So, For a school project we had to do a family tree, and my family didn’t qualify for the amount of people. (Yeah. I know. Icky) so I decided to do my project on the Goths, and I got so many amazing photos! Anyway, here they are.

The band, a couple of teens from the village, finally made their way to the stage and began to play a couple of their original songs. The villagers made their way to the dancefloor and Snow followed suit, only to become overcome with fear and anxiety. All of the people, the huge crowd. She could be hiding anywhere among them and if not Estrella, someone else there to harm her. She needed to get out of there - and fast.

A brief analysis of the Sunset Valley Goth family graves in The Sims 3

I've been meaning to do this for some time, since I used one observation from this within my story. But there are a few interesting points in the Sunset Valley Goth family graveyard in The Sims 3, which I've not seen touched upon in detail in any of the videos I've watched about the Goths. Notably, what's around each grave.

Let's start with Cornelia's family.

Simon Crumplebottom - Cornelia's father

Simon's grave is marked with the smallest tombstone - a tablet - which means he died having earned a total of less than 75,000 Lifetime Points. (This total includes those spent during the lifetime.)

His body is shown as buried within a sarcophagus. Traditionally, sarcophagi were used to bury wealthy people, and leaders.

The only other thing beside his grave is an Ornamental Plumb Tree. There is no such exactly-named plant in real life, but this is clearly a Sims version of the Ornamental Plum Tree, whose meaning is that of hope after enduring a long cold season.

Simon died of old age.

Prudence Crumplebottom - Cornelia's mother

Prudence's grave is marked with the medium sized gravestone, which means she died having earned between 75,000 and 149,999 Lifetime Points.

Flanking her headstone are two evergreens, symbolising eternal life, since evergreens retain their leaves during winter.

Prudence died of old age.

Now let's look at Gunther's family.

Victor Goth - Gunther's father

Victor's grave is central to the Goth family graveyard. His gravestone is the largest one available - a pillar - which means he died having earned more than 150,000 Lifetime Points.

Surrounding his grave is a dark Hilt & Foil Fence with two gates - presumably so his gravestone can be accessed for cleaning - the corners of which are adorned with a total of four evergreens. As with Prudence's grave, these symbolise eternal life, since evergreens retain their leaves during winter.

Victor died of old age.

Gretle Goth - Gunther's mother

Gretle's grave has the most items around it. Her gravestone is the medium-sized one, which means she died having earned between 75,000 and 149,999 Lifetime Points.

Planted beside her grave is an Ornamental Plumb Tree (as per the one planted beside Simon Crumplebottom's grave, this is a Sims reference to the Ornamental Plum Tree, whose meaning is that of hope after enduring a long cold season).

Between the tree and the gravestone is a pot of Calla Lilies. Lilies are traditionally mourning flowers and their white variants are often associated with rebirth and resurrection (they're frequently used in churches around Easter, as well as in funeral wreaths), but in The Sims 3 we only have the pink variant. Pink Calla Lilies are rarer than white ones, and they symbolise love, admiration, appreciation, and oftentimes also romance.

Of greatest interest here, though, is the bench positioned facing the grave. Somebody clearly comes here for some peaceful time, and to be close to Gretle's final resting place.

Gretle died of old age.

Finally, the mystery...

Lolita Goth - unknown

Lolita's gravestone is the smallest type - a tablet - which means she died having earned a total of less than 75,000 Lifetime Points.

The only ornamentation on Lolita's grave are three plots of planted daisies, which have many different meanings, including: innocence, purity, hope, patience, simplicity, and loyal love.

Lolita died of electrocution.

I'm not here to debate all the theories about Lolita: about whether she's actually Frida Goth, or whether she's based on the Nabokov novel (and, if so, which male Sim was 'her' Humbert Humbert). I'm just going to mention what I've used for my story.

In my personal headcanon, Lolita is Gunther's first wife, who died in a tragic accident. In The Sims 3, electrocution only happens after a Sim has already been shocked once: if they're shocked again while still in their 'singed' state, that's the point where they die of electrocution.

There are a few electrical items in the Goth household in Sunset Valley: a fridge, the oven (which clearly is the kind that has electric rings rather than gas burners), five table lamps, four floor lamps, and a number of ceiling lamps. You could also count the Audio Lite portable stereo in Mortimer's room, but - given its portability - it's clearly battery-powered rather than mains-powered. But any number of these items could have been purchased more recently.

When resurrected, Lolita's main everyday outfit looks very 1960s in style, with her mini-dress reminiscent of the style of Mary Quant, and her long hair held back with a wide hairband. Her formal outfit is a little more eclectic, being a corseted long dress, but her sleepwear and swimwear are both flowered, and - of course - the 60s were known as the Flower Power era.

