April 24, 1967 - Ensign James W. Laing ejects from the rear seat of an F-4 Phantom II of Fighter Squadron (VF) 114 after the aircraft was hit by antiaircraft fire during a strike on Kep Airfield in North Vietnam. The pilot, Lieutenant Charles Southwick, ejected after this photograph was taken. Before bailing out of their airplane, the pair was credited with shooting down a North Vietnamese MiG-17.
