This might be a turning point in my photography. I plan to give up all the equipment and work with only 2 cameras, each with a fixed focal length.
I have been using the first model of the Leica Q for some time now. The focal length of 28 mm was strange to me and actually much too wide. But the Q showed me how to photograph properly. When I'm out and about with the Leica Q, I see more pictures than when I walk around town with a bag full of lenses from 17 to 200 mm. And the Q is also much lighter.
Besides the Leica Q, I almost only use the Sony A7RM3 with a 55 mm Zeiss lens. Camera and lens are dreamlike without any question. I very rarely use the many other lenses. So I sell everything and buy one … preferably a Leica Q with a Summicron 50 mm f2. But that doesn't exist, and probably never will.
So I decided on a Leica M 240 with the appropriate lens. My photo bag will be much lighter, and I'll shoot with good cameras and my favourite lenses.
I hope the plan works out. That would be nice …

I've been lusting after a Leica Q2 for a while even though I don't shoot digitally. I honestly don't know what it is about that camera that makes me want it but I WANT IT.
I absolutely positively can't afford it and honestly I don't even know if I'd like shooting with it anyway, since it has that fixed 28mm prime lens and that's really wide. My main lens recently has been my Canon EF 28–105 mm but I tend to use it more in the 50-75mm range rather than super wide, and I don't like using it for street photography because it's not exactly unobtrusive.
I was looking into buying a 28mm prime but even the Canon f/2.8 starts at about £120 used, and I just don't have that.
BUT
I had a realisation.
A few months ago I picked up a Canon AE-1 Program for an absolute steal. It unfortunately doesn't work - the shutter doesn't fire and it can't wind on, a very common problem that can be fixed with a service. Even more unfortunate is the fact that I can't afford to service it. But it did come with a few lenses that looked pretty nice, and I wanted to try them out. The AE-1 uses the FD mount rather than the EF mount on my 500N, so I picked up a converter.
It turns out that vintage FD lenses are pretty fucking cheap. I'm currently bidding on a Sigma 28mm f/2.8 and it's looking like I'll get it for under £20. It's also not the smallest lens in the world, but it's much less obnoxiously sized than my 28-105mm and having a prime will force me to get comfortable with that focal length. And then one of two things will happen: I'll find I love it, and I can start saving to buy a Leica in like...5 years. Or I'll find that actually I really hate it, and then the desire to get the Q2 will magically dissipate.
I do wish I could find a slightly faster lens, but f/2.8 is still pretty quick (and probably more than fast enough for my purposes). But if anyone knows any good vintage 28mm lenses that can be had cheap (i.e. less than £50ish) and that use a mount for which converters to EF mounts exist (and that's EF, not EF-S), please do let me know!

The GR lens has been imbued with our unique optical technology that aims to always provide high image quality. The GR III uses a slim optical system consisting of 6 elements 4 groups with a focal length of 18.3 mm (approx. 28 mm in 35 mm equivalent focal length) and aperture of F2.8. The GR IIIx uses a newly developed optical system consisting of 7 elements 5 groups with a new focal length of 26.1 mm (approx. 40 mm in 35 mm equivalent focal length). High-refractive index low-dispersion glass lenses and aspherical high-precision molded glass lenses are optimally placed in the lens construction according to each model’s optical system to suppress optical distortion and chromatic aberration to the absolute limit, delivering a high level of sharpness. This results in images that are sharp and clear across the entire frame even from the full aperture setting. The detailed descriptive power of the 24.2 M large APS-C format image sensor. GR III/GR IIIx is equipped with a high-resolution, wide dynamic range APS-C format CMOS image sensor (approx. 24.24 effective megapixels). High resolution sensor which can handle a large size print and an anti-aliasing (AA) filterless construction that utilizes the characteristics of the high-resolution lens for high-definition detail reproduction. Both the image sensor and lens are also optimized for the best possible image quality. 3-axis, 4-step Shake Reduction for high image quality across a wide shooting range. Camera shake is reduced for crisp images even when taking split-second snapshots. Shake Reduction(SR) is installed while making the body size of GR III/GR IIIx compact. It minimizes the shake on three axes, including yaw, pitch and roll. Compensation effects deliver as many as 4 steps of shutter speed*. * Measured in conformity with CIPA standards. ,Officially I know of no lens panels fitted for enlarging lens mounts bigger
than 50mm. Both the Lapla 50 and Roding lens panels have 50mm threads. Today,
anything larger is considered a custom size.
All of the current lens panels are approximately 80 mm (3-1/8") in outer
diameter. Some are metal and some are plastic. Both can be used
interchangeably. Recommended focal lengths can change somewhat from one
enlarger to another due to the available length of bellows, but in general the
numbers given below will be true.
Siriopla 39 = plastic, relatively flat w/ 39mm threaded lens mount, usually
used with 50-90mm lenses (essentially the same thing in metal is Lapla 39)
Siriotub 39 = plastic, recessed lens panel (recessed about 15mm), w/ 39mm
threaded lens mount, for short lenses usually 35-50mm (same thing in metal is
Setopla 2839)
Vegatub 39 = plastic, w/ 39mm threaded lens mount, extended lens panel (40mm
extension) generally used for 100-105mm lenses. Includes a red filter on an
extension arm so the filter can swing under the mounted lens. (Normal red
filters would not be able to fit in front of the lens with their short mounting
shafts.)
Flaring = plastic lens mount adapter to fit 25mm threaded lenses into 39mm
threaded lens panels.
Neriotub = plastic recessed lens panel (approximately 40mm recessed) w/ 39mm
threaded lens mount, for use with 28-35mm enlarging lenses. Metal equivalent
is Seipla.
Lapla 39, Lapla 42 Lapla 50 = metal, flat lens panel threaded as indicated by
the number. Generally used with 80-150mm lenses. Plastic equivalent is
Siriopla 39.
Setopla 2839 = metal, recessed (approx. 17mm) lens panel, w/ 39mm threaded lens
mount, generally used with 35-50mm lenses. Plastic equivalent is Siriotub 39.
Seipla 7539 = metal recesses (approx. 33mm) lens panel, w/ 39mm threaded lens
mount, generally used with 28mm enlarging lenses. Plastic equivalent is
Neriotub.
Femotub = metal extension tubes for use with any of the above lens panels, to
extend the bellows for closer focusing, when making reductions. It attaches to
the lens stage of the enlarger, and then you attach the lens panel to the
Femotub.
Roding 50 = metal extended lens panel for use with 135 - 150mm lenses with 50mm
lens thread.

