Is there some type of mermaid that could be similiar to the legendary leviathan? Would she persue happiness with a human male like the other mermaids?

Yeah, deep down in the ocean mermaids can get awful big and Levianthan-y. As for the second question, most have probably never seen a human, let alone interact with one, so the who knows?
