was more than happy to let you and Damian share a queen-size in the loft, directly above Garfield and Jaime's.
To sweeten the deal even further, everyone was in perfect agreement that you should definitely bring your dog. She was very sweet and quiet, and perfectly mannered. You didn't worry about taking her anywhere. It made you feel even better that Damian was taking Titus.
So here you are now, tucked into Damian's side on a plush plaid couch in the loft, Baby curled up next to you and Titus sprawled at your feet, listening to Gar and Raven and Cyborg come shivering in through the front door.
"Holy hell, it's cold as balls!" Gar shouted, kicking off his boots at the door. You were about to call down to ask how town was, but he was already sprinting up the spiral staircase.
Damian sighed, though only loudly enough for you to hear. He thought of the loft in it's entirety as yours, even though the bedroom was an entirely separate room, kept private by a thick door.
Garfield paused by the couch to lean over and pet Babe, which she gladly accepted, before zipping over to the firepalce to warm up.
"How was town?" you ask. Damian grabs the remote and backs out of the movie, which was already rolling credits.
"Eh, it was okay. Grocery store was neat, though. Had a candy section that was lit."
You laugh softly. "Get all the groceries?"
He nods. "Yeah, but their produce section was so confusing."
"Are you sure you aren't just dull?" Damian quips. You roll your eyes and flick his ear as you sit up. "Hey!" he chirps.
"Ha!" Garfield shouts and points boldly, though he looks as though he's about to hurdle the railing behind you. "Damian got in trouble!"
Damian, the tough, mature man he is, flings a pillow toward the green boy with as much force as he can while slouched against the couch back.
"Watch the fire, you dufus," you scold, laughing, as you slide toward the steps with Baby at your heels.
"Ha ha! You got in trouble agaaiinn!" Garfield sings. Then he shrieks, and then there's a green bird diving over the wooden railing and Damian's shouting something that has you scooping up Baby and hustling down the stairs to stay out of his way.
• • •
Your bedroom is dark, and because you both like the curtains pulled away from the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the drop of the mountain your cabin is perched over, it is quite cold.
Too cold for your liking, even pressed against Damian's back and Babe curled into the small of yours.
It's been fifteen minutes of listening to Bob's Burgers play on the television over your shared dresser and the collective body heat still isn't enough. So, in a desperate attempt to chase the chill off, you half unwind your arms from his waist, and slide them under the hem of his tee shirt to press them flat against his side and his back.
While you're sighing in relief, he's jumping and sucking in a breath of absolute shock. He all but gasps, "What are you doing with your ice cold hands up my shirt?"
You almost laugh at the tone of absolute offence he's using. "I'm cold! We can't all keep the same core temperature as the sun, Wayne."
"Well Jesus, you could have at least warned me," he grumbles, rolling in your hold to face you.
You fall asleep pretty quickly now, wrapped up in his arms, legs tangled with yours beneath a heavy quilt.
• • •
You're always the first ones up. Well, not always, but for the past four days that you've been on the trip, you both have. It's usually Damian, and only Damian, but you aren't far behind once your main source of heat leaves you alone in bed with sunlight beaming into the room.
You, Baby, and Titus all follow him down the spiral staircase and through the main common room, dining room, and the intermediate stretch between the two staircases and two bedroom doors.
He turns on the coffee pot for the rest of the team while you start the kettle and set out tea bags and mugs for the two of you. While he's still fiddling with the settlings on the machine, you let the dogs out to the small fenced yard off to the side of the huge cabin.
The machine spurs to life just as you're lifting yourself up onto the countertop of the kitchen island. "Are you gonna make pancakes and eggs?" You keep your voice low, considerate of Raven in the room on the left and Jamie and Garfield in the room on the right, all still sleeping.
"I wasn't planning to," he answers, leaning against the counter by the gas stove, where the steel kettle is still heating up.
"But you promised. . ." You just out your bottom lip and tilt your head just a little, soft eyes oh so slowly grinding away at that steel cover he keeps locked around his heart.
After exactly forty two seconds, he caves in. "Did the Happy Bunch even get the ingredients yesterday?"
Your sweet begging facade switches on a dime, now housing a devious glint in your eyes. "Of course they did, I put it on the list."
He sighs, loudly. He lets the dogs in before he goes around the kitchen, gathering all things necessary for the pancake mix you love so much.
It's twenty minutes later when Kori and Dick are opening the basement door and emerging from the hall downstairs, Kori's hair just as unkept as every morning and Dick's shirt just as wrinkly as the night before.
"Sometimes I think you only love me for my pancakes," Damian chides playfully, having yet to associate the creaking hinges with the basement door.
"I won't deny it," you laugh, grinning down at the bowl you're stirring with more dedication than is probably necessary.
"Damian, I didn't know you cook," Kori states, with enough surprise that you're a little taken aback.
