Everyone Hate Warner Bros. Discovery
Oh my god, this company sucks. You know what this company has done?! Well, hear what i'm gonna tell you why the WarnerMedia And Discovery Merger Was One Of The Worst Mergers In The Media Industry Of The United States.
1. They removed and cancelled shows From HBO Max, like Aquaman: King of Atlantis, Close Enough, Elliott From Earth, The Fungies! Infinity Train, Mao Mao, Heroes of Pure Heart, Mighty Magiswords, OK K-O, Let's Be Heroes, Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures, Summer Camp Island, Tig n' Seek, Victor and Valentino, And Several Others. Like The What The Fuck! It Seems That Someone Doesn't Gives A Shit About Any Animation At All, Warner Bros Discovery Is Being So Not Fair To All Of Us! And all they care about is the stupid live action and reality shit. So Yeah, I Guess We Need A Marathon On Either Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Adult Swim, Or Discovery Family.
2. They cancelled Scoob! Holiday Haunt, Batgirl, And Other Movies That Warner Bros Is Planning To Make. What The Fuck! I Just Waited For Those Movies To Come, But This Pile Of Shit Has Came And Ruined It. Despite the fact that they have cancelled Batgirl Just Because They Don't want to get criticized.
3: The Creators That Are Making Shows For Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Adult Swim, HBO, And Several Others Have Been Fired Because Of That Shitty company that i'm talking about.
4: They replaced Boomerang with Cartoonito in Europe.
5: they are also merged HBO Max and Discovery Plus into Max, And removed some shows. Which Was Stupid.
6: They Have Shutted Down CNN Plus.
7: In 2024 it's been announced that NBC Universal will be merging with it. Are You Kidding Me?! That would be a questionable decision, As my big concern was that it would seriously damage the mass media industry in the United States. Why can't they separate both of the media companies. And Do you know what's worse?
THEY'VE SHUTTED DOWN CARTOON NETWORK STUDIOS HEADQUARTERS IN BURBANK CALIFORNIA IN AUGUST 1ST. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! GOD MOTHERFUCKING DAMMIT!!! this is complete bullshit 100%, thanks to that pile of shit! Cartoon Network Studios Has Moved To Warner Bros Animation Headquarters. But Good Thing That Cartoon Network Studios Is Alive. and yes, Discovery is completely killing Warner Bros, Cartoon Network, And DC Comics. It's Like A Living Shit With Their Actions. Whoever made this chaos should get fired some day. I Really Hope That Warner Bros Discovery Get Shutted Down For Good, And I Really Hope That WarnerMedia And Discovery Break Up Very Soon.

Since I got a few comments about this gifset I posted yesterday, I thought I’d share the true story about Javier Peña leaving his girlfriend at the altar. I’m using the read more break because it’s actually a longer story lmao.
In Season 1, Javi tells Steve that he used to be engaged but changed his mind on the day of the wedding. He left his girlfriend, and it’s later revealed that he knows it was wrong and feels sorry about it. Javi tells the story like this:
Javi: I was driving to the church. Was with my buddy, John. He was my best man. We were late. It was fucking blazing outside, 110 degrees. Whole bridal party was there sweating their balls off, I'm sure. And all of a sudden, I stopped the car.
Steve: Please don't tell me you left her at the altar.
Javi: I don't know if she actually made it to the altar.
Steve: Well, you saved her a lifetime of hell.
Javi: Yeah, she forgave me. Eventually. Married a stockbroker from Dallas.
Steve: Hm.
Javi: Randy... I think. Trust me, she's better off.
"There Will be A Future." Narcos, written by Dana Ledoux Miller, directed by Andrés Baiz, Gaumont International Television, 2015.
So far, so good. However, in the book Manhunters: How We Took Down Pablo Escobar, the real Javier Peña tells the story differently:
In fact, it was all because of a woman that I ended up at the DEA. I was all set to do the right thing and marry my girlfriend in Laredo back in 1982 when she told me she was pregnant. But on the day before our wedding when she called me and told me she had gotten her period, I packed my shit and left Laredo as fast as I could!
I clambered into my Chevy and took off at the crack of dawn like a fugitive, terrified that her brothers would come after me. I waited until I was nearly four hours out of town before I called her to break the news.
