Me, reading things as an inspiration for HaD

Zu den Einrichtungen auf dem Lagergelände gehörten mehrere Herbergen, eine Kinderkrippe, eine Polytechnische Oberschule, Sporthallen, Cafés, ein Kino, eine Bibliothek, eine Freilichtbühne und eine mongolische Jurte.

The facilities on the camp site included several hostels, a crèche, a polytechnic high school, sports halls, cafes, a cinema, a library, an open-air theater and a Mongolian yurt.

Like I understand all of this and will use it, but where did the yurt come from.

i also found this "Das Schulleben der Kinder in der DDR" (Schoollife of kids in the GDR) and i thought it had some interesting answers in general for this ask 🌺

"Im Alter von 6 Jahren wurden in der DDR alle Kinder in die Polytechnische Oberschule, kurz POS, eingeschult. (...) Der Unterricht war sehr technisch und naturwissenschaftlich gestaltet. Der Zusatz „polytechnisch“ steht für den vorgesehenen Praxisbezug, der die Schulkinder früh an die Arbeitswelt heranführen sollte. Die Jungs und Mädchen lernten neben den Fächern Deutsch, Mathe, Kunst, Geschichte und den Naturwissenschaften Handwerken oder Gärtnern. Mit der 7. Klasse kamen dann Fächer hinzu, die technische Themen und Fertigkeiten wie Elektronik, Informatik und technisches Zeichnen vermittelten. Was für dich heute das Schülerpraktikum ist, war für die Schulkinder der DDR das Fach „Produktive Arbeit“. Darin besuchten sie jede Woche andere Betriebe ihrer Umgebung und erledigten dort praktische Aufgaben. Ab der 7. Klasse fand regelmäßig eine Berufsberatung statt, bei denen die Berufswünsche der Kinder auf benötigte Bereiche in der Planwirtschaft gelenkt wurden. Das verstaatlichte und ideologisierte Schulsystem der DDR sollte die Kinder zu vollwertigen Mitgliedern der sozialistischen Gesellschaft erziehen. Zusätzlich gab es ab der 7. Klasse Staatsbürgerkunde und ab der 9. Klasse Wehrkunde. In diesem Fach lernten die Kinder sowohl theoretisches als auch praktisches militärisches Grundwissen. Jungs lernten, mit Handgranaten und Gasmasken umzugehen, Mädchen dagegen Erste Hilfe und Evakuierung. Vielen Eltern und kirchlichen Gemeinschaften gefiel dieser Unterricht gar nicht. Manche Kinder bekamen daraufhin die Erlaubnis, ihm fernzubleiben, jedoch verloren sie damit die Chance, auf einer weiterführenden Schule aufgenommen zu werden.

Als erste Fremdsprache war für alle Kinder Russisch ab der 5. Klasse Pflicht. Ab der 7. Klasse konnte man dann eine zweite Sprache lernen, meistens war das Englisch.

Damit die Eltern über die Leistungen der eigenen Kinder auf dem Laufenden waren, gab es ein Mitteilungsheft, das sogenannte Muttiheft. Darin wurden das Verhalten und die Disziplin der Schülerin oder des Schülers festgehalten und besondere Leistungen mit gestempelten „Bienchen“ belohnt. Auf dem Zeugnis bekamen die Schülerinnen und Schüler dann nicht nur Noten für die einzelnen Fächer, sondern ebenfalls für Fleiß, Ordnung, Mitarbeit und Betragen.

Anders als heute fand auch samstags Unterricht statt. Dafür konnten sich die Kinder über 8 Wochen Sommerferien freuen."

Ariane Yeong was born on the planet of Leng. Iris Yeong, her mother and a radio officer, was assigned to Interplanetar Station 06 on the colony of Rotfront when Ariane was just a baby; Station 06 where she would raise young Ariane in relative isolation, knowing no one but her mother and seeing very little of the outside world. As a result, Araine developed an interest in expressive forms of art and creativity, such as painting and novels, all of which was societally deemed frivolous, or even dangerous. Ariane's isolation saw her not attending any form of schooling; This lack of proper socialization concerned Ariane's aunt, Kamilla Yeong, who wished to take Ariane to live in Rotfront's Blockwart C, an urban district. Ultimately, Ariane was taken from her mother and relocated to a place where Kamilla believe she could be raised into a proper member of their society.

