All of his fits, tbh he has a surprising variety of outfits
I created labels/titles for all of them, as if this was a museum collection

The Business Dialogue
Tumblr media
(Fortuna concept art – Yuriy Zadorozhny)
The Business can aid the Tenno in disassembling their caught servofish to extract the valuable components. He also offers a rotating stock of servofish components, and will gladly accept donations of whole servofish on behalf of the workers of Fortuna, in exchange for Standing with Solaris United. When the Tenno captures an animal out on the Orb Vallis, he rewards them with a tag, which can be redeemed at his shop for a floof depicting the animal in question. As one of the key members of Solaris United, he is heavily involved in their more subversive activities.
Idle quotes
These are un-subtitled lines that Biz says when he is not interacting with anyone.
"Intending to spend time out in the Vallis? Oh, it's a rare miracle, but death to the unwary. Tell me what you're fixing on, and I'll steer you true."
"Offworlder, I'm in the business of keeping you alive, your quarry too, tranq rifles and lures. Help me preserve the miracle of the Orb Vallis ecosystem."
"So, you want to help preserve this biosphere's unique fauna? Hmm, admirable. So, let's talk instrumentation."
"Looking to trap Stover? Well, they'll take a piece out of you, you come at them the wrong way. Vermink? Slippery little buggers, but we can fix that, don't you worry."
Greeting the Tenno
(if the Tenno has just completed the Vox Solaris quest) "Outworlder. You've altered the calculus in the Vallis to our favour. Thank you. A… pity… it took young Thursby's tragedy to… motivate… Eudico to take up the mantle of leadership once more… but she is the leader Solaris United needs… and tragedy is the unavoidable cost of progress. I'll make sure Thursby gets up on his new feet. I… owe it to him."
"Used to be, you had a problem, you came to me. Now… I just sell fishing gear. Little Duck told me I was going soft, but a quiet life isn't so bad. I recommend it."
"I've a soft spot for Fortuna. Good people dealt a bad hand. I try to help when I can."
"I wasn't always about the… preservation of life – more the… strategic deletion of it. Conservation… is my calling, now. The scales… need balancing."
"She looks peaceful out there. But she'll turn. Prepare for that inevitability."
(if the Tenno has just reached the rank Old Mate) "I think the time's come to dispense with formality, to meet eye-to-eye. This is who I am, friend. Pleased to meet you."
(if the Tenno is rank Old Mate) "Eudico lost a lot of friends that first time SU was crushed – blames herself. Zuud may be the one hearing voices, but Eudico… she's the one with ghosts. I'm glad you're here with us. We need you. She needs you."
(if the Tenno is rank Old Mate) "Legs makes me laugh. Anyone who can do that is twice as valuable as any soldier or saboteur. Look out for him. Kid deserves better than this."
(if the Tenno is rank Old Mate) "I was there when we lost Zuud's sisters. For a lifetime, they shared a sensorium, created as one. Losing them crushed Zuud, her universe narrowing to a single set of eyes, one pair of hands. The isolation broke her, remade her. A tragic figure, to be sure, and loved."
(if the Tenno is rank Old Mate) "I've trained many. None possessed Little Duck's aptitude for spycraft. But we differed in philosophy. That, ultimately, was our end. I don't regret much, but I regret that. I do regret that."
(if the Tenno is rank Old Mate) "Boon, Roky, and their assembled orphan tribe. Troublemakers, but they're just getting by. I don't begrudge anyone who has to live in the vents – though I do wish they had better taste in music. ‘Skeg' is it? Sounds like a bag of hammers being thrown down a flight of stairs."
(if the Tenno is rank Old Mate) "I prefer not to talk about myself. An old habit, from another time. You understand."
(if the Tenno is rank Old Mate) "Well, look who it is. Keeping warm, I trust? If you're heading out, we should have ourselves a talk."
(if the Tenno is rank Old Mate) "Well, hello. How have you been keeping?"
(if the Tenno is rank Old Mate) "Well, well. Good to see you. Let's talk, you and I."
Browsing conservation offerings
"When we woke the Orokin terraforming engines, we also revived species long since extinct. I need your help to save these beasts from the Corpus' Feed and Research Division… 'scientists'. Track-and-tranq. Now: let's get you sorted out with a tranq rifle and echo-lure."
"Track-and-tranq: the basis of our conservation efforts. Now, what are you short on?"
"Track the beast, lure it out, then subdue it with a well-placed tranquiliser."
"You get paid, and we save something rare from Corpus… 'scientists'. Stay downwind, and aim true."
Purchasing a servofish trophy blueprint
"She's a bit of a mess at the moment, granted, but with a little attention, she'll be fit for the wall of a lodge."
"Mounting board's ready. Let's begin."
"Very good. I'll begin."
"Just a moment."
"Finished. Opinion?"
"And done. Majestic."
"Beautiful. She's all yours."
Exiting store with purchase
"Stay sharp."
"Keep your face to the wind, friend."
"All right. Travel safe."
Exiting store without purchase
"All right, well, be careful out there."
"Maybe later, then."
"As you were."
Selecting fish
(Common servofishes include Brickies, Echowinders, Sapcaddies, Scrubbers, and Tinks.)
(basic common servofish) "Hm. Simple. Stripped-back design. A bit primitive, but handsomely made."
(adorned common servofish) "Decent. Needs maintenance, but in good condition."
(magnificent common servofish) "Well, this specimen's quite complex. Heavily modified. Fascinating."
(Eye-Eye, Mirewinder, Kriller, Recaster) "I see this particular model quite a bit."
(Charamote, Tromyzon, Longwinder) "Hm. When did I last see one of these? The Orokin deployed automated cleaners, much as we do, their designs influencing the workings of much of our own. A rare catch indeed."
(Synathid) "Wait. Do you know what this is? An original Orokin custodial drone! Where in the world did you find this? Most people have only ever seen this fellow in pictures. Old pictures. He must have been down there for… centuries."
Dismantling servofish
"You don't seem to need help with that. Shout out when you're done."
"Good choice. I'll leave you to it."
"All right, have at it."
(afterwards) "I love what I do, but never quite get used to the smell. [sniff] Ugh, all those built-up toxins."
(afterwards) "Handily done, there. Nice outcome."
(afterwards) "A pleasure watching you work."
Providing servofish
"Making friends can be a simple thing: be kind. Fortuna's rig jockeys are in constant need of parts and repair, and many can't afford it. Share some of your catch. They'll remember."
"If you've a spare servofish or two, I can take the parts to those who need them. The Temple frowns on charity, so people are hurting."
"Part with some of your catch. We'll separate their components and distribute them to the needy. There's certainly enough of them."
(afterwards) "I'll find those who need the parts and have them seen to. It is a fine thing you do."
(afterwards) "Ah, wonderful. I know just who will benefit from this."
(afterwards) "Thank you."
Bidding farewell
"I'll be here, when next you return."
"Til next time."
"Eyes open, and face to the wind, friend."
Animal conservation on the Orb Vallis
Out on the Orb Vallis, animals such as Verminks, Kubrodons, and Sawgaws can be found, and captured with the right gear. Conservation requires a tranq rifle and an echo-lure (specific to the animal), both purchased from The Business. Pheromone synthesisers, specific to the animal, can also be purchased from The Business and are used to increase the chances of rare species appearing.
Once an animal trace is found, the tracks can be followed to an echo-lure point, where the Tenno can deploy an echo-lure to coax the animal out of hiding. Once it appears, the Tenno must hit the animal with a tranquiliser dart to subdue it, before calling for a drone to carry the animal away to safety.
Finding spoor
"Observe. Our quarry has marked their passing with more than… hm. Follow the tracks."
"They'll be nearby. Follow their trail carefully. We don't want to startle them."
"We're very close to them now. Follow that trail."
"They were here very recently, and departed in that direction. Follow."
"Good. Good good. We're very close. Pursue, but quietly."
"A tuft of fur. There will be creatures nearby."
"Our quarry was here very recently. As that trail of prints attests. Track them down."
"We've almost got you now, my little friend [chuckles]. They're very close by. Follow the trail."
"Fresh leavings, and… there. A trail. Follow."
"Scat! Mm, fresh, too. This is your chance to lure them in."
"Tracks. And fresh."
"Footsteps. A creature is near."
"Fresh tracks. Go."
Hearing a response to the echo-lure
(Pobber) "That is the call of a Pobber. Not the mightiest of beasts… but worthy of salvation nonetheless, despite the odour. Now, you must be stealthy: preyed upon by Sawgaws and Virmink, Pobbers will flee at the slightest hint of danger."
(Virmink) "The mating call of a Virmink. They're capable hunters of smaller prey, but will turn tail and run at first sight of something as formidable as yourself. You'll find Virmink loping across the plains or lying in wait amongst the giant fungi, stalking Pobbers. Now, where is it?"
(Sawgaw, variant) "That is the cry of a formidable raptor the Solaris call a Sawgaw. This crimson-faced bird of prey circles and stalks the cliffs and fungal forests of Venus, searching for rodent prey."
(Sawgaw, variant) "Being an avian, the Sawgaw prefers a high vantage point. Nothing higher than the oversized Vallis fungi."
(Sawgaw, variant) "Sawgaws and the giant Vallis fungi go hand-in-hand. Remember to look up. The little fellow could be eyeballing us right now."
(Sawgaw, variant) "The Gorgaricus fungi are preferred perches for Sawgaw. That's where we'll find them."
(Sawgaw, variant) "Sawgaw perch high up, the better to scan for prey undetected. Check the fungi."
(Borarola, variant) "Mountains, caves: these are things Bolarolas find… comforting. Craters, too, on occasion. Now, this species is all about defense. Their armoured plates protect their vulnerable undersides from predators, tucking and rolling to make good their escape. So, when it appears, while you can, target their belly and strike true."
(Borarola, variant) "Right. Nature's little tank, this one. Your only chance will be to target the soft underbelly."
(Borarola, variant) "A careless tranq shot will simply bounce off the Bolarola's carapace. It's the underbelly or nothing for this one."
(Borarola, variant) "Forget about targeting the Bolarola any-old-where. The underbelly is its only vulnerable spot."
(Borarola, variant) "Bolarola. Armoured. Except for the belly."
(Horrasque, variant) "A Horrasque. This hideous creature is terrible to behold, but will not attack unless provoked, preferring to be left to wallow and hunt in peace. When riled, however, its roar will shake the bowels of even the most steadfast trapper."
(Horrasque, variant) "The Horrasque are tunnellers. This one will surface, tentatively, and if he sees you… vanish. Lay low. Let him emerge. Then fire your tranq."
(Horrasque, variant) "The Horrasque will leave its tunnel only if it feels safe. So be quiet and careful, give it a moment, and then tranq."
(Horrasque, variant) "Alright. The Horrasque will tunnel towards the call, then poke its head aboveground. If it feels safe, it will emerge and wander. Then, you fire the tranq."
(Horrasque, variant) "The Horrasque will surface nearby. Give it a moment, let it emerge, and the tranquilise it."
(Stover, variant) "The Stover: a kind of proto-Kubrow. When grouped in a pack they are relentless opponents. I once asked, 'Why Stover?' and was told it was because they're dumb as a stove, run hot… and having one on top of you ruins your day. Remember this: if you walk into a cave system that feels too warm, get out. Stover den."
(Stover, variant) "Good news: Stovers are nearly blind. Bad news: they hear well enough to make up for it, don't like intruders, and will take multiple shots to tranquilise. So… don't mess about."
(Stover, variant) "Stovers: cave dwellers. Bad eyesight, excellent hearing, highly territorial. Hardy, so you'll need more than one shot to put them down. And they're aggressive. (cheerfully) Good luck!"
(Stover, variant) "Check the caves. Stover are near-blind but hear fantastically well and don't take kindly to intruders. And they're beefy as hell, so you'll need to tranq them more than once. Hopefully before you get mauled."
(Stover, variant) "Check the caves, and remember: they investigate sound. Also: you'll need to tranq the animal a few times before they go down. They're… impressively proportioned. They're basically a bicep with a face, if I'm honest."
(Kubrodon) "Ah. Yes. Well. This is interesting. You've managed to attract a Kubrodon. The apex predator of the Venusian plains. These massively framed beasts often travel in groups, claiming the whole of the Vallis as their domain. Needless to say: be careful. Especially when it gets dark."
(if the Tenno uses the wrong lure) "A mating call excellently performed… but… that's the wrong lure."
(if the Tenno uses the wrong lure) "Wrong lure. You'll need to match their call, if you want to get their attention."
(if the Tenno uses the wrong lure) "You've chosen the incorrect lure, Outworlder. Common mistake."
Successful echo-lure call
"Perfect. Alright. Shoulder your tranq rifle, and make the shot count." "Final stage. When the animal appears, aim your tranq well, and our work is done."
"A melodic response. And now, something equally gentle from us. Prepare your tranq, and let's carry this animal to safety."
"Stay downwind and hidden, until you have a clear shot with your tranquiliser."
"Now, we wait for the animal to approach."
"Yes. Come on out, little friend. A quick and painless tranq shot and it's off to safety with you."
"Here they come. Ready your tranq rifle, and prepare."
"Remember: Identify. Inhale. Exhale. And tranq."
"Ready your tranq and wait."
"Now, ready your tranq."
"Ah, the moment of truth. Ready your tranq rifle."
"Well done. Now, prepare your tranq rifle."
"Tranq rifle at the ready…."
When an animal appears
(Sunny Pobber) "A Sunny Pobber. Slightly less common than your garden variety. Lovely colouration though."
(Delicate Pobber) "Ah. A Delicate Pobber. A descendant of an Orokin domesticated strain. Less odorous, with a sweeter temperament, but far less hardy. A rare find."