“You’re going to leave me?” she said, incredulous.
“Well actually, I already have,” I said.
She had manipulated me so well. She had even taken me to a clinic where a nurse told me she was pregnant.
After I left her waiting at the altar, I became persona non grata in Laredo, where her family was pretty well connected. My former fiancée’s friend was an administrator at Laredo Junior College, where I was still teaching in the criminal justice program. After the incident, he told me that I should resign and leave Laredo because I was no longer a good example for my students or the community as a whole.
I got the message and started to look for ways out.
Months later, I applied to the DEA.
Murphy, Steve, and Javier Peña. Manhunters. How We Took Down Pablo Escobar. London: Headline Publishing Group, 2019. p. 53f.
The show took a different path from real life events and gave Javi this kind of sad background story where he leaves his girlfriend at the altar but later regrets it. It’s also never mentioned if his girlfriend was pregnant or that she faked her pregnancy to get him to marry her. The story, as it’s told on the show, serves the narrative of Javi being kind of a womanizer. Of course, and this is also important, we only have Javier Peña’s word to tell us about what happened in real life, and often those one-sided accounts also aren’t 100% truthful.
In any case, I can really recommend the book because it’s full of little pieces of information like this and gives a bit more background about the real Steve Murphy and Javier Peña (e.g., the struggles Peña faced as a Latino man in the police service or how Murphy and his wife adopted children in Colombia). There is also another one, Killing Pablo by Mark Bowden, which I actually enjoyed more because it focuses on the whole story, from the history of the drug trade in Colombia to a very detailed account of the day Pablo Escobar was killed. (It also talks about Murphy having a doughnut and caffeine addiction and about Peña being a nerd with glasses).

the way that Bryan Fuller has an entire 7 season arc including a season 5 gay romance for Hannibal planned out and has been trying to get the show brought back for years and all the actors would be willing and excited to resume filming but they can’t because Gaumont International Television owns the characters and won’t agree to be involved

British Women in Animation
Tumblr media
Sarah Kennedy is doing a documentary on female animators. I am doing some research and finding it so interesting. Back in the day, women weren’t really valued. They weren’t even classed as artists, they were degraded and looked down upon. They rarely even got credited for the work they did. It appals me to think that this was acceptable.
In this blog I will research British female animators.
Tumblr media
Suzanah (Suzie) Clare Templeton (born 1967 in Hampshire, England) is an award-winning British animator. Her film Peter and the Wolf has won several awards, including the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in 2008.
Stanley (1999) is the winner of the 2001 Golden Sun Award, the 2000 Best College Student Animation Award of the Nashville Independent Film Festival, the 2000 Best Animation Award for the International Short Film Festival of Berlin, and many others.
Dog (2001) is the winner of the 2002 British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) in Short Animation and many others.
Peter and the Wolf (2006) is the winner of the 2008 Academy Award for Best Short Film, the 2006 British Animation Award for Best TV Special, the 2007 Pulcinella Ward for Best European Programme, the 2007 Grand Prix and Audience Award Annecy at the French Animation Festival, the 2007 Golden Rose for Performing Arts at the Rose D'or Festival in Switzerland, the 2007 Special Prize at the Ukraine Animated Film Festival, and the 2008 Special Jury Award of the Lucca Animation Festival in Italy.

Joy Batchelor (12 May 1914 – 14 May 1991) was an English animator, director, screenwriter, and producer. She married John Halas in 1940 and subsequently co-established Halas and Batchelor cartoons, whose best known production is the animated feature film Animal Farm (1954), which made her the first woman director of an animated feature since Lotte Reiniger. Together they created over 2000 shorts/films, and produced roughly 70 propaganda pieces during World War II for the British government. She helped co-write, write, animate, produce, and direct many of their productions.
One of her projects as an art director was Cinerama Holiday (1955). Joy directed and wrote Ruddigore (1967), a television-film adaptation of W.S. Gilbert's opera of the same name, which became the first opera to be adapted into an animated film. She later worked in television, directing series, including animated shows like The Jackson 5ive (1971). Batchelor died on 14 May 1991, just two days after her 77th birthday.