Lenses
Category: Research and planning
Camera and camera equipment play a huge role in how the results turn out. One of the major factors are lenses. Different lenses should be used for different types of shots. A good example of this is “Man VS wild” show that uses different macro and high aperture lenses to show different things in nature, larger and smaller animals are shown. I decided to research some lenses may help me achieve an effect suitable for a trailer such as this one.
I learned about the Laowa 24mm probe lens. It’s minimum focus distance is 1.5 feet. Which is approximately the distance form the lens’s front to the camera. This allows the user to be extremely close to the object and still have it be in focus, resulting in a larger than life perspective. I want to use this lens while taking close ups of the murder weapon. The scene we have planed involves a knife stabbed into a bulletin board, as blood drips off of it. This lens in my perspective would be perfect to show both the bloody weapon and the photo it is stabbing on the bulletin board while being in focus and not losing its depth.
Tumblr media
Another useful lens is the 28- 70 mm F2 L lens. This is pretty much an all in one lens due to its large focal length. This will allow me to use only one lens for most of the shoot, saving time while not compromising on the quality of image. It is a lens that provides sharp shots so if I want softer results without relaying on editing I will have to switch between lenses. It is also quite a heavy lens and as I already struggle with hand held shots due to not being able to handle the weight, this lens may cause some problems with stable output for handheld shots. I may have to take several retakes which could waste time we could not afford to waste as we are only allowed a 2 day shoot and some of our actors were only available on one day. The all in one aspect may have helped but it risks a lot of other problems it is also expensive.
Tumblr media
Lens number three is the 85mm F2 RF Prime lens by cannon. It has the best focal length for tight shots. I plan on adding lots of close ups and tight shots to show emotion up close, making shots more personal. This lens will allow me to achieve just that with clarity.
Tumblr media
Forth on this list is the 35mm F1.8  RF Prime lens. This is a wide lens that allows for the shot to capture more background while the subject still pops out due to the aperture being F1.8. This I want to use for 2 shot scenes, including the party scene where in 2 characters are dancing. It will allow me to focus on them while still showing the party around them, it will show how the couple is engrossed in one another, emphasising their love for one another. I also want to use it for the shot of Suhana (the victim) walking into a crowded cafeteria that will allow me to single her out and show her personality that demands attention while also showing a commotion in the background.
Tumblr media
The last and probably the most essential of all, the 50mm F1.8. This lens allows for clear shots in low light settings. The theme of the trailer is murder on the night of Halloween, there is bound to be a lot of low light shots. To capture these with the clarity and precision of professional cinematography this lens will be my best option. This lens also allows for fast autofocus, so i will not have to spend much time on refocusing each shot.

