I completely forgot I had this ask, excuse the delay. Here's a selection of 30 podcasts I enjoyed from a broad range of genres: hopefully at least one appeals.

Let me know if you're after something more specific.

Arden: (Investigative, Comedy) On the 25th of December, 2007, heiress and young actress Julie Capsom crashed her car into a tree and fled into a nearby forest clearing, leaving a trail that seemingly vanished into thin air, and a dismembered torso in the trunk. A decade later, Bea, the first reporter on the scene, and Brenda, a detective on the case, are hosting a true crime podcast about it, and neither is remotely impressed with what the other has to say. Arden is also a retelling of various Shakespeare plays.

Desperado: (Supernatural, Adventure, Horror Elements) In a modern world of gods and magic, three young people, all under the patronage of death dieties, embark on the same adventure for different reasons: for safety, for revenge, and to kill The Old Man in the Sky. Fantastic banter and killer action sequences.

The Far Meridian: (Magical Realism) An agoraphobic young woman wakes one day to discover her lighthouse home has travelled to somewhere entirely unfamilar. As this continues to happen day after day, she uses the opportunity to search for her missing brother. A really unique and charming piece of fiction.

Gastronaut: (Sci-Fi) Interstellar travel audio blog of a former food critic as he travels to an active warzone to get firsthand experience with unfamilar cuisine. ft. Disgruntled martian nobility, sinister businessmen, explosive mushrooms, forbidden snacks, rogue revolutionary artists, and the consequences of your actions.

Girl in Space: (Sci-Fi) The Girl In Space lives alone on a space station, doing science, making cheese, rewatching Jurassic Park, and tending to the plants, animals, and artificial sun entrusted to her. It's a little lonely, but not a bad life. Would be a shame if someone came along to ruin it.

The Goblet Wire: (Microfiction, Weird Fiction) A surreal microfiction with horror elements, taking the form of phone calls to an audio-based game in which the voice of the mysterious Dictator leads each player through fantastic and horrific world and story.

Hello From The Hallowoods: (Horror, Supernatural) A dramatic entity beyond your comprehension visits your nightmares to tell stories of the people (in varying degrees of human and alive) that inhabit the strange, deadly, and beautiful Hallowoods, as they find meaning and sometimes eachother.

Hi Nay: (Supernatural Horror) A year after moving to Toronto, sound designer Mari finds herself drawn into helping people around the city with various horrific supernatural encounters due to her babaylan (shaman) family background. It quickly becomes apparent that there's something much more sinister and complicated happening in the background.

Inco: (Microfiction, Sci-Fi) A perpetually exausted interstellar information trader and her peppy AI find a mysterious (read: bratty) boy floating in space and are inadventently pulled into a world political intrigue.

Inn Between: (Fantasy) Ever curious about what the D&D characters get up to at the tavern between sessions? A generally lighter-hearted (with some exceptions) with richly-written and always-growing characters. A really interesting format, too: a lot of the adventure appears in the "next time" and "last time" segments which makes it all flow really nicely. Not a tabletop podcast.

Janus Descending: (Sci-Fi, Horror, Tragedy) A xenoarcheologist and a xenopaleontologist are sent to a study a dead city on a distant world. Nobody likes what they find there. A unique format, with one set of logs presented first to last, and the other last to first. I'd recommend listening to the supercut for this one.

The Kingmaker Histories: (Steampunk, Weird Fiction, Adventure, Fantasy Elements) In the Valorian Socialist Republic 1911, on her 25th birthday, tailor's apprentice Colette experienced the worst headache of her life. As a result, she fleed from town with a human artificer and a fae chef - both now smugglers - pursued by an utterly furious flesh-crafter. I'm not sure I'm selling how good this podcast is but it's very good.

Life With Althaar: (Sci-Fi, Comedy) A human repairman moves to a space station on the edge of human territory that is perpetually on the edge of self-destruction, and ends up with a less-than-ideal last-minute roomate. Althaar is polite, friendly, deeply interested in human culture, and eager to be friends. Unfortunately he belongs to a species that sends humans into a visceral panic at a glance.

