I tend to lean towards longer Sakura-centric fics. I'm not really one for oneshots, so if long rides are your type of thing, you're in the right place.

Maybe if this gets a lot of attention, I'll make a part 2 but as of now, this is all I'm posting since its 3am. It's still pretty decently sized though.

Misunderstandings and marriage proposals- Chapter 5

Pairing: Yagura X Sakura

Summary: “Marry me.” He was a sweet kid, a little weird, but sweet all the same. But couldn’t he go play ninja instead of proposing to random women he’d only met a few weeks ago? What were his parents teaching him anyway? “Yagura-kun-” “Marry me.”

Trudging lightly through the misty rain, the irritated pinkette solemnly eyed the village surrounding her, the cold walls and near empty streets only bothering her further.

Honestly, she’d been planning to visit sooner or later to try and…and rather reluctantly set Yagura straight.

Reluctantly, because she’d actually become rather flattered by his attention. No one apart from Naruto had ever tried to honestly woo her- had come to her with honest to god feelings. Sure she’d received the occasional confession from a patient, but that was to be expected after she’d saved their life - and she’d set them straight immediately as instructed.

But now, after almost months of getting the same caring, flustering, blush inducing messages from the former Kage, she had to admit she wasn’t as…put off by his attention as she had been in the beginning. She’d actually come to like it, look forward to his messages even.

Heaving a sigh and irritatedly flicking her waterlogged hair from her face, Sakura looked up at the building before her, the towering height immediately informing her of its status.

Yep, this was the place, especially if the tarp covered wing to the right was anything to go by.

Making her way through the doors, she didn’t even bother to dry herself off (a futile effort at this point anyway), instead lightly tossing her ‘invitation’ to the woman at the desk- her stride never breaking as she began up the stairs, her mind dead set on finding her teammates.

Her well-meaning, yet oh so irritating teammates…

“Do you think Sakura-chan is going to be mad?”

“Without a doubt, my little student.”

“Oh…Do you think we can get away with blaming it on Yagura?”

“Absolutely not. I’m not taking the fall for your idiotic actions.”

“Pffft, live a little kid! I can’t believe Sakura-chan didn’t tell me-”

“Tell you what?” Silence fell over the office as the pinkette seemed to loom behind the three seated men, Mei watching the interaction wearily as she leant back in her chair.

“SAKURA-CHAN! You’ll never believe what Yagura did to his office when we got here! Ca-”

“NA-RU-TOOOOOOO!”

BOOM

Mei sighed, closing her eyes as her office shook roughly, the large smoking hole in her wall nearly screaming at her as tremor after tremor shook her village.

“Ah, my students are so cute and lively, don’t you think Mizukage? Yagura-chan?” Even Mei could feel the way the rooms’ temperature seemed to drop, the warning in Hatake’s tone loud and clear. “They have been since they were small…especially Sakura, though I have to admit, her hits have gotten a little more….potent.”

…A loud blond Kage to be, a violent medically inclined pinkette, and a smut reading sharingan wielder… to think, if Yagura had his way this would undoubtedly be a constant part of life.

Just what had her predecessor dragged her into with his little ‘infatuation’?

Step 4. Be a good listener- Everyone needs to vent from time to time, so be sure to let your love interest know you’re there for her by listening! Offer your opinion, be kind, and for the love of god- don’t try to make a big deal out of anything you hear! She’s telling you things in confidence, and some things may be exaggerated by her irritation, so take everything she tells you with a grain of salt.

“Good god, sometimes I could just kick that boy to Iwa and back! Who does he think he is! Ruining your office, taking out an entire Hunter nin squad like that! Did he not think things through?! What if I hadn’t been able to come bail him out, huh?! AND KAKASHI! DON’T THINK I’VE FORGOTTEN WHAT YOU DID! HOW COULD YOU PUT THE MIZUKAGE’S AID UNDER A GENJUTSU LIKE THAT!?”

“Well you see, I was just minding my own business-”

“Bullshit.”

“But-”

“Bull. Shit.”

“…”

“And Yagura- The entire west wing of the Mizukage’s tower?! The old training fields?!”

“It was necessary.”

“Why was it necessary?!”

“I had to do so in order to avoid the giant frog summon your teammate called-”

“NARUTO!”

BOOOOM

“…Is she…always this lively when irritated? I don’t recall seeing this type of behaviour back at the camp?”

“Mmmhmm, and just think kid, you’re engaged to her now. Still time to back out and leave my cute student alone if you hand in that paperwork…”

“Never, and I’m not a child.”

“…I have to say, I’m actually starting to like you. Tell you what, if you can make her happy, get her smiling like she used to- I won’t put you through another wall or sic the dogs on you again.”

“I was planning on doing so anyway, don’t presume to order me around Hatake.”
