Alright, new Gundam Seed Freedom Trailer (and other materials)
We now know what most of the new Main Character Mobile suit designs are - we have the new Rising Freedom Gundam (shown above) and Athrun’s new suit, the Immortal Justice Gundam, which seems to be patterned more off the Aegis this time around (the red colour scheme and it’s a little bulkier).
Tumblr media
I’m going to wait until the movie actually comes out for my full opinions on the designs, but notable features are:
The Rising Freedom seems to be based at least partially on the Destiny Gundam, as seen with it’s forearms, chest and shoulders (makes sense).
The Gelgoog Menace, which is almost certainly Lunamaria’s new suit, appears to be a directly upgraded Zaku Warrior, presumably with a greater emphasis on close-combat.
Shinn’s apparently back in the Impulse, almost certainly so they can reuse the model design.
I think that the Immortal Justice is going to be a transforming unit (the Rising Freedom kind of is already).
While the Gyan Strom certainly appears to be *checks notes* Agnes Gieberath’s new mobile suit, I should call out that there were two of them alongside the Immortal Justice in the trailer, so it might be that it’s a limited-production suit handed out to ZAFT’s best? It’s possible that Yzak and Dearka might also be piloting them.
The Shi-ve and Rud-ro of the Black Knight Squadron (boring name) *seem* to be patterned after the Crossbone Vanguard? Though that might just be the head fins. Otherwise, I find the Rud-ro’s rather generic looking.
From what we can tell, the Black Knight Squadron is going to be backing ZAFT (we see DINNs in the background in the trailer) and is composed of these characters (going off the matching colours and approximate numbers):
Tumblr media
(I would go through them all but honestly I think only two at most are going to matter).
My final point is; What’s with everyone using old equipment? All I’m seeing in the trailers is GINNs, DINNs, ZuOOTs and 105 Daggers. The Impulse is maybe excusable, but it’s odd. I’d buy that ZAFT reproduced an upgraded GINN after the second Bloody Valentine War, but if they’re all using outdated equipment then it really doesn’t sell them as actual threats to the Protagonists. Yes, they should still be stopped, but it makes it feel like the conflict between the two forces is background, when the Tragedy of War is kind of Gundam’s whole thesis statement.
(Though again, I’ll probably complain a lot less is this gives us new kits for the GINN and DINN)

Title: Kirby's Impulse Silhouette Packs
Another related post from my previous throwback is the current "III - Cuteness Leader" Kirby 🪐⭐, with his current trio of armored Impulse's Silhouette Packs based on the actual mecha counterparts from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny" 🤖📺, and their recent film "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom" (which, I'm still debate if I want it to go theaters, once again or not...🤔). 🤖🎞️

And High Grade Dagger L built!
Really fun kit, lots of cool poses, good looking weapons, and some pretty good articulation too. Overall a very sleek, simple, and nice design!
It’s also my first kit for Gundam SEED as a whole. Also a SEED Destiny kit and not SEED proper, so I am technically breaking my sorta weak rule on not buying kits from shows I haven’t started yet. I am planning on watching Destiny right after though, so I’m not too bothered by that. I have less of an excuse when it comes to the Zaku Warrior kit I also bought, but in my defense… both of these were cheap.
I also am just not a huge fan of a lot of SEED designs I find. Very bright colors that I’m just eh on. I don’t dislike any of them though so there’s that. I do find I like the designs of the Providence and the Force Impulse Gundams though, but I haven’t gotten to those in the show yet.
But continuing with the grunt theme of the Zaku and the Dagger, my first original SEED kit will probably be either the M1 Astray or the GINN. I thought it would’ve been from the Astray manga cause it’s called Astray, but apparently I was wrong about that.
My next kit to build will be one of the two 1/100s I have, so I’ll leave that up to a poll between the Full Mechanics Gundam Aerial and the Master Grade Ver Ka ZZ Gundam. Either one is fine by me, but I understand one is a lot more complicated than the other.