(Subterranean Pobber) "My word. This little fellow shouldn't be up here. Note the near-white coat, the vibrant pink eyes. He's adapted to survive belowground, away from the claws of Sawgaw and Vermink. We may have found the first uniquely Venusian mutation of the Pobber genus. [gasps] Astounding!"
(White-Breasted Vermink) "A White-Breasted Virmink. Fairly common. Let's get him to safety."
(Dusky-Headed Vermink) "A Dusky-Headed Virmink, favoured by the Corpus for their pelts. She's lucky we found her first. A rare find."
(Red-Crested Vermink) "Is that…? Outworlder. That's a Red-Crested Virmink, a subspecies extinct since the age of the Orokin. It must have lain preserved here, revived along with the Orb Vallis. Dare I hope there are others? We must preserve this specimen! We must!"
(Flossy Sawgaw) "A Flossy Sawgaw. Pretty little thing… as long as you're not a rodent."
(Alpine Monitor Sawgaw) "The Alpine Monitor Sawgaw. Quite the alpha. Hardier and more formidable than the Common and Flossy varieties. This one would have their own little coterie around here somewhere. Perhaps we can find them, too."
(Frogmouthed Sawgaw) "Is that…? I hadn't dared to hope. Outworlder, I have managed – at great risk – to secure an exceedingly rare Frogmouthed Sawgaw in the hope of someday locating a breeding partner for it. You have just found that mate. Please, very carefully, tranquilise our little friend and bring it in. The future demands this of us."
(Spotted Bolarola) "A Spotted Bolarola. Happy little thing. Let's bring it in; there's plenty of friends waiting for it."
(Black-Banded Bolarola) "A Black-Banded Bolarola. Their appealingly laminated plates were sported for a time as part of Grineer formalwear. Which is why we don't often see them anymore. Well, if I have my way, that'll change. Let's bring it in."
(Thorny Bolarola) "That's an… unusual silhouette for a… oh my. Look at that. Iridescent laminate to its defensive bands… and what look like defensive barbs. Outworlder, this is a most unusual Bolarola! Bring it in, but carefully."
(Dappled Horrasque) "Oh, a Dappled Horrasque! What a handsome fellow he is. Let's bring him in."
(Swimmer Horrasque) "The Horrasque favour bodies of water, what with their mainly fish diet, but they're not especially good swimmers. This particular subspecies, however, is. A bit of a rarity. Let's keep him safe."
(Horrasque Stormer) "Would you look at that, Outworlder. A Horrasque Stormer. Hunted to near-extinction for the insulating properties of its fur. I never thought to see one again. We must bring this magnificent beast in safely."
(Sentinel Stover) "Sentinel Stover. Must be a den nearby. Bring it in. I'll send out a party, see if we can't find its packmates."
(Fuming Dax Stover) "A Fuming Dax Stover. Hardier and, frankly, crankier than your typical Sentinel Stover. They tend to boss the others around, ordering the den through brute force and intimidation."
(Fire-Veined Stover) "'Majestic' isn't a term I often reserve for something as dense and ungainly as Stovers, but for this magnificent creature I'll make an exception. I wonder why it's out here? Hm, let's not question this bizarre good fortune. Tranquilise it, and let's get it to safety."
(Brindle Kubrodon) "A Brindle Kubrodon, and quite a hardy specimen at that. Wonderful."
(Vallis Kubrodon) "Ah. This old fellow. I've encountered a few of these, but never outside the Vallis. As such, unimaginatively, I've named them the Vallis Kubrodon: our little planet's contribution to the genetic diversity of the Origin System."
(Kubrodon Incarnadine) "Now there's something to give the children nightmares. The legendary Kubrodon Incarnadine: the canine equivalent of the monster in your closet. Possessed of a particular malevolence, a dark intelligence, it kills not to survive, but for the raw pleasure of doing so. Nonetheless, I have tasked myself with preservation… so we will bring this devil in."
Call for recovery
"Hm. Quite young." / "Just a pup, this one." / "A juvenile." / "Fully developed." / "A fully-grown specimen." / "Mature."
"Male." / "Female."
(Sunny Pobber) "A Sunny Pobber. Slightly less common than your garden variety, but a happy little thing nonetheless."
(Sunny Pobber) "In no danger of extinction, this one, but a life is a life, is it not?"
(Sunny Pobber) "Fairly common, but lovely colouration."
(Delicate Pobber) "Ah. A Delicate Pobber. A descendant of an Orokin-domesticated strain. A rare find."
(Delicate Pobber) "An ancient Orokin legacy strain. Quite rare. I'll be sure to take extra-special care of our new friend. Yes I will, lovely."
(Delicate Pobber) "A Delicate Pobber! A rare breed! Just marvelous."
(Subterranean Pobber) "Mmm. Upon awakening the coolant towers, new life emerged. Genetic material, carried, I believe, in the coolant itself… interacting with some ancient, hidden component of the Orokin Vallis landscape. Life was seeded, quite literally, across its length and breadth. And here, now, we see the next stage of that emergence and evolution."
(Subterranean Pobber) "Note the adaptations for below-ground survival, away from the claws of Sawgaw and Virmink."
(Subterranean Pobber) Hello, my cute little friend, you're in good hands now."
(White-Breasted Vermink) "A White-Breasted Vermink. Fairly common. And lively!"
(White-Breasted Vermink) "A common variation. Such a noble bearing. Let's get them to safety."
(White-Breasted Vermink) "The White-Breasted is a popular pet, when they can be tamed. Not for this one, though."
(Dusky-Headed Vermink) "A Dusky-Headed Virmink, favoured by the Corpus for their pelts. Lucky we found them first. A rare find."
(Dusky-Headed Vermink) "A rare Dusky-Headed Virmink! Just look at the gloss on that coat! Gorgeous. Just gorgeous."
(Dusky-Headed Vermink) "Nef would have given quite a bit for your hide, my pretty little thing."
(Red-Crested Vermink) "The Vallis lifeforms emerged like memories, as Venus herself remembered who she was. This, here, is one of the most distant, most precious remembrances – an original Orokin strain, unseen for millennia. (angrily) And Nef would have it ground down to make nutrient paste. Another sacrifice to short-term thinking, to profit. To that, I say no. I say never!"
(Red-Crested Vermink) "I never thought, in all my wildest imaginings, I would behold a subspecies crafted in the gene forges of the Orokin themselves. But here it is. A Red-Crested Virmink. A miracle."
(Red-Crested Vermink) "A subspecies extinct since the age of the Orokin. Dare I hope there are others? This specimen will be tended with the greatest of care."
(Flossy Sawgaw) "The Flossy Sawgaw. Sometimes prized for its feathers. Safe now."
(Flossy Sawgaw) "While their vision is remarkable, when it comes to mating, the Sawgaw appreciate the tactile more than the visual. Delightful plumage."
(Flossy Sawgaw) "A Flossy Sawgaw. Very pretty. A fine catch."
(Alpine Monitor Sawgaw) "What Corpus or noble wouldn't give a fortune to have this magnificent avian confined to a gilded enclosure in some distant villa. You've preserved a rare and magnificent thing this day."
(Alpine Monitor Sawgaw) "Hardy. Formidable. Gorgeous."
(Alpine Monitor Sawgaw) "Just look at it. Magisterial."
(Frogmouthed Sawgaw) "A Frogmouth Sawgaw. I wouldn't have thought it possible, Outworlder. This species hasn't existed since before my grandfather was a boy. And yet, here it is. Miraculous."
(Frogmouthed Sawgaw) "Extinct for generations. And yet here it is, now… and Nef's first instinct would be to display it stuffed in his boardroom. I will treat this one with the utmost care and find a mate…if a counterpart exists anywhere on this planet. The future demands nothing less of me."
(Frogmouthed Sawgaw) "The Corpus ravage their populations in the name of short-term profit, yet here the rarest, most exquisite of them survives… albeit barely. The Frogmouthed Sawgaw. A thing I'd only ever seen in books!"
(Spotted Bolarola) "Spotted. A somewhat common subspecies, this one. Such a sweet face, don't you think?"
(Spotted Bolarola) "Ah yes, the Spotted Bolarola. Let's bring it in."
(Spotted Bolarola) "A Spotted Bolarola. Happy little thing."
(Black-Banded Bolarola) "Upon awakening the coolant towers, and the great geophysical upheavals that followed, new life emerged. This Bolarola, for example – a rare Black-Banded variant seen almost nowhere else. Fascinating. What this place must have been, once upon a time."
(Black-Banded Bolarola) "Feisty. We're lucky to have found this one before some wandering Sawgaw, or worse, did. These rare breeds need protection more than most."
(Black-Banded Borarola) "You don't know how lucky you are, my rare little friend."
(Thorny Borarola) "Plates, barbs, and an iridescent sheen to enhance mate attraction. Outworlder, you've found an exceedingly rare specimen here! Oh, this is fascinating! Well done!"
(Thorny Borarola) "Incredible. Just look at the way its defensive plating has evolved to include an offensive component! Not many have ever seen a Thorny Bolarola. Well done, Outworlder! Well done!"
(Thorny Borarola) "A species I've only heard tell of in legend. What a prize! Ha ha!"
(Dappled Horrasque) "The common Dappled Horrasque. Lovely. Let's bring them in."
(Dappled Horrasque) "Common subspecies. And quite a pleasing mottling to this one, don't you think?"
(Dappled Horrasque) "A Dappled Horrasque! You're quite the handsome specimen, aren't you? Yes you are. Yes you are."
(Swimmer Horrasque) "A rare Swimmer Horrasque. Not conventionally pretty, I'll grant you, but remarkably graceful in its chosen environment. Exquisite."
(Swimmer Horrasque) "They say Swimmer Horrasques don't make mistakes. I've seen one explode from beneath the water to take down prey twice their size. Terrifying, and yet… awe-inspiring."
(Swimmer Horrasque) "This one's a bit of a rarity. Let's keep them safe."
(Horrasque Stormer) "Ohh, the rarest of the rare. A Horrasque Stormer. I admit, I never thought to see one again. And we brought it to safety. I must secure it a mate as quickly as possible."
(Horrasque Stormer) "Unbelievable. Exquisite. A Horrasque Stormer. Outworlder, I wouldn't have thought it possible. Dazzling. Wondrous."
(Horrasque Stormer) "Hunted to near-extinction, the rarest of all Horrasques, yet it perseveres. Singular."
(Sentinel Stover) "Sentinel Stover. It would have been keeping watch for its pack. Look at it: such a proud bearing."
(Sentinel Stover) "Sentinel Stover. Must be a den nearby."
(Sentinel Stover) "Sentinel Stover. I'll send out a party, see if we can find its packmates."
(Fuming Dax Stover) "A Fuming Dax Stover. Rare. And angry. Special care will be taken transporting this one."
(Fuming Dax Stover) "A rare Dax Stover of the Fuming variety. I may have to use a sedative, unfortunately."
(Fuming Dax Stover) "Tough and cranky. A very lucky find!"
(Fire-Veined Stover) "This specimen would have been central to the entire den. Right now, the pack will be choosing a new leader, butting and roaring for superiority. Might help us find them."
(Fire-Veined Stover) "With this specimen secured, I have all I need to begin a new breeding colony. Today, we have safeguarded the future."
(Fire-Veined Stover) "How can you not admire such noble bearing, even in one so brutish? Wondrous."
(Brindle Kubrodon) "A Brindle Kubrodon, and quite a hardy specimen at that. Wonderful."
(Brindle Kubrodon) "The Kubrodon is misunderstood. They're no more savage than anything else. When home is threatened, it possesses the means to defend. They don't even like how we taste."
(Brindle Kubrodon) "Such dignity. A reasonably common variant of the apex predator, distilled to its purest form."
(Vallis Kubrodon) "Once an Orokin playground, perhaps, the Vallis is a discarded crown overgrown with fungus and flora, now home to little fellas such as this. The Vallis Kubrodon. Glorious."
(Vallis Kubrodon) "Spectacular. And with enough mandibular strength to snap your femur clean in half, had it a mind to."
(Vallis Kubrodon) "This one's a rare thing these days, and never outside the Vallis."
(Kubrodon Incarnadine) "The implacable hatred one species bears towards the other who usurped it positively radiates from this one. I shall be handling this particular specimen… carefully."
(Kubrodon Incarnadine) "We have captured a devil, Outworlder. Future generations may question our wisdom, but I have taken an oath."
(Kubrodon Incarnadine) "Monstrous, but worthy of life nonetheless. Thank your lucky stars it was we who found you."
Aftermath
"And, oh, I see now this one needs medical attention, and soon. You got to them just in time. I will see to this immediately."
"Easy now. Parasites, cracked footpads… nothing some attention and a good meal won't fix. Well done, Outworlder."
"Mmm. Clear-eyed and in good health. Excellent."
"Just a little worse for wear, but we can see to that. Nicely done."
"Now then. Vitals are solid. I'll take it from here."
"Easy now, sweet thing. We're going to take good care of you."
"Oh… they are beautiful."
"Settle down, little friend, settle down. We're almost done."
"You've caught us a wild one, friend. Quite a handful."
"You've done a noble thing here, friend. This one might be a little cranky, but they owe you their life."
If the animal escapes
"You've lost it!"
"Sorry, Outworlder, you've scared it off."
"You'll need to practice the Echo-Lure more."
"And there they go. Next time."
"Easy come, easy go. Still: we persist. They'll not evade us for long."
"We've lost them, Outworlder. Let's regroup… and try again."
"Curses. I can almost hear that little bugger laughing. Oh well. Next time."
"Vanished. You have to admire their resilience. Ah well. We'll be back."
"Failure. [sighs] Happens to the best of us. We'll have other chances."
"Ah, well. If the little fella wants to remain here that badly, we can't hold it against them."
"Outsmarted. Damn it all! Wily little thing."
"Not today, Outworlder. The field is theirs. Let's withdraw."
If the animal dies
"Enough! The intention is to aid these poor animals, not kill them!"
"Track-and-tranq! TRANQ! Do you understand?!"
"Do you perhaps think yourself on safari? We are here to capture and preserve. Outworlder! Holster your weapons."
The Business' story is told in the memory fragments scattered around the Orb Vallis. He ran the Fortuna ARG and was responsible for dispensing the intelligence uncovered during that event. He has additional dialogue in the Vox Solaris quest and the Profit-Taker heist bounties. He is mentioned in the dialogue of Eudico, Rude Zuud, Legs, Ticker, Roky, Little Duck, and Master Teasonai, and in the lore fragments of Eudico, Rude Zuud, Legs, and Little Duck.

