Jedi Sophia Headcanons!

- Only people close to her refer to her by her first name. At first its only her family friends within the Medical Corps that she’s done most of her deployments with, but eventually her second in command, Dice, and a handful of other clones are given permission.

- She uses the Force to keep sharp during critical times in the medical bay (ie, when troopers are being brought back in droves from the front line), sometimes staying awake for 40 hours or more. After she sleeps like the dead.

- Its not unusual to find her asleep at her desk or curled up in an empty cot because she couldn’t make it to her room.

- The clones have gotten somewhat superstitious about it- finding her asleep is good luck as it’s a sign that the worst has passed, otherwise she’d be up and working. They leave trinkets and scrimshaws with her as expressions of their thanks, as offerings to the Force or whatever power is out there to protect her, as bids for her good luck to follow them.

- Sophia doesn’t mind it, and can be roused in an emergency, even if they think it’s bad luck to do so.

- She tends to be very touchy in her healing, and touch-starved clones tend to gravitate to her pleasant aura and the hot-cold of her hands.

- Matching their sass comes naturally to the healer; she’s a natural in their conversations because she can relate to being born into a role, and that role taking and taking and taking with no allowance for complaint. Working disasters and epidemics and war zones has given her a dark humor and an understanding of how awful this all is.

Name: Evangeline Sophia Leng

Age: 23 Standard

History: Born on the temperate planet of Nibiru, Sophia was living an orphanage when a Jedi Seeker came looking for her. Only flashes of memory remain of the orphanage and of her parents.

She was apprenticed to Master Corryn Stahlev- a talented healer and capable teacher, but by no means a mother. Sophia was raised in the ruins of cities after natural disasters and travelling between rural towns during epidemics. Her experience has been rough and tumble, seeing people during the worst days of their lives.

Becoming a knight changed little for her. She served in the field one mission on her own, leading a squad of Medical Corps staff to assist in the management of a viral outbreak.

She had only recently returned to the Temple when the Clone Wars broke out. Rushed out to assignment on the Resurgam, she was in charge of the capital ship’s medical bays and the hundreds of staff that manned them. Heavy losses and the bursts of deaths felt across the Force wore the Healer down, but none so much as the destruction of the Resurgam. She and a handful of her staff and patients survived through the efforts of her and her Force sensitive companions.

Field deployments exacted their own toll. Sophia had known some conflict in her service prior to the war, bit never quite so much injury to herself or to other Jedi. Scars collected, including a burst of shrapnel wounds across her face when a pipe bomb had been placed among their supplies by insurgents during a relief mission.

During disasters or pandemics, she could always reach out to the Temple for relief, but with the war, the whole galaxy was burning, and there were no additional Medical Corps or Healers to tackle the gargantuan task of dealing with the wounded. Sophia struggles with the colossal loss of life under her care, the sleepless nights and the endless hours of triage. She sees their faces- a thousand iterations- in her nightmares, and on the operating tables.

What are some of the places sophia has served as a healer?

Her master particularly preferred to work in emergency response capacities, so while Sophia did serve in the Temple, most of her years as a padawan were in some of the most stricken parts of Republic space.

There was the outbreak of Rojo Fever in Wendrosca. Then the Ekith massacre, a civil war conflict on Uldis. The Ishamee disaster at Rincuh.

Her first and only mission as a Knight before the Clone wars was dealing with an outbreak of Hardan plague on a Mid-Rim planet called Dumal. She spent just over a year there before returning to the Temple.

During the war she had a number of assignments. Sophia was among those at the Kaliida Shoals Medical Center when it was attacked by the Malevolence. She served on the Resurgam, seeing conflicts such as the Battle of Kamino, until its destruction by Separatist forces.
