I love Francesca. I love how Ramona Milano plays her. All the many changing facial expressions. The way she wears her heart on her sleeve. You would never not know where you stand with Frannie.

immediately after the intro on heaven and earth, when fraser is trying to confess something to rayv and they're dancing around the point for almost a full minute before fraser eventually manages to get out that francesca dropped by his apartment last saturday in the middle of the night "dressed in what can only be described as less than requisite attire" and rayv tells him to beat it before he realizes what he actually just heard and menacingly advances on fraser to ask if fraser slept with his sister and fraser gets wide-eyed and politely alarmed and goes "did she say that?" so rayv tells him no because he doesn't talk about sex with his sister so suddenly fraser goes "oh, well, very well. forget that i mentioned it" and literally SPRINTS away, and then we get a tiny little moment of the A plot interrupting rayv before he goes after fraser ("hey benny!") and as he walks the hall we (the camera) run into francesca and start following her as she dramatically recounts the saturday night events to elaine, and francesca says in ramona milano's ever perfect and hilarious delivery, "okay, i'm standing at his door, i drop my coat, i look at him - and he looks at me [long pause] … you know how a squirrel looks, just before you hit 'em?" and then she just WALKS AWAY leaving elaine to stare after her in something like slightly horrified disbelief with judgment mixed in, and then we cut to fraser, stopped in his escape by the need to GIVE PEOPLE DIRECTIONS (of course) who is caught by the arm by rayv and then DRAGGED INTO A CLOSET (again. of course), which we see from the outside as it closes, only to cut to the inside and rayv trying to start a sentence but being interrupted by a gentle "uhruwwwr!", so we cut back to the outside of the closet, the door of which opens to expel dief (next fandom discourse: rayv OUTED dief. how DARE he), and then ray says he's upset ("you can tell me exactly what happened with my kid sister in that apartment, or one of us isn't leaving this closet alive.") and so fraser recognizes this ("you're upset." "that would be correct.") and then fraser explains that he had no choice because "the door just opened and she was standing there. and then when she took off her coat there was very much more of her standing there", and then he refuses to tell rayv if he slept with francesca because it woulDN'T BE CHIVALROUS but he also tries to say he would understand if ray felt the need to "call him out" (call-out post for benny: MY ADULT SISTER WANTS TO SLEEP WITH HIM AND I'M FEELING WEIRD ABOUT IT) but before they can hash that out they're interrupted by elaine, knocking on the closet door, who then tells ray that someone wants to see him so ray leaves (the closet) and tells fraser to stay where he is (in the closet) and then elaine (from right outside the closet) is judgmentally looking at fraser (in the closet) and going "can i ask you a personal question? francesca?" and fraser gets his squirrel-about-to-be-hit look and goes "francesca..." and elaine says "vecchio." and fraser says "vecchio." and then he smiles uncomfortably at elaine while he reaches past her to close the door. to the closet. which he is still in. that's when i remember due south is the funniest show on earth, actually.

https://www.satmareanul.net/2021/12/01/bienala-jurnal-de-virus-la-muzeul-de-arta-din-satu-mare/
Week 6 : Digital Citizenship 2 : Activism & Protest
It’s shocking to see social media take over our lives; and this doesn’t discount activism. According to Fuentes (2014), digital activism is what we know as a form of activism that uses the Internet and digital media to take action. Social media has become one of the many ways activism is supported today.
The Women’s March all began with a post on Facebook. Once it went viral, it was decided by the leaders of the march that they would protest on the streets of Washington; therefore extending the protests offline. This event became the largest single day protest in US history (Nicolini & Hansen 2018).
Tumblr media
What is digital citizenship and why is it important?
New media has enabled digital citizenship. Digital citizens “use technology for political information to fulfill their civic duty...”. This means that digital citizenship extends community rights to an online space without geographical restrictions (Wright 2008). It’s important as every citizen has the responsibility to take action because they are members of society. In the same way, we can talk about civic duty when taking part in activism online. This is why digital citizenship is important because people can come together and enable one another to exercise their rights as citizens more effectively. The internet has afforded us to learn more about citizenship and civic duty. Many people including youth often surf the internet and as a result, they find themselves becoming engaged in political and civic issues. However, it also encourages a culture of ‘slacktivism’ where activism becomes passive (Does the internet make for more engaged citizens 2011).

