Ferrari FX
After more than 50 special commissions, Pininfarina was given the responsibility of creating a Ferrari tailored to the needs of Prince Abdul Azim, son of Hassanal Bolkiah, better known as the Sultan of Brunei. And among those needs, the challenge was included that this Ferrari had a sequential gearbox, with a device that automates the disengagement and engagement process, so that a touch on a button, or a lever, was enough to change gears. A very common solution in these times, in which the standard for a sports car is a good automatic transmission with dual-clutch technology, but also an almost crazy idea, due to how complex it would be to achieve optimal and refined performance, when Azim commissioned from Pininfarina in 1994.
Paolo Garella, head of prototypes and special projects at Pininfarina, would entrust the task of adapting its sequential change to the vee-shaped twelve-cylinder engine of the Ferrari Testarossa - which would be the basis of this creation - to Prodrive. That Ferrari FX would have, as it could not be less, with a completely new bodywork, the work of Pininfarina. The Italian study would be in charge of creating a body completely assembled in carbon fiber, a solution that was quite a surprise at the beginning of the 1990s due to the complexity and cost of the process to create the panels.
Its aesthetics could hardly hide the fact that a Ferrari Testarossa and a Ferrari 512 TR are hidden under it, with the improvements that Ferrari applied on the basis of the original Testarossa. And it will probably surprise you, and a lot, that in its design, especially on its front, we already find details such as generous, very rounded air inlets, in contrast to the sharp lines of the Testarossa, which already resemble, very much, the Ferrari 360 Modena that we would not know until 1999.

I'm sure we're taller in another dimension
You say we're small and not worth the mention
You're tired of movin', your body's achin'
We could vacay, there's places to go
Clearly this isn't all that there is
Can't take what's been given
But we're so okay here, we're doing fine

Score: An Alternative Approach
Alex knows a guy called Kenny who does jazz drumming, we reached out and he said he’d be up for it!
youtube
I watched this video on Ford vs Ferrari a few weeks ago. It was in my YouTube suggestions after watching the video about Boiling Point; I was cooking dinner and I wanted some background noise and it was interesting enough and then I forgot about it. Until a few days later when I had an epiphany in the shower.
As I mentioned in the last post, we’ve been talking about potentially using drums as a soundtrack. I think the conversation stemmed out of narrative inspirations from Whiplash and how it builds tension, but obviously drumming is not a narrative focus in our film. It also reminds me of the use of drums in Birdman, although I don’t expect our film to use a shot of the drummer for some meta, self reflexive swerve. Clearly though, drums are good at creating tension.
In the video I watched about Ford vs Ferrari they were talking about the engine noises for the cars, and explained how the composer had matched the key of the guitars to the key of the engine roar. Until they stripped back each element and brought it back in, you couldn’t even really distinguish between what was engine and what was guitar because they blended together so well. It reminds me of something Leo said ages ago about using one sound to ‘sweeten’ another (which I think I’ve mentioned it in everything I’ve ever written about sound since, sorry for the repetition).
The epiphany: we should try and layer the drums hits under the kicks and impacts e.g when a player kicks the ball, when Will falls to the ground etc.
I wasn’t totally convinced on using drums before. I was hesitant to even talk to Ben about music because I thought it would be running before we could walk. Despite this lack of confidence, I have actually worked with music in film before, but on an experimental documentary, an art film really, called Cisza which used musical instruments partly as score, partly as sound effect - and unconventionally so, in both respects.
I’m not entirely sure how well the drum hits and the fx will compliment each other but it’s definitely something we should at least test. I feel a lot more comfortable approaching score now we have an actual intention behind it - one that involves blending it with sound effects, and therefore is closer to work I have done in the past. From working on Cisza, I’ve already explored an alternative approach to music composition, which should hopefully set me in good stead for this project. I feel semi-confident that maybe I am the right person to be working on this project, that maybe my individual voice might come through in the final sound design??

