What a difference 56 years makes juxtaposition of Abarth 1000 SP, 1966 & Abarth Classiche 1000 SP, 2022. The Stellantis Heritage Department has announced a limited edition based on the Alfa Romeo 4C that recalls the original Fiat-based race car from the mid-60s. The original was based on the Fiat 600, for homologation purposes in addition to the race version 50 road cars were built. The new Classiche version has the same 237hp 1.75 litre turbocharged, mid-mounted 4 cylinder engine as the 4C and will be made in an edition of 5 cars

Abarth SE 030, 1974, by Pininfarina. A racing prototype based on the Fiat X1/20 project that became Lancia's Montecarlo. The SE 030 was powered by a mid/rear mounted 3.2 litre version of the Ferrari-built Dino 120º V6 as fitted to Fiat's 130. The car was entered in the 1974 Giro d’Italia crewed by Giorgio Pianta and Cristine Becker, it took second place overall, behind a Lancia Stratos.