Another thread from IDW GI Joe writer Aubrey Sitterson, on why he changed the character Salvo—a white dude with a bodybuilder physique—into a dark-skinned, dreadlocked Samoan woman with a body type like a pro wrestler or powerbuilder. Text copied and edited together here, with a few notes for clarity:
My thread on lasers in G.I. Joe/Scarlett's Strike Force was well-received, so let's talk about something else that has upset a very vocal group of fans: The change from Salvo's original appearance to the current, as drawn by @musashinoelegy, @IliasKyriazis & @nelsondaniel
For the uninitiated, Salvo first showed up as an action figure in 1990. Quite some time ago, years past the property's peak era. Since then, while never one of the most popular Joes, he's become a cult favorite because LOOK AT HIM. He's rad in all the best early 90s ways.
Importantly, however, Salvo had not yet shown up in IDW's continuity. I know it doesn't matter to some folks, but it was important to me that we honor what came before by not retconning characters and stories.
I wanted to use Salvo because, again, LOOK AT HIM, but at the same time, the Joes, which had changed to an international team, were in desperate need of some non-American characters. At the time, I joked that Decepticon Skywarp was the only one.
Also, being entirely honest, as great as the design is, in 2017, a big, heavily muscled white guy with a shaved head, massive guns and a t-shirt that reads THE RIGHT OF MIGHT gives off a vibe that reads way too alt-right for me.
So I decided to change Salvo's gender and race, recontextualizing something that could have been read as problematic instead into something empowering. And what's more powerful than badass female wrestlers!? That's why I sent [illustrator] Giannis [professional wrestler] Nia Jax images for reference.
Every time the Olympics roll around, images like these [photoset of Olympic athletes of diverse heights, muscle tone, body mass, and body fat] get shared widely. The point of them is that athletes come in all shapes and sizes. The commonly held idea that you have to look like a fitness model to be an incredible athlete is bunk.
My thinking was that if Salvo was chosen for G.I. Joe in order to carry and fire hilariously massive weapons, she should be built for strength. More powerlifter, less bikini model. More thick limbs, less abs showing through t-shirts.
And Salvo wasn't the only character that got this treatment. Shipwreck also grew thicker as drawn by @musashinoelegy & @IliasKyriazis. (We haven't shown any of @nelsondaniel's similar take from Scarlett's Strike Force yet!)
But while some folks noted that Shipwreck had put on some pounds, his appearance didn't inspire the outrage and, frankly, vile, hateful comments that Salvo's has. When people were calling for my head a couple months ago, one of their biggest complaints was our new Salvo.
And while it's not a one-to-one comparison (Shipwreck is still a Hispanic man, whereas Salvo has changed to a Samoan woman) I think the overwhelming differences in response are telling. Certain people don't want to see women of color, especially larger WOC in their comics.
And because the mere existence and depiction of larger WOC is so unacceptable to those people, that makes the representation of larger WOC all that much more important. G.I. Joe, as a concept, has always been about inclusion and inclusion means EVERYONE.
I'm proud of the work that we've all done on G.I. Joe and are currently doing on Scarlett's Strike Force. And while I wish everyone loved and adored it, there's something to be said for ticking off the right people, which we clearly have.
G.I. Joe and the new Scarlett's Strike Force have been designed from the ground-up to be inclusive and aspirational. While I'm not perfect on this stuff (@MairghreadScott checked me on a thing early on – many thanks for that), it is something I strive for.
I keep calling G.I. Joe "The Crown Jewel of the Hasbro Universe" and Scarlett's Strike Force "The Best Action Comic Ever" and inclusivity is a huge part of that. If the books weren't inclusive, neither of those claims would hold any water.
Finally, at the risk of seeming self-serving: Reading and RTing threads about inclusive comics is great, but what's even better is BUYING inclusive comics so they can keep getting made. Scarlett's Strike Force hits stores 12/27. Ask your local retailer to order you one today.
It’s especially interesting for me as a reader to see how Shipwreck is spun—a fat vegetarian character is entirely unheard of in comics, and it’s strongly implied that he’s at least flirty with fellow Joe dude Gung-Ho, if not outright in a relationship with him.

How Line 6 and other tech helps me as a teacher. Spider V 120 + Relay G10. The Blogging Musician @ adamharkus.com
I’ve been a professional musician and full-time music teacher for about 24 years. I got a very early start working exclusively at music schools. The number one thing I learned as a teacher is that music is always changing, times are always changing, and kids today are not like kids yesterday. To keep a student’s interests you have to keep up with the times. Another important aspect to teaching is being able to introduce students to (quite literally) everything there is to know about the world they’ve just entered.
The traditional method of teaching for years was, “Learn to read music. Here’s a book.” The contemporary method after the birth of the internet was years of, “tabs are the way to go. You’ll learn faster!” Good teachers new and old will tell you that theory is important.
It’s all important!
Some students are learning classical guitar. Some are learning acoustic, some electric. You have to fine tune the curriculum to match each student. Some aren’t at all interested in electric guitar, or acoustic guitar, or certain genres. I had a student recently ask about some tech in my studio only to reply, “Okay, okay, I don’t care…” We had a chat about rudeness, but what I learned was, “Not everyone is techy.” The most important thing is to really lock into what interests each student. You have to balance their needs with their wants.
Technology has played a huge role.
We used to only involve technology in lessons via a tape/CD player, and some form of a metronome (wind-up, quartz, digital…) Today, those things have been elevated and replaced by technical advancements like YouTube, metronome apps, music players, and even apps designed to isolate sound, slow down the music, loop sections, change keys, and more. I found a valuable tool in the Capo app for iOS for many years. Unfortunately, that app dropped quickly in popularity and usefulness amongst the student population when they shifted over to the subscription sales model. They went from high sales to zero percent sales amongst 700+ students at the school I work for all week. Guitar Pro is a fantastic app for creating high quality sheet music in any form – rhythm, notation, and tablature. There’s a mobile version of the app that opens sheets to read and play along with. No editing in the mobile version, but with a one-time purchase the software allows students to hear any song I give them sheet music for if they wish to download a digital copy. Great!
Enter Line 6.
Another avenue for technology in the guitar world is in our amps and digital effects. Companies like Line 6 paved the way a long time ago for amplifiers to have built-in effects and other features such as tuners. Popular companies like Fender and Boss/Roland caught up and now it’s very easy to find many great amps with on-board effects. I have a Marshall with built-in chorus and delay. Still, with everything out there, Line 6 has made their market bloom with one very important concept: USER FRIENDLINESS.
While they do target both hobbyist and professionals alike, I think they might be overlooking the potential in the world of students. But THIS veteran music teacher has embraced that potential. Years ago when I started at the school where I work now, the owner asked what amps we should supply the studios with. We didn’t need big amps, just practice size ones. However, many of the smaller amps on the market didn’t have a big tone in a small body. They’d sound thin, the overdrive would sound weak or too tinny. Effects weren’t even an option. The decision to stock the school with great sounding practice amps that had a good amount of features at an affordable price lead us to purchasing the Line 6 Spider III 15 amps. They were plenty loud for a small studio, but with great tone at low and higher volume levels. The onboard effects made for a little fun for students to tinker with new sounds that they didn’t know were possible with guitar. The amps were about $100 each, which was within budget when stocking up and furnishing an entire school. The end result: An entire school full of Line 6 Spider III amps.
Now, years later, we see the Spider V on the market, and the new MKII which has some really great upgrades like Impulse Responses.
So how is Line 6 influencing my teaching now?