Now living with Aunt Kamilla and her husband, Ariane was promptly enlisted to attend Mandelbrot Polytechnische Oberschul. She would struggle to adhere to Rotfront’s strict society, which frowned upon her eclectic, creative interests- and to make matters worse, her hair slowly began to turn a stark shade of pure white due to her premature achromotrichia. This led to bullying, much of which became violently physical, as Ariane was unwilling and unable to defend herself. A small reprieve was found in two twin girls named Isolde and Erika Itou, the only two among Ariane’s peers willing to show her kindness. A friendship blossomed between the three girls, though this friendship was ultimately brief. Her schooling not having “beaten” Ariane’s unique interests out of her, it was recommended by her teacher that she enlist in military service. Ariane served for two years, undergoing training as a radio officer much like her mother, and suffered even more for the isolation, having been separated from the only two friends she had ever known- but even this compulsory military service failed to dissuade Ariane from her creative, sensitive nature.

After her tenure in the military ended, Ariane was informed by her superior officer that, failing to find another suitable placement, she would be stationed at the S-23 Sierpinski Facility, a remote re-education facility on her home planet of Leng. This assignment, for Ariane, was a living nightmare; Siperinski was a place for troublemakers, where the parts of society’s well-oiled machine that didn’t quite fit could work and be repurposed.

In desperation, Ariane applied to the Penrose program, which equipped Gestalt applicants with their very own ship and enabled them to scour the stars for suitable planets for the Nation to expand upon. She was promptly accepted, and boarded the Penrose-512 as its new commanding officer, alongside an LSTR-type replika engineer- otherwise known as Elster- that would accompany her for the duration of their trip. Although at first Ariane wanted nothing more than to be left alone, scarred by years of bullying and isolation, soon enough she found herself taking a liking to Elster and craving her company. The two began forming a bond, watching movies and listening to music, and over the course of many cycles ultimately fell in love.

On the 3,000th cycle aboard the Penrose-512, also known as the "third phase" of the Penrose program, Ariane and Elster had yet to find life or planetary objects during their voyage. The transmission they received from the Nation stated that their vessel had reached its expected life span and was soon to decay, with internal systems such as the nuclear reactor failing, leading to the deaths of those onboard. Ariane and Elster, devastated by the news, decided to nevertheless persist, and proceeded to carefully ration out their remaining food and supplies in an effort to survive. Over the course of many more years, Ariane would begin to suffer terrible sickness from radiation poisoning. She began to spend more and more time inside the onboard cryo-pod as a last ditch effort of preserving her remaining health. At some point, a promise was made; however, before that promise could be fulfilled, Elster- herself degrading from the radiation onboard, and without the spare parts to keep herself running- died of exposure.

In the end, Ariane remained alone inside the cryo-pod, suffering the effects of the radiation but unable to free herself… and without hope, she began to dream.

inherent abilities: BIORESONANCE — Unbeknownst to even herself, Ariane was born with a special, and poorly understood, ability known as bioresonance. Bioresonance is best described as written in a book titled “Song of the Gods” which describes it as such: “There exists a connection between all of us that few are fully aware of. A song that we all dance to, but few can hear. This deep vibration of the cosmos can not just be heard and felt. We all resonate in harmony with it, shaping it, deforming it around us. Those select few who can consciously perceive it often fear it. Too oppressive is the sound of the stars, too invasive the noise of the unaware around them, polluting the song with their fickle emotions. But every once in a while, some are born that cannot only hear and play this music of the worlds, but who can conduct it. Gifted individuals capable of manipulating the essence of the world around them.”