Tumblr media
Between 1975 and 1980, Sheila Graber created a selection of animated shorts which were shown worldwide. One animation, Mondrian, about the Dutch painter Piet Mondrian was screened at the Tate Gallery, Mondrian’s own house in the Netherlands, the Open University and British Broadcasting Corporation's children's television series Blue Peter.[2]
By 1975, Graber was working for Filmfair, and created the animation for Paddington Bear and Mr and Mrs Brown for the television series Paddington.[1] She also animated the 1983 BBC series Just So Stories, adapted from a collection of children's stories of the same name, written by Rudyard Kipling.[3]
In 1980, newly divorced, Sheila left her role as head of Creative Studies at a large comprehensive school to begin teaching animation classes in Tunisia and Caracas, and pursue a career as a full-time professional artist and animator.
I love the fact that Sheila became an animation teacher. That is amazing!
Tumblr media
Joanna Quinn was born in Birmingham, England in 1962 and grew up in North London. Quinn's first film Girls Night Out was completed in 1987 and won three awards at the Annecy Film Festival. Quinn has won over 90 international awards, including 2 Emmy awards, 4 Bafta awards and Jury prizes at all the major animation festivals. One of her films, Famous Fred (1997), received an Academy Award nomination. Quinn was awarded the Leonardo da Vinci International Art Award in 1996. In 2006 her film Dreams and Desires won Grand Prix at World Festival of Animated Film
Tumblr media
Alison de Vere (16 September 1927 – 2 January 2001), while married also known as Alison Weschke, was a British animator, known for her animated short films The Black Dog and Psyche and Eros. Born in Peshawar into a British military family, de Vere studied art in Brighton and at the Royal Academy. She worked as a background designer at Halas and Batchelor studio beginning in 1951, at a time when women were unheard of in creative leadership roles in British animation. Nonetheless she took the leadership of the animation unit of Guild Television Services in 1957. During the 1960s, she worked as a freelancer, but joined TVC in 1967 to work as design director on the Beatles film Yellow Submarine, in which she had a cameo.
Tumblr media
Jackie Cockle, born 1950 in Portsmouth, is a British stop frame animation specialist. She is the creator and creative producer of the pre-school animation Timmy Time, creative producer of Bob the Builder and Brambly Hedge, director of The Wind in the Willows and more. Cockle, a graduate of the Manchester College of Art and Design, has won 3 Bafta awards: one in the best animation category for Bob the Builder 30 minute special (2002) and two in the pre-school animation for Timmy Time (2010, 2013) - a production of the Bristol-based Aardman Animations.
Tumblr media
Eunice Macaulay (nee Eunice Bagley) (1923 – 2013) was a British-born Academy Award–winning animator whose credits range from animation to writing, directing, and producing. She shifted into animation when a Christmas card she had designed got her a job with Gaumont British Animation (later part of the Rank Organisation) in 1948. Starting out as a tracer, she went on to hold nearly every position in animation, including background artist, ink and paint supervisor, rendering supervisor, writer, animator, producer, and director.
Tumblr media
Dianne Jackson (July 28, 1941 – December 31, 1992) was an English animation director, best known for The Snowman, made in 1982 and subsequently repeated every Christmas on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom.
She had a long career as an animator, and her earliest credit was for The Beatles' Yellow Submarine in 1968. She is particularly noted for recreating the style of the original artists in her animations, for example of Raymond Briggs's picture book, The Snowman.
She also directed Granpa by John Burningham in 1989 and was due to direct Raymond Briggs' Father Christmas in 1991, having completed storyboarding for the film, although due to her illness this was directed by Dave Unwin. She also planned the first series of animated adaptations of the tales of Beatrix Potter as The World of Peter Rabbit and Friends. However, she died of cancer on New Year's Eve 1992 at the age of 51. The series episode "The Tailor of Gloucester" is dedicated to her memory
Tumblr media
Jodie Mack (born 1983 in London, England) is an English-born American experimental filmmaker and animator. She attended the University of Florida and earned her MFA in film, video, and new media at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and teaches at Dartmouth College. Mack's works have screened at the Viennale, the New York Film Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival, and the Locarno Festival. Mack is currently a 2017–2018 Radcliffe-Harvard Film Study Center Fellow/David and Roberta Logie Fellow. Mack primarily produces her films using a 16 millimeter Bolex camera. Mack stated in an interview that "[She] chose to work in film because the material renders color and texture in a way that resonates with a lot of [her] work”.