Lost Terminal: (Sci-Fi, Hopepunk) Seth is a very lonely AI living on a satellite. His crew were left stranded aboard with no hope of return, and it's been longer than he can count since then. The Earth below him has changed dramatically, and with only a few other AI down there to talk to, he's very lonely. But! He has a plan to make some new friends.

Love and Luck: (Romance, Slice-of-Life and Urban Fantasy Elements) Voice messages cataloguing two young men falling in love and opening a queer dry bar together.

Midnight Radio: (Light Supernatural, Romance) Sybil McIntyre, host of the ever-popular 1950's nightly radio hour, begins exchanging letters with an old fan who has reluctantly returned to visit Sybil's beloved town.

Midst: (Weird Fiction, Western, Sci-Fi and Fantasy Elements) The old-western planetoid islet of Midst floats, rotating steadily, in a sea of reality-warping darkness. Down in the town of Stationary Hill, things are in movement, and vistors from the light above are about to bring unanticipated change. ft a monocycle-riding monster-hunter, radio-famous airship paladins, deadly mica, the universe's peppiest cultist, good dogs, and a really strange businessman.

The Mistholme Museum of Mystery, Morbidity, and Mortality: (Weird Fiction, Supernatural, Urban Fantasy and Horror Elements) A friendly AI tour guide leads you on a tour of the Mistholme Museum, explaining the strange and often alternatural story behind each item.

Monstrous Agonies: (Supernatural, Relationship Advice) An interpersonal advice show for supernatural entities and other people living liminally in the modern world.

Night Shift: (Urban Fantasy, Investigative) Set in a modern world with the addition of magic, which manifests in small inherited skills/traits, can warp people in horrific ways, or can be manipulated with the right science (and intense work) to induce superpowers. Sebastian Fenn is a barista at Night Shift Coffee, but since things are slow he's decided to start a podcast to talk about various mysteries, crimes and conspiracies around the city, and of course finds himself deeper in them than he'd intended.

The Pasithea Powder: (Sci-Fi, Thriller Elements? I think?) The last major interplanetary war was full of atrocities, but none more infamous then the creation of Pasithea Powder, a memory altering drug which was used to horrible effect and landed it's entire team of creators in prison. So when decorated war hero Captain Sophie Green sees one of them wandering free, worlds away from his prison, she gets in touch with a very old, estranged friend: one Dr. Jane Gonzalez, who's behind bars for the very same reason.

SCP: Find Us Alive: (Weird Fiction, Supernatural, Horror and Slice-of-Life elements) You don't need to know anything about SCP to enjoy this. A research team gets trapped in an underground research facility when the complex collapses and the building is dragged into a pocket dimension. The tear it was designed to study begins creating tiny copies of itself, generating strange entities the team needs to deal with. And as if that wasn't enough, the entire situation physically resets itself every 30 days. And yet, this is genuinely also an office comedy.

Second Star to the Left: (Sci-Fi) Audio logs of a scout sent to explore and establish early infastructure new world, and the communications with the minder in charge of keeping her alive.

Seen and Not Heard: (Slice-of-Life, Drama) Seen and Not Heard follows Bet, who's still adjusting to life a year after a bout of severe illness, and the resulting hearing loss it caused. It's about the ways we make connection, and food, and art, and different kinds of grief.

The Silt Verses: (Horror) In a modern world where gods are abundant, frequently both commercialised and restricted, two devotees of an outlawed river god go on a pilgrimage.

SINKHOLE: (Sci-Fi, Weird Fiction) Forum posts from a data restoration community in a near future where the human brain is its own computer and one city hosts a massive void.

Starfall: (Fantasy) Seeking to escape her mysterious past and find some purpose, a young swordswoman joins a travelling actor's troupe. This new life is unfamilar and sometimes stressful, but she's taken under the wing of stagehand Fel, who's determined to help her feel welcome as she experiences the figurative and literal magic of the theatre for the first time.

The Tower: (Weird Fiction) A low-key, meditative podcasy about a young woman who decides to climb a seemingly endless tower. Gorgeous sound design.

The Vesta Clinic: (Sci-Fi) New GP Dr. Fae Underwood, with the expert transcription skills of resident AI Sec, writes up patient reports on human and alien patients of The Vesta Clinic, a medical clinic on the edge of human space. Really comfy and creative.