While the school has Spider III amps around around 2 buildings, I have upgraded my studio. Mine features a Spider III for the students, a Spider V 120 for me, an old Variax (to be upgraded one day), the wireless Relay G10 which charges right off the Spider V amp, and the ol’ but still powerful Firehawk FX floorboard. I also have the FBV III foot controller for the Spider V just for show, but I don’t necessarily use it.
Here’s how those effects come into play when teaching…
The Variax allows me to demonstrate the sounds of different guitars. Students can hear the differences between different types of pickups, acoustic and electric, and even guitar cousins like our old favorite 12-string guitars and others like the resonators, banjo, sitar guitar, and more. I’ve setup my Variax to simulate ranges as well, such as capo shifts, baritone guitar, and even a setting to simulate bass guitar. Another teaching advantage with the Variax involves a term I’ve longed to change:
Tone-deafness!
We’ve always associated tone-deafness with that relative who howls off key and calls it singing. The sour notes of death that come out of the person who was never meant to sing. Ever. That’s not the case! Sure, “a tone” is a sound, or a note. But think about this in the music world. We call notes pitches, and tone is more of the quality of voice. “I love your guitar tone, man!” The term I’ve used is pitch-deafness. That’s the inability to hear different pitches and identify them well. To me, tone-deafness is the ear’s confusion between voices mistaking the same note for a different one simply because it doesn’t sound exactly the same. For instance, a good student can identify 3 identical high E notes on the guitar (open E, E on the B string 5 fret, and E on the G string 9th fret) and still tell that there’s a slight tonal difference due to string thickness.
I was a True Tone-deaf student. I learned on an acoustic, and my teacher taught on an electric. Even though we played the same notes, they didn’t sound the same. This confused my ear sometimes. The Variax has solved his challenge with beginners. I’ve noticed more and more over the years that students say less and less often, “Wait… are you sure that’s right? Yours sounds different than mine.” I use the Variax to match their guitar model. A student with a Fender Strat (popular amongst beginners on a budget) will hear very little difference with the custom Variax Strat tone I’ve setup. The only challenge I’m still working on are the classical acoustic guitars. Variax technology hasn’t really marketed heavily in that realm, but perhaps one day!
The Spider amps and Firehawk effects bring a world of sounds to the student great visual appeal. The students love the colorful lights, of course, but there’s more than just shiny bright things that really help them learn. The apps illustrate how effects chains work. The students can easily change sounds by just touching the screen, or turning a knob. The preset knob parameters on the Spider V make it easy for students to see how “less and more” can modify an effect on any channel. What I love is how the effects are displayed in the app’s library. When you select another amp or pedal there’s an image of the original model that it’s based on. The students don’t really know all of those models, but they have the opportunity to see how they look different. What would be even better is if the icons would get larger when selected. For now, if a student asks, I’ll Google up an image of the original and compare it with the app side-by-side while turning knobs and moving faders around. What’s more, having the old classic Spider III in the room lets them see just how broad the spectrum of digital amps are out there – simple to complex, and soft to REALLY LOUD!
By introducing students to the world of different apps, effects, guitars, etc. we as teachers can keep them inspired and interested. We can let them see what’s out there for them besides just “practice more!” They start to see what direction they want to head as beginner musicians. We, the teachers, look at their reactions to the sounds they hear and it helps us tweak their curriculum even further. This keeps the student excited and willing to play. The next step, of course, is to choose songs that really work great with whatever sounds the student likes best (while still teaching them things that are practical for learning.)
With more than 200 amps, cabinets, and effects there’s more than enough to show the students what our world of guitar is really all about. The Relay G10 shows them a neat way to go wireless without the complexity and mess of a receiver and connective cables. Our new generation are talking about Bluetooth, WiFi, and other technologies that are making for fantastic wireless advantages in other markets. When they see the G10 they really engage the simplicity and coolness of such a compact device. It takes nothing to hand it off and let the student try it, too!
Between the Variax, the Spider Amps/Firehawk FX, and the wireless G10 I’ve had a blast teaching. Students are excited about lessons. They wish to learn more not just musically but about their guitars. They are asking questions and inquiring where they wouldn’t have a clue to start years ago. With their own technologically experienced little minds, they’re even offering up imaginative thoughts that could shape tomorrow’s technology, too.
The only challenge for me has been… price.
How do you get a student to invest in a $1000 Variax, $120-$300 amp, $100 wireless device, etc.? Well, the truth is, there’s only so much we as teachers can do there. In the past we’ve made comparisons to $1000 “student level” woodwinds and brass instruments. We’ve also made suggestions like, “check Craigslist…” What would be ideal is if there was a market for starter kits, or student-level models. The inexpensive Variax 300 (made in Indonesia) was a great concept in “a Variax for everyone” by offering a low-price, lower quality guitar with all of the perks of the more expensive models. Keeping smaller Spider V amps out on the market is also a great idea. Perhaps Line 6 will one day see a market in music education and offer up a package like a cheaper Variax paired with a nice Spider V (or VI?) practice amp, and some other low-range but cool wireless technology. AmpliFi is a great series, too, for beginners, but I still recommend the Spider series to students.
There’s a “basic recording” package available out there which features an inexpensive screen, Mac Mini, speakers, mics, and recording software packages all for one price of $1000 (or less.) I’d love to see something like that from our guitar makers. Offer up the dream rig for beginners to open doors for students who really want to rock out and make music without breaking their parents’ bank account. For the record… I live in a rich community full of mansion-sized monster homes with parents showing up at the school driving Teslas. Even the wealthy aren’t willing to spoil their children unless it’s truly worth it. There’s potential – I’ll continue to use Line 6 to inspire and teach future guitar pros. Maybe they’ll find a great way to tap into that market, too!
Cheers. Thanks for reading.

memories of my sprite comic nobody read
I'm not sure if I believe in the whole angel numbers thing anymore but I think they want me to reintroduce my sprite comic (saw 111 while thinking about it.) I just feel like talking about it, idk. I know nobody cares.
Barring a few standout strips I don't think Purrnout the Edgy Cat (covering my bases here, but the comic predates me meeting FP by two years, “edgy” refers to how stuff like Linkin Park and Shadow the Hedgehog is referred to as edgy) was a good comic, most of it's gags fall flat, the backgrounds and walking sprites were mostly ugly (if my more detail-oriented brother was downstairs he'd insist I do better,) and I could never get a story arc off the ground, but I only made it to kill the bore (in the description it said "updates whenever boredom strikes") and I had fun making it.
The idea was to be a sprite comic (believe me, I’d draw the comic if I were any good at drawing, but I learned my lesson from having DeviantArt) that was something of an affectionate parody of early 2000s sprite comics while avoiding a lot of the common complaints about them, also throwing in some punk/goth/emo culture. Specifically, all of it's characters were original, only one was a recolor (and his name was Recolor the Hedgehog, he was the deuteragonist and straight man, I planned to make him the only character who can't do cool superpower stuff for irony,) I didn't use backgrounds from Google Images, it didn't directly take place in the universe of something else (my idea was that it took place in a nonsense universe where every work of fiction is somehow canon, though I wanted to be pretty strict about seeing concepts and objects but never characters from other works, but other than showing Recolor losing rings, nothing ever came of it,) I tried not to mainly use reference or shock humor, and I tried to use a consistent sprite style for the characters and backgrounds (I confess to ripping effects.) I don't think it ever achieved parody of 00s sprite comics, I wanted to eventually make some stuff like DBZ-style sprite battles and teen melodrama, but I ended up making a gag-a-day strip mostly utilizing cringe comedy. At least, all the good or least bad strips are cringe comedy. I tried teen melodrama but it was mostly big lipped aligator moments that went nowhere, especially both aborted story arcs (though the latter was going to be less teen melodrama and more band melodrama.) If I reupload the comic, the arc comics won’t be reuploaded with the rest as I consider them non-canon since neither got past two strips and the first attempt would have honestly ruined the comic if it finished. I guess there were two continuous strips where Purrnout commited tax fraud (I think this predated the Yoshi meme) but I don’t see that as a story arc. Actually the first three comics were sorta a story arc but they mostly just introduced the main two, explained why Purrnout is living in an apartment (I think I needed to explain this as I intended it as a Chekrov’s Gun for a later story arc,) and made some obscure Green Day references. Maybe the arc comics could get re-added at a different place on the timeline if I felt like completing the arcs. A huge problem is that I didn’t make an outline for them tbh.
The style I settled on for the backgrounds and sprites was that of the Neo Geo Pocket Color. The panels were in either that system’s resolution or one close to it (they were tiny.) I ignored palette limitations, but so did most sprite comics.
I must admit that the title character is a self-insert fantasy to some extent, he was admittedly, like 16-year-old me but cooler. Well, not really cooler since the comic revolves around him being a loser, but he was an emancipated minor and a good punk/alt rock guitarist, both tying into my fantasies at the time, and he was a lonely emo teenager trying to not be mainstream. If I brought the comic back, I’d continue to write Purrnout as 16YO me and not as 18YO me. I’m still a loser, but my spiritual beliefs, dedication to kindness, and inconsistent attitudes towards life WOULD NOT mesh with the character. Purrnout cannot have reverence to things that control the world or talk about peace and love, he needs to be angry at the world and be a bit of a deliberately insensitive asshole to the people he doesn’t like. Sort of a much less extreme version of an incel (I identified as such at the time.) Wouldn’t call him a Mary Sue, though it’s not really my call to make since I’m the author and this is the only creative work of mine that can kinda be considered “completed” that I’m still fond of in a way. Maybe I’ll cringe someday, but not today.
There’s not much to say about Recolor the Hedgehog, he’s very much a pretty normal guy other than having nerdy interests and Purrnout as a best friend. He more or less exists to be a straight man. He was a composite of my brother and an ex-friend.
I might as well mention the comic’s other non-antagonist character since I’ve already talked about both Purrnout and Recolor. Love the Golden Retriever, a rich, smart, pretty normie girl with a Pollyanna viewpoint, a wish to heal people like Purrnout, and a crush on Recolor. She was based on a variety of girls who tried to become my friend out of pity and were nice enough but we didn’t connect. Purrnout finds her annoying, while she considers Purrnout a friend. I also introduced another one, but she was part of the first aborted attempt at an arc.
A third main character was planned as well, but she was supposed to be introduced in a story arc that I planned but never even tried to start. She wouldn’t make it into the comic if I start it up again, at least not without heavy modification, as I eventually met someone who was very similar to the character I had in mind. So similar that adding them now would look creepy.
The comic’s most common antagonist was a cat named Muffin. He was basically Chad Thundercock, probably the most shallow character in a comic that wasn’t long enough to get deep. I also introduced another character intended as an antagonist in an admittedly-hamfisted way named Felicity the Once-Golden Retriever, Love’s best friend who used to be a highly optimistic normie with a promising modelling career before Muffin cheated on her, and then became an angsty anti-society rebel who thinks cutting her hair and dying her fur darker makes her ugly. She hated Purrnout because she felt that Purrnout hadn’t suffered like she had and is moping for no reason, which annoys her. I think I was trying to do a straw feminist character minus the actual feminism, but don’t quote me on that. I had a third antagonist that I wanted to introduce, my favorite antagonist made for the comic actually, and he already cameoed, but I never ended up writing him. Maybe if I had my PC through Summer/Fall 2018 I would’ve made more (the last one was Spring 2018.)
But anyway, it doesn’t really matter. My brother was the only person who really read Purrnout, but I do remember him getting a chuckle out of it. I posted it on Tumblr (now deleted) and I got one follower, who was likely a bot. I never posted a link to it on my main Tumblr, partially because I wanted to see it gain an organic audience first (it didn’t lol) and partially because I was scared of it being seen as cringe. You may have come across it if you browsed the “sprite comic” tag on here. I know Tumblr is a bad place to host webcomics (at least if it’s the only place you’re hosting the webcomic) but it’s free, I was familiar with it, and I wasn’t making any plans to profit off of or take the comic seriously (it ran Summer 2016 - Spring 2018 and only had twenty strips.)
I’m still hesitant to bring back the comic because I honestly want to use the universe (most of it, obviously modifications would need to be made) for a video game idea I have, though that would be 10+ years in the future if I ever have credibility as a game developer since I couldn’t see myself doing that one without a team (”3D hack n’ slash platformer” is a lot harder than “2D JRPG.”) Hell, I originally made the sprite for a Zelda II clone I wanted to make with Purrnout using side mounted guns (because Shadow the Edgehog,) but for some reason, be it laziness (not wanting to re-learn Game Maker) or wanting to use the character for something more character driven, I ended up making a sprite comic instead. Another route I could do is redesigning and renaming Recolor, and removing all sprites ripped from other games, but I’m extremely hesitant to mess with Recolor’s design since his worried face is a running gag and if I did continue I’d still want to eventually make jokes that don’t work without him being a Sonic recolor.
Also, it wasn’t a furry webcomic, at least not entirely. “pet sized” (cats, dogs, wolves, foxes, etc.) characters would stand on fours while characters of much smaller or much larger stature (cows, hedgehogs,) than that would be anthropomorphic.

