This is not a criticism of people who make Kirby merch from memes!

But as someone who likes the entire franchise and it’s many characters other than Kirby, this is simply an observation I’ve made lately as a regular patron of artist alleys in the United States lol

#I don’t even see much Dedede or Meta Knight merch even #I’ve found one Bandana Dee charm in the #past year #maybe I’m going to the wrong conventions haha #but even the event I went to that was specifically kirby themed was maybe 50% edgy kirby memes #and 50% kirby alone on his warp star #I do not enjoy seeing Kirby with human body parts at all tho hahaha #maybe I can fill that market in my local artist events one day hehehe #I would just love to see one Magolor charm in the wild at a big convention in my state #or even one dedede or one dream team! #I haven’t even seen a meta knight yet! much to think about #anyway support your local artists no matter what the product they still work hard to make them!! #jojo rambles #Kirby series #art #kirbysona #tw blood #tw body horror #just in case #ask to tag #:)

HC12# Everyone has big egos in dreamland.

Before kirby's arrival everyone thought king Dedede was the most selfish self-loving jerk (and he kinda was) there could ever exist. Everyone looked at the things he owned and how all of them had either his signature (blue peace sing) or his face. Even his giant robots were built to look like him. It was so annoying for so many.

Then Kirby came in. While they weren't that bad one couldn't help but notice how most of their stuff had stars... And pink... Lot's of pink... So much that after a month nobody could see either of them without thinking of Kirby... And there was also the fact that everytime he sees something he thinks it's ugly he somehow changes it to look in his likeness...

And then there is Meta knight, who built a giant battleship and put their face on it, as well as naming their crew after themselves...

And we already have learned the lesson: Marx needs your attention or else he will set you, himself and everything on fire and it will be your fault so for the love of god. DON'T. IGNORE HIM.

Dark mk won't stop showing off. Yes we get it. You are so much better and much more powerful and cooler than Mk now could you please stop destroying random shit and reflecting stuff at bystanders? And Stop. Picking. FIGHTS. WE GET IT. STOP.

Daroach and the Squeak Squad will always make sure to make a fierce exit with poses and monologs and dramatic goodbyes and everything just so you won't forget them and since they are thieves I think it's safe to say they must have a lot of confidence in themselves...

As much as Taranza is truly a good person at heart, he can't help but to be a bit shallow... He takes very good care of his appearance, making sure everything is on check and no hair out of place at least once every ten minutes. Maybe it's a florarian thing...

Susie ALWAYS makes sure to remind you and everyone just how charming, beautiful, intelligent and perfect she is. It's the first thing she will mention when you say "hello" to her. No it does not matter if you already spoke to her in the morning, or the afternoon, or an hour ago. She will just- Go on.

Magolor has become the biggest offender. He literally sells plushies of himself, has a ton of merch with gears it has kinda become his brand™, sells candy in the shape of his hands, and basically makes a profit out of himself.

At this point, it has stopped being an annoyance and now it's more of a cultural thing. Hell, even some dreamlanders have picked up making brands and putting them on their stuff as a way of saying "this belongs to X". Some even came to idolize some of the star allies and thus started wanting to buy stuff with their brand in them. It's kind of been normalized to the point that while some will make fun of others for taking part on the trend they all know at heart...

...They are all doing it... And they are all hypocrites...

...and no, nor Adeleine or Elline nor Claycia or Vividria nor Paint Roller help in any way in the situation (unless by help you mean make more logos and commissions for those who want them because then yes oh they definitely did their part).