Victoriocity: (Steampunk, Mystery) Set in the steam-powered Victorian city of Even Greater London, an aspiring journalist and a tired detective find themselves working together to solve a strange murder. I say Victorian but as queen Victoria is now an extensive grandiocity of cyborg components following seven only-kind-of-successful assassinations, you may need to adjust expectations a little.

(Wednesday, having been sick the past day or two, is just now getting better. The phone in her and Enid’s room rings, to which she goes to answer.)

(She and Enid were put in charge of watching Pubert, but while Wends was sick, Enid took Pubert on an outing. So she already knows who’s on the other line.)

Wednesday: (groggily answering the phone) “Speak.”

Enid: (on the other end) “Um, so…Nighty-light ?”

Wednesday: (pinches the bridge of her nose, but is otherwise calm) “Don’t…you don’t call me that in a public setting. We’ve been over this fifteen times.”

Enid: (on the other end) “Actually it was twenty seven, but that’s not the point. It’s Pubert…”

Wednesday: (narrowing her eyes) “What about him ?”

Enid: (On the other end) “So you remember that Reenactment they were having ?” (Wednesday’s eyes widen and her head perks up. There was a Civil War Reenactment for the past week, commemorating the “Nevermore’s Red Bath”; a weeks-long siege in which past Addams’ are said to have held down the fort against confederate raiders.)

Wednesday: “Enid…where is Pubert ?”

(Enid hesitates for a second before sighing)

Enid: “Xavier was participating and offered to show him-”

Wednesday: “I’m on my way.”

(Wednesday hangs up the phone.)

(We jump cut to Wednesday getting off a bike, and making her way down an encampment, where an antsy Enid is waiting for her.)

(There are in a forested area five miles off the school; there is a makeshift camp down the bank, where the third day of Red Bath occurred. The sun is disappearing over the horizon.)

Enid: (following Wednesday closely behind) “He’s at the-”

Wednesday: “I know where he is, get your phone out, this needs to be on record!”

Enid: (momentarily confused) “Record bu-”(realizes what Wednesday is insinuating, and sighs) “Of course.”

(At the camp, fourteen confederate reenactors are bound by their wrists to these makeshift posts from the trees. Union reenactors – Xavier, Ajax and Eugene among them – look on mortified and bewildered at Wednesday’s four year old brother, and what he's preparing to do. When they see Wednesday and Enid, they look a little relieved.)

(Wearing a set of Union soldier coat pants, and a sweater vest (adjusted for his size), Pubert has red paint around his eyes, which are still wet and dripping, like bloody tears. Pubert is cosplaying as his ancestor of that era – Ezekiel “Tanhide” Addams.)

(Presently, Pubert is sitting before a fire, heating up a very real bowie knife over the fire, sharpening it on a bronze cutting stone. The other participants are too scared to take it from him.)

Wednesday: (amused) “Ah, so that’s where it went.”

(Enid glances at Wednesday with a flat expression.)

Pubert: (in-character, singing a little tune) “I was a highwayman/Along the coach roads I did ride/With sword and pistol by my side..”

(Pubert decided the knife is hot enough. At his side is an apple, which he picks up.)

Pubert: (in character, still singing) “Many a young maid lost her marbles to my trade/Many a soldier shed his life blood on my blade…”

(Pubert slices through the apple effortlessly; the heat of the knife causes the juices to steam a little, even as he takes a bite. He glances at his observers and spits out an apple seed.)

Pubert: (in character, still singing) “They finally hung me in the spring of twenty five/but I’m still alive…”

(Pubert gets up, advancing towards the prisoners; cosplaying as the captain of this troop.)

Pubert: (stops singing but is still in character) “Which is more than I can for you lot.”

Participant: “Kid, listen! This is just a reenactment! It’s all just fun and games-”

Pubert: (in character, but snapping) “Fun and games ? Your fun and games burned a hospital and an orphanage! Carved up that poor girl and left her as a message!” (chuckles) “Well, messaged received, mi amigo.”

(The other players looked around bewildered. As vicious as the raids historically were - we’re talking “Blood Meridian” levels - they obviously didn’t reenact those parts.)