Must Read Marketing and Blogging Advice for Wedding Planners
I have followed Mark Kingsdorf’s career for a number of years and have always been impressed with his wisdom, natural marketing instincts, authenticity, and his ability to successfully pivot his career in the industry to fit his ideal lifestyle. With over 40 years in the hospitality and event industries, Mark has a very unique perspective and offers a wealth of knowledge.
After running a highly successful event planning business and working at prominent event venues, Mark currently runs Wedding Ghost which offers ghost blogging, content-based web marketing, and freelance writing for the wedding, events, and hospitality industries.
I have asked Mark to share his best marketing and blogging advice for wedding professionals, and more specifically, for wedding planners.
Top Blogging and Marketing Advice for Wedding Planners
How, when, and why did you get started in the wedding industry?
In 1998 I was a partner in a restaurant and catering business and HATED having business partners. A photographer friend had a client that was having issues with their reception venue and asked if I could talk to them. I worked with the couple and the venue and helped craft a solution that they both loved. They all looked at me and asked: “Why aren’t you doing this for a living?” And the rest is history.
I did some research, sold my share in the restaurant, and in early 2000 I joined the Association of Bridal Consultants and networked with our state manager in Pennsylvania. I assisted her on some weddings and registered my business name with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
I worked part-time with a bridal salon and flower shop while waiting tables and launching the business. I knew I had a strong food, beverage, and catering background, but needed to work on my knowledge of gowns, veils, headpieces, and floral; I can still bustle a wedding gown blindfolded.
What has been your career path in the events industry?
When my husband and I made the decision to sell my event planning business in Pennsylvania and move to Florida, I sold my business to a decorator in our market that I had a tremendous personal and professional relationship with.
When we relocated to central Florida, I thought I would work for Disney in Catering or Events. After reviewing their volume and wedding packages, I knew it wasn’t my style. Instead, I accepted an hourly position with Park Event Operations and Disney Catered Events. Neither job was full time and I eventually decided to take a Wedding Sales Managers position at a local family owned resort.
I worked at Mission Inn Resort for a little over three years, starting as Wedding Sales Manager and then as Director, overseeing wedding sales and service including most marketing and social media related to weddings.
When we made the decision to move to St. Pete to be closer to the beach and my husband’s job, I was blogging part-time for a few friends and decided that blogging and writing full time offered me the opportunity to have a flexible schedule and enjoy more time with my husband and traveling. It utilizes my experience in weddings, events, and catering, as well as the connections I’ve made over several decades.
What do you wish you knew when you first started in the industry as a wedding planner?
I wish I completely understood the concept of outward perception versus inward reality.
Even before we had social media, I looked at the ‘propaganda’ people were marketing and never realized that their level of service, attention to detail, and business profitability were not nearly what they portrayed.
What mistakes have you made?
I initially only took on as many weddings as I could personally handle and referred overflow to other planners. I later found out colleagues were promoting people from being interns one week to taking on full-service weddings the next, and they weren’t NEARLY as good as my wedding assistants.
That was the point where I decided to grow my wedding team and have them take on Wedding Day Direction. They still assisted me on weddings, and I groomed each of them to do full-service planning and to take on the role of lead planner. I wish I had done it sooner because I had a fantastic team who got rave reviews from the venues and professionals we worked with. (Helpful article: Types of Services Offered By Wedding Planners)
Why is blogging important and what is a ghost blogger?
When I owned The Queen of Hearts Wedding Consultants, we blogged a minimum of once a week. Part of it was to brand the business and showcase our work. It was also a great way to showcase our team so people felt comfortable working with them and not just me. Blogging was a really affordable way to market the business and build visibility in a growing internet. We were consistently on page one of Google for various search terms and remained there.
I knew blogging worked but also saw that planners and other wedding professionals didn’t have time to write, did not like to write, or opted out because they didn’t know what to write about. Too many were (are) posting pretty wedding pictures with little or no text in their blog posts. Or, if they were blogging, they were not including SEO rich text or they did not consistently blog, so they saw no benefits and quit blogging.
As a ghost blogging service, I offer blogging services at a few levels. If you are already blogging and don’t see any search engine visibility or your search engine ranking is not improving, I offer blog consulting. This includes an evaluation with written analysis plus tips on improving your blogging. It’s a big help to many people if they have time to blog on their own and need direction and focus.
Most of my clients hire me for ghost blogging. They share images of their real weddings (or other work) and I create weekly content for them and post it directly to their blogging portal. It is rich in keywords and phrases to help search engines find them. I include descriptions of images, key search terms couples are using,  hyperlinks, strong photos titles, and adding ALT tags. Because of my background, it’s all pretty turn-key. I can come up with new content beyond real weddings to help brand businesses in their market.
Many of my blogging clients have hired me to create new content for their website, or to do a little refresh and get them better SEO; so now I offer that as a separate service.
Most of my clients are small businesses and all of the services are surprisingly affordable. Because I’ve owned a small business, I am flexible with payment plans that work for entrepreneurs.
What are the top blogging mistakes that wedding professionals make?
Inconsistency. You cannot blog once a month and expect to see any results.  Potential clients who check back and don’t see anything new will move on.
A LOT of wedding professionals post images of their work and call it a blog. Search engines cannot read images, and unfortunately, no one is renaming their blog photos correctly or adding ALT tags.  Without text and properly names images, the blog post basically has no SEO value at all.
People don’t include text that couples are searching for in their blog post. It’s not just a “beach wedding”, it’s a “sunset beach wedding ceremony on St. Lucia”.
People are not being geographically specific. If you only use “wedding planner” in your story, you are now lumped in with any wedding planner anywhere in the world.  Couples are searching phrases like “Philadelphia wedding planner” and your business is not going to show up unless you are using geographic specific text.
Name dropping in blogging is a good thing. Talking about the venues and vendors you work with and linking to them helps to build backlinks to your website.  When someone searches that venue, your blog post mentioning and linking to them will pop up.
Why do wedding and event planners need to be blogging AND what topics are most important to blog about?
Millennials want to be able to search for you and easily find out about your business, personality, services, and reviews.  Blogging gives them all of that in one place.
Consistently adding fresh new curated content that is rich in search terms helps search engines find you and increases the frequency that your business will show up in the results of a potential client’s web search.
You can control the dialogue about your business and your branding through your blog posts.
Blogging creates excellent content to share on social media. With the right tools in your blogging platform, readers can pin and share your blogs which creates more online visibility for your business.
For wedding planners and most other professionals, real weddings are huge, but things like team profiles and REALLY letting potential couples connect with you lend credibility and build connections. Mixing in tips and trends, client reviews, upcoming wedding events, and community involvement are all great topics to blog about for wedding planners that will help build your brand.
What is your prediction for the future of blogging?
With the increasing costs of major wedding portals, blogging is becoming even more critical. Consistently feeding search engines and building your own links makes your business visible.
People do business with people they feel they know, like, and trust. Blogging opens that door to authentically show your work, personality, and experience.
Many wedding professionals don’t update their wedding galleries often. Blogging allows potential clients to see recent images of your work, pin those images to their own Pinterest boards, and share the images of their venue and wedding design ideas with family and friends. These details are HUGE with couples planning weddings.
What marketing advice can you share specifically for wedding planners?
Don’t be afraid to let people into your world.
I had many brides and moms come through my door grateful that I had opened up about losing my mom to breast cancer, and the work I did with cancer charities. Being a foodie and talking about that attracted couples who were really into unique restaurant quality food and wanted my help in doing that. Don’t be afraid to share who you are.
I had a sign in my office (and I have said this 1,000 times):
“It NEVER gets any better than the first meeting.”
This applies to hiring staff and meeting with other professionals you might refer to, but it REALLY applies to clients. Too many wedding planners want every couple that walks through the door.
Not all business is good business.
If that high maintenance wedding couple is going to suck the life out of you, you might have to turn away three other weddings because you just don’t have the time. Or worse yet, your attitude from dealing with them might taint the next client call you receive and turn them off.

Is Britain's Hyperloop a pipeline dream? Satisfy the individuals behind the UK's futuristic transport effort
ondon to Edinburgh in half an hour. Manchester to London in 18 minutes. London to Stoke in 14 minutes. This is the pledge of the Hyperloop, a futuristic mode of transport that was very first developed by billionaire Elon Musk.As the story goes, Musk was late for a speaking appearance back in 2012 when the concept for a "5th mode of transport" struck him. A year later, he released a 57-page plan describing a transportation system made up of levitating pods that can take a trip at speeds of as much as 700mph in a vacuum. Rather than establishing his own business and moneying the moon shot concept, Musk proposed a competition and required entrants to begin working on the project. The relocation ran out character for Musk, whose other extreme ideas have led him to discovered SpaceX and Tesla however he gave up the germ of an idea to a host of scholastic and private researchers.
The competitors has actually spawned thousands of start-ups and research groups worldwide. From the Silicon Valley venture-backed Hyperloop One, which has actually raised $160m to this day, to the internet group rLoop, engineers who satisfied on Reddit and have actually developed a model with $100,000 and a membership to the messaging service Slack.
bout 60 organisations have actually been welcomed to check their models on the SpaceX test track, and the UK has two rivals in the race to develop a working prototype.anchester-based Ilyas Vali was among the
charter member of rLoop, which Musk has invited to show on the SpaceX test track this weekend. The University of Edinburgh has backed a trainee group called HypEd, which is taking part in a 2nd round competition on Sunday following the rLoop presentation. Vali's interest in the Hyperloop started in 2013 when he checked out the white paper
on a train from Manchester to London. It was 2013 and he made the two and a half hour journey two times a week as part of his function as director of energy firm Touch Solar. Ilyas Vali working
on rLoop's prototype pod Credit: rLoop"The idea for a quick train was remarkable but the completion time for the HS2 path I
desired to take was 2035 and the journey time would have been cut by just about 40 minutes, "states Vali."I read Elon Musk's white paper and believed 'If you're going to invest billions of pounds and years developing a much faster and possibly less expensive transport service, you might also utilize new innovation'."fter struggling to form a UK-based team, Vali ended up being one of the founding members of rLoop, a group of engineers, designers and innovation professionals from 59 countries who have established their prototype over Slack. The neighborhood has drawn in hundreds of individuals since it was established in 2015 out of a Reddit thread about Musk's proposition. "As we acquired traction more people became aware of rLoop and wanted to sign up with,"states Vali."Today we are a global organisation from 59 countries
with more than 2,000 engineers. "T he members work on the project as volunteers in their extra time. In addition to his full-time task at Sustainable Equity, the 37-year-old Vali invests up to 60
hours a week on rLoop."It's a full-time job," he says. However he does not mind." It resembles Elon Musk: he separated from his better half since he was just working a lot of hours, which is great.
" rLoop employee working on the pod Credit: rLoop r Loop has actually raised about $100,000 through
its sponsors and a crowdfunding project, which has actuallybeen put to building its prototype.
Its model pod is the first to levitate exterior of the SpaceX tube in a standing position. Vali states rLoop has actually formed a collaboration with a leading UK producer to establish a Hyperloop tube." Adam Anyszewski was just 19 when Musk published his proposal. However the engineering student, now 23, declares he and his daddy had talked about the principle a years in the past."At the age of 10 or 12 my daddy and I discussed super-fast travel in tubes, "states Anyszewski.< span itemprop=image itemscope itemtype =https://schema.org/ImageObject >< meta itemprop =url material= http://www.telegraph.co.uk/content/dam/video_previews/x/2/x2nxc1yze6sdupuismtwgbymvmzcyjd--xlarge.jpg >< img width=320 height=179 alt="Hyperloop pod takes a trip 192mph in maiden journey"data-frz-ratio=1.78 src=http://www.telegraph.co.uk/content/dam/video_previews/x/2/x2nxc1yze6sdupuismtwgbymvmzcyjd--small.jpg data-frz-src-array="[ x, x, content, x, 2, x] > Hyperloop pod takes a trip 192mph in maiden journey W hen Musk required competitors entries in 2015, Anyszewski, who is from a small village in central Poland, remained in his 2nd year of an electrical and mechanical

About 25 work on HypEd full-time. Like Vali, Anyszewski works on the job alongside his research studies, typically investing a minimum of 20 hours a week and in some cases up to 60 hours on it. "
It's busy as hell,"he says."My sweetheart loves me however she dislikes the project."The University of Edinburgh has actually funnelled ₤ 30,000 into HypEd, matched by a more ₤ 30,000 from other supporters. HypEd is intending to double this financial investment next year as it establishes its prototype."Our pod begins on tiny wheels and then it takes off. As long as it's moving the levitation system will never ever fail. In case of a power cut or some failure it will continue moving,"says Anyszewski." We have magnets that are literally efficient in crushing skulls."< div itemscope itemtype =https://schema.org/ImageObject data-frz-ancestor > Adam Anyszewski, president of HypEd Credit: HypEd T he scaled-down prototype is designed to reach speeds of as much as 360kmph, but Anyszewski is
n't planning to strike that this weekend."If we get it to autonomously
start, levitate and brake securely with grace and self-respect, without crashing or blowing up, I believe I may cry,"he states. Earlier this month, Musk stated he had federal government approval to construct a tube network in between Washington DC and New York City for a Hyperloop that will take a trip at 600mph. R eclaiming Musk's stake in the venture, his tunnelling firm, the Boring Business, then devoted to building a tunnel between the 2 US cities. It was recently offered approval for a test tunnel 44ft under Los
Angeles. It is still unclear if it is the future of transport. However the organisations completing for Musk's approval are devoted to making it work.< span itemprop= image itemscope itemtype=https://schema.org/ImageObject >
Elon Musk's rise to popularity in 90 seconds yperloop groups are infamously competitive. Vali and Anyszewski concur on two things: the end goal and how to react to sceptics. Neither is that concerned by the idea that the Hyperloop will never materialise, and both state they are working on it out of enthusiasm instead of for loan. And they both have the same action to doubters."Imagine we're having a conversation 100 years earlier and me stating 'we're attempting to establish something that will fly like a bird and review oceans in hours rather of months'," states Vali. "You would have been baffled."

