🕰️ (Clock) - What would a Dreamy Gear version of them look like? What sort of accessories would they have? What kind of role do they play?

well i couldn't resist drawing it once i'd thought about it, so here she is! still pretty recognisable, but i think that large elements of her story and the suspicions surrounding her would be different, due to the fact that waddle dee/bandee is usually the one and only waddle dee. i think she'd still be found in a meteor crater at the edge of town by meta knight, but i think this time he'd bring her to bandee instead of president dedede, mostly due to the clear visual similarities. bandee would take her in instantly, and she'd follow him around the mechanic shop, learning to tinker and serving as his glorified assistant. learns to make really good apple tea instead of being a friendly chatterbox she would be shy and selectively mute, speaking out loud exclusively to bandee. though she still forms relationships with kirby and meta knight, i think that sadly in this world president dedede would frighten her, despite how highly bandee thinks of him 😭 at meta knight's suggestion, after he finds her squinting skyward on the roof at night a few too many times, she makes herself a pocket telescope for looking at stars and surveying the weather. she uses it to give bandee reports, which he discretely passes on to kirby and dedede for their races.

🩷 (Pink Heart) - If they were a Dream Friend, what would their moveset be like? How much HP do they have? Would they be a strong attacker, or would they take on more of a support role?

she would be a support role for sure, but i also can't resist also giving her some specialised abilities... > hp: small health bar, but practically immune to damage. will still die in insta-kill scenarios like lava or crush blocks > basic attack: if bandana waddle dee, meta knight, or king dedede are on the team she'll get a simple swing attack with a toy/training version of their weapon. if at least two are on the team, it's upgraded to an attack with a three-swing combo, and she'll alternate at random between which weapon she pulls > basic support: drawing magic from the environment around her or other allies or enemies present, she can give a wide variety of power effects. i previously said she'd give blustery and i stand by it, because even if there are no other elements around there's always air, but i think she could give the others too. she cannot attack with any of these herself > healing: under CPU control she'll focus on running ahead to pick up heal items, and bring them back. if everybody has full health, she'll actually store the item and bring it out later whenever anyone gets below half health; tdlx bandee style > meteor shower: this is a charge attack that starts with a 3 minute cooldown. after charging, she can use it by jumping in the air and pressing a multi-button combo, to avoid accidental activation. this is a full screen, crash-like attack with a shooting star visual, similar to team meteor. all on screen enemies defeated, and most bosses down to at least 1/3 health. > downed: unfortunately after using the charged attack she will drop her inventory, pass out, and need to be piggy backed for about 5 minutes if you want to keep her on the team (walking over to her will activate a 'piggy back' bar instead of the standard 'revive'). she cannot heal or give buffs during this time, but can be dropped by accident or when attacked, and can take damage that cannot be healed. if she makes it she wakes up at partial health, but returns to being invulnerable while conscious

(Angst warning, ESPECIALLY for Queen Somnia’s section)

Meladee: Father-Daughter Talk

I feel like I'm always talking about how close Mel is with Dedede. But what about her other dad? How does Meta Knight spend time with her?

Meta Knight is not just a father to Mel, but a mentor, just like he is to Kirby. He'll take her to all sorts of places around Dream Land every now and then to have some one-on-one time with her, usually early in the morning, when the two can catch the sunrise.

They'd sit for about an hour, maybe even two. They'd meditate, or Meta Knight would tell her stories about his past adventures (Note: Meladee wouldn't be born until during the events of Triple Deluxe while Dedede was kidnapped. I made it this way so that Meta Knight had a reason not to show up in the game, lol).

Once, they sat themselves down on top of Meta's favorite perching spot; on a cliff that stood a little high above their cozy little town.

When Meta Knight told her about how he teamed up with his crew to overthrow Dedede and take over Dream Land, Mel looked at him with the saddest puppy eyes.

She asked, "Why would you do that, Dad?"

"...Because back then, I didn't realize how much of a fool I was for trying to change something that didn't NEED any change," Meta told her. "Dream Land is perfect as it is, Meladee. If I would have been successful in my rampage..."

Here, Meta was holding back tears. "...our lives would be so much different... So much... worse..."

Mel would notice he was crying under the mask. She ALWAYS notices.

"It's ok, Dad..." she reassured him. "That was a long, long, long time ago. We're fine now. You don't have to worry about all that anymore..."

Mel leaned her head into her father and rested it there.

In response, Meta wrapped his wing around her like a blanket.

The two fell asleep shortly after.

Queen Somnia: Love Letters

If there's one holiday the Queen of the Cloud Kingdom adored the most, it was Valentine's Day.

Kracko had always noticed how... fluttery she got during the month of February. Humming to herself, spending extra time in her vanity room dolling herself up, baking sweets. Heck, her hair even started turning from light purple to light pink!

But one thing that stood out to Kracko the most was how Somnia always kept stationery near her bedside for the whole month.

Each night before going to sleep, the Queen would write short, sweet messages on little sheets of paper in her favorite glittery purple pen. She sealed each envelope she put the letters in with a heart sticker and a gentle kiss.

She’d then step out onto her balcony, form a small cloud, place the letter inside, and push the cloud outward into the night sky to travel to its destination: Ripple Star.

- ⭐️ - ⭐️ -

As Queen Ripple went about her daily activities, she’d always be happy to see a small cloud traveling towards her location, for that meant she had a new letter. After opening it and reading it, she’d swoon to herself. She’d read it once more, then again. Later on, she’d write one of her own in response, then assign her loyal fairy, Ribbon, the task of delivering it to the Cloud Kingdom.

Later that evening, Somnia would hear a polite tapping on her balcony door, opening it to come face to face with Ribbon, who handed the letter to the Queen with her heart full of pure happiness.

After exchanging goodbyes with the fairy, Somnia would swoon reading the letter she had received in return.

Her and Ripple would do this for the entirety of February, but it was only on the 14th when they would meet up in person.

…Except this tradition of theirs would soon be cut short.

- ⭐️ - ⭐️ -

Following the chandelier incident, Queen Ripple didn’t know what to do with herself the moment Valentines Day came about. It was supposed to be their special day, and they couldn’t even spend it together anymore.

Instead, Ripple spent that day locked in her bedroom, writing and writing and writing letters. She sobbed hard, letting all her tears fall onto the paper as she poured her feelings into each stroke of her pen.

I love you, I miss you, I love you, I miss you…

She wrote it over and over and over on each slip of paper, sealed each one in an envelope, and stuck them in a bouquet of Somnia’s favorite flowers.

At night, Ripple made her way to the roof of her castle and sat down with the flower bouquet, cradling it gently in her arms. She gazed up at the twinkling stars above her, reminded of that special woman whom she would hold in her heart always…

…and forever.

it's the 28th anniversary of Kirby Super Star's release in Japan, so it's technically Marx and Bandee's birthday!

