Watched the first episode of Bite Me, and I couldn't help but smile and laugh the whole time. The main couple arguably spent too long staring at each other motionlessly, but some combination of their chemistry and the fact that they were good enough actors to be able to look at each other like they were too entranced to move made the whole thing work. Also the immense amount of food porn was hilarious but well done. I'm here for it.

ok, IGNORING COMPLETELY THE HORRIBLE WRITING AND EDITING OF THE SECOND HALF OF THIS SHOW AND ALL THE PLOT HOLES
I'm happy seeing them together in the simpliest way, just basking in each other's company.
this scene that from now on i will refer to as "Aue whispering his love to Aek" was a WONDERFUL, almost honeymoon like, this is what they truly are💜

this has been living rent-free in my mind for a few days now so here
🍜 bite me: the series, aue/aek, future!fic (no spoilers), established relationship
(well, i mean — isn’t it already established? how many ways can you say i love you without actually saying the words, really?)
call back to that scene in ep. 3 because omg aue you can’t just say things like these while looking at aek like that
“Can I have a taste?” Aue asked.
Aek looked up from the broth he was gently stirring. The combined smells of boiled meat and vegetables, of herbs and spices, wafted from the pot and filled Aue’s appartment with a warmth that was all of Aek’s making.
Aue had been watching him cook. He didn’t have the excuse of training Aek anymore, but when it was just the two of them, Aek indulged him. More often than not, they cooked together, but sometimes, like tonight, Aue would sit at the kitchen table, or lean against the counter, and just look — look at Aek’s steady hands, at his serene face, at the gentle slope of his nape, until his heart felt close to overflowing. Still, he had waited until the broth was almost done before stepping closer and asking for a taste.
Aek’s mouth curved up in a smile. He put down the ladle and reached for a spoon instead. He took the first sip while Aue, once again, drank in the sight of him — his parted lips, his flushed cheeks, the delicate shadows of his eyelashes. Satisfied with his own preparation, Aek lowered the spoon to dip it into the broth once more, but Aue stopped him with a hand on his arm.
He leaned down and kissed him. It was a simple press of his lips against Aek’s, just enough to feel their softness and their warmth. He pulled away, slowly, and looked into Aek’s eyes. He had the most beautiful eyes — dark, deep and luminous, like the sky behind the stars. Aue had asked him, once, if Aek was trying to hypnotize him, staring up at him like that, but in truth he had barely been joking. He had been as mesmerized by him then as he was now.
Then Aek cupped his jaw and pulled him back in. He captured Aue’s lips with his own and, gently, coaxed them open. The first touch of his tongue against Aue’s had him gripping Aek’s arm a bit tighter. Aek’s mouth was hot and did taste a little of the broth still, a little saltier, a little spicier; his skin and his hair smelled faintly of it, too, from having stood over the pot. Aue breathed him in and kissed him deeply. Underneath it all was Aek, simply Aek, the boy he loved.
Aek leaned back just enough to ask, with a smile that Aue could feel against his own lips: “Good?”
Aue snorted. He nodded, then replied: “Delicious.”
It was Aek’s turn to let out a little laugh. Aue ducked his head and dropped a kiss on his mouth again, then on the tip of his lovely nose, on the apple of a reddened cheek, until both of them startled at the sound of the spoon Aek had still been holding clattering onto the floor.
“Let me,” Aue said.
He picked up the spoon and washed it at the sink before retrieving two bowls from the cupboard and going back to Aek’s side. He handed him one, then the other, watching him ladle out the broth carefully.
They sat at the little kitchen table Aue had already set for two. Aek waited for Aue to begin, looking at him with a slight, expectant tilt of the head. Aue swallowed his first spoonful of broth, savoring the burst of rich, comforting flavors, and smiled at Aek.
“Delicious,” he told him again.