Make Time Count By Understanding the 2 Forms of Time
Day 2 of 80 Days of Excellence
From the Cool Cat Teacher Blog by Vicki Davis
Follow @coolcatteacher on Twitter
The most significant thing that has happened to me over the past ten years is how I’ve learned look at using time. Yesterday, as I sat on the couch at Dad’s birthday party yesterday talking to a dear friend, Cara. She is a bit younger than me, however, is grappling with getting older. As I shared this with her, it resonated. So, I thought as I pursue this 80 days of excellence, it is worth sharing.
This post is day 2 of 80 days of excellence. I’ve created an email list below for those of you want to be emailed the full posts written as part of this series.
When we talk about time management, we most often mean list and appointment making. Indeed, there are things we must do. When you’re a Mom of children, those lists can be rather long. Same for teachers or leaders or creatives.
But those people who are genuinely excellent are those who make moments. As my pastor, Michael Catt, always
  says,
“walk slowly through the crowd for everyone has a hurt.”
I’m finding that slow crowd walking whether I’m at school or an event or church is an essential aspect of seeking meaningful moments. But there’s more.
Making Time Memorable and Meaningful
I could live a life of accomplishing a million to-do’s and leave nothing memorable behind.
One of two confirmed photos of Abraham Lincoln (highlighted in the sepia color) at Gettysburg taken just about noon. Via Wikipedia.
I think the best examples of this kind of time excellence are two speeches given at Gettysburg on November 19, 1863. That month 51,000 soldiers were killed on that battlefield. So, United States officials gathered to consecrate a cemetery on that site.
The Most Memorable Speech at Gettysburg Wasn’t From the Keynote Speaker
That day, a famous orator, Edward Everett, was the keynote speaker. He stood up and spoke to the crowd for 117 minutes – wowing even Abraham Lincoln.
Abraham Lincoln stood and spoke for 2 ½ minutes, and it resonated through history.
What was the difference? What made one speech forgettable even though delivered with flowery perfection? Why was a short statement so memorable although simple?
As a speaker, I find so many people are obsessed with being the keynote that they miss their opportunity to introduce someone or give an inspiring remark.
Fleeting Opportunities at Opportune Moments
And that, my friends, is Kairos time that we’re discussing in this post. A moment in time not defined by all checkboxes and fancy schmanzy ruffles and feathers people say you need to have to be “excellent.”
Sometimes the greatest moments of our lives are a simple opportunity seized at the right moment.
Being memorable. Leaving a legacy. Being life changing. This sort of excellence is born out of our ability to use time well. But what is time and how do we know how to spend it well?
Don’t we want to do things in life that matter and not just do things?
How do we understand the two forms of time?
In ancient Greek, there are two words used for time: chronos and kairos. As we dig into these two concepts, we see two aspects of our time management to balance as work to be more excellent.
Chronos Time: The Clock
So, chronos time is what you’re used to. According to the Greek, the name for sequential time. Named after the Greek god, Chronos, who was and three-headed being with the head of a man, a snake, and a lion — chronos is the ticking time we’re used to.
Chronos is a snake because it deceives you into devaluing its importance and a lion because when it runs out on you, it kills you. And chronos is a man because as Booker T Washington in his autobiography Up From Slavery says,
“The number of people who stand ready to consume one’s time, to no purpose, is almost countless.”
Chronos is important because we do need to get tasks done.
Being trustworthy with tasks is important
I’ve found that now more than ever when people say they’ll do something, most of us don’t believe that person. Unless they are one of those few people who their yes is yes and their no is no.
Those who master chronos are people of integrity who can be trusted. They may not always have the title or prestige, chronos masterers are the person holding the reigns of organizations throughout the world.
Lee Cockerell, 10 year VP of Walt Disney World resorts says,
“Someday, ASAP, and when I get time… is not a system.”
Chronos masters have a system and get things DONE.
Admittedly, all of us only get 24 hours in a day. There have been times I felt like my over commitment was a form of greed and not a good thing. And sometimes chronos list-making kept me from throwing my list out the window and doing what was really important.
Action item: Do you have a task system that works? When you make appointments and promises do people know you will keep them? If not, what do you need to do so that your “yes” is your “yes” and your “no” is your “no”?
Kairos Time: Making Moments that Matter
However, there is more to time than endless lists, appointments, and to do’s. Meet kairos. I’ve gone through periods in my life when I have scheduled every single moment. Because, as Michael Hyatt says, “what gets scheduled gets done.”
Undoubtedly, though, you can do every small thing and never do the one thing you were meant to do with your life or your day. Kairos is that moment. Kairos means
“the right, critical, or opportune moment.”
In modern Greek it means
“weather.”
Timeless moments
Quite literally Kairos can be those once in a lifetime chances. Those things that you must stop and seize and smell and savor for they will be gone.
There’s something transcendent about kairos time.
For example, I remember the moment when Pastor Harris Malcolm said,
“I now wish to introduce to you Mrs. and Mrs. Kip Davis.”
I have no idea what time it was on the clock. Because, for our wedding, time stopped for me. I wasn’t thinking. It was an eternal moment in time when I married the love of my life, and he married me. Our wedding may have been an appointment and had lots of to do’s but at that moment – it was Kairos.
Yet, weddings don’t happen every day. So, how can we bring this to each day?
Kairos time in the day of a teacher
As a teacher, for example, I think this is particularly important. Great teachers have a way of stopping time (chronos) and making special moments happen (kairos) that become unforgettable in a person’s memory.
Mrs. Adkins spent time in fourth grade talking about this beautiful Van Gogh. It has led to an appreciation of art throughout my life. I remember the moment even if I don’t remember the specific time.
The day my fourth-grade teacher, Mrs. Grace Adkins, stopped time and taught us about Starry Night by Van Gogh.
Or, the time Dr. Adler in college looked at me and told me he wasn’t giving me an A unless it was my best. He said he could care less if I was better than everyone else in the class if it wasn’t my very best, I didn’t deserve an A.
Or the time Invenue Love-Stanley, Georgia’s first African American female architect and co-designer of the Olympic Natatorium at Georgia Tech taught me about finding balance as an adult woman. (I need to write about that in another post.)
I couldn’t name the date or time of those moments, but I remember the moments with every bit of clarity as if it happened seconds ago. They were kairos moments.
In my classroom
And that is what I want to have. The moment when I turned to a girl who didn’t care for her last name and gave her a new nickname that she loved. Those moments that kids tell you about years later when they stood a little taller or thought about life a bit differently.
Sometimes it is telling someone hard things, and sometimes it is helping them believe good things.
Here are some of my students in Mumbai meeting other students. Traveling with students creates many opportunities for kairos moments, but you must not be in such a rush to get to the next place that you miss the opportunity you can only seize once.
Sometimes it happens all the way across a world when you’re standing beside a student on the Great Wall of China, and a man comes out of the guardhouse with a Coca-Cola and a Snicker bar.
Sometimes it is when a child has just learned bad news, and you’re the first shoulder they run to in the schoolhouse.
Kairos.
Moments that must be seized like sunny weather and a breeze to sail a boat.
How can we find kairos moments each day?
Each day, I ask myself a few questions.  (see yesterday’s post) Because I’m pretty organized and have more problems getting off the list, I’m asking myself this question:
“What Kairos moments am I pursuing today?”
Yesterday, on the first day of this journey, the application of kairos to my life was astounding. While I’m not at liberty to talk about what happened, here’s the overview. As I was journaling about kairos opportunity, someone had a need and texted me.
It was a hard thing – something I didn’t want to do but something that I will never forget that was the right thing.
It interrupted all of my chronos (time) tasks, but it was the one kairos (memory) that needed to be done and made.
Action item: Are you missing opportunities to connect with people in deeper ways? Is your to-do list getting in the way of who you want to be? What questions can you ask yourself now in order to look for kairos moments every day?
What is the difference between kairos and chronos?
Daniel Henderson in his book The Deeper Life gives a fantastic explanation of these two words chronos and kairos,
“Chronos is quantitative. Kairos is qualitative. The difference between these two words is the difference between a minute and a moment. A minute is measured by seconds, or by a clock. The experience and opportunity make up a moment.”
Can one lead to the other?
I’ve talked about the mudpuddle principle before. A young boy who stands on the edge of a mud puddle is probably going in. Likewise, we can, through our daily chronos habits, position ourselves near kairos opportunities.
For example, as a teacher, I’m surrounded by children. I have lots of opportunities to make a difference, but I’ve found if I can be in the hallway before and after school, I’m positioning myself for moments to happen — kairos moments.
Traveling is another excellent opportunity for these life-changing moments if you can make that happen.
If you work in a homeless shelter and can interact with others, you can position yourself for kairos moments. You could also just scrub dishes – and while that’s a service — the “walking slowly through the crowd” habit I mentioned earlier is a mud puddle principle.
When you interact and pay attention to others, you’ll find yourself crossing from chronos to kairos ever more frequently. When you work with those who have many and deep needs, you are positioning yourself for these moments.
Chronos time management is obsessed with saving time. Kairos is about savoring it.
Simply put, we need both to be excellent. We must:
Organize our lives to get the right things done on time,
Know when it is the right time to put down the list and seize a moment that matters,
Discern when people are wasting our time with pointless pursuits, and
Recognize when a once in a moment opportunity has arisen to make a difference.
I do not wish to waste my life checking off a million frivolous to-dos and not do the one thing I was put here to do. So, I constantly check to see if what I’m doing matters.
That would not be excellent at all.
Here’s to divine appointments and kairos opportunities that present themselves once and flit away like a Monarch butterfly on a fall breeze.
How will you spend kairos time today? Will you manage your chronos time efficiently? If we can get better at understanding and doing both of these, I think we can all live a more excellent life.