Sub-activism & everyday activism
Tumblr media
(photo: Alyssa Milano popularized the #MeToo movement with just a single tweet)
Social media has provided networked public's for people of all ages to interact, learn and be educated and as such, activism/ even everyday activism (like protesting for your favorite character to be in a McDonald’s Happy Meal) can start if public’s voice their complaints or opinions that eventually attract a lot of attention and some might even grow to become a movement!
Tumblr media
‘Sub-activism’ is a kind of politics that are often small scale individual decisions with political reference and that covers everyday life (Feenberg & Friesen 2012). Young people without strong civic identity take part in sub-activism. For example, the hashtag #EverydaySexism encourages women to tweet about their everyday sexism stories and build their identities as feminists.
Tumblr media
Personal experience with digital activism
Tumblr media
I have taken part in digital activism by signing petitions online. I have particularly signed petitions with UNICEF and encouraged my friends on social media to do the same and these petitions have made it easier for me to participate in digital citizenship. After signing the petitions, UNICEF would email people on the latest updates after a petition is signed. With every petition signed, it would then be brought to decision makers, and once the petition is successful, UNICEF would inform those who signed that they would be taking action. In a way, this assurance gives us more confidence that they are doing something and would make us feel less like ‘slacktivists’.

Ideas are Bulletproof
Week 6 Digital Citizenship:Activism and Protest
Fuentes (2014) describes digital activism as a form of activism that uses the Internet and digital media to take action on issues of society. As social media becomes an inseparable part of modern living, engagements with activist movements and ideologies are inevitable.
Tumblr media
It is for the most part, felt around the world that online networking has helped instances of activism to succeed. Despite the revolutions for human rights, the mass uprisings against cultural issues and the wave of bravery incited by social media, social media has also uncovered some significant dangers, which activists need to comprehend on the chance that they need to be effective in communicating on online platforms.
Social activism describes an expansive scope of actions which are targeted to inform and empower a society or specific gathering. The ideal social activist works in groups to voice opinions, teach facts and disturb existing issues for change, focusing on global emergencies.
Let’s explore the topic through hashtags
#BlackLivesMatter
A standout amongst the most critical online activism waves is the #BlackLivesMatter hashtag. Made in 2013 after the release of George Zimmerman – a policeman who shot to death Trayvon Martin, a 17-years of age dark man – this hashtag was utilized approximately 30 million times on Twitter with 17,002 mentions each day. The purpose behind this achievement is American Black community's desire to be seen and comprehended. It is the longing to indicate there are a multitude of voices with a singular opinion despite the fact that they are considered as a minority. Behind this hashtag, there is the open door for them to demonstrate that power lies in numbers and that they can act to make things in the world around them change.
#MeeToo
A later activism storm that took the world is #Metoo. One year prior, the celebrated Hollywood entertainer Alyssa Milano supported all ladies who had ever been explicitly harassed to compose 'me tool' as a status. Before long, a great many women, celbrities and entertainers as well as the general polution, addressed her tweet around the world. Utilized in excess of 2 million times in 85 nations in just 2 days, #MeToo has been adjusted in numerous dialects: #YoTambien in Spain, #QuellaVoltaChe in Italy, #BalanceTonPorc in France or even #أنا كمان in Arab nations.
Behind these hashtags are ideas that have no leaders to be followed, no media bias and no holds barred for the achievement of justice.
Tumblr media
In any case, other research contends that while this cutting edge type of activism may build investment in online activism movements, it may only make the impression of activism. Or on the other hand it might even have negative impacts on the engagement of citizens. People may absorb the information presented by an online activist campaign and even begin to consider themselves as part of it however only follow the movement passively, with no real impact on real world actions.
Whether you're an activist or slactivist, online activism will continue to be a driving factor behind the biggest cultural, societal changes we continue to see in the future.
