it's funny because the first time i watched hands of time i didn't enjoy it very much at all, but now looking back on it i really do like it...? haven't watched it in a while so maybe my opinion would change again if i did lol. but i appreciate most of all that they tried to give everyone an arc, or at least relevance, to varying degrees of success. kai and nya obviously with their parents, but also pixal growing frustrated with her inability to do something and taking action, lloyd dealing with being a leader, wu having to face his past mistakes. jay cole and zane have smaller roles, but we still get good moments with them, like jay going to save his family, cole struggling with his new powers, and zane dealing with losing pixal. idk, it just feels like even though there is a definite focus on certain characters, everyone gets their chance to shine

So, Kai and Nya have to get the fourth Time Blade in order to save Wu -- who would probably rather it stay wherever it's hidden. And I highly doubt that Krux and Acronix would actually use it to save him.

We had our little family reunion. It didn't hurt as much as I thought it would, but still, oof. I really hate when villains threaten kids, so I completely understand why Nya and Kai's parents did what they did. It sucks, but understandable.

Cole, Lloyd, Jay, and Zane are is the middle of the fight of their lives. There was sooooo many Vermilion Warriors hatching. All of Ninjago is relying on the four of them to protect them.

Really hoping Karlof is able to get some reinforcements. Or be a member of the reinforcements. They could really use his help. They could use all the help tbh.

I'm also starting to think that Pixal isn't with Zane anymore. I'm thinking she's somewhere else. Maybe she's with Samurai X? That would explain her absence and why Zane can't speak with her. But that's making me wonder how she was taken/left in the first place.

There's a lot to answer in just these final 2 episodes. Let's dig in.

So i just saw your recent post about Morro, but I also kinda noticed this small typo? It might not be, but I just don't wanna bring it up in the post, so you're free to just reply to this privately or not:

"The Azure Dragon of the East, The Vermillion Bird of the South, The White Tiger of the West and the Black Tortoise of the South."

Basically I noticed that South was listed twice for the Vermilion Bird and the Black Tortoise in this sentence, and I was like 'wait that doesn't sound right, let's make sure that is right' because I haven't gotten super far in Ninjago so here I am.

Sick! I mostly do aliens on the original side, and on the fandom side I mostly find new and innovative ways to turn Acronix, specifically into a snake man. Also thinking up weird lore for the FSM and his family, and the serpentine in general, and sometimes I dabble in thinking of things for other nonhuman ninjagans, and human ninjagans(my headcanon is that humans are native to the never realm, and the FSM brought a few over to ninjago after deciding he didn't like the serpentine anymore)

Sweet! I wish I could say I have Ninjago AUs, but, I don’t because I already have a clan of ninjas that I absolutely would die for and have copious amounts of HCs and lore for (Yiga Clan my fuckinh beloved). I’ve done the opposite and merged the time twins with those AUs instead.

I mean for crying out loud, elemental powers have existed in my work long before I started rewatching Ninjago. (Honestly when I did watch it I was like “hey, they do that too? Huh!”) Also hence why most of my original characters don’t really translate over into that universe very well. I’m going to be putting down how the elements work in my original stories because I want to very clearly establish that “hey I’m not copying anything over here”.

However that doesn’t mean I haven’t done any thinking at all on it. In fact I have thought up a couple of minor concepts that are fun to toy around with (Sorry, they’re all twins related). I’ll list them here:

Death Row: An alternate reality where the reason the twins betrayed their alliance was because they were scheduled to be executed. “Time is too powerful for anyone to control.”

Derelict: Instead of Vermilion Warriors, Krux propagates a massive hive of Xenomorphs as his army. There is no fight. There is no season 7. Do you think anything has any chance against 10,000 aliens. Acronix comes back and is like “damn bro. This is kinda fucked up”.

And the last one is the big one. And since it’s my largest concept yet, this is an extremely bare-bones summary. If it’s at all something that any of you are interested in, let me know.

The Legend of Khronōs - The Five Laments: A game plot based on Breath of the Wild. You play as a young adult Krux alongside your brother, after being transported to a mysterious land and losing core memories (thankfully, not of each other). By speaking to locals and learning the gist of the way the world around you is, you learn that four extremely powerful forces have been wreaking havoc over four prominent regions of the land.

Little do you know that these forces correlate directly to an act of evil either you or your brother committed, and by conquering the guilt and defeating each one, you will unlock one of your abilities (the time twins powers. You know, speed it up, slow it down, pause, reverse).

On the long journey you also begin to regain memories, and quickly come to realize that many of them are extremely unpleasant and hard to witness.

The true source of the havoc is found in a sanctum in the middle of the country, where in lies none other but a hatred and malice incarnate form of yourself, that you must fight in an ultimate battle against the very evil that powered your drive to do all of those terrible things long ago.

Okay, I gotta be completely honest. With this show for the most part, I agree with the majority of the fandom on a lot of things. However-

Hands Of Time is one of the weakest seasons of the show. While like every season, it has it's things I enjoy (Lloyd taking over the mantle of master, Samurai X 2.0, the entire episode where Edna gets taken by the Vermilion warriors, the parents storyline), Krux and Acronix are the weakest villains. They have the same energy as the pirates in season 2. Do not get me started on my hatred of the vermilion warriors.

I also really love Skylor and Kai. I know a lot of people don't, but I think they're really cute! (This also might be because of my love for season 4, that season can do no wrong)

I also think March of the Oni is one of, if not the best, thing to come out of the show as of November 2021 (while I doubt it, season 16 could very well blow me out of the water). The ending is a little rushed and I want to know more about the Oni, but otherwise it's perfect. You have great build-up, every single scene between Mark Oliver and Sam Vincent is perfection and really captured the same energy as Mark Oliver and Jillian Michaels had, every single callback to the previous seasons were so clever, Cole's "death" scene is one of my favorite ones because of how it's illustrated with no dialogue but because you've known these characters for 9 seasons before this one, you know almost exactly what they're saying.

Seabound, Possession and March of the Oni are the saddest seasons as of November 2021

Morro is overrated

And The Fire Chapter is overhated. It's definitely not the best season, but it was a new studio's first season and it captured the energy of Season 1&2 perfectly.

How Did Krux get Serpentine DNA into the Vermilion?

Well, first thing you need to know is that the serpentine in the tombs, genetically speaking, aren’t the only serpentine, humans who were turned during the war often weren’t sent to the tombs, and many of them lived in ninjago well into the modern day.

Now, for the vermilion population to remain healthy, it is important to introduce new DNA into that population, previous vermilion populations having died off within only a few generations due to the effects of inbreeding, and, good news! The offsping of a male serpentine and a female vermilion is a clutch of perfectly healthy vermilion babies.

Now, the problem here is, how do you get a male serpentine to have kids with a female vermilion?

It wouldn’t work naturally, for, hopefully, obvious reasons, but artificial insemination is a thing, so, what Krux did, is he embezzled museum funds to buy semen from humans who were turned during the serpentine war, and who needed the money.