I probably won't have time to draw anything today, so I wanted to write down some headcanons to celebrate Marx's special day instead, because I've been thinking about him a lot more lately. I'll do something for Bandee some other time.

pranks are done purely for his own amusement and no other goal. other ex-villains might see that as boringly unambitious, but marx really and truly does NOT care what anyone thinks about him. He's just here for a good time.

freakishly good at math. he doesn't even need a calculator or anything. not that he could even really use a calculator, even if he DID have one, on account of the lack of hands.

has issues sleeping. for how energetic and bouncy he is, you'd think he got a restful sleep every night! but, in reality, he has to really tire himself out to even have a chance at getting to sleep. as in, ready-to-collapse tired. he also happens to be a very light sleeper, so on the off chance he actually gets some shut-eye, it's frustratingly common that he gets woken up by someone moving around, even if they're trying not to wake him. disturbing his slumber is sure to put you on the tippy top of his next-to-prank list. "revenge" pranks are some of his most malicious, so it's best to give him a wide berth if you see him resting.

has quite the appetite, but never seems to grow any bigger. he's not the sit-down-and-savor-awhile type of eater, either; he can be just as frantic about eating as Kirby or Dedede! He could never pack in as much as either of those gluttons in one sitting, though.

his food preference is for fresh fruits and floral-flavoured pastries. He actually doesn't eat much in the way of meat, but he'll happily crash your barbecue anyway.

DOES NOT FORGET ANYTHING. truly, he has the memory of an elephant. Just not the wisdom of one.

a surprisingly good listener. will actually sit still and take the time to hear out all your woes. he may even give you some advice! just don't expect him to pull any punches or sugar-coat anything. however, before you tell him your secrets, there is a very good chance that he will bring whatever info you confide in him up again just to poke fun at you, so be very careful with what you're willing to share.

if he had the patience (and dexterity) for strategic board games like chess or checkers, he'd actually be very good at them. Less so at card games.

the most frequent targets of his antics are Dedede, Susie, Taranza, and Magolor; that said, he's certainly not above pranking the other denizens of Dream land when he can think of something to get under their skin. When he decides to team up for a prank, he gravitates toward Magolor and Kirby as his partners in crime.

he and Taranza do NOT get along. Taranza considers Marx a deeply disrespectful, obnoxious, unfunny clown, and an overall complete waste of space within the star allies. Marx doesn't consider Taranza at all.

Marx finds Gooey very boring to interact with, since he never seems to get riled up over anything. Gooey still quite enjoys tagging along with Marx, though! Gooey finds him to be a very fun, funny clown.

Doesn't really have a proper place to call home, so places friendly to him will save a spot for him should he decide to pop by. These places include Castle Dedede, Kirby's House, and the Lor Starcutter, when Magolor's not off using it to sail the galaxy. On warm nights, Marx likes to rest outside and look up at the stars.

How would the gang (CG + the other Hollow Head Brothers + Royal Trio [King, Purple and Gold]) react to Kirby and Second's friendship + maybe the rest of the Star Allies? And if they met the Star Allies, who would they befriend?

Just curious because the Kirby brairot hit me like a Truck™ (if you know the ref I'm gonna give ya cookies)

Brainrot hurting you harder than Kirby hit Fecto. Anyway—

I’m assuming based on the “royal trio” you mean my good start au so I’m gonna be basing off of that first. In my good start au: first thing happening is a fam v fam spar. Dream Team vs the Hollow Sibs. There is NO way Chosen and Dark are seeing how strong they are together and letting them leave without a fight. I also think Firstborn would enjoy Bandana Dee’s company a lot, since they both lack powers and have to rely on tools and weapons.

And for the Star Allies… Daroach and Dark Lord easy. Dark Lord doesn’t understand the style thing, but they would be fun partners in crime. Susie would fucking hate the Dark Lord despite his knowledge in technology, purely because of his habit of making malware and viruses for fun even if they are harmless. Chosen One would like King Dedede and Meta Knight, both are extremely strong and fun to fight with.

Second would get along with most characters I feel, but especially Adeleine. He’d take her to the desktop so fast and show her Adobe Animate. They’d spend hours drawing together with Kirby scribbling in the corner.

I feel like a lot of the Star Allies would be surprised about how nonchalant Red is about possession, especially when finding out that the dude who possessed him twice is his teacher now. Green would gravitate towards Magolor, they would toss around various concepts and plans for mega builds, Yellow would talk code and technology would Susie and would have so much fun introducing her to the staff and command blocks. Red would adore Elfilin and the animal friends. And Blue would introduce nether wart to Kirby and have SO much fun cooking for him

As for Second and Kirby’s friendship, I feel like nobody would be surprised bkhfkdhdkd

I also just want to add: Susie and canon victim would be a crazy duo

my interpretation of game dream team is basically them being close best friends but said they're not best friends and just calls the others close friends/acquintances or etc etc (exception of Kirby, he addressed them as best friends. No, none of them bothered to correct him) when they're actually like the closest friends that they see each other as family/close siblings

Like, they can have the best teamwork dynamic out of all teams in Star Allies. Without even saying anything, just a glance is enough to do a good teamwork attack. Meta Knight going for arial slam and Bandana poke their enemy with his spear and threw it towards Dedede, who'll slam them to Kirby which Kirby ends up be the one to decide on how to end their torture.

Them together is a force to be reckon with. They are the core star allies, they're the ones who formed the 'organisation'. They're the original group in Dreamland.

When one is down, the other fought their way tooth and nail to get to the fallen one and help them up. When one bled, the other bled too. When one rage, the other followed their rage.

They came from different backgrounds but their fates were intertwined from the very start. Even with their differences of view or actions that will shake the balance between peace and chaos, they continued to fight for their home and their loved ones.

And yet, they're the idiots when it comes to one another. Separately, they're very much an idol, a role model for those who admired them. But when they're together, that cool look just disappeared.

Whether it range from Meta Knight and Dedede constantly argued until they settled their arguements with a physical fight (one loses, the winner wins the arguement), or to them being the worst at the most simple mission(stealing is legal in dreamland but not on another planet...); it was bound to end up in chaos.

Bandana who asked the other three if they wanted a snack, which they all politely declined his offer to them being full or busy or on a diet. And yet when he opened that snack, all three pair of eyes just looked at him with their hands outstretched. Bandana was not happy.

Meta Knight and Kirby who have chaos flows in their blood, cannot be in the same room for too long or the room will be destroyed or the world will be destroyed. No 'and' or other possibilities. It's always those two.

