thinking about how Thomas Hobbes was born right in the middle of an invasion and invented the Leviathan because the war of all against all was his reality and he was a fearful little soul petrified of his own death. and Coriolanus grew up during the siege and remembered nothing good about those years of the war except for the relief when it was over and there was finally a power big enough to keep the chaos at bay.

I did yeah. 😋
I recently went to a músic festival. I was thinking something along the lines of You (main character) going to a festival with your friends and Harry tags along as a friend of a friend. It's the peak of summer. He looks hot. You're hot. The weather is hot. Everything is hot.
You become closer as you patiently wait for the main act to come on the main stage, watching the performance of bands you somewhat know. You're practically glued together because there are hundreds of people waiting; you end separated from your friends in the crowd - it's just the two of you. As the show begins you are side by side, jumping up and down and singing out loud. There are hugs, singing to one another, a lot of touching...
When the crowd moves again, he's standing behind you. So close! A hand on your waist and broad chest to your back. The band plays your favourite song...
Thehehe I'm a sucker for sexual tension. Maybe adding alcohol to the mix to lower inhibitions? I don't know. Have fun
❤️❤️
Hmmmm I do love the idea of those like hot summer moments and just festivals and concerts carry such an energy that it’s so easy to fall in love w the people around you so I can def def def see the tension esp when like they’ve been having a good time all day and now This🥸 I will add this to the list thank you thank you!!

I really dont get why people get so upset at her.
Like i get disagreeing with her or having different opinions or whatever but actually getting mad at her? Like actually angry? For what generally ammounts to incredible technical dissagreements about some niche aspect of trans discourse?
I dont get it

pissgenic changed their URL to syscourser-against-misinfo jsyk.
they posted something about DID being trauma based when (shocking ik /s) that's fact and what people are arguing is that one part of the disorder of DID is not exclusive to DID (aka SYSTEMHOOD).
like, yeah, no shit ofc trauma makes you have worse memory and big amnesia barriers that give you the criteria of DID. if you're a system but dont have trauma then you dont have the disorder.
i want to scream atp
Tumblr media
Yeah, even as someone who believes DID can exist without trauma, my own opinion is that it's going to be so rare as to be statistically insignificant.
I do think the biggest stickler there is going to be the amnesia criterion as you say. There just isn't any research into systems, including OSDD systems, who don't meet that criterion.
I want to note a few things myself from that post in addition to your points.
Tumblr media
Math Stuff
The percentage here is 1% of the general population. If we assume Tiktok as a perfect representative sample of the general population...
Tumblr media
There should be 1.35 million Tiktok users with DID from the United States alone. This isn't including OSDD or Partial DID. Nor other forms of plurality.
Between January and March of 2023, 14 billion videos were uploaded.
Tumblr media
This means, statistically, 144 million TikTok videos should have been made by DID systems in that three month period.
Putting this into perspective, the number of Tiktok videos made by people with DID (assuming that 1% of Tiktoks are made by people with DID) would be the equivalent to the entire population of Russia. In that three month period
"AFABs"
I don't understand why they pointed out this demographic when that's the demo most likely to have DID.
Tumblr media
Different studies show different ratios, but with women (most of whom are AFAB) always being more likely to develop it.
By the way, Tiktok also leans female!
Tumblr media
This means that this variable should increase the percentage of TikTokers with DID compared to the general population.
The Big Bang
I'd argue the only big bang is in awareness. If 1% of people have DID, then I think DID systems might be underrepresented.
If there's an increase in the number of people identifying as having DID, but that's still less than the 1% of the population who have it, then maybe that just means more people with the disorder are becoming aware earlier and more willing to talk about it openly.
And if a disproportionate amount of what you see on your home page is system content, as you suggest, this can easily be attributed to the algorithm.
People not in the system community would probably see little to no DID content.
Tumblr media
This is really semantics.
John Locke defines a person as "a thinking intelligent Being, that has reason and reflection, and can consider it self as itself, the same thinking thing in different times and places."
I believe the explanation of alters in the above quotes meet that definition of a person under Lockian philosophy.
I also disagree with the idea that viewing alters as people is harmful. Viewing them as separate people can hypothetically foster both increased communication and empathy. (People tend to be kinder to others than they are to themselves.) This could aid in treating down dissociative barriers with the right mindset.
Current treatment does push parts philosophy, but treatment that leans into using person-philosophy to build empathy between members of the system hasn't yet been tested against it.
Personally, I'd love to see a person-based treatment plan devised, and an experiment conducted to determine which was most effective for the most people. As of this moment, any speculation as to which is healthier is based on opinion.
Tumblr media
What?
The paper isn't supporting the sociocognitive model???
The sociocognitive model is the opposite of the trauma model, claiming all DID is created through fantasy! And it's clear from the moment this quote starts off calling it the "so-called" sociocognitive model that the paper isn't supporting it.
What I think they're thinking this is about is so-called "Imitated DID", which I've discussed the numerous flaws of extensively and in great detail:
Both of these are deeply flawed constructs. But DO NOT GET THEM CONFUSED!
They are incredibly different beasts!
The former claims DID isn't caused by trauma, while the latter was invented by psychiatrists to protect themselves from lawsuits from misdiagnosed patients.

Hello, big fan of your art since the DA days! Hope you're doing well!
You've mentioned how Ary's human form is short/small for an indomitable will (for unclear reasons), but does this smallness translate to his bipedal lock form too?
Incidentally, do you have a set height/size chart for your locks in biped lock form? Hons always seems huge, Jeih taller than Ary but thinner...
(your clothing designs for them are also always top notch, wow!)
Anyways, have a good day!
That's really cool! I'm doing good, lots of stuff going on per usual.
Ary's shorter in his Lockian forms too. North Cliff is mostly frequented by lesser wills, only a few greater wills regularly turn up there and they all manifest larger forms, so. He's shorter by both standards.
I don't have a recent size chart, I should probably make one.