Vowles says extraordinary driver Alonso key factor behind Aston Martins recent F1 charge
New Williams team boss James Vowles has offered his thoughts on the F1 pecking order, and specifically the step taken by Aston Martin over the winter, after the green machine impressed at the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix. Building on their pre-season promise, Aston Martin were at the sharp end of the action in Sakhir as Fernando Alonso topped both Friday and Saturday practice, before posting the fifth-fastest time in qualifying – behind only the Red Bull and Ferrari cars. READ MORE: ‘This is just the beginning’ – Alonso warns there is ‘more to come’ from himself and Aston Martin after Bahrain podium On race day, the 41-year-old displayed his racing guile with bold passes on Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes and Carlos Sainz’s Ferrari – while making the most of Charles Leclerc’s retirement – to claim a stunning podium for himself and his new team. Asked about the progress their rivals had made, Vowles was keen to note the performance of two-time world champion Alonso, and injured team mate Lance Stroll, alongside what Aston Martin have been doing back at their factory. “I think they have an extraordinary driver who’s in the car. Lance did very well as well. That’s not taking anything away from them – the team’s taken some large steps forward,” said Vowles over the Bahrain weekend. Please update your cookie preferences 2023 Bahrain Grand Prix: The key moves that saw Alonso race to a podium finish on Aston Martin debut “They’re clearly investing […] to go forward. The wind tunnel is a shared entity with Mercedes, the whole rear of the car is pretty much a shared entity with Mercedes, so what they’ve done well is aerodynamic development.” Vowles suggested, however, that the performance shift may also have something to do with certain teams under-performing at the 2023 opener – Alpine and McLaren both encountering tricky events and his former Mercedes squad set to go “radical” with future developments in response to their lacklustre showing. READ MORE: Verstappen hopes Alonso can join the F1 title fight as he says race wins are ‘definitely on the table’ for Aston Martin “I ask the question back to you: I wonder if... perhaps some of the other teams have lost their way a little bit, and that they’ll come back to the fore. I still think it’s very difficult to consistently break into the top three,” he commented. While Aston Martin push to break into F1’s front-running group, Vowles is focused on strengthening the Williams operation, building a solid foundation and helping to lift them off the foot of the F1 constructors’ standings – a position they fell to last season. Alonso and Aston Martin mixed it with Vowles’ former team, Mercedes, in Bahrain One person Vowles could call on for some extra background before taking up the role was George Russell, with whom he worked at Mercedes, and Williams’ new leader is gradually painting the full picture of the operation that he needs. Asked if he had ‘downloaded’ Russell’s knowledge of Williams from his three seasons racing there, Vowles replied: “Not everything you can get. As you go through the process and you learn certain elements, it’s interesting to bounce those ideas and thoughts. READ MORE: Vowles says Williams will decide on power unit supplier for 2026 this year “But he’s been, as Toto [Wolff, Mercedes Team Principal] has, as many other people have, incredibly useful in understanding some of the strengths and weaknesses of Williams.” A weakness Vowles has already set about addressing is the lack of a Technical Director, following the departure of FX Demaison over the winter – the Briton recently commenting that it is his top priority. via Formula 1 News https://www.formula1.com

A girl can’t even study for her exam and F1 is playing the circus again. Binotto out-Vasseur in at Ferrari. Andres Seild our-Andrea Stella in at McLaren. Whatever is happening at Williams and Alfa Romeo. And it’s not even lunch time here 😅
Also my favorite: FiA president shaming the budget cap in front of CH at the gala.
Vasseur going to Ferrari is not really a surprising move. I think the rumor has been out since November?
I am surprised by Seidl moving to Sauber, especially considering that (allegedly) Ferrari had approached him as well and he said no 👀 I wonder if he took a good look at what was happening at Ferrari and said "fuck that circus lmao"
I'm at a loss in regards to what is happening at Williams. There was no indication of the team being unhappy with Jost and Fx? So 🤷‍♀️

So while everyone's (well... Ferrari fans) waiting for Vasseur's confirmation, Jost Capito drops the bomb about him leaving his Williams TP job out of nowhere? And there is lots of (old I guess) gossip about him and Demaison sharing a flat and drinking wine together?! This is too funny, feels like this summer break's first week when all bombs dropped together and then nothing happened for the rest of the break haha!
I’m honestly assuming this is all part of the same play tbh. The fact FX is going as well is a bit too much of a coincidence. Jost and FX have a lot of experience with VW, so Vasseur to Ferrari and Jost and FX to Sauber in preparation for the Audi takeover doesn’t seem hugely unlikely tbh.
The problem is it leaves Williams with no one obvious to take over the role just yet. I know loads of people have said Susie, but I don’t think she’d do it. Although talking of ex FE principals, Allan McNish has F1 experience and TP experience, although also is already aligned to Audi so possibly wouldn’t get snapped up by Williams.

Watching FP2 now. The only thing I've enjoyed so far has been hearing Seb rev the engine during the Sound FX lap. Charles is currently in the lead, which is beautiful. George is pulling in some great laps, but overall, being a Merc fan is sad as per usual this season. But I'm happy for Ferrari and I would like to hear Seb rev the engine again.

So you have to leave a car running a little has said chocolate and said Ferrari and him look at the plate because it's coated I went and checked and figured I wanted means check to where I came from a local service and they went down and asked some questions and said could . They changing fluid out pieces together and it turns out to be very bad FX it's a movie that Trump and his son are in and help them figure it out
It's a Ferrari is the dark horse and his papa owns
Hera he's too tired he has to get rest sleep is still nasty as it is the other side was
It's the cold on the Ferrari the code and comfort it out as fast it means him check the other plates and it's all the same it's not rubbing a damn thing in anyone's face. we hear him singing and say things and he does not mean any of it. Just trying to kidnap him and we've had enough of that guy so put it in for him to be dismissed.
I found out a whole bunch of things today but our people are our friends and my husband is a man a real one since they're torture and torments and he turned it around it's recruiting, yes. And we went ahead and started things started businesses up and they started construction it was stalled out. Then there's this huge thing came out and he had help with this part but really it's going to change what's going on and it is that Tommy F and his company let the ships to lapidate and didn't do anything to preserve them I'm in the ruined and they're ruined in the too big and he is not doing anything from the beginning and all has men died fighting over something that was already defunct. Lots of people want to know what the letter said.
I know today I had to work that was hard the same things about me all day I'm pretty girl but that's that pretty all that stuff and my husband said I'm prettier than her. All sorts of weirdos came out.
They are a message again they are amazing again girl talking about our clan and they realize something these people don't know what you're doing and it is ruined