Put more simply, Ariane is able to not only detect the song of the universe but also manipulate it, whether that be consciously or unconsciously- and seeing as she is currently unaware of her status as a Bioresonant individual, the manifestation of her power is almost entirely unconscious. It most often manifests itself through what she believes to be intuition, or her ‘gut’ feelings, and enables her to know things she shouldn’t know about people, places, or things. In extreme cases, she can manipulate the fabric of reality itself and will feelings, people, and places into creation.

Gleich nach der Grundschule, Wohnwechsel ins fußweglose Gorbitz - 300m Abenteuer bis zur Schule.

Unsere Klasse formierte sich zunächst in einer Ausweichschule. Lange genug, dass die Wochen später eintreffende Beatrice die Aufmerksamkeit der Klasse und meine Beobachtung bekam - warum, begriff ich bei unserem ersten Klassentreffen, 13 Jahre später: in dieser Klasse lauerte die Geilheit. Sowohl die homosexuelle, als auch die emanzipierte Hetero-Liebe. Annett nahm mich mit zu ihr. Und Carola kämpfte mit mir auf der Klappcouch, zwei Klassenkameraden sahen zu. Ich glaube, Kerstin himmelte mich auch an, Katrin herzte mich zu irgendeinem Kellergeburtstag . . Wie auch immer, ich visierte Bea - damals noch ohne dem Wissen um Sex. Ihre langen Haare, das sanfte Wesen, es zog meine Blicke in die Richtung ihres Daseins. Diese Wirkung hielt bis immer. Sie blätterte in der BRAVO, schlug die Dr.-Sommer-Seite auf, ich errötete, sie wunderte es sehr - ich wunderte mich, warum sie mich dabei an_sah.

Auf der letzten Klassenfahrt hakte sie sich bei mir ein, ich sah sie skeptisch an. Später auf der Fahrt hatte sie einen Anderen. Nach der Zehnten, Party im Neubaukeller, ihre Hand in meiner Hose - ich blieb vor lauter Muttrinken unbeeindruckt. Später hatte Rico das Glück. Am 1.September 1984 wurde ich eingeschult, ich ging in die polytechnische Oberschule mit Namen 'Otto Buchwitz', irgendwo im Bezirk Cottbus. Die POS war eine einheitliche zehnjährige Gemeinschaftsschule in der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik und Otto Buchwitz ein Politiker während der Kriegszeit und darüber hinaus, später in der DDR, der als Regimegegner der Nationalsozialisten galt. Auf dem Bild seht ihr meinen Schulranzen. Ich war sehr aufgeregt damals 1984, es gab eine feierliche Veranstaltung in der Schule, wo ich erstmals etliche meiner Mitschüler aus anderen Dörfern und Kindergärten sah. Wir lernten aber nicht mehr zehn Jahre zusammen, sondern nur noch sieben, bis 1991. Dann wurde die POS umgewandelt in eine Realschule und die bestehenden EOS (erweiterte Oberschulen) in Gymnasien. Ab der achten Klasse kamen neue Mitschüler an unsere Schule, da in vielen Dörfern die Schulen geschlossen oder umgewandelt wurden. meine erste schule war ein "gangtyp" in (ost)berlin, marzahn... sie war schon etwas moderner, als diese hier auf dem bild und hatte somit schon eine poppige farbe: rot. es war eine typische polytechnische oberschule, worin klasse 1 bis 10 vereint war. das hatte seine vor- und nachteile... nachteil #1: als ich die erste "große pause" meines lebens hatte, wurde ich erstmal von einem zehnklässler umgerannt, als ich den fuß das erste mal von der treppe aus (ähnlich wie auf dem bild) auf den schulhof stellte, und habe ordentlich beton geküsst. nachteil #2: als rotzlöffeliger jungpionier musste man aufpassen wenn man scheiße baut, denn die großen fdl'er ließen gerne den "erwachsenen" raushängen und zogen einem auch schon mal hier und da die ohren lang. mein liebingsvorteil: 11.11. um 11 uhr 11... war jedes jahr eine tradition. die großen stürmten durchs haus, rissen einfach die klassenraumtüren auf und warfen uns einen haufen bonbons und süßigkeiten zu.