Enid: (Whispering to Wednesday) “Aren’t you gonna stop him-?”

(With an amused expression, Wednesday holds up a finger to silence her. Conceding defeat, Enid sighs and shrugs.)

Pubert: (in character, now holding the bowie knife under his prisoner's neck) “So you like scaring people ? That’s good. I need a scarecrow. You and your troop are gonna be my message!”

(Pubert takes hold of the participants hair, holding the knife at his cranium, as if about to scalp him. It’s then Wednesday steps in.)

Wednesday: “Pubert!”

(Pubert stops, looking quiet, humbled. Like a toddler caught stealing cookies. The other participants sigh in relief.)

(Wednesday sits on her knees before Pubert, wiping the red paint off his eyes. She silently looks at the paint for a moment, before speaking.)

Wednesday: “You know…If you want it to look real, you’d need to add a shot of green into the paint. Blue would make it purple.”

(Wednesday looks at Enid)

Wednesday: “Enid, I wouldn’t normally ask this but-”

Enid: (non-plussed but going through her bag) “Way ahead of you.”

(Moments later, Pubert, is wearing more real-looking “blood” as war paint, with Enid putting on the finishing touches.)

Enid: “Aaand, there we go!”

Wednesday: (opening a pocket mirror for Pubert to see) “What do you think ?”

Pubert: (still in character, but now pressing his hand affectionately to Wednesday’s cheek, and his forehead to hers) “You’ve always been good to me, Morrigan. If only these swine had a sister like you; they wouldn’t be as stupid.”

(Moments later, Wednesday looks on with a proud expression, wiping a tear from her eye. Enod records this on her phone, nonplussed, but with the ghost of a smile on her face. Pubert is once again pacing, back and forth before the prisoners.)

Pubert: (still in character) “I want you to know what you’re here for. What you’re fighting for, and what you’re dying for! A lost cause! Nothing! The death throes of dying era, from which you will never rise! When history looks back at you, that will be your legacy-”

(They are interrupted when the sound of the horn over the horizon, indicating that today's game is over. The participants sigh in relief, while Pubert looks irate.)

Ajax: “Okay, so I guess that’s a wrap every-”

Pubert: (in character, chuckles humorlessly) “You must have been born yesterday, son. That’d be re-enforcments you hear. More for the fire…”

Eugene: “Pubert, it’s getting late, shouldn’t we-?”

(Pubert inhales and exhales deeply, smearing the “blood” all over the face. He stretches' his arms, and cracks his neck, before tossing the bowie knife into the air, and catches it by the handle.)

Pubert: (in character) “Puede que me vaya al infierno, ¡pero esos nueces de mantequilla se irán primero!”

(With a makeshift torch from the campfire in one hand, and bowie knife in the other, Pubert lets out the best war cry a four year old can muster, and he runs towards the sound of advancing participants, in a Banzai-like charge.)

(Enid and the other freed participants are busy untying the “prisoners”, while Wednesday looks on at Pubert; her proud smile widens as the sounds of other participants screaming in terror and disbelief could be heard.)

Enid: “Should…shouldn’t we go get him ?”

Wednesday: (shrugs) “Ah, let him tucker himself out.”

Realisation // Ruin

Jedi Knight Caspian Serapis is at last reunited with his missing crewmates, Kira Carsen and Lord Scourge, when the two make an unexpected appearance on Corellia to rescue him from the wreckage of the Meridian Complex. As Cas recovers and reconnects with his companions in the quiet aftermath of the battle, it isn’t just his own long-lost yearnings that are pushed to light. Now, after so many years apart, both Cas and Scourge must decide - does the path ahead lie again in their curious bond as allies, or as something more?

JEDI KNIGHT X LORD SCOURGE Words: 19800 (complete) A/N: Well, here we are - my version of Scourge and Kira's return, combined with Scourge's romance scene. This started as simple indignation that following Objective Meridian, the story overlooks the incredible potential dramangst of having the player - particular the JK - being rescued from the wreckage of the Meridian Complex, instead of offscreen Tau and Arn. So - I'm fixing that. Sorry Cas! As I've done before, I've taken the basics of in game conversations and reworked/expanded them to better suit my headcanons. I love Scourge's romance scene, but it's always felt a little rushed/choppy to me considering how long he's been gone. I'll be posting two chapters at a time since they're mostly on the shorter side, likely every couple of weeks, but we shall see how it goes. I’ll keep this masterpost updated as I go.