Just some impulse thoughts on the penultimate episode of Witch from Mercury
>Also, poor Felsi; she really wanted to be on the plot-important main character squad, not referee dudes engaging in a foolish squabble. Of course, if either Guel or Lauda had died, there would have been drama, so good on Felsi for nipping that in the bud (don’t worry Felsi, I believe the series will get continued in some way, you’ll have more chances to become an honorary member of Earth House I’m sure).
>I think we can all agree that Suletta would be an absolute beast at bullet hole shmups, right? At very least, I think it’s pretty clear there’s literally no one else who can survive a game of laser tag with Eri like that.
>Miorine calls back to being lowkey one of the funniest characters in the show when she pulls out that keychain to worry about Suletta; like don’t misunderstand, it’s very sweet too, and I’m glad that the show’s been repeatedly demonstrating her and Suletta thinking about the other in these very personal ways, but it’s also funny cause I’m willing to bet that Miorine realized that, since Suletta was willing to forgive her, that meant she had kept the keychain, and that Miorine was the one who had to ask for it back.
>Y’know, between his conflicted feelings about his brother and the negative media spin about Miorine, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to conclude from an (ignorant) perspective like Lauda’s that Miorine is secretly evil and has been manipulating Guel, though I do think it’s another instance of the show stressing the importance of communication, since, if Guel had informed Lauda, his corporate heir apparent, of the details of his deal with Miorine, Lauda might not have leapt to the absurd conclusions he did.
>On the other hand, Lauda’s choice of timing to try to assassinate the supposedly evil CEO of space before she disarmed a doomsday device was definitely him being reckless and acting without thought.
>On the third hand, at least the Scwarzette looked cool, regardless of how one might feel about its pilot.
>So, Haros really are the moogles of Gundam, huh: cute, but genuinely dangerous in the wrong circumstances.
>Kenanji, while I do like that you’re trying to be mindful of your past sins and not make this a murder mission, I do feel like in this specific instance it would have been okay to let the kids have weapons (I’m generally very anti-gun, but I feel like there can be some exceptions to that, such as boarding a hostile space station equipped with a doomsday device).
>Sisters fighting : (
>Who *are* you talking to, Eri? Is that you Notrette? Are you a data-ghost too? Tell me your secrets
>Of course it comes back to tomatoes. Tomatoes really are love in this show (and witchcraft, let’s not forget).
>I’m glad Bel tried to do a good thing, and despite the moral cowardice she’s repeatedly shown, I was actually worried she was going to die.
>I’m not surprised at all that No. 5 secretly had a gun (was it Norea’s originally?). I am pleasantly surprised that he went for a shot that didn’t kill Prospera though.
>I am a bit surprised at folks complaining that the Space Assembly League chose to weaponize technology (that had been established for another purpose) and use it to ‘accidently’ fire a giant f-off laser. Like, first, the League’s been established as a gov’t. organization, so it’s not unreasonable for them to have access to the equivalent of a nuke, and second, weaponizing technology that was intended for a peaceful purpose was how this whole mess with Gundams got started in the first place, so it makes sense to call back to that.
>Miorine showing Prospera that, actually, the best revenge is forcing one’s enemy to live with the knowledge that she’s going to be family, whether she likes it or not.
>I’m not crying about Eri yet, because I’m not going to believe she’s dead until they confirm it next episode. I do think they made it equally plausible for her to live or die, though, and I like that they chose to spare Suletta or Miorine from ambiguous character death cliffhanger (which, let’s be frank, I don’t think anyone would have really believed), and instead did it with a character where there’s real uncertainty and tension.
>Besides, if Eri does live, I think there’s some genuinely interesting narrative choices they could make with that in any hypothetical continuation, not to mention it would continue with the show’s nuanced takes on transhumanism. Like, a lot of shows just frame it as ‘transhumanism = bad’, or, at best, misguided, but it does seem like we’re supposed to root for Dr. Cardo Nabo’s original ideals, not to mention we have a main character who’s a clone and is not particularly angsty about it (nor is her love interest for that matter), and trying to figure out a place for Eri in the world without, y’know, resorting to terrorism, would be an interesting way to continue the show.
>And now the big question: where the *heck* is this finale going? Maybe it would do us all good to take a deep breath, drink some water, touch some grass, and perhaps treat ourselves to a nice bowl of goat milk soup.
>Since it looks like there’s a good chance Prospera will survive, I wonder if she’ll escape Benerit’s retribution and end up pulling a Quattro Bajeena? It would be very funny if she ended showing up now and then to help Suletta and Miorine, with the latter two *well* aware of who she actually was.
>Also, I wonder why Prospera's Permet mark looks like that? It looks cool, but it's also vrry different from the others we've seen.