So yes, while the four do end up be the light of hope for Popstar and the universe, they're also the ones who will end up make the situation worst due to their chaos nature. (Not really a permanent thing, they always will fix it in the end)

thought exercise at how they would approach a movie based on kirby series with similar level of faithfulness to illumination mario movie

Acts as an origin story, combination of Dream Land 1, Kirby's Adventure and Kirby Super Star

Only first few minutes really have anything to do with Dream Land 1's plot. It really only here to setup Kirby and Dedede (probably Bandee too) as characters

Main crux of the plot revolves around Marx who asks newfound hero Kirby to help him gather sparkling stars on Planet Popstar in order to help him grant a wish from Galactic Nova, which would be to rebuild Fountain of Dreams that mysteriously stopped working

Dedede serves as comedic secondary antagonist for majority of the movie, wanting to collect sparkling stars to get people to love and respect him

Surprise, surprise, Marx is, in fact, evil

Meta Knight knows that, which is why he likewise will act as an obstacle on their journey, but much more serious in comparison to Dedede

When epic adventures in Dream Land in gathering sparkling stars, which involve meeting some iconic bosses like Whispy Woods and Kracko come to the end, Marx reveals his true ambitions

He wants to repair Fountain of Dreams… Because by doing so it will unseal Nightmare, his master

Kirby is flabbergasted and loses any will to go on. He thinks that he is too much of a fool to actually be able to help anybody. He's scared.

This is the crucial moment for Dedede's character arc. Over the course of the movie his funny shenanigans will eventually lead him to learn how to get love and respect of others naturally, i.e by being a good and caring person. He's the one who comes to cheer up Kirby and motivate him to stop Marx and Nightmare

Kirby, Dedede, Meta Knight all team up together to fight them in an epic climax. Everything goes well until Nightmare unleashes scary attack that leaves everyone vulnerable and defenseless. Even Marx

Marx makes a choice and yells that Nightmare's true weakness is the power of star rod that powers the fountain of dreams. Bandana Dee hears it and quickly gets it and tosses it to Kirby, effectively saving the day at the very last moment

After all set and done, Marx vanishes, leaving his fate ambiguous (he's alive dw about it, he's too marketable to kill off forever)

Not only Kirby, but Dedede, Bandana Dee and Meta Knight become recognized as heroes and protectors of Dream Land. Film ends on a happy feast with almost all characters that showed up through out the movie

just because you are the beloved meta knight moot and i'm really sleepy i'm going to rant about metadad for a little while because it's hard to find people who think metadad can kind of be a double edged sword (haha sword pun). or just care about this in general.

imo metadad is really good and i like it. i think it's a fun concept to toy with and there's some evidence to back it up (ie: face reveal, that really cute itsudemo kirby book, sakurai and ohmoto's comments about his relationship with kirby).

here's the thing that really gets to me though. metadad falls into "soft father figure in a nuclear family unit" so so so so so much. which is so weird, because the dream team isn't a soft nuclear family at all! these people all have very similar skill + competence levels, and they're constantly physically fighting each other. this is like, a constant rivalry thing. these are people that deeply care about each other but aren't constantly babying each other.

like, metadad. i said there was evidence, and there is. and it's a cute concept! i like the idea of mk seeing kirby as a son! i like the idea that they can be soft and tender and loving with each other! but meta knight is like, notoriously irresponsible, and kirby can handle himself on his own. he doesn't need to be a responsible dad type, nor does he need to handle all of kirby's problems. this carries over to animeverse, even. it just feels like we're skipping the whole "rivarly" and "violence" and "similar power level" to have the cutesy dad stuff exclusively. maybe. maybe i can see it in animeverse. but it's circumstantial. it's really circumstantial. yeah. i should be writing.

yes yes yes. these four go through a ton together and boiling their dynamic down to something so strictly familiar feels…demeaning.

i’ve mentioned before that i sprinkle a bit of metadad into my work. it’s fun, like you say, and it makes sense with how they support each other and are always trying to help the other improve. the dream team works together in a way that is easy to read as a family. but, mostly i do it in a mentor-student way more so than father-son. i’ve grown fond of the ‘mk raised sailor dee’ headcanon lately, and even then he isn’t really a father type. he’s still more a mentor and a friend than anything else.

mk gets softened a lot. like, more than he would realistically be. i love getting to see him lower his guard and be vulnerable for once, hell one look at any of my knights-related work is enough to know that, but he has a limit. he’s still a powerful warrior with years of experiences weighing on him. we don’t know much about his history in the game-verse, but there’s probably something hidden away in the memory vault. he’s mature in a way many kirby characters aren’t.

and that’s not to say someone like kirby himself isn’t mature. he is, in his own way. he’s younger, is all, but he’s not a baby. he’s been through his own struggles and has learned from them. he’s grown and changed since dreamland 1 and adventure, and that’s a conversation for a different night with how much i have to say about it. even in the anime i feel like the descriptor of “he cannot speak, he can hardly think” is much too harsh (and i should point out, meta knight is the one who says this! he’s war-hardened and difficult to impress, and over the course of the show he grows to understand that just because kirby is young doesn’t mean he can’t conquer challenges the knight may see as impossible).

sometimes their actions can be read as friends, sometimes as rivals, sometimes as father-son. they are multi-layered, complex characters with an incredibly strong bond. there is so much more to these two, and dedede and bandee as well, than “soft happy family living domestically in dreamland.” domestic isn’t even in their vocabulary. they just are, and they’re just doing whatever they want, because that’s what you do when you have people you trust to such a degree. they’re whatever they are in the moment and it’s great. such a developed dynamic should be explored, not ignored. these four have limitless potential in the ways that they interact.

compare adventure and super star to robobot and triple deluxe, to forgotten land, to return to dreamland and star allies. you can tell just how much love has been poured into these characters, and how much love they have for each other. they go to hell and back and they always do it as a team.

King Dedede and Gooey dynamic interpretation

Ooooh... another dynamic post between two Kirby characters? Yes! It turns out that I actually have a lot of thoughts on how these two characters, enough to where I can create this entire post about it!

At the start, Dedede felt uncomfortable when around Gooey. The reason why Gooey initially made him feel unnerved was because of his PTSD from being a victim of dark matter possession.

It was right around the ending of Dream Land 3 when Dedede first met Gooey, at the same time he first met Nago, ChuChu and Pitch. He was informed by the animal friends that Gooey originated from dark matter, which immediately made him nervous around the little blob.

For a while, Dedede kept his distance from Gooey, as he was afraid that touching the little guy could get him possessed again. Kirby and the animal friends told him many times that's not going to happen and there's nothing to worry about from Gooey. He was able to infer that they were right, but it was perhaps that he generally just didn't want to deal with anything that came from dark matter. That's how bad his PTSD from dark matter possessions was at the time.

It didn't exactly help that Dedede got possessed by dark matter yet again after meeting Gooey, during the events of Kirby 64, which marks his third and final time of experiencing a dark matter possession. Gooey of course had absolutely nothing to do with that situation, though, as he wasn't near Dedede's castle at the time.