Many of Jodie Mack's films are stop motion animations that feature everyday fabrics and textiles or recycled materials like magazine clippings or newspaper scraps.
Tumblr media
Alison Snowden (born 4 April 1958) is an English animator, voice actress, producer, and screenwriter best known for Bob and Margaret alongside her Oscar-winning short Bob's Birthday which was also co-directed by her partner David Fine. Bob's Birthday serves as the pilot for the Alison Snowden and David Fine's animated TV show Bob and Margaret.

Hannibal Fan Art Fuels Season 4 Hopes
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
Horror darling Hannibal was originally planned by creator and showrunner Bryan Fuller to run for seven seasons, but was sadly canceled after only three near-perfect ones. Pretty much ever since finale “The Wrath of the Lamb” aired back in 2015, the passionate Hannibal fandom has been asking for a continuation of the drama following the dysfunctional love story between Hannibal Lecter and Will Graham, based on the books by Thomas Harris. Fuller hasn’t given up either. This week, some excellent Hannibal-inspired art chosen to hang in the U.S. Capitol building for a year as part of the annual Congressional Art Competition, has been making the rounds on Twitter, prompting Fuller to comment on the possibility of a Season 4.
The Cubist interpretation of Hannibal‘s Season 3 episode “Dolce”, which sees Will catching up to Hannibal in Florence, was created by New Jersey high school senior Kathleen Palmer, and is gorgeous (the U.S. Capitol should be so lucky to have this piece of art hanging in its hallowed halls). The Twitter rounds of the artwork eventually made it into Fuller’s newsfeed, and even prompted a follow-up question from a U.S. Congress person who is apparently also a Fannibal.
If I invite you to the Capitol to see the artwork, does that mean there will be a season 4?
— RepAndyKim (@RepAndyKimNJ) May 21, 2021
Andy Kim, a congressman from New Jersey’s Third District, tweeted at Fuller: “If I invite you to the Capitol to see the artwork, does that mean there will be a Season 4?” (Hannibal fans are everywhere.) Fuller, who is obviously on board with another season of the beloved show but would need a distribution deal to do so, told Kim “I HOPE SO!” A willingness to continue on with Hannibal has been Fuller’s consistent messaging, on Twitter and elsewhere, ever since Hannibal went off the air six years ago, and Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy are also on board.
No one has given up! I've made it clear I want to do it, the cast wants to do it and Martha wants to do it. We just need a network or a streaming service that wants to do it, too. I don't feel there's a clock on it or an expiration date for the idea. We just need someone to bite.
— Bryan Fuller (@BryanFuller) May 27, 2019
Interest in Hannibal peaked again last year when all three seasons of the show, which originally aired on NBC here in the U.S., dropped on Netflix. (The series’ time on Netflix is soon coming to an end.) But adapting the Harris book series has always been a complicated venture, and not for the faint of heart. While Gaumont International Television, which produced Hannibal, has the rights to the Hannibal, Hannibal Rising, and The Red Dragon novels, MGM has the rights to Silence of the Lambs, which means Fuller was unable to use any of the characters that originate in that book for his TV adaptation, including Clarice. If Fuller were to continue the Hannibal story in some format, he would like to try to get the rights to Silence of the Lambs too, as mentioned by series star Mads Mikkelsen told Bloody Disgusting back in 2019.
“I haven’t heard anything specific,” said Mikkelsen regarding the possibility of a Hannibal Season 4. “I know Bryan is still working on some ideas where we can find a new home for this. I also have a strong feeling that everybody who was involved in it would gladly pick up the glove again if that happens. I don’t know where they looked. That is above my paycheck, but I know they’ve been talking to different studios. I know that [Fuller] was working to get the rights to Silence of the Lambs so he could get in there and use some of those characters for his own universe. I have a hunch that might be where we’re going.”
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
Would you be interesting in a fourth season of Hannibal? Let us know in the comments below.