Woohoo Gundam SEED Freedom 3rd Trailer! LET'S GOOOOOO ONTO MECHA P**N Trailer!!! 🤣
Kira Yamato, IKEMASU!!!! - oh how that line really relives the childhood nostalgia that lives inside me.
Here comes the new Freedom! and it transforms! Waverider Mode! I wasn't really impressed with the new design until I watched the trailer. The design seems like a mixture of OG Freedom/Destiny/Zeta gundam. But when it transforms and some close up shots, it really reminds me of the Zeta gundam. It's cool that Kira will have a transformable unit at least once.
Looks like there's a new battleship besides the AA from where the Freedom took off. But why is the Freedom is taking off in this new battleship? It should take off in Archangel right?
New Justice! the design is a mixture of Aegis/Savior colors. Noticed also that it didnt have the signature remote backpack but instead they made the shield its remote weapon. Very cool to see it in action too. Leaks say the our boy Shinn will pilot this.
The animation is better than I thought. It's nice to see the animation with no stock footage especially on how the new Freedom moves.
Blonde guy(Orphee) - I guess he is the same blonde guy in the past trailers. What's with his smug look by the way? I think he is fascinated on our old gang especially to Kira or Lacus. But I do get the feeling he will take away Lacus from Kira.
Oh yeah we doing super sentai mechas now? The super sentais designs reminds me of the Mandalorian suit.
More on Blonde guy and the super sentai squad - Fukuda mentioned that they're gonna push Kira to his limits. Really curious how? Makes me think that all those kids have the same genetic make-up as Rau, Rey and Kira.
CE Gelgoog and Gyan ftw! Spinning Shield Blade!!!
Red Eye Kira again... I'm starting to lean on the fact he is not brainwashed but he is using a Wing Zero like system that may go out of control. Shame... him as antagonist is more interesting.
WTF why they didn't show the Impulse spec II in this trailer?
Also they didnt show Athrun piloting either.
New Cards!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With those, the new promotional card art is now complete
For some reason, 'Distance' by FictionJunction autoplays in my mind when I look at the promotional art card 😅
I still cant get over Athrun's harem 😅
Other thoughts:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Most prominent scene in the 3rd trailer for me is this. Kinda glad to see Kira leading his team with Shinn following him.
Really wonder why they went to space without a battleship? Where is the Archangel?
If we are all gonna look closely on Shinn's image, Looks like he is in a cockpit dome... same structure of Kira's cockpit in the new Freedom. Means he is the one piloting that Justice.
Kira looking cool with that unfazed look. Shinn looking so chill on his seat. Luna and Agnes focused on the mission.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On regards to the new Freedom and Justice. Yeah their designs are cool and they really hit the nail in it. But I cant really shake the feeling on the design... it is more like of a Build fighter mecha design. When I look at the SF and IJ designs I really feel it is designed for war while these units don't emit that kind of aura.
Also if the leaks are true then these new Freedom and Justice are a watered down version of the Strike Freedom and Infinite Justice. What I mean for watered down is that these new units uses battery power rather than nuclear power like the SF/IJ and also watered down on armaments. Which means there's a chance these new units will be destroyed early. Maybe that's why they are designed like a Build fighter mecha? But I gotta admit that Freedoms design is closer to the OG Freedom.
Tumblr media
EDIT: Regards on the new visual, there are things to point out here such as:
Freedom and Justice standing side by side and thinking that Shinn is the one who pilots the Justice makes it more awesome.
The setting, Mobile suit graveyard, plus the dawn really works as a visual with Archangel forces in the background.
Conclusion:
Compared to the other trailers, this trailer seems kinda hopeful, cheery in contrast to the killings and ruined place setting they shown. Maybe because it is a trailer for the Mechs. It is good though but it really left me wanting more.
Crossing fingers the next trailer will show characters with dialogue and give us some hint who/what are they fighting. Bonus also if they show new variant of new SF and IJ.

Why you should watch Gundam SEED Destiny
It’s been a little while but it’s time to cover the second half of the Cosmic Era Gundam shows with Destiny, once again the “HD Remaster” version though this time it doesn’t cut out the recap episodes so there seemed to be little point in it really, forced 16:9 aside, but you know… I like consistency! The original SEED anime followed the original Gundam series quite closely for a lot of its run and while not as blatant Destiny does also have several things in common with Zeta Gundam, mostly a new protagonist who a bit of a knob. Let’s take a look at the first 14 episodes!
Two years have passed since the original series and peace has sustained but just as Orb leader Cagalli and her bodyguard “Alex Dino” (actually previous series secondary protagonist Athrun) meet up with the head of the PLANTS (SEED’s version of Space Colonies) at their Earth-based military site the place is attacked by Earth Federation soldiers / cyber-Newtype-alikes (known as Extended in the C.E.) Stella, Auel and Sting, who take three prototype Gundam suits. Luckily for ZAFT (the PLANTS military) there’s a fourth Gundam and a newly minted soldier called Shinn Asuka takes control of the Impulse and fights them head-on. So classic “protagonist finds himself piloting a Gundam in the heat of battle and ends up the pilot for the rest of the series” story, though at least Shinn is actually a pilot beforehand! Anyway, Athrun takes control of a Zaku, (which is something odd about Destiny: ZAFT’s new suits are all Zeon suits from the original MSG series! It was to celebrate the original series’ anniversary, if memory serves. Still weird though…) and along with a new ship called the Minerva the three Earth pilots are driven back to their own ship, which is of course captained by a mysterious man in a mask (sigh, can’t wait to talk about THAT character’s backstory later…) I will quickly mention that the Impulse is a Gundam formed by three separate planes joining together, a classic image but I can’t help think how impractical that is during combat, especially seeing all the other mobile suits fly out already whole and head straight into combat! Click here to read more about Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED Destiny.