Best Selling Products for Online Business Owners
The blog post Best Selling Products for Online Business Owners is from heartmade.es.
Hi flower!
This week I’m talking about Best Selling Products for Online Businesses. I’ve been thinking a lot about it lately and I decided to do a video (my very first video recording myself talking…) to give you my advice and help for your online businesses.
So in this video I’m talking about:
The most incredible fact I discovered about best selling products online
How you can take advantage of that
How to not repeat my mistakes
How important they are for your branding
Ready? Here you have the video:
If you want me to help you find you ideal clients (aka butterflies), I just need your name & email and I’ll send you all my tips. Find out more about how to join my garden of blooming businesses, or just fill this form: Now, for the ones who like better reading than listening or watching…
1. There will always be a best seller:
I still feel impressed by this fact, but it keeps happening to me. The first time was when we created Heartmade Soaps. It was my first “serious” time opening an Etsy shop and what we enjoyed the most was creating the concept behind each collection.
Because I’m crazy about travels, I wanted to have a soap collection inspired by places around the world… And one of the products was a deep purple-fuchsia soap smelling like India.
We took an amazing photo of it and we designed the tag and the wrapping as we did for all the rest of our soaps.
And guess what? That product sold much more than any other! Why? I guess it’s because the photo was so bright and stunning that people felt tempted to smell that weird soap
Then the second time I had an experience with a “best seller” product was when I quit my job and started creating handmade products again. At that moment I was learning how to sew, so I started with the basics: pencil cases.
I went to my favorite shop and found a fabric perfect for me: a colorful world map atlas.
I couldn’t do anything else than buying it (even though it was 5 times more expensive than the average fabric price).
Then I took also a great picture of the pencil case and two days before my birthday I made the first sale of my map pencil case. From there, things kept growing until years after when I was so bored of that product that I even did not wanted to renovate the item in Etsy to avoid dealing with sewing it again.
Yes, I know I should had hired someone to sew it for me but I’ve always been against stock…
Anyway, continuing with my examples of bestsellers: When I launched my kimono line, this two were the best sellers: they both are neutral and appealing to both men and women. I found other fabrics from the same collections and bought them to create new products and they sold perfectly too.
I could keep telling you examples, but I’m gonna try to make it quick because I don’t want to bore you with my stories…
You may be thinking this only happens with physical products but no… From my watercolor desktop wallpaper, there’s also a best seller: this one.
And from my wedding stationery suites too. Here you have it:
And from my digital clip arts… this one: http://ift.tt/2mREOBa
So yes, that’s the first fact I wish I knew before starting selling products, because knowing that you can be clever and take advantage of the situation, which is the next point of my list.
2. Take advantage from your best sellers:
What I wish I would have done before, back in my Etsy days, is to create a full collection of products from my best selling map pencil case.
It’s not a mystery. Actually, all my friends, boyfriend and family kept telling me to do it and I kept ignoring them…
Why?
Because I was blind by my passion and creativity. I have a huge problem: I get tired of things very quickly. I’m always searching for new ideas, always want to try something new… And working on new products using the same fabric all over again was against my happiness.
Then few years after I discovered several brands doing what I was supposed to do. There was an infinity of products made from “my” best selling fabric.
But of course I don’t blame them. I admire them!
They were clever, they saw an opportunity and took advantage of it.
I couldn’t even prove that I started using the fabric before or think that they saw my success and tried to imitate it… Thinking like that would be so naif… The fabric was there, at the most famous fabric store in Barcelona, ready to buy and use.
So they had simply more success than me because they put their business before their hearts.
But hey! I’m not sad for that, I know myself and what I’m always ultimately looking for is my happiness… So I knew that in that moment creating new things with different fabrics was my happiness, and I chose that, and I’m happy for that
Buuuuut I still want to tell you that story because if you want to do things right, then I recommend you to not follow my steps. If I could talk with my self me 4 years ago I would tell me:
“Claudia, listen to everybody. Please find few hours and create 3-4 new products. You can enjoy it a lot! Think about designing new patterns, searching for the materials you need, getting inspired by styled photography… You will love it more than you think, come on! Let’s do it together!”
And actually, two or three years after I finally did it. I created an iPad sleeve, a clutch and a wallet from the same fabric. And guess what? I got featured in ELLE Magazine and many other magazines and blogs just for those products!
So yes, my friend… Listen to me and try to take advantage of your best selling products
Now is your turn to take action:
Brainstorm and list ideas for new product creations following your best seller strongest points. It might be using the same fabric or design as I did with my pencil case, or it could be finding similar materials like I did with my kimonos, or just follow the same design style like I did with my wedding invitations.
Take your agenda or planner and find a spot to create 3 new products. Then take stunning pictures and share them with me! I can’t wait to see your new line
3. It’s all about the branding:
I can’t say this is a mistake I did because my designer veins always pushed me to do it… But I see many handmade & online businesses ignoring the fact that their brand must be as stunning and original as their products.
The best thing you can do is find out what’s making your best selling products so appealing to your clients and make it part of your branding.
I want you to understand that the most important thing in a brand is to know your ideal client, or (how I like to call him) your butterflies.
If you have no idea of what I’m talking about I recommend you to join my free course on how to find your ideal butterflies.
For me, you are like a plant. Your business is a flower and your clients are butterflies.
Are you ready to find more butterflies?
The first step is to know how well do you know your butterflies, and you can do it using my checklist.
Fill out this form and you’ll be ready to download my checklist!
Can’t wait to help you find more butterflies and bloom your business
xo,
Claudia

E3 2017 is over. The dust has finally settled. Now that we have had time to take in all the information and form a decent opinion on the games showcased, we are finally ready to present to you our Best of Show top 10. Maybe you’ll agree, maybe you’ll have a completely different opinion on the games we like and love. Just let us know what you think about our chart and maybe our GamesCom 2017 top 10 will look a bit different.
In general, it was a decent E3 this year. We might have seen less of the titles we wanted to see, more than enough of the titles we wished didn’t exist and were even surprised to see titles we didn’t even knew existed. All and all we now know that there are still more than enough enjoyable games scheduled to release on home console this year and maybe even a few sleeper hits we didn’t see coming. Next year. Well, next year will be even better if we have to trust the release schedules. Obviously.
1. Mario & Rabbids: Kingdom Battle [Switch]
While the big guys Sony and Microsoft tried to out-perform their rival, Ubisoft delivered probably their best show in years. No Aisha was Kudo number one, and then they announced some really nice fresh IP’s like Skull & Bones and Starlink. Hell, at the end of the show they even showed a teaser for the long-awaited Beyond Good & Evil 2. But the real surprise was a game nobody was waiting for to happen: Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. Yves Guillemot took the E3 2017 stage and put on an awkward performance with no other than Mr. Miyamoto himself.
#gallery-0-17 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-17 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-17 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-17 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
The Ubisoft mascots team up with Mario and his friends in this turn-based-strategy game, in order to defeat all the Raving Rabbids and save the world. Mario + Rabbids roam the stages and confront their enemies in a mode that just is Xcom, and that is a really good move by Ubisoft Paris and Milan studios. Everybody carries a gun or weapon of choice and can make one move per turn. So you’ll want to get behind cover and shoot from the perfect spot.
The characters in your team each have different weapons they carry, and special abilities with a cooldown timer. The combat starts off relatively easy, but soon you’ll be introduced to complex Xcom tactics and use your alley as a trampoline to move twice as far.
#gallery-0-18 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-18 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-18 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-18 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Although Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle sounds like the biggest mistake in the gaming industry this year, personally I think it’s the best we were shown at E3 2017. You can buy the game from August 29th 2017 and it also comes as Limited Edition alongside some nice statues of those crazy Rabbids.
2. Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom [PS4, PC]
We were huge fans of the first Ni no Kuni game on Playstation 3 and were kinda hoping for a remastered version on Playstation 4 to be announced during the show. Well, there’s always hope for next year. Even though Bandai failed to announce a much wanted remaster at E3 2017, they did show us some more of the game’s sequel.
During the show, a new trailer was released and Sony even showcased a 9-minute gameplay video and interview for the game after the media briefing. Below you will find both the latest Kingsbond trailer and the gameplay video, followed by some information from Bandai Namco about the game. Are you looking forward to this new Ni No Kuni adventure? To become a rightful leader and develop his kingdom, Evan will first have to forge a Kingsbond with a unique creature called the Kingmaker. Watch the new Kingsbond trailer below:
Story and Gameplay
In the world of Ni No Kuni II, players enter the Kingdom of Ding Dong Dell, where cats, mice, and humans once lived in harmony. After a treacherous coup, Evan, the young boy king of Ding Dong Dell is forced to flee his kingdom. Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom recounts the story of this deposed king and his journey to build his own kingdom and unite the entire world. Supporting Evan on his adventure will be friends he meets along his journey including Roland, a visitor from another world, and Tani, the daughter of the leader of sky pirates.
Players will encounter even more characters to join Evan throughout his quest including natural phenomena known as Higgledies. The Higgledies will provide invaluable support during battles including offensive and defensive buffs, increasing special attack power for Evan and his friends, and assist in attacking enemies. Join Evan on his quest as he fights powerful monsters, face perilous dungeons, and rises to once again become a king. Check out brand new gameplay, including combat, from Playstation’s after show below:
The game launches on PlayStation 4 and PC on November 10th 2017 and hopefully, Bandai Namco will announce an awesome Collector’s Edition or White PS4 Pro console (like with PS3) as well.
3. Monster Hunter World [PS4, PC, Xbox One]
Monster Hunter: World is considered a main game in the Monster Hunter series, according to the game’s producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and co-director Yuya Tokuda. Tokuda and co-director Kaname Fujioka were also directors for Monster Hunter 4 and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. Development of World started about three years prior to the E3 2017 reveal, following a year of brainstorming on what the next main game in the series would be. Capcom re-evaluated where they wanted to take the series (since is exists for over a decade), and realized that with the hardware capabilities of the new consoles, they could realize a different vision compared to the handheld or WiiU versions.
Tsujimoto said that past games typically had arcane rules, and the zoned area structure made each zone feel isolated and wanted to change that approach. They have also wanted to implement living worlds and ecosystems, with complex artificial intelligence interactions between monsters and the environment but have been limited in the past by handheld gaming hardware. The team determined that they would pursue highly-detailed worlds that felt realistic, eliminating the disconnected zoned-map approach. This created a “ripple effect” of changes in gameplay; for example, elimination of loading screens meant players could not use the tactic of jumping to a different zone to heal in safety and thus allowed players to drink healing potions while walking. Tokuda noted that with these changes, the pace of the game also became quicker.
#gallery-0-19 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-19 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-19 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-19 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Designed for the West.
Fujioka responded to some criticism of the Western-driven changes to the game, that they were not trying to make the game easier just to drive sales. “We’re not taking things that people in the west hate and fixing them to make Western players buy it. People sometimes make that assumption, or they’ve got that fear, but that’s not the case at all.” He continued “The new gameplay has to mesh with the new concept or else it would just be a mess.” Tsujimoto also said that as they have been working on the series for more than a decade, they are aware of what fans expect of a Monster Hunter title, saying “we want Monster Hunter fans to feel like this is a Monster Hunter game through and through when they play it”.
The subtitle World alludes to many facets of the game’s design changes from past Monster Hunter games: it reflects that the game will have a worldwide simultaneous release, that it will be playing on worldwide servers rather than segmented by region, that the maps are no longer connected zones but wide-open worlds, and that these maps represent living worlds. Capcom opted not to use a numerical title, such Monster Hunter 5, as that would give the impression that players needed to have completed other titles in the series to play this one.
Overall
With connected areas of the map, more accessible combat system and 4-player online play this Monster Hunter title seems to have all the right ingredients to do well not only in Asia but worldwide. Striking a monster with my friends could become the best PS4 experience I’ll have next year. I do hope they can implement some awesome matchmaking system, so we can make new hunter friends all over the globe. And maybe a photo mode to snap a selfie with your catch 😉 We’ll just have to wait and see because there will probably be a lot more Monster Hunter World at PSX in December!
#gallery-0-20 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-20 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-20 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-20 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
4. The Last Night [PC, Xbox One]
The soul of a cinematic platformer and the heart of a sci-fi thriller, The Last Night is set in a post-cyberpunk world with a deep, vibrant vision of the future. This visually striking game just is the best indie title of E3 2017 for us.
The Last Night is what we call post-cyberpunk – it’s not the kind of dystopia the genre is famous for, rather it depicts an alternate direction for society. One where the fight for survival doesn’t mean food and water, but a purpose for living. Human labor and creativity have been rendered obsolete by AI, so people are now defining themselves by what they consume, not what they create.
Charlie is a lower-class citizen who can’t interface with the systems and augmentations of the world around him, due to an accident during his childhood. He’s a citizen of the thriving metropolis and yet he’ll never be a part of it. Then, a chance encounter offers him the chance to be part of something else and take matters into his own hands.
5. Spider-Man [PS4]
Starring one of the world’s most iconic Super Heroes, Spider-Man features the acrobatic abilities, improvisation and web-slinging that the wall-crawler is famous for, while also introducing elements never-before-seen in a Spider-Man game. From traversing with parkour and unique environmental interactions to new combat and cinematic blockbuster set pieces, it’s Spider-Man unlike any you’ve played before.
Sony Interactive Entertainment, Insomniac Games, and Marvel have teamed up to create a brand-new and authentic Spider-Man adventure. This isn’t the Spider-Man you’ve met before, or seen in a movie. This is an experienced Peter Parker who’s more masterful at fighting big crime in New York City. At the same time, he’s struggling to balance his chaotic personal life and career while the fate of millions of New Yorkers rests upon his shoulders.
6. YS VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana [PS4]
Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is a Japanese action role-playing game developed and published by the Nihon Falcom Corporation and the eighth installment in the Ys video game series. It was released in Japan in July 2016 for the Sony PlayStation Vita and for the PlayStation 4 on May 25, 2017.On February 17, 2017, a worldwide release was announced for PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft Windows set for fall 2017; however, rather than being published by long-time partners Xseed Games, Ys VIII will be published by NIS America.
7. Uncharted: Lost Legacy [PS4]
Watch the all-new story trailer for UNCHARTED: The Lost Legacy—a new adventure from acclaimed developer Naughty Dog coming August 22 to the PlayStation 4. In order to find an ancient Indian artifact, Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross must venture deep into the Western Ghats mountains, discover the lost cities of the Hoysala Empire, and face the ruthless warmonger Asav.
  8. Dragonball Fighter Z [PS4, PC, Xbox ONE]
Dragon Ball FighterZ is coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC early 2018. Developed by Arc System Works, get ready for 3VS3 2D fighting and the best graphics yet. Look forward to a Closed BETA on Xbox One and PS4 before the end of the summer and stay tuned because more info will be coming soon.
9. A Way Out [PS4, PC, Xbox ONE]
A Way Out offers something for everyone – may it be lean back or intense gameplay moments, action, adventure, exploration, puzzles, chase, stealth. Discover More: http://x.ea.com/33015
The narrative keeps you on your toes, offering a fresh, unique and compelling experience throughout. Get a unique look into the character’s personal lives and their driving motivations through their interaction with others as strong cinematic moments tie the plot together and propel the characters forward through their journey.
10. Code Vein [PS4, PC, Xbox ONE]
Code Vein is coming to PS4, XB1 and PC in 2018. In the not too distant future, a mysterious disaster has brought collapse to the world as we know it. Towering skyscrapers, once symbols of prosperity, are now lifeless graves of humanity’s past pierced by the Thorns of Judgment. At the center of the destruction lies a hidden society of Revenants called Vein. This final stronghold is where the remaining few fight to survive, blessed with Gifts of power in exchange for their memories and a thirst for blood. Give into the bloodlust fully and risk becoming one of the Lost, fiendish ghouls devoid of any remaining humanity.