Dismantling the modern: why can we love postmodernism?
I offer the most general considerations on this issue. Let us structure our analysis as follows: first, we will identify those lines of Postmodernism that are interesting from the point of view of a radical critique of Modernity isolated from postmodern morality, and then we will list those features that, on the contrary, are so imbued with this morality as to be inseparable from it.
Thus, what attracts the radical critic of Western European Modernity to Postmodernism is:
1. Phenomenology and working with the notion of intentionality (Brentano, Husserl, Meinong, Ehrenfels, Fink).
2. Structuralism and the identification of an autonomous ontology of language, text, discourse (Saussure, Trubetskoij, Jakobson, Propp, Greimas, Riker, Dumézil).
3. Cultural pluralism and interest in archaic societies (Boas, Moss, Lévi-Strauss).
4. The discovery of the sacred as the most important factor in existentialism (Durkheim, Eliade, Bataille, Caillois, Gerard, Blanchot).
5. Existentialism and the philosophy of Dasein (Heidegger and his epigones).
6. Acceptance of psychoanalytic themes as a continuous 'dream-work' that subverts the mechanisms of rationality (Freud, Jung, Lacan).
7. Deconstruction as contextualisation (Heidegger).
8. Attention to narration as myth (Bachelard, J. Durand).
9. Critique of racism, ethnocentrism and Western supremacism (Gramsci, Boas - Personality and Culture, New Anthropology).
10. Critique of the scientific image of the world (Newton) and the rationality that justifies it (mainly Cartesian-Lockian) (Foucault, Feyerabend, Latour).
11. Demonstration of the fragility, arbitrariness and falsity of the basic attitudes of Modernity (Cioran, Blaga, Latour).
12. Pessimism towards Western European civilisation, unmasking the utopian mythologies of the 'bright future' and 'progress' (Spengler, Jungers, Choran).
13. Sociology - primarily functionalism (Durkheim, Moss), which shows the illusory nature of the individual's claims to freedom from society and rational-psychological sovereignty.
14. Exposition of the nihilism of the New Age (Nietzsche, Heidegger).
15. Relativeisation of man (Nietzsche, Jünger).
16. The Discovery of Man's Interiority (Mounier, Corbin, Bataille, Jambe).
17. Political theology (Schmitt, Agamben).

Hey, what if you werre to watch every anime every blue lockian likes
I assume you mean the characters' favourite animes because I watched Baki because of it being Raichi's fav?
ACTUALLY my friends have tried to get me to start Chainsaw Man because it's Shidou's favourite. But I currently don't have interest in that (or anything else that's a bllk character's fav. My watchlist and reading list are long enough)
I know in that one post I said it was only because of Raichi (which is true, he's the origin) but there is more behind it LMAO. Basically, I googled Baki a few times after reading Raichi's Egoist Bible profile multiple times (sometime in August) and then one day I googled it again in September and then Baki suddenly started haunting me. It randomly appeared on my Twitter and I saw something with it somewhere else, then I was in the anime & manga store near my school and there was a Baki figure. IT HAUNTED ME. Anyways then it was stuck in my head and one day I talked to my friend and joked I could watch it to procrastinate starting Inazuma Eleven (3 of my friends kept telling me to watch it), then that joke turned into me starting Baki and brainrotting immediately during the first episode. Often before I start new things I have a very specific feeling, like an excitement to watch it and that usually turns into a brainrot. It happened with Blue Lock and Baki (also, I started both on days when I had doctor appointments so if it happens again on my next doctor appointment day, it's a pattern. Whenever that happens)
Btw by now I started Inazuma Eleven but I dropped it after 30 episodes because I didn't like it LMAO Even though I had that specific feeling before starting it but it didn't turn into a brainrot. Yes my friends who love it are disappointed in me /hj /lh

narratively noa's "rationality" actually stopped isagi from becoming the ideal blue lock striker if it’s what caused isagi to pass instead of shoot? noa's ideal isn't compatible with blue lock (while noa and egojin were rivals they didn’t and don’t share philosophies, and only noa is number 1)— isagi may have more natural affinity with kaiser's blossomed-in-bluelock ideal?
in any case blue lock has its own blue lock way and the ideals of each master striker may not be compatible with it, sort of the point of nel to create a non-blue lock infested environment and challenge players to stay blue lock (isagi turned un-blue lock and kaiser became blue lock, one of the many ways in which they’ve switched places)
its also showing that when it comes to proving your value and existence as players non-blue lock ways work and work well, however much blue lock philosophy may reign supreme soccer prison is a new project the difference between it and outsider non-blue locks who are accustomed to standing on the world stage, the kaiser system or snuffy's tactical "mindless" ubers while narratively framed as wrong are acknowledged as systems that have proved themselves to the world— blue lock is narratively in the position of being "correct" but it hasn't completely proven itself while "incorrect" non-blue lock philosophies have, which is acknowledged in the series and maybe this is even the point. this is all blue lockian though, the only real way something can be correct is if it's proven correct (and through being proven it becomes correct)
but really this is another deliberately created tension that what blue lock says is right (what it admires) and what actually works is not the same blue lock acknowledges this even as it presents its correct answer. in the end what makes blue lock correct is not success but blue lock itself (both the manga and the environment within the manga), "correctness" isn't an inherent quality of anything it's a fight for dominance which is why in blue lock "what is correct" itself becomes a tension a conflict within a story, the story of blue lock itself recognizes the need to fight and fights for itself