Outside, battle still flurries and flares through the Corellian shipyards, as Republic and Alliance forces work to drive back the breaking Imperial assault.

But here, inside the central spire of the Meridian Complex, it’s oddly quiet; the cries of combat reduced to distorted echoes that flit unsettlingly through the massive, hollow core.

On a central platform high, high above the smoke that wafts from the bombed and burning foundries, a rogue Sith Lord thuds to his knees, his muscles straining against the cybernetics embedded in his sickened flesh, as three battered Jedi close in around him.

“I should have known it wasn’t just a story,” rasps Malgus, his voice a shudder of static within the mask that seems to nearly consume the lower half of his face. “If anyone could destroy him… it was you.”

Caspian Serapis only glares at him, his own lungs heaving as he struggles not to sway beneath the wounds cut into him by Malgus’ lightsaber. He doesn’t need the Sith’s bizarre praise - not here, where he can still feel the dying gasps of CorSec militia and Green Jedi below. Not now, when his clothes are singed by Imperial blasterfire and his face is smeared with the ashes of his home.

His soot-stained hand curls more tightly around the hilt of his lightsaber, the green-gold blade humming readily at his side, should Malgus try to attack again. On the other side of the Sith, Tau Idair and Arn Peralun advance a few steps, menacing their enemy openly with their lightsabers of bright green and azure blue.

“No matter,” continues Malgus, a growl vibrating through his voice. He slides his gaze back over one shoulder, then the other; Cas can see every vein in his eyes, pulsing a sickly scarlet around the manic yellow of his irises. “I will not fail.”

Faster than Caspian’s exhausted reflexes can react, Malgus summons a last gasp of energy and slams at him through the Force. The Jedi is hurled away, tumbling towards the edge of the platform. He manages to catch himself a metre or so from the perilous drop, and though his body is begging him to stay down, to rest, he forces it onward, gritting his teeth as he scrambles up again.

Alarm stabs through him as he whips his attention around. Tau and Arn have been thrown back as well, both Jedi dazed and struggling to pick themselves up under the strain of their own injuries. And now Malgus is on his feet, towering, his eyes blazing like fevered brimstone within the dark hollows of their sockets.

“Your shipyard will crumble,” he vows, and his gaze turns to scorch Cas with terrible, maddened intent. “Your Republic will burn.”

He lifts his tortured arms, organic and cybernetic hands stretching in unison, as though grasping in beseechment of a god who will not answer. Overhead, the massive generator that hangs beneath the dome of the spire begins to tremble.

As Malgus’ eyes bulge with the effort, Caspian’s own gaze flies wide with realisation.

“RUN!” he cries, as the Force shudders above him, and the weight of the generator groans under the Sith’s unrelenting pull.

Been thinking about that Neptune open world zone I joked about on that post with the funky fish costumes. What if that like.... actually happened? A new open world zone.... but here’s the twist: it’s underwater. It’s the first (and if I know three or more things about the warframe community) only open world zone that is exclusively archwing. Also, I did misspeak, the canon ocean planet in Warframe is actually Uranus not Neptune. Because the Orokin just did whatever the fizzidyuck they wanted with terraforming.

I’m gonna call Uranus’ underwater open world zone the “Umbriel Reef”

The hub town - Prospero - is some like Little Innsmouth place built on some perpetually stormy rock spire sticking out of the ocean with a bunch of docks, rafts, and boats tethered around it to build a little makeshift city, and you accept your bounties and then dive off the edge with your archwing. The dock-village of Prospero is populated by a syndicate of Uranian humans who wear heavy ceremonial garb and call themselves The Naiads.

The Naiads have loose connections to Steel Meridian with the town of Prospero acting as a secret hub for Grineer defectors, and it is Cressa Tal that first contacts the player about helping the Naiads.