He turns to look at her over his shoulder, still dicing strawberries without looking and making your nerves twitch while he does it. "Only occasionally."
"Hey hey, watch what you're doing, boy," you sound a little too much like someone's grandmother, but you're really a little aghast that he hasn't steeled himself yet.
Damian reserves a certain part of himself around most people. It's a part of him you're allowed to bask in only after years of assurance and affection. You wouldn't be so surprised if it was only shown to Dick, but it was Kori he was speaking to, eyes still a little glittery and smile still lopsided and prominent.
In a moment of adoration and maybe a little pride in him, you hum, "Only for me, of course."
To yours and even Kori's awe, he chuckles. "Only when you force me, you mean."
You recover faster than she does, and cover yourself with a laugh. "I wouldn't call you promising me strawberry-blackberry pancakes forcing you, but if you wanna try and save a little face . . ."
Kori turns to Dick, with a look on her face that is silently asking if he's seen the same thing. His eyes flit between her, you, and his youngest brother, before they settle on you. He seems a little less jarred.
"Gezz, what'd you do, (Y/N)? Drug him in his sleep?"
With Garfield's arrival, Damian's smile fades off and he resumes quickly dicing strawberries on a wooden cutting board.
You mumble into your batter, "I'm starting to wonder."
• • •
At 11:15 in the morning on the sixth day, a war commences.
While you and Damian decide to hide out the still-raging snowstorm in your cozy little loft with your faithful hounds, half the team is out in the snow, hurling handfuls of snow that vaguely resemble spheres at one another from behind artificial snowbanks.
Though eventually, you decide the total war out in the front yard is far more entertaining than anything on his Hulu or Disney+. So, you pop a bowl of popcorn and brew your third batch of tea, and sit backward on the couch to watch out the massive windows that take up most of the front wall of the common room.
Over the porch roof, you can watch all the atrocities of battle play out from the safe warmth of your loft together.
Though, some time around three, Damian reminds you that you have plans to drive into town to explore, and asks if you'd rather stay and finish the battle.
An hour later, you and Damian stand at the front door, dressed to brave the weather, having bid your dogs goodbye as you left them in the warm safety of your bedroom.
Damian's hand is on the doorknob, but he seems hesitant. "Are you ready?"
You flip up your hood and pull your scarf up over your nose. "Yes."
He hauls the door open, and with your hand in his, you quickly cross the porch, jump the steps, and make it halfway around to the driveway, when you hear somebody shout, "Civilians! Open fire on civilians, they're both wicked!"
Damian spins on his heel to threaten the entire group, but you beat him to it when you see Jamie, snowclod wound up, aimed right at you.
Silence falls over the battlefield like the snow still drifting down at an alarming rate.
You point a sharp finger at him. "If you do this, I will never forgive you," you declare lowly. "I swear to every god in existence you'll wake up with your head sewn to the carpet."
He stops. Narrows his eyes. "You're bluffing."
"Am I?"
A moment's debate. You can image the Scarab waving you off with we can take her. But oh, that thing has never seen you with a grudge.
He swivels on his feet and hurls it at Raven, who's been hiding behind the snow that'd been shoveled off the sidewalk that morning.
You take Damian's hand again and make a break for his car.
After the drive to Downtown Gatlinburg and three or four hours spent roaming the streets, you're already talking about living there. In all honesty, he isn't so opposed to the idea of buying a home in the area. You seem so in your element here, and the town and the scenery surrounding you is so breathtaking.
But you know you'd never be able to drag him out of Gotham. Perhaps a vacation home, or maybe retirement.
You decide to stop in to a little cafe in a place called The Village, which is a collection of shops surrounding a lovely courtyard off the main stretch of Downtown.
It's crowed inside, so you decide to stand out by the fountain while you sip your steaming drinks and converse about the little shops you liked best so far. You are particularly fond of a candy shop, and he would very much like to check out a blade shop a block or so down the way.
Your teeth chatter as you talk about wanting a souvenir, something small to keep on a shelf, and finish the rest of your hot chocolate.
"Are you that cold?" his question is simple enough, but his voice is so soft and so drenched in concern it catches you off guard.
You laugh lightly. "I'm okay, just might need another hot chocolate before we set off again," you shrug, jamming your hand into your pocket has he takes the paper cup from you and nods.
"Well, I'm sure that can be arranged." He smiles.
There's something in his eyes, though. It's subtle, in the little wrinkles between his eyebrows, and the redness of his nose and his cheeks. As much as you like the way it looks on his honey crisp complection, it's starting to worry you. Not the blush he gets from the cold's kiss, but the slightly out of character openness he's been exhibiting. You like to think that maybe he's growing out of hiding his louder emotions, for his own sake, but you can't take the risk that it's something else.
He returns to you with an offering of mint hot chocolate. He smiles again when he greets you, and the pair of you set off back toward the sidewalk do a little shopping.