12 Best Canon Lenses For Wedding Photography
Best Lenses For Shooting Weddings
The color making is saturated and contrast. At f/2. 8, the lens is sharp in the entire zoom diapason and has a low distortion level. Vignetting shows up only at an open aperture, flare defense is at a high level. Photographed with Canon 24-70mm f/2. 8L II Wide-angle lenses for wedding event photography need to be treated with extreme care due to the fact that many of the lenses of this type have geometric distortions, which are unacceptable for weddings.
At f/1. 4, vignetting is visible. The lens comes from the line of expert optics and varies from the more youthful variation with the f/2 technically enhanced construct, which has advanced optics. The lens speed is a whole action above, but it is 3 times more costly, half longer and weighs twice as much.
Best Nikon Lenses For Wedding Photography
The lens is heavy however not large, and it is an advantage. Comparing To Tokina AT-x 16-28 mm f/2. 8, which does not fit in any bag, this one is of a compact size. There are particular drawbacks, concerning sharpness, which is absent at an open aperture and the corners are fuzzy at f/8.
If you shoot with crop matrix, you don't need to eliminate the blend. The lens is advised for indoor shooting, but you will require to raise the ISO to get enough lens speed. A macro lens isn't the type of lenses that you must have if you wish to shoot a wedding.
Best Lenses For Wedding Photography
In spite of a certain specialization (macro photography), the lens can have a more universal application, for instance, in still-life photography, when you need to be more mindful with small details. That's why it can likewise be called the very best Sony lens for wedding photography. Easily, the lens can be advised to shoot reportages and other footage.
The peak of resolution falls on F4. In the center of the shot, the lens may surpass the sensing unit limitation in some camera models. The edges of the shot are very sharp, though they aren't as great. At F5. 6, the maximum level of even detailization is achieved all over the frame field.
Best Lens For Wedding Photography
I've already informed you about the pros and cons of every one. The is, the better results you get. However not constantly you can get a lens with the essential focal length and large lens speed. Zoom lenses often have lower lens speed than fix lenses. That is why you need to decide, whether you want to take delightful pictures blurring the background and drawing bokeh, and constantly transfer to get closer or approach the subject just by moving your hand with the lens speed of 2-3 levels less.
However, now there is rather a big selection of wide-angle lenses with minimal distortions. You should, specifically in group pictures, because if there are people, who are very near the edge of the frame, there is a possibility that they can be extended. Focusing speed depends not only on the lens but also on the cam itself.
Best Nikon Lenses For Wedding Photography
It all together will weigh 7 pounds. But usually, good optical instruments and gadgets weigh a lot, and it isn't reasonable to take 5 lenses if you do not have a second shooter. It is better to take a number of lenses that will have an average weight but which will not cause much discomfort.
Tumblr media
Evolving your design, keeping your abilities up, and remaining on top of market patterns are all part of continuously working on becoming a much better professional photographer. When it concerns buying the very best lens for shooting wedding events, it's likewise essential to think of the elements surrounding the particular wedding event you're shooting.

If the couple employed you to work for less than 4 hours (essentially https://photograpyqti570.shutterfly.com/27 simply wedding event portraits and the ceremony), it may not make sense to bring a bag loaded with lenses. On the opposite side of the spectrum, if you're shooting a full day of 12 hours (or longer), you'll wish to have more choices.
In some cultures, a wedding can last several days. This could require you to utilize a variety of lenses for the dozens of mini-ceremonies that happen throughout the period of the wedding. Understanding Photographs
Tumblr media
Laguz
Visual
In focus in the foreground we see a woman in a beige coloured medieval style dress with golden trimmings on the shoulder and tribal style paint on her face. In the background out of focus a rugged mountainous landscape. Reflections in the loch from the shadow of the mountain making the surface of the water much darker. Little to no negative space. Photo taken from close range
 Technical
Image was taken on a Canon EOS 750D, a light weight, mid-entry level digital DSLR with a 22.3 x 14.9 mm image sensor that 24.2 megapixels.
Lens used was a Sigma DG 28-70mm 1:2.8 EX with UV and Polariser lens filters
With the camera set to AV for Aperture priority, the settings were; ISO 100, Aperture F/2.8, Shutter timer 1/320, Focal length 38.0mm. No flash used. Available light: Bright, mid-afternoon sunlight with some clouds.
Image was then edited in Adobe Lightroom. Cropped and rotated slightly to make the image more balanced. Highlights, shadows and colour tones adjusted for a stronger and cleaner looking picture.
 Contextual
The woman on the left leans down from a small boulder to cup some water in her hands from a mountain loch to drink following an exhausting walk 400m up-hill walk in sweltering summer heat with little to no breeze. By the time we reached this location, the woman had used up all of her bottled water and resorted to drinking directly from the clean fresh water from the rivers and lochs to re-hydrate. This is one of fourteen final images selected to publish.
 Conceptual
I was hugely inspired by a recent music movement from Scandinavia, Germany and Siberia, promotional photos of experimental folk bands and musical artists who base their sound, instruments and visual aesthetic from pre-historic times, Nordic and Celtic culture, mythology, iron age clothing ancient runes and writings. Very primal, tribal and earthy. I wanted to create something along those lines in the remote west highlands at a place called Loch Corie Lair, a beautiful landscape that has barely changed since the ice age.
As mentioned in the context, the subject was extremely thirsty and overheated from a long walk uphill to the location. Human’s basic primal need of water to keep alive and healthy.  The title of this image is Laguz is reconstructed Proto-Germanic name of the L-rune meaning water or lake, in old Anglo-Saxon English the word ‘Lagu’ means ocean, and in Old Norse the word ‘Logr; means water or waterfall.
if any of this made any actual sense to anyone... well done...