Kirby and the animal friends have needed to help Dedede get over his fear of Gooey. Rick, Kine and Coo in particular have been acting like Gooey's dads, so they were the ones that helped Dedede the most in getting to know Gooey more and understand more and more that the little guy's connection to dark matter is no big deal when he's nothing like them, as Gooey means absolutely no harm to anyone.

It took several years for Dedede to stop being nervous around Gooey. He also wasn't the only one who felt uncomfortable around the little blob after being a dark matter possession victim, as Adeleine has largely been on the same boat since she was possessed by dark matter twice. However, once enough time has passed, both Dedede and Adeleine have eventually gotten over their unnerved feelings around Gooey, since their trauma of being dark matter victims started to heal and they've been around the little blue blob long enough to get used to him. They've become friends with him, now!

It was a few years after the events of Kirby 64 when Dedede no longer felt uncomfortable around Gooey, and shortly before the events of RTDL when he started to like the little blob a lot. That was when he started becoming endeared to how silly and goofy-looking Gooey was, to the point he started messing around with him.

Gooey, at first, didn't understand why Dedede (and Adeleine) was afraid of him at the start. For the first several years of his life, he was dumb and absent-minded, although he did slowly become more intellectual as time went on. As he started to become a bit more knowledgeable, he eventually came to understand why the monarch was unsure of him at first when he thought about his connection to his antagonistic kin. This made Gooey feel rather bad for Dedede and chose to be extra nice to him to make it clear that he means no harm, and he became very happy when Dedede started warming up to him.

Shortly before Star Allies, Gooey grew on Dedede enough to the point he now adores the little blob and will protect him. Dedede enjoys patting Gooey on the head and making funny faces with him. He now treats Gooey like he's pretty much one of his waddle dees.

During the events of Star Allies, Gooey even participated in the team that helped free Dedede from the possession of the Jamba heart. That did also help strengthen the friendship between these two!

Dedede now helps other people warm up to Gooey when they also get unnerved by him at first. Taranza is an example of this, as he found Gooey to be weird at first until Dedede helped to convince him that Gooey is a good boy that is very much worth befriending.

Nowadays, Dedede welcomes Gooey to visit his castle any time he wants. He even lets the little blob sleep inside the castle sometimes. Gooey has multiple different places that he sleeps at, including inside Kirby's house and in the forests of Dream Land with the animal friends. Dedede's castle adds another place for him to sleep at.

Dedede even sometimes playfully calls Gooey nicknames like 'blue gumball' or 'little rascal' (he also calls Kirby that lol) to further show how much he's grown to love the little blue blob. He's willing to act like a very fun uncle to Gooey, and he of course appreciates that.

Gooey also experiences Dedede's big tight comfy bear hugs. Even though Gooey may not have the best texture for a hug, that doesn't matter for Dedede since he's wearing soft comfy clothes, which also make his hugs feel all the more comforting for good little Gooey.

There's become a point where Dedede even starts to project his feelings of Gooey onto other people. He sees and treats Gooey like a precious boy, and he believes everyone else should also see and treat Gooey like a precious boy, and anyone that doesn't is being a dummy.

So, yeah... that basically wraps up my dynamic for these two guys! Dedede was initially wary of Gooey because of trauma from being a dark matter victim, but then he warmed up to Gooey and grew to adore the little guy a lot! Gooey really is a lovable little thing, isn't he? He's not that much different from Kirby in that regard. Gooey can and will grow on you as far as other characters in the Kirby cast are concerned, and King Dedede is the biggest example of that.

I see a lot of people talk about a Kirby RPG concept and as someone who loves RPGs and has replayed one single RPG over 60 times, I wanna give my own thoughts on how I would go about it

Just a teeny tiny little read more here because I know I’m gonna ramble. So y’know. It’s gonna be long

Ok so I would have it focus on not the main characters. Kirby isn’t even there. It’s a spin off, he doesn’t really have to be. Kirby is napping through some big giant threat, Bandana Dee is out training somewhere, Meta Knight is fixing the Halberd, and Dedede is just totally oblivious. So instead, characters that aren’t the main four have to take up the quest

Biasedly I’d put Adeleine there as the main protagonist, but also, human girl. She’s the only human. I feel like that just works well as an RPG’s main character. Also she 100% deserves a game of her own, so

She sees this scary evil thing, realizes nobody else is gonna do anything about it, grabs a sword (that isn’t possessed or anything because she’s actually aware of what Dark Matter is [unlike a certain someone]), and then goes around trying to find anyone else who can help her

She doesn’t use the sword though she just. Wanted to hold a sword. And smack some people with it and go “we need to go on a quest” and then she throws it away in favor of her paintbrush

I feel like this could actually work just having the members of the Wave Two Dream Friends. Out of all of them, those four (yeah I’m counting Ribbon separately) are the most ragtag misfits. None of them really work together well, so this could be a way to actually explore their dynamics, because 0, 1, and 3 are all pretty explanatory. 0 is the main team, 1 are just silly guys, and 3… yeah everyone knows how those three fit together

So Adeleine as the leader, Ribbon who gets to be separate because she deserves to be her own character and also RPGs are better with four characters in my opinion (totally not bias from the one I’ve played over 60 times), Daroach, and Dark Meta Knight. Who are apparently the only people around to stop some… thing

Who or what would the villain be? What are they trying to stop?

My brain is telling me Dark Matter, since it’s one of the biggest overarching things in the series, and could totally have just seeped into this spin off too. But also… that’s lame

I think it’d be an entirely new, random villain because pretty much all the spin offs do that. Also a lot of spin offs are art themed for whatever reason so now Adeleine being the main protagonist makes sense

Yeah I’m not sure what the force of evil would be

But anyway, there’s my thoughts on what a hypothetical Kirby RPG could be. Extreme amounts of favorite character bias included

random idea what characters do you think the team would main in smash bros

Scout:

I feel like he’s the kind of guy who has like 4,000 hours in smash, knows all of the terminology, and still gets his ass whooped by a newbie. in other words, absolute tryhard. refuses to play on any ruleset other than 3 stock 7 minutes OMEGA stage (that kind of bitch) but he usually ends up playing with the rest of the team on their horrible rulesets anyway because he’s desperate for someone to play with

that said, I could very easily see him either maining someone easy and stupid like Meta Knight (and he knows the combos and the tech but that doesn’t stop him from literally only using side B and Dair ever), or someone harder and stupid like Ness and he tries to do the combos but his fingers don’t bend that way.

either way he always loses.

he commentates his own gameplay way too loudly with all of the awesome techniques he’s using and he’s not actually doing any of them he’s just making shit up to sound cooler (he does not sound cooler)

favorite stage is any omega stage. not even battlefield. OMEGA. it’s really disappointing.