“You have to be unique, and different, and shine in your own way.” – Lady Gaga
Matt Sarafa, A Hot Mess / Black Chalk Magazine
Despite his busy schedule attending fashion school, blossoming fashion designer Matt Sarafa has launched a new fashion line “Hot Mess.” Matt Sarafa is most famous for his role on the hit series on Lifetime – “Project Runway Junior.” Matt’s first collection for “Hot Mess” is best described as edgy street chic meets funky disco, with a youthful flair. One bit of trivia – Matt does a fantastically spot-on Tim Gunn impression.

Matt Sarafa, A Hot Mess
Justin Howard – Tell me a little bit about yourself. Where are you from?
Matt Sarafa – I am from Manhattan Beach, California. I grew up here. I like to think of myself as a fashion designer, though I am only 19. That is what I have wanted to do since I was seven years old. I was featured on “Project Runway Junior.” I just launched my first collection, ‘Hot Mess.’ That is basically all there is to me. I eat, sleep and bleed fashion.
Justin Howard – You are an ‘LA Native?’
Matt Sarafa – Exactly. There isn’t much ‘high fashion’ here in Los Angeles. I am trying to bring it out here.  It’s such a fun town. I love New York, but LA is my home base. All my family is here, I love it, and it has treated me very well so far.
Justin Howard – Let’s talk about Manhattan Beach for a moment. How did growing up there affect your sense of fashion? It is a beach town…
Matt Sarafa – Everybody in Manhattan Beach walks around in bikinis and board shorts all year round. That is so not me. I like to roll out after throwing on a huge fur coat. Just being fabulous, you know. That is not the lifestyle here in Manhattan Beach. I am lucky that I am in Los Angeles. I have places I can go to around town like West Hollywood, or Westwood where I go to school. There are definitely fun places to hang out in town. Manhattan Beach isn’t so much my style.
Matt Sarafa, A Hot Mess / Black Chalk Magazine
Justin Howard – What does fashion mean to you?
Matt Sarafa – Fashion means everything to me. Both in the way I dress myself and the way I design my clothing. I find designing clothing is a good outlet for self-expression. To take my ideas from paper to reality is such a fun and intriguing concept for me. I was drawn into the fashion world after watching “Project Runway” for the first time with my mom. Since that moment, I have been totally in love with fashion. Whenever I am feeling happy, or sad, I turn to fashion to express myself. To get my ideas down on paper. It is just something that I have been doing for so long that I can’t imagine my life without it.
Justin Howard – You mentioned you got into fashion after watching “Project Runway” with your mom? Was it a particular episode or season? Do you remember?
Matt Sarafa – I can’t honestly remember… It wasn’t the current season because we were watching a “Project Runway” marathon. It was when “Project Runway” was still on Bravo, not yet on Lifetime. It was during my mom’s recovery from surgery. I was laying on the couch with her. We are huge Bravo fans. Everything ‘Real Housewives,’ everything like that we are huge fans of. We just came upon a long marathon of “Project Runway.”
We watched the entire season, then I ran downstairs to grab my sketch book and started to sketch. It seemed so fun to see these people bring ideas from their head onto paper. Then take them from paper to reality. I think that was what really intrigued me about the fashion world. That is how I got started… It was me going downstairs to grab my sketch book, and wanting to learn how to sew. My mom signed me up right away for sewing classes. The rest is just history.
Justin Howard – That was the first moment you realized you wanted to be a fashion designer.
Matt Sarafa – Absolutely. I had always been artistic as a child, but I had never seen a window into the fashion world. That was the first glance I really got and it drew me in. I totally knew that was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
Matt Sarafa, A Hot Mess / Black Chalk Magazine
Justin Howard – So we can blame your whole career on “Project Runway?”
Matt Sarafa – Yes, and we can blame it all on my mom.
Justin Howard – What was the first piece of clothing your ever designed?
Matt Sarafa – Oh My God! It was a total mess. The first piece of clothing I ever made was this really ugly blue dress I made for my mom. I don’t work from patterns personally. But when I was first getting started I went to the local fabric store and picked up one of those patterns. I had no idea what I was doing, so my Grandma came and tried to help me. Even she couldn’t save it. It was so bad. It looked like Princess Elsa from Disney’s “Frozen,” but in the back corner of the nightclub snorting meth. Truly. It came down to a horrible length, mid-shin. I don’t know what I was thinking. I don’t know why I decided to use satin. But if you not familiar with sewing, that is one of the hardest fabrics to work with because it is so slippery. And of course I went straight for the satin. It couldn’t have been any worse. But my mom rocked it, she pretended to like it, and that is all that matters.
Justin Howard – You did this when you were seven?
Matt Sarafa – Yes, I was seven years old.
Justin Howard – Tell me about your process of design. From sketching a piece to fabricating it.
Matt Sarafa – Constructing a piece depends on what I am making. Some things I can knock one out in a few hours and other pieces I like to put so much time and energy into them that I can take a month or two. Creating it, and perfecting it. Something like a jacket, or a fur coat I will give myself two weeks to make sure everything is absolutely perfect. To be sure everything is top notch. A T-shirt I can knock out in an hour or two.
Matt Sarafa, A Hot Mess / Black Chalk Magazine
Justin Howard – Who are some of your favorite designers? Designers who have influenced your sense of design.
Matt Sarafa – I have some many designers that I love! Of course, the classics like Versace and Dior. I like designers that aren’t afraid to push boundaries and take risks. My personal style is very edgy, so that is what I am drawn towards. But I also appreciate fine designers like Marciano and Jeremy Scott. I love Jean Paul Gaultier. There are so many designers that I really appreciate. Now that I have started my own business, started doing my own collection, I have started to try and support smaller clothing brands as well.
Justin Howard – That is very important in today’s world, where we all want to be unique. We must support the artist.
Matt Sarafa – I love going to LA Fashion Week and seeing all these emerging designers. I went online immediately afterwards and was able to purchase things directly off the runway. It is all custom hand-made items. I do it, because I wish people would do that for my brand. I know I am no Versace yet… It is always good to support the underdog, people who are coming up in the industry.
Justin Howard – I got introduced to your collection kind of randomly. I was in my email and I came across the editorial you had shot yourself. I fell in love with your line’s funky vibe. How do you select your models? As they aren’t your standard fashion models. They definitely capture that funky, Venice Beach feel.
Matt Sarafa – I like more unique beauty, individuals that don’t look like everybody else. I think that Victoria Secret girls are gorgeous but for my brand I want it to be more funky, more inclusive. Just different. The two models I have are just so amazing! They happen to live in my friend’s apartment building. They are up-and-coming models. Those two that I chose ended up being amazing and I don’t think I could have asked for better models. They really wore the clothes well and they really embodied the funky, unique vibe I want for my line.
Matt Sarafa, A Hot Mess / Black Chalk Magazine
Justin Howard – Do you consider yourself to be an artist?
Matt Sarafa – I think all fashion designers are artists. Because the clothes we all create, they are walking living pieces of art.  I don’t really know a lot about painting but sketching, drawing and creating garments I would consider to be art. I guess that would make me an artist. I am definitely not on the level of Picasso!
Justin Howard – Not yet… Who knows, maybe one day the MET will do an exhibit of your work. How do you find your inspiration? Where do you get your inspiration for a collection?
Matt Sarafa – I get inspiration from everywhere. I am inspired by pop culture, I like to see what celebrities are wearing. From people around me, the places I go. A lot of my inspiration comes from social media. I am always on Instagram, looking at what is going on in the world. Being inspired by other people’s style and how they put things together. How they wear the clothes and don’t let the clothes wear them. I love getting inspiration from many different places because I feel like that makes the clothing really unique. It puts a little culture into each of my pieces.
Justin Howard – What matters most to you as a designer?
Matt Sarafa – I think as a designer it is our responsibility to make people feel good about themselves. That is why I don’t understand the whole concept of having to be super skinny to fit into some clothes. I feel like we are all beautiful. I just want every one who wears my clothes to feel confident and beautiful in their own skin. I want them to feel like ‘Bad Bitch!’ That is my ultimate goal, that they feel super confident when wearing my clothes. Then I feel like I did my job.
Matt Sarafa, A Hot Mess / Black Chalk Magazine
Justin Howard – What advice would you like to give to aspiring designers?
Matt Sarafa – It might sound cheesy, but to aspiring designers I would say never give up. This is such a cutthroat industry. If you really love fashion, and if this what you want to do, then you just have to keep going. There are many people who are going to try and stop you, or stay what you are doing isn’t good enough. So you just have to keep pushing past them and don’t let them effect what you do, your style and what you believe in. Like I said, it is a cutthroat industry, but it is worth it at the end of the day if you really do love fashion.
Justin Howard – Let’s talk about “Project Runway Junior” for a minute. What was one piece of advice you wish someone had told you before you went on TV?
Matt Sarafa – I think I took it a little too seriously. I wish someone had told me to loosen up a little bit more. Because I wasn’t my fun bubbly self. I feel like fashion is meant to be fun, but in those timed challenges and those super stressful environments I feel like I lost myself as a designer. After seeing everyone else’s amazingly talented work, it did discourage me. That was the complete opposite of what I wanted to happen. I feel like I would have made it further in the competition if I had really stuck to my own guns. And if I had more confidence in what I was doing. I was in the bottom a lot on the show, and after the third time it really started to dampen my spirit. It made me feel like what I was doing wasn’t good enough. Looking back that wasn’t the case at all. I just didn’t stay true to who I am as a designer. I feel like I could have made it much further had I done that.

Justin Howard – One lesson you learned from being on “Project Runway Junior?”
Matt Sarafa – Tim Gunn did an amazing job mentoring us. That was the biggest thing that I took away from the show, his critiques. He taught me how I could make my pieces better. The one thing that really stood out for me was his advice to me about not over-designing a piece. He says that all the time on the show, but it is really different hear him say that to you in person. Face to face. I did have a tendency to (especially after seeing the other fabulous pieces in the room) add more, to keep throwing more onto it. To make it more gaudy, more outlandish. I learned from Tim I didn’t need to do that to make a successful piece. Simplicity can be just as powerful as a million rhinestones. Sometimes you really don’t need all of that.
Justin Howard – What are your favorite fabrics to work with and why?
Matt Sarafa – I love faux furs. Fur is such a fun and luxurious kind of fabric. I feel like anything you make out of fur makes it a million times more fabulous. I love flowy fabrics like silks and chiffons. I like playing with the opaque qualities of fabrics. Honestly, I like any fabrics that are different from the traditional cotton and wool. I love lace and mesh, because they can truly add a whole different dimension to a garment.
Justin Howard – How would you define the style of your line right now?
Matt Sarafa – The “Hot Mess” line has an edgy street wear vibe. It is definitely wearable. I wanted my first collection to be accessible to the public. To be something you could wear every day. It doesn’t matter if you are going to school, if you are walking down the street, or hanging out with friends. I wanted it to be inviting and wearable. I did accomplish that. For this line, it is all able wearability for the every day customer who doesn’t mind a little bit of flair.
Matt Sarafa will now be showing at New York Fashion Week 2017 on February 11th and will be debuting his new line “FAKE!”

I was lucky enough to show this black leather dress on The Queen Latifah Show. It’s one of my earlier pieces that I actually brought in for my Project Runway Junior audition, so it has a lot of sentimental value for me. – Matt Sarafa
This was the first look to walk the runway at my Cleveland Fashion Week show. I had never made shorts before, so I was super proud of how this look turned out! – Matt Sarafa