The Naiads are peaceful Tenno sympathizers, and have been threatened repeatedly by the presence of both the Grineer led by Tyl Regor and the Corpus led by a previously unknown member of the Board of Directors the Angel of Avarice; Lady Amei Axevi. The Umbriel Reef’s ‘day/night’ cycle is defined by which of the two factions is currently occupying it, with bounties and rewards being slightly different depending on whether the zone is besieged by Regor’s Grineer or Axevi’s Corpus.

I think it could be a fantastic accompaniment to the currently incomplete archwing rework including the modular archwings. This scenario would link the modular archwings system (or at least a bunch of parts for it) to this new open world zone and hub village.

Listen, I know I am in a pretty isolated camp when I say this but I freaking love underwater zones in videogames. And the solution to AW sucking is not to shelve it, it’s to fix it.

Phil is talking to me again!

Phil as in Bad Luck Phil and Mistlands, who monopolized my mental space for most of last year to the point where my spotify wrapped was the 101 most-played songs from Phil's playlist. Nothing else came close. I finished my draft and while I was going back to expand some scenes and such. But I felt kind of stymied. The days of not being able to write fast enough were gone.

Then there new shiny characters for a new RPG in the city of Meridian, a new (though similar) setting:

Jules, the bass player for the modern-day punk band Roach Motel, who ODs and ends up in Meridian, the city she's been seeing in her dreams since childhood. Her game story starts right when she wakes up, but there was plenty of pre-game backstory to write. And I did. A lot. Like the entire evening up to the point when Meridian pulled her through the Veil permanently.

Oskar, a Fey Gremlin and native of Meridian, who spent some time on Earth during WW2 for reasons he's ignorant of but had a blast while he was there. Upon returning, he ran afoul of Meridian's ultimate police force, The Faceless, who stole parts of his memory and left him with nightmares. But they unknowingly stole the web of supernatural obligations that bound him to his Fey leaders as well. He's free to make his own deals and build his own web, something he hasn't quite realized yet. Inspirations: Oscar the Grouch, The Bowery King from John Wick, and Rocket from Guardians of the Galaxy.

(also I re-upped my WoW sub for a few months around when Classic Wrath dropped so I had a new Gnomish DK, Hellstromme, who needed a background because of course he does)

Now I'm playing these characters in their respective games and Phil came back! I know how one scene I was stuck on goes and I'm excited to write it! I was really afraid that since I "finished" Phil's story, however unpolished and unpublishable it was, I wasn't going to be interested in doing more with it. I'm so happy that's not the case.

Entretanto isso não quer dizer que os mesmos não possuem complexidade ou profundidade, muito pelo contrário, há diversas maneiras de se criar um stage e o torná-lo interessante.

Há Stages por exemplo que são releituras de locais reais como os Stages “Esaka” de KOF que remetem a locais da cidade de mesmo nome “Esaka”:

Devido ao fato de grande maioria dos chamados “Anime Fighters” ou “Air Dashers” virem do Japão, muitos cenários de jogos como “Under Night In:Birth” ou “Melty Blood” retratam locais cotidianos similares aos encontrados nas cidades japonesas:

Outro tipo de Stage são os que possuem várias “Instâncias”, isso são, diferentes locais que os players podem acessar por meio de uma mecânica do jogo, como os “Wall Breaks” em Guilty Gear -Strive-:

Hzd/hfw au where both games are a DND game gaia is running, and Aloy was finally convinced to join by her so she could get the girl away from her projects and out of the house. Gaia really wants her to make friends that arent family members/family friends. The gaia gang and allies are real people joining the session games, as its held open style at a coffee shop (Meridian) in the back room (idk, my local coffee shop does this). Mmmm maybe gaia is recording and posting the eps as they happen so local players who can't make it stay up to date on the session to make things easier?

Yes Aloy is kind of technically leading the session by virtue of showing up every week and driving the story along by finding the logs and recordings so Gaia can further the exposition of the world, but like all the recurring players actually get their own little storylines to play out with Gaia (shes very good at multitasking and keeping her players engaged).

Beta joins so late because her college course is kicking her ass, and shes finally done for the semester around the hfw session.

Idk Aloy gets to really open up through playing dnd, meets a ton of interesting people, and makes more than one friend. She also gets to bond with her sister again after college kind of made them drift apart.