Soldier:

CAPTAIN FALCON. who the hell else. do I even need to elaborate

spends the entire game on one side of the stage falcon punching and hoping someone gets caught in the crossfire. surprisingly effective at KO’ing Scout

not sure about the favorite stage. I’m not sure he can even see the screen. he thinks Umbra Clocktower is cool on concept, though, because it looks like a piece of the Big Ben is hurtling through the sky like someone blew it up and, well, you know how he feels about England.

Pyro:

King Dedede. Pastel alt. Actually pretty good, but if the team plays with items on (which is almost always unless Scout picks the ruleset) they’re usually single-handedly focused on grabbing items and using them since they’re fun to play with.

favorite stage is Magicant. they like the bird guy.

Demo:

he thought Bayonetta looked cool.

that’s it.

he can hold his own. he’s competent. he knows how to recover with her and everything. for some reason every time he spikes someone with down smash (which is a lot because everybody he’s playing against isn’t really that sure how to play the game) he yells “THE BOOOOOOT” really loud and starts scream-laughing and it’s endearing about twice and then is just kind of annoying

the drunker he is the better he is at the game. it’s some unwritten law of Demo

favorite stage is Jungle Japes. he likes pushing people into the river underneath it’s really funny

Heavy:

doesn’t know any of the characters and is not remotely consistent in his choice. he usually picks heavyweights because he likes… the weight. of the character and the attacks. I think he’s especially fond of goofy ones like Incineroar and King K. Rool though because they’re funny to him

if he accidentally chooses a character like K. Rool, he doesn’t really bother with projectiles. honestly in the end of it he probably just spams dash and smash attacks and isn’t sure how to jump and somehow this strategy works a lot. I don’t think he ever uses specials. all that is there to him is the left stick and the A button.

his favorite stage is Gaur Plain. absolute hell to navigate with most heavyweights but he doesn’t care. he thinks it’s pretty

Engineer:

D K. DONKEY KONG. D K. DONKEY KONG IS H

too much dad energy to not play DK. like, I was considering putting in Pac-Man or some character you’d need his IQ to play properly but… c’mon. he plays DK. just look at him.

unlike Scout, knows the terms and techs and stuff and actually uses them. could wipe anyone’s ass single-handedly, but he usually wins once or twice at the start of any session and then mysteriously gets way worse at the game (he’s letting everybody else win:))

one time Demo accused him of holding back though and that was not a fun night for anyone except Engy. he’s out there pulling shit off no pro’s ever dreamed of with DK. his brain’s forty steps ahead at all times. if he put his mind to it he could be one of the best players in the world but to be frank a lil’ video game’s not really at the forefront of his mind. maybe later.

favorite stage is… also Jungle Japes, for the exact same reason as Demo

Medic:

absolute force of chaos. picks a character at random and then proceeds to button-mash into the most dogshit strategy ever conceived. wins a surprising amount. is notable for taking the only win anyone’s ever gotten in a 1v1 against Engy, somehow taking the title with Inkling and a lot of blatant roller spam.

you know what they say: can’t read someone who isn’t thinking.

(Engy was doing slightly worse than usual and decided to let him win, for the record, but that’s between us.)

favorite stage is 75m because he heard Scout complaining about it a few times and wants to watch him suffer.

Sniper:

he thinks King K. Rool is cute.

perfectly content to stand on one side of the stage and press the B button until he inevitably gets knocked off, forgets how to recover, and dies. one of the most boring smash players you will ever watch. sometimes he gets fed up and goes oouygghhgh time to pull out the big guy they’ll all regret this and then he plays Kirby and spams up B until someone figures out how to jump and hit him off the stage and he dies again. to be honest it’s a little upsetting.

he likes omega stages because they’re flat and projectiles travel over them easier. it’s slightly less upsetting than why Scout picks omega stages, but barely.

Spy:

refuses to play smash. at all. he will NOT entertain your childish games, thank you very much.

(sometimes Scout gets him to play late at night when everyone else is asleep or slowly rotting away in their workshop/laboratory. he plays Sheik, a combo-heavy character that “requires skill”. he’s not good at it, but Scout isn’t either. Scout still takes most of the games. Spy doesn’t mind it, but keep that between us.)

why would he have a favorite stage? he wouldn’t touch that filth.

Kirby Things I Plan to Draw at Some Point

Making a list of things I want to draw and plan to draw at some point once I have more time just so I can keep track of all of it and get people’s thoughts on it/see if anyone is interested in it. Here are all of the ideas I have under the cut.

- Susie redemption arc comic

I definitely want to draw this after I finish up Knightfall in Dream Land and I’ve started doing sketches to plan it out. The goal of this comic will be to redeem Susie and also set up a friendship/eventual romance between her and Taranza since I ship them. After the events of Planet Robobot, Bandana Dee discovers that Susie is still on Popstar and informs Dedede, who sends Kirby to stop her from causing harm to the planet again. But after finding Susie and seeing that she no longer has the resources to mechanize anything or anyone Kirby befriends her and tries to introduce her to his other friends.

They’re understandably wary of her given what she’s done to their world and what she’s done to Meta Knight, so Kirby gets the not so bright idea to try and get Susie to apologize to Meta Knight and promise not to mechanize anyone else so that his other friends will feel more relaxed around her. This goes about as well as you’d expect, Meta Knight and his crew are all still angry at her (and Susie doesn’t think that she did anything wrong at this point and doesn’t see a need to apologize) so Kirby comes up with another idea. He thinks that if Susie experiences something similar to what she put Meta Knight through then she’ll know what it feels like and will understand why he’s upset. This is where Taranza comes in.

They all go to Floralia and Kirby asks Taranza to use his puppeteering magic to possess Susie, Taranza and Susie both agree to this but Susie doesn’t find the experience of being puppeted to be all that distressing. Meta Knight is tired of her being on Popstar at this point and Susie wants to return to her home planet, so Meta decides that he and his crew will personally take her back to her home world on the Halberd to get her off of the planet as quickly as possible so she won’t harm anybody else. Dedede, Bandee, Kirby, and Taranza come along (as extra muscle in case Susie tries anything on the ship) and they set off for Susie’s home planet.

- Daroach backstory comic

An associate of one of Daroach’s old flames shows up asking Daroach for a favor. Daroach’s ex is the leader of a rival gang, and Daroach hasn’t seen her since she abruptly broke up with him many years ago when they were both young adults. I know some people like to give Kirby characters specific numerical ages, but my headcanon is that Kirby characters don’t age like humans do/different species age differently/real life years between the games releasing doesn’t necessarily equate to years passing for the characters (just look at Adeleine, she’s still a child in Star Allies even though that game was released almost two decades after Crystal Shards lmao) so I don’t like to assign characters specific numerical ages, but I do headcanon them to be in specific age ranges (like child, teen, young adult, older adult, etc.). At the time he and his ex split up Daroach and his ex are both really young adults, probably the equivalent to an 18 or 19 year old, and Daroach in the present during the events of the games is quite a bit older, probably the equivalent of being in his mid 30s. Anyways, the associate wants to bring Daroach to his ex so that he and his ex can discuss some very important matters/talk about some things that were left unresolved when they broke up.

