Reeee! I’m done! My most recent redesign of the twins!

I wanted them to look distinct from each other because, at this point, they’ve stopped communicating with each other.

(TL;DR: they had a fight about how their older siblings treated them. Clara/Catseye couldn’t stand it while Camilo/Cupidwing was completely fine with it)

Differences in beliefs and how they view their past led to Clara/Catseye excommunicating herself from her family. Camilo/Cupidwing took this horribly and both used their clothes to show their distance from the other.

Side note: Clara/Catseye’s outfit is ironic because what she’s wearing is essentially military garb and Suryara/Soundwave had promised to prevent such a thing from happening. Whoops!😬

Not sure I like Camilo/Cupidwing’s hair line. Might change it to be more like a vultures.

Also redid Clara’s scar. The multiple scars were hard to draw and I like how this looks.

Will be redoing the others soon!

Hi Artsy. My most recent designs of Camilo/Cupidwing and Clara/Catseye:

I’ve been researching animal anatomy and made a few tweaks to my designs. Both twins are more animalistic than their parents and I wanted their designs to show that. So I tested their eyebrows and gave them larger lungs ( not seen because clothes). At this point the twins gave cut each other out of their respective lives (long story) hence why their clothes are different. One other big thing is that they both suffer from dissociative amnesia, meaning that they’ve purposely buried their memories of their time on Earth. So once they return the angst will begin.😜 Not sorry.

(PS: Clara/Catseye is Sunni Muslim. She picked it up from Suraya/Soundwave as a child and kept at it because it keeps her grounded and sane.)

(Second thing, I’ve driven myself insane thinking too much about the logistics of human religions and religious practices and how they interact with nonhuman beings. Just dealing with Clara/Catseye’s ear and a hijabi drove me insane. Still haven’t found a good solution, but I’m looking and will continue to try and figure it out/ read: drive myself insane.)

Listen AS A MUSLIM I can tell you wearing (properly) AND DRAWING the Hijab is still a science I haven’t mastered 😂

As long as her neck is covered up, you’re good!

Cops here wear hijabs under their hats which are wound very close to their head so there’s no stray fabric anywhere , unsure if that’s a concept that might help?

To many, Dr. Henry Arkeville was a model of the community. Good looking, charismatic, and excellent at his job. An incredible geneticist, Arkeville had every reason to be proud of his standing in society. A bit too proud unfortunately. But it was thanks to his status that he was able to directly ask the Senate for funding on one of his projects. Arkeville had worked on many Cold Constucts in his time, but felt that they were lacking. Thanks to government mandated restrictions, there was only so far someone could push the body and minds of CCs. (At least that’s what the news and Government said. In reality it was about the cost-effectiveness of such experimentations) But Arkeville believed differently. He thought that with enough tweaking, one could create the ultimate soldier, an Ubermensch if you will.

With sSenate funding, and idea, and and extreme ego, Arkeville set about creating his soldiers. After all, with his skills it can’t be too hard to create? Right?

Right?

Failure after failure and failure followed Arkeville from this point onward. His creations either died young or never made it past gestation. It was a miracle that he was able to create two seemingly stable CCs at all from this. (Clara and Camilo) This affected Arkeville greatly. Once a man extremely confident in his abilities, now his mind was a mess. Only concerned with one goal, create living weapons and being God. In his shattered mind he would be God for creating such beings, a true revolutionary, and admired by all. And anything that stood in his way would be punished. Even his own creations weren’t spared from this treatment.

Instead of gaining adoration for his action however, it led to him being framed by the Senate for embezzlement and eventually sent to the off world prison colony to be dealt with. They were tired of his nonsense and wanted to be done with him.

And that all I have. I don’t really have any more plans for Arkeville in TTB other than he is the creator and torturer of my ocs Clara/Catseye and Camilo/Cupidwing. But if @artsy-hobbitses or anyone else wants to use him, I’m totally cool with it. So long as they give credit to where they got the character I’m fine with it.

Full color version of the twins as children! (7-8 yrs old; they don’t know when they were created)

This was so much fun!! The muse was demanding to be fulfilled and I had to deliver. I even colored in their faces and adult versions:

(Clara/Catseye’s skin color is incorrect in her adult version. Lol! Used the wrong marker. Correct skin/fur color in her face/child version.)

What’s funny is that I always saw the twins outfits as army green but I wasn’t sure about it. So glad that it panned out! They look so good!

(Side note: The twins outfits are slightly different versions of green. Clara/Catseye is a darker shade than Camilo/Cupidwing. It represents that even though they’re twins, they’re their own individuals and aren’t as close as they once had been/will be.)

While I have the finished line art redesigns of my ocs, these two insisted on taking up both my brain space and my phone storage. The number of anthro anatomy photos I now have saved is a bit concerning but totally worth it. This is what the twins anatomy actually looks like. Clara Catseye was based on an image I found on Pinterest. (Posted below:)

While Camilo/Cupidwing’s design was based on a griffin. His waist area is thinner than most b/c he is still technically a human and so has human anatomy. Unlike her brother, Clara/Catseye can choose whether or not she walks on all fours. This is mostly done as a fear response. Either to run away or fight back against an opponent.

(For those who are wondering, the way I drew these was I found a picture/pose I like, stare at it intensely, and then attempt to recreate it by drawing on grid paper. Never once is tracing involved. I just simply stare at a picture until it basically has become burned into my brain and then draw it.)

Finally!!!! I have Camilo/Cupidwing’s face down. Oh man, I was not prepared for the difficulty of drawing birds facing forward. While days were spent looking for references and quite a few failed attempts were made as well. But I like how this turned out. And I think it shows pretty well how intimidating he looks at first before you get to know him. Little bit of personal info on him, unlike his sister, he is a homebody. He prefers to stick to a set schedule and following a set pattern. He isn’t one to look too deeply into someone or something like his sister would. Makes him the far more likeable twin as a result.

Of course, the Universe doesn’t always give us this sense of complacency does it? Perhaps the past has more in store for him than he likes.

Yay!! I finally have Clara/Catseye’s face down! Honestly I couldn’t find anything that worked. The proportions always felt off to me. But of course it all comes together while I’m in class. While I’m supposed to be taking notes!! I swear more than half of my characters only give me ideas at the most in opportune times. It’s never when I want to draw, only when they feel like it.

(For those who are wondering, these were notes taken during my Chicano Studies class.)

The muse hit and it hit hard tonight. Spent the whole day basically working on these two. NGL I really like how these came out. Wasn’t the biggest fan of their old designs and they decided to pester me until I upgraded them. And do I gave in and redid the designs. But these two insisted that I ink the portraits using my special pens. Probably caused one to run out of ink to.

(Also: upgraded facial scars! Still need to do Camilo/Cupidwing’s face profile, but that will come when the muses hits again)

(Also also: Camilo/Cupidwing can’t naturally maintain a standing position for long, this was just so that I had a better grasp of what his clothes looked like)

One thing I should mention, the twins aren’t the same height. I only draw them like that b/c it’s easier for me. Camilo/Cupidwing is 7ft like his mother (if he stood on his hind legs). Clara/Catseye is 5’3” like her father. So beanpole son and bean daughter.

And that’s how this piece got reuploaded. Because I wasn’t satisfied with the line art and it had to match the full-body designs. Hope y’all enjoy the new line-art style. It’s something new that I wanted to try out and I’m really liking the results. Camilo/Cupidwing to hopefully come soon!!!!