"Hey, Dame?"
"Hm?"
You wind your arm around his elbow with your free hand. "Everything okay with you?"
He turns his full attention on you. "Yes, of course. Why do you ask?"
You take a sip out of your hot chocolate. "I don't know, you've just been acting a little differently the last few days." His eyebrows crease in a worried way, and you get the sense he's disappointed. "In a good way, I mean," you correct yourself quickly, "I just want to be sure it isn't for a bad reason."
He shakes his head and takes a deep breath. You turn out onto the sidewalk, and start making your way farther up the street. "No, there isn't anything wrong," he assures. "I can't exactly explain it, which I'm not entirely okay with, but it's been. . . nice, this trip. The land is beautiful, the air is much cleaner than in Gotham, the people here are nice." He turns to face you again. "And you seem a lot more comfortable with the Titans. I'm glad; I'd feared you wouldn't bond with them at all, truthfully, and they're all far more bearable with you around."
You nod as he speaks, eyes jumping past him to the signs on the building fronts every once in a while. There's something he isn't saying, and you know it.
"And. . ." He sighs. "And you."
You pass him a quizzically quirked brow.
His voice lowers and he lays a hand over yours on his arm. "I love you so much, (Y/N). I can't even find the right words anymore."
Your eyes lock with his and you stop walking. Your lips part because your jaw goes a little slack, and your wide eyes reflect all the neon colors of the signs in the window on your right.
It isn't the first time he says he loves you. And you know it won't be the last, but he hardly ever says it so freely. It always behind closed doors in the softest moments, when you're both vulnerable or so drunk on love for one another neither of you can think straight.
You can't remember the last time he's been so open about in in front of anyone else, and it only ripens your concern.
You pull him closer, eyebrows slanting together. "Damian, I'm serious, are you okay?"
Now he's the one with one eyebrow reaching for answers. "Pardon?"
"I'm sorry," you blurt, "you know I love you from here clear to Alpha Centauri but you're really starting to worry me."
He laughs at that. Then, his eyes are as soft as his smile, and his hands smooth down the sides of your arms before they rest on your forearms. "(Y/N), I promise you there is nothing wrong with me now that hasn't been for the past seven years. Am I not allowed to let once in a little while, and allow myself a little breathing time?"
You hadn't realized you were so tense until you relax under his touch with the assurance. "Of course you are," you reply after a pause. You take one hand off your hot chocolate to rest it on his chest, coincidentally over his heart. "I just worry sometimes. I don't want anything to happen to you, Dame."
"I know," he says. He gingerly takes the paper cup from you and sets it on the bench you hadn't noticed before. He pulls you into his arms, enveloping you in a warmth like sunshine and a scent that's too particular to Damian Wayne to be mistaken. Your arms wind inside his open coat to the hoodie he's wearing underneath.
A long moment passes in relative silence. Your eyes are closed, ears perked to the drifting sounds of uncaring passersby and the rumbling of passing cars.
"I really want to slip my hands under your shirt right now," you mumble into his shoulder. "But if you tell me not to, I won't."
He grunts.
And for a moment, you ponder weather or not that was a denial. You silently make your choice and close your eyes again.
He leaps under your touch. "Damn it, (Y/N)!"

Hello! I've been following your blog for a little while now, and I'm always so excited when you post about astrology! You just seen so knowledgeable and comfortable in your craft, it's a place that I want to be one day with my own! I am struggling a bit with learning astrology though, and find that some sources conflict each other. Do you know any sources you trust that could help me out in my learning? I'd appreciate it so much!
Ahh thanks! I am about to get around writing up Feb’s forecast soon.
Honestly it’s like a hobby and if you expose yourself to little bits of it everyday you start to glean a bunch of knowledge. Anyway I answered a similar ask and put some links in there which you can find here.
It’s a long ramble at first so ignore the first 4ish paragraphs and skip to where I say:  “Some apps I’d recommend for astrology are MoonPhaseCal for the moon” ignore the fact that I’ve mentioned Co-Star cause it’s a crap app. But there are lists of places online you can google stuff and apps you can use.
The thing is that there will be a bunch of astrology info conflicting cause there are different types of astrology. I just work with tropical which is the astrology based on the sun’s movement through the sky. The zodiac signs are actually 30 degree measurements that divide the sky up. They were named after constellations that used to be in those positions like thousands of years ago but they aren’t based exactly where the constellations are. Other types of astrology work with the progression of the equinoxes which means they care about where the actual stars are but tropical astrology is mostly about the sun, asteroids and planets and I find has little to do with other stars. Then some astrology can come off really negative or talk about beneficial/malicious placements but nothing in astrology is flat out good or bad. I think you just need to have good discernment and through observation and practice you will be able to tell what makes sense and what may feel off the mark.