- Short comic explaining what Taranza and Dedede were doing before they went to help Kirby defeat Sectonia

This would be a fairly short comic explaining how Taranza ended up teaming up with Dedede to help Kirby at the end of Triple Deluxe. I wanted to give my take on what he was up to after Sectonia blasted him away and how he decided to switch sides and help Kirby in the end. It’ll also explain how he becomes the king of Floralia since in my AU of things he becomes the king after Sectonia’s death and the People of the Sky serve as royal advisors/an advisory council to assist him.

- Comic explaining how Dedede and Meta Knight ended up as a couple

I ship Dedede and Meta Knight and they’re married in my AU, but this would be a comic explaining how they went from being good friends to growing apart for a while to reconciling and dating. The start of this comic will be set right after the Revenge of Meta Knight subgame from Kirby Super Star/Ultra. Dedede is furious at Meta Knight and plans to banish him and his crew from Dream Land until Kirby intervenes and demands that Dedede should let them stay, since Kirby knows that Meta Knight isn’t a bad guy even though he did a bad thing and Dedede owes Kirby a favor after all of the times Kirby has saved him in the past. Dedede agrees not to banish the knights but his friendship with Meta Knight appears to be over. The two of them end up becoming distant with each other, and during this period of time they only see each other when they’re both spending time with Kirby and end up going off on their own solo adventures (explaining why Meta Knight isn’t in Dream Land 3 or Kirby 64 and why Dedede isn’t in Amazing Mirror) until the events of Squeak Squad. After Kirby beats up Dedede and Daroach steals the chest containing Dark Nebula, Dedede finally decides to call up Meta Knight so they can figure out what to do about it (I’m going with the headcanon that the two of them fought and sealed away Dark Nebula before meeting Kirby so that’s why Dedede has the chest that contains Dark Nebula and why Meta Knight knows about it). They have a heart to heart talk with each other, clarify some misunderstandings, and reconcile and admit their feelings for one another.

- Short comic about Taranza and Susie helping each other to grieve their lost loved ones

This will be a short comic centered around Taranza, Susie, and an OC of mine who is Taranza’s mother. This will be set after Susie is redeemed. Susie and Taranza have become close friends after her redemption, and she goes to visit him in Floralia regularly. One day when she visits Taranza and his mom are about to go visit Taranza’s father’s grave since it’s the anniversary of his passing (in my AU Taranza also has a dead dad like Susie but his dad died when he was a kid so he’s had more time to process it/grieve even though it’s still painful). Susie offers to go with them to support Taranza even though it’s hard for her since she’s still struggling with the loss of her father, so the three of them visit the grave and leave some flowers. Taranza is grateful that she went with them and gets the idea to help Susie set up a little memorial for her father so she has a place to visit/leave flowers for him since he doesn’t have a grave/there’s nothing left of him. I thought it would be sweet to depict the two of them helping each other through the grief of losing a loved one. Taranza is still grieving over Sectonia too and Susie also helps him work through that but I thought I’d also give him a dead dad so the two of them could relate to each other over losing a parent (and also to create a parallel between Taranza and my OC who’s his mom by having them both lose someone they were in love with in a very tragic way).

- Comic explaining how Taranza and Susie start dating

This will be set soon after Star Allies, so the mage sisters and Hyness have been redeemed and join the cast. Susie and Taranza’s friendship has grown even stronger, and all of their other friends get the impression that their feelings for each other go beyond friendship… Dedede and Meta Knight decide to intervene and act as the “dad friends” that give their younger friends a little nudge to confess their feelings to each other. In my AU Dedede and Taranza become good friends after Triple Deluxe and Meta and Susie become good friends after Susie is redeemed and apologizes for what she did to him, so I thought it’d be nice to have Dedede and Meta give Taranza and Susie some guidance.

- Comic explaining how Dedede and Meta Knight got engaged/showing their wedding

I’ve established that they’re a couple in my AU but I haven’t actually explained how they proposed to each other or what their wedding was like, so this comic would show that. I could see both of them proposing to each other instead of only one of them proposing lmao… and instead of wearing engagement rings or wedding rings I think I’d have both of them wear bracelets instead. They’d wear their engagement bracelets on one wrist and their wedding bracelets on the other, my explanation for why we don’t see their bracelets in the games is because they’re hidden under their gloves/mittens most of the time lmao…

Is all of this stuff that you guys would be interested in seeing? I would really like to draw all of this at some point but if I get around to it it’s likely not going to be for a while since I’m pretty busy with school/work things. But I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts on the ideas I have and any suggestions for other stuff to draw! My ask box and my DMs are always open, I love hearing from everybody!

Another Kirby hc of mine: Sailor Dee

Before the events of Revenge of Meta Knight, Sailor Dee originally worked under King Dedede amongst the other Waddle Dees + Bandee.

Her life was fine until she had eventually grown sick of her boring life as a servant to some king.

Sailor had made multiple attempts to get the other Dees on her side to revolt, but Bandee was always there to stop her before things got out of hand.

After all these failed attempts, Sailor gave up in frustration, marched up to Dedede, caused a scene announcing her quitting, and stormed out of the castle, leaving everyone else behind.

Bumping into Meta Knight as he and the rest of the Halberd crew were making the final preparations for the takeover mission, Sailor found that she was not the only one who had enough of Dream Land's "lazy lifestyle." Meta let Sailor on the team at the last minute, gifting her the sailor hat that she'd eventually be known for donning.

Even after the mission went completely awry, Sailor had ended up finding great comfort in being a member of the Halberd crew.

Kirby: The Great Super Kirby Clash Fight! Chapter ☆7: Peaceful... Or Not?!

Many peaceful days went by.

The Port Village was prospering more and more, and the Castle Village reconstruction was going along smoothly.

However... The Adventurer Bell, as if it had rusted completely, would not ring.

Kirby kept up a cheerful act in front of everyone, but he was always thinking about Dream Land.

The loneliness would attack him at night whenever he lay down in bed.

Waddle Dee, Meta Knight, King Dedede... one by one the thoughts would come up, bringing him close to tears.

(I hope everyone’s doing alright... I just want to see them...)

Even though Kirby loved sleeping just as much as he loved eating, many sleepless nights came and went, one after the other.

It was just another morning.

