Le constructeur allemand et spécialiste du tuning Porsche Ruf a dévoilé la CTR 3 Evo - sa voiture la plus puissante à ce jour.
Révélé durant la Monterey Car Week, il s'agit d'une proposition intégralement repensée et fortement améliorée basée sur mais distincte du CTR 3 Clubsport basé sur Porsche Cayman.
Il est propulsé par un six cylindres à plat à double turbocompresseur de 3,8 litres monté au milieu produisant 789 ch et 730 lb-pi - 23 ch et 8 lb-pi de plus que le Clubsport. La puissance maximale arrive à 7100 tr/min et le couple maximal est déployé à 4000 tr/min.
La voiture illustrée est équipée de la transmission automatique à double embrayage à sept rapports de Ruf, mais comme le Clubsport peut aussi être spécifié avec une boîte manuelle à six rapports, l'Evo pourrait aussi devenir disponible avec cette option.
Le corps est fabriqué à partir d'un composite Kevlar, similaire au Koenigsegg Agera RS, connu pour ses propriétés légères, sa solidité et sa résistance à la chaleur.
La vitesse de pointe et le temps de 0 à 62 mph ne sont pas encore connus, mais l'Evo sera plus rapide que le Clubsport, qui est capable de dépasser 236 mph et d'acheminer 0-62 mph en 3,2 secondes.
La multitude d'améliorations va au-delà du réglage du moteur - avec des modifications de la suspension avant à jambes de force MacPherson et une suspension arrière multibras, combinées à des freins en carbone-céramique et à un système de lubrification à carter sec prêt pour la piste similaire à celui utilisé dans la Ferrari 488 GTB et Chevrolet Corvette Z06.
À l'intérieur, ses sièges sport monobloc moulants sont en fibre de carbone et recouverts d'Alcantara avec des surpiqûres jaunes contrastantes.
Les consommateurs pourront commander le CTR 3 Evo à un prix de plus de 725 000 $ (570 466 £), ce qui le rend plus cher que la Porsche 911 GT3 de Manthey Racing et la Ferrari SF90 tout aussi puissante.

RUF pic of the day: superb image and post credit to @jasdhillon67 A question was asked about what sets the Ruf BTR apart from a Porsche 930 Turbo. The answer lies in the genius of Alois Ruf and the artisans at Ruf Gmbh. The BTR was made from 83-89. Porsche supplied body shells to Ruf for around 20-30 cars that were built from ground up to Ruf specs and with their own unique Ruf VIN number. The Ruf VIN number begins with “W09” while Porsche VIN cars begin with “WP0”. In addition to the 20-30 VIN# BTR made from 83-89, there were also conversions done to existing porsche cars and subsequent BTR2 and 993 based BTR’s made. The standard Porsche 930 turbo in its final configuration made about 282hp, compared to the 400+hp in the BTR. This was achieved by a bigger turbo, revised intercooler, twin plug ignition, ruf ECU/engine management and bore being increased to 3.4L up from 3.3L. The BTR also featured twin exhaust outlets, ruf instruments , recaro seats , full rollcage, optional 935 racing mirrors, 17inch ruf 5 spoke alloy wheels, ruf steering wheel and revised front spoiler with oil cooler. The suspension was stiffened and bigger brakes were added. Weight was also culled and the car was lighter than a Porsche 930 Turbo. The net result was a car that topped out at 190mph and could do 0-60 in 4.2s ! In 1984, Road and Track did a feature on “The Fastest Car in America” and the Ruf BTR won by 10 mph and vastly superior acceleration times. Amazingly, 3 years later they held the same competition and the same BTR showed up with 211k miles on the odometer. While not officially included in the test, it was nonetheless faster than the 288GTO tested and a Countach QV, as well as beating an AMG Hammer and Ferrari Testarossa amongst others. The only cars to beat it were a Ruf CTR, a Porsche 959 and a Koenig modified 911 Turbo tuned by RS Tuning.