As always, Kirby woke up in his bed at the inn. He had slept lightly, so he woke up unrefreshed.

For a moment, he didn’t move from that bed, sitting down only half-awake.

Then, there was a knock on the door, and several energetic voices could be heard from behind.

“Heyyy, Sword!”

“How long have you been sleeping for?”

“C’mon, the sun is up and high in the sky. Wake up!”

It was the voices of Team Kirby Z!

Kirby jumped out of bed and opened the door.

“Oh... morning, everyone...”

“Good morning, Sword!” the trio said with cheerful voices.

Since the Kirbys were all staying at the same inn, they got to see each other often. However, this was the first time the three had rushed in invited in the morning.

“What’s going on?...”

“The weather outside is great today, so we thought about going out to play with everyone.”

“We thought you might wanna join. We’re gonna go swimming in the ocean!”

“Chef Kawasaki’s gonna pack boxed lunches for us. C’mon, it’ll be fun!”

The feelings of the trio spread to Kirby. He smiled.

Everyone must’ve noticed that Kirby wasn’t feeling well. So, they were trying to cheer him up.

The dark cloud that had been hanging over Kirby’s head quickly went away.

“Alright. Let’s go!”

“First things first, though: the boxed lunches.”

The four left the inn and headed for Chef Kawasaki’s tavern.

“Once we’re done swimming,” Beam said while walking, “how about we go to the Castle Village? Heard the reconstruction’s been going well.”

“Ooh, sounds good to me. Let’s go.”

“They’ve already managed to rebuild a lot of the houses. Heard some of the villagers have decided to move back...”

While talking, they approached the village square.

At that moment, a strange commotion could be heard.

“What happened to that guy?”

“They’re injured!”

“This is bad, someone needs to get this guy a doctor, ASAP...”

The voices were overlapping.

Someone had come stumbling in, down the path leading from the village gate to the village square. They appeared to be some sort of traveler.

They were wearing a hat over their head, carrying some sort of large baggage with them. However, their clothes were worn-out and torn, and their feet were visibly injured.

The Kirbys were shocked.

The first to snap out of it was Doctor.

“Hold on, I’m a doctor!!” he shouted, rushing over to the collapsed traveler.

The Kirbys gathered around the traveler. Doctor quickly mixed up some medicine and applied it to the wounds.

The traveler, finally able to talk, said as if struggling:

“R... r... run...”

“Huh?”

“Run... away... monster... c... coming...!”

“A monster...?”

A ferocious roar reached the dumbfounded Kirbys’ ears.

“GRAAAAAAAAAR!!!!”

Then, a figure emerged: a thug carrying a large lightning-emitting hammer.

“IT’S SPARK BONKERS!!!”

The villagers all screamed before running around, trying to escape. Spark Bonkers started striking anything and everything in sight with their hammer, smashing the brick paths with lightning.

But they didn’t come alone..

One after another, more monsters showed up.

Ice Dragon, King Doo, Colossal Kabu, Miasmoros...!

The monsters, spitting ice breath and poison, wreaked havoc on the buildings.

The villagers flew into panic.

“AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!”

“S-Stop! My house!!”

“Someone!! Anyone!! Help!!!”

Kirby, possessed by selflessness, jumped in front of the monsters.

“Knock it off!!!”

Doctor, Hammer, and Beam all joined alongside Kirby, blocking the monsters’ path.

They didn’t quite know what was happening, but they weren’t going to stand for this.

They had to find a way to stop the monsters.

However, Kirby then realized something:

He had planned on going swimming in the ocean, so he didn’t bring any weapons or armor with him. Neither did Hammer and Beam.

The monsters seemed to be on guard for just a moment, but, upon realizing that Team Kirby Z were unarmed, they carried on destroying the buildings with increasing energy.

“GRAAAAAAAR!!!!”

Letting out roars, they charged at the quartet!

Doctor, immediately throwing explosives, stopped the monsters in their tracks. Only he carried his flash around at all times, as it was a research tool. It saved them for the moment, but there was no way they could fight them off like this.

The monsters were slowly approaching the Kirbys.

“Wh... what are we going to do?!?!”

The Kirbys, standing frozen still, were out of options. And then...

“Muahahahaha! Oh, what’s the matter? Can’t fight anymore?”

A roaring laughter echoed.

The Kirbys recoiled.

In the air, a black cape waved.

And there, he appeared: Parallel Nightmare!

“You’re... you’re alive!!” Doctor shouted. Parallel Nightmare bent back and laughed.

“Oh, you really thought that pathetic little explosion would be enough to destroy me, the great Parallel Nightmare? How foolish of you!”

Kirby noticed that the echo of Parallel Nightmare’s voice was different to how it had been before. Before, his voice had already been quite revolting, but now it seemed to possess more of a deep wrath and resentment.

Just listening to it made Kirby shudder...

“-You lot have made me take this more seriously,” Parallel Nightmare said in a more melancholic voice, still floating in the air. “All I want is to take over this world. However, it seems that first I will have to get you four under control!”

Parallel Nightmare opened his big mouth wide.

“Now, I’m going to make you atone for your bad behavior! You’ve made me quite mad, you know! Apologies won’t cut it. Now, get ready, you foolish, conceited, ball-shaped brats!”

Parallel Nightmare spread open his cape. Star-shaped projectiles, much more powerful than before, flew all over the place! The villagers, unable to get up, screamed:

“AAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!”

“S-S-Save us!!!!”

Kirby spread both his arms out.

Even though he had no weapons or armor- he had to protect the villagers!

“Muahahahaha! Watch and learn, you pathetic round hellions!!!”

Parallel Nightmare let out a loud, triumphant laugh...

When...

“TEAM KIRBY Z! USE THESE!”

At the same time as the voice was heard, several weapons and armor pieces were thrown in front of the Kirbys.

It was the, Shoppe’s keeper, Magolor.

It seemed he had thrown them some of his wares.

Kirby quickly picked up a helmet and sword.

Unlike the usual weapons and armor, these were high-class items.

“An Abyssium Blade! And an Abyssium Helm too!”

Hammer, too, jumped at the weapons and armor.

“An Abyssium Hammer! And an Abyssium Helmet!”

And then Beam.

“Abyssium Staff! Abyssium Hat!”

And finally, Doctor, too, picked up the new, top-grade flask and headwear.

“Abyssium Flask! Abyssium Cap!”

After equipping the top-of-the-line gear, the four heroes sparkled like diamonds.

Team Kirby Z could finally strike back!

“Wh... what?!”

Parallel Nightmare could not believe his eyes.

“Hiyahhh!!!!”

Kirby jumped up and slashed at Parallel Nightmare. Parallel Nightmare bent back and dodged before panickedly giving orders to his monsters.

“Y-You lot!! Teach these round brats some manners!!” CRUSH THEM!!!”

“GRAAAAAAAAR!!!”

Knowing no fear, Spark Bonkers rushed in to attack. Kirby slashed at Spark Bonkers with his Abyssium Blade. He felt stronger than he had ever felt before up until this point.

Channeling all of his power into the sword, he further increased the sword’s power.

“TAAAAAAKE THIIIIISSS!!!!!

With just one hit, Super Bonkers was knocked over onto their own back.

Hammer and Beam, too, showed off a never-before-seen level of power.

“SAY HELLO TO MY GIANT SWING!!!”

“LET’S GO! TIME BEAM!!!”

The Abyssium gear was of tremendous power.

Before they knew it, they had taken care of the monsters.

The monsters started to flee, staggering away.

“Y-You idiots!!!” Parallel Nightmare shouted in haste. “Get back here!! Fight!! Don’t go!!!!!”

However, once he realized the monsters weren’t coming back, Parallel Nightmare shouted in rage:

“You haven’t seen the last of me! I, the great Parallel Nightmare, will bring your defeat! I will come back again, and again, AND AGAIN!!!!!”

He waved his cape.

“Wait!” Kirby shouted, but it was too late: Parallel Nightmare was gone.

The villagers were all frozen still in shock. Their once beautiful and peaceful village was now in absolute ruin thanks to those fiends. The brick paths were smashed, and there were large holes in the buildings. The injured villagers, they all let out a pain-filled groan.

“Oh my gosh...” Hammer mumbled in a hollow voice.

“That meanie survived,” Beam said, tears threatening to spill, “and he followed us back to the village!”

“...yeah,” Doctor said, glaring up at the air where Parallel Nightmare had been, “that jerk’s original plan was to take over the world. But after we gave him that beat-down, he must’ve changed his mind.”

“Huh?”

“Now his goal is to get revenge on us.”

Kirby nodded. Parallel Nightmare’s voice had a much darker tone than before. Now it had an undeniable tone of seething anger and mal-intent.

Now, Parallel Nightmare was driven by the desire for vengeance against Team Kirby Z.

One of the villagers than had been groaning in pain, Burning Leo, looked up.

“Team... Kirby Z...”

The Kirbys all looked toward him.

“As long as... you guys are... here... the village... will be targeted, won’t it!?...”

“...what?!”

Kirby was shocked.

The grief-stricken villagers, one by one, looked up. Their gazes all fixed on the Kirbys.

"...my house used to be in the Castle Village,” the snowman-like villager Chilly muttered with a dark eyes in his eyes. He hung his head before continuing on in tears. “It was destroyed in a monster attack. Now the same thing’s happening to this village too... isn’t that too much!?”

From the villagers mouths, out came many complaints all at once.

“Why!?! Why did they have to make him so mad!?!”

“Because of Team Kirby Z, the village is...!”

“I’m sick of it! I’m sick and tired of being attacked by monsters!!”

Surrounded by the villagers, the Kirbys were at a loss for words.

..and then:

“EVERYONE, STOP!!!”

The source of the loud shout jumped out:

Bandana Waddle Dee.

The normally docile and timid Bandana Waddle Dee. Upon seeing him, the villagers all had something to say:

“Wait, isn’t that the guardian of the Gem Apples?”

“Step aside! This isn’t about you!”

“I-I refuse to stand back!” Bandana Waddle Dee shouted with all the courage he could muster. “What are you guys even thinking!? Team Kirby Z are the ones who got rid of the monsters in the first place!!”

“But Team Kirby Z are the ones who made Parallel Nightmare mad too!!” Burning Leo rebutted. “It’s their fault!!”

The villagers all murmured amongst themselves.

“Uh... well...!”

Then, Kirby daringly shouted:

“Because we’re the ones who fight the monsters when they attack! Because we’re always trying to protect the village!”

“Yeah!”

Hammer raised his voice, holding up his Abyssium Hammer.

“I swear on this weapon in my hands right here. We’ll always give our all to protect this village!”

“Oh yeah, about that weapon...”

Magolor stepped forward.

“Return it please.”

“...what?”

“I gave those to you guys as rentals, so would you mind returning them now that you’re done with them?”

“....whaaaaat?!”

The Kirbys were taken aback.

“R-Rental?? Returning?? These???”

“Of course! I can’t just go around giving gear of that quality to people for free! If you want to keep them, you can buy them with Gem Apples.”

“B-But-”

“You don’t have to pay for the rentals. I’m generous, y’know!”

Magolor quickly collected up the expensive equipment. From amongst the villagers, many harsh voices came up, one after another.

“They don’t even have any decent equipment!!”

“We can’t count on Team Kirby Z!!”

“Because of you guys, this village is OVER. Now I have to move again!”

“Can you guys just stop!!” Bandana Waddle Dee shouted as if out of patience. “How could you say such horrible things about the Kirbys!!!”

“It’s alright, Bandana.”

Doctor stopped Bandana Waddle Dee.

“Thank you,” Kirby added, gently grabbing Bandana Waddle Dee’s hand, “but you don’t have to defend us.”

“Kirby...!”

Hammer and Beam added:

“It’s just as everyone said.”

“It’s our fault for making that guy so mad.”

“No!!”

Bandana Waddle Dee looked as if he were about to cry.

The villagers spoke apathetically:

“...hmph. Well anyways, we’ve gotta repair these destroyed buildings.”

Kirby nodded.

“Yeah. Let’s split the work among everyone and-”

“Look, Kirbys, just sit this out. We don’t want your help.”

The villagers turned their backs on Team Kirby Z.

“We’re not going to rely on you guys anymore.”

“Yeah, we don’t wanna make any more monsters angry.”

The villagers left the Kirbys behind with those cold words.

The next day.

Early in the morning, Bandana Waddle Dee went to the inn where the Kirbys were staying. The Kirbys, having had such cold words hurled at them by everyone, were very uneasy.

“Those ungrateful jerks. After all the Kirbys had done for them...”

Bandana Waddle Dee knocked on the door to Kirby’s room.

“Morning, Kirby! Good morning!...”

However, there was no response.

“Kirby? Kirby, is something wrong? Are you still asleep? Kirby!!”

With a sinking feeling, Bandana Waddle Dee went over to the other rooms’ doors and knocked.

“Doctor! Hammer! Beam!”

However, he didn’t get a response from any room.

“No way...”

Bandana Waddle Dee was dumbfounded.

The inn’s cleaner, Broom Hatter upon examining his expression, said:

“Oh, pretty sure those four left. All the rooms are empty, and the Gem Apples for the lodging fee were left on the bed.”

“Wha-!?! N... No...!!”

Bandana Waddle Dee ran out of the inn and ran all over the village. However, he couldn’t find the Kirbys anywhere.

Team Kirby Z had left the village without a word.