Granted, this doesn't quite fit the assumed timelines of the Sims games (which are kind of all over the place anyway). One item description in The Sims 2 seems to date that game to around the early 2000s. Since TS2 takes place 50 years after TS3, this puts TS3 at around the 1950s. However... the 1950s didn't feature many of the types of item found in the base game, including the Audio Lite portable stereo in Mortimer's room (which resembles something more from the 1980s than the 1950s).

So, just who is tending the graves of the women on Gunther's side of the family? The graves for Cornelia's side of the family have decorations that require little maintenance: occasional trimming of the evergreens and a wipe-down of the gravestones.

But for Gretle and Lolita Goth? There's that pot of flowers for Gretle, which would - in reality - need watering. There are planted flowers for Lolita, which would - again, in reality - need weeding and watering. Gretle's grave also has a bench facing it, which means someone goes to sit out there sometimes. Maybe Gretle passed before Victor, and he put the bench there, or maybe Gunther added the bench. But someone is tending those two graves.

ETA: As if to make a point, in the game that I started up to take these screenshots, Victor came out to haunt on the full moon, and sat by Gretle's grave :'(

“What I Did This Weekend,” by Max Santoro

On Saturday morning I had a soccer game. I’m glad our games are on Saturdays because Dad wouldn’t let me play if they were on Sunday. We played the Newcrest Thunder and we won 4-1.

On Saturday afternoon I went to the St. Petronella’s fall festival with my mom, my brothers, my little sister, and her friend. We saw Simone Nichols there. Simone goes to public school, but she goes to church here and comes to our youth group. I like her because she is nice and good at sports.

Simone's friend Poppy was there too. She isn't a Catholic, but she is nice and my mom says it is okay to hang out with her. We all roasted marshmallows and played horseshoes together.

My mom’s favorite part of the fall festival is drinking apple cinnamon lattes. She says they taste even better than the ones at Starcups.

My favorite part of the fall festival is carving pumpkins. I wanted to bring mine home and put it on our porch, but Dad says that carving pumpkins is a pagan tradition. So I left it at the festival so everybody could see the cool face I made.

Everything was going good until my sister Zelie and her friend Emily went to get some candy. Mrs. Crumplebottom was in charge of the candy booth...and she is the SCARIEST part of Halloween!!!!

This story starts on Instagram and is composed for its limitations: the frame size and number of images. I always enjoy seeing it reposted here because of how it cascades together but this one feels really chaotic, maybe too much. ::shrug::

Most of Henford turns out for the party (with some notable exceptions)! Antonia knows the women through the co-op, and there are other connections. We see: • Jessica Parsnip (she’s my creation and founder of the women’s art co-op in Finchwick.) • Sara Scott, owner of the Gnome’s Arms pub, and longtime friend • Ian Moody and Derek McMillan: neighbors and longtime acquaintances; we saw a young Ian when Antonia told Noe about Aunt Augie in the first flashback • Then finally: Simon Scott and the Scott twins, Dina and Sloane. (The game named them.) My fam is obsessed with the babies! How could you not be? • Agatha Crumplebottom and Cecilia Kang, from the co-op. Agatha may have been teasing about inviting Agnes; she knows her cousin’s reputation and temperament. Agnes won’t let Agatha keep her dirty (Agnes’s word) pottery wheel in their house so she joined the co-op. • The Watson family: Thomas was in the pub when Antonia and Noe first officially met so there’s a long if casual acquaintance, and Rahmi is in the co-op. • Mayor Lavina Chopra and Rahul: Lavina is in the co-op

Joan asks Maira Watson why she doesn’t see her at school and Maira says she goes to school in Finchwick. In my sim world, every town has their own elementary school (we want to make things easy on the littles) but the high schools are larger and more consolidated. Axl probably went to the Finchwick school but since he went to Copperdale for high school, Antonia and Noe decided to put the littles into the elementary school there. I’ve put Copperdale outside of Britechester so the area is sort of an education center. There’s a high school in Windenburg that would be next closest, but even some of the kids there make the trip to Copperdale because of its state-of-the-art reputation.

Antonia borrowed extra tables and chairs from the Finchwick village hall and she decorated like crazy.

Pleasantview Ancestors Hunger Games : Day 2, Midnight

Once again, it's time to get rid of two contestants. Let's see who's safe.

Well, obviously, we still have the same three as last time, that being Bella, Benjamin and Tango. But adding to that, we have :

Agnes Crumplebottom, with one Cleaning skill point!

Bob Newbie, with that Body skill point we saw him gain earlier!

Flat Broke, with his last-minute Cleaning skill point!

Nicolo Lothario, also with a Cleaning skill point!

And finally, Simon Crumplebottom, with a Body skill point!

That leaves us with 49 contestants. Once again, rolling two random numbers... and our two eliminated contestants are...

Mags Newbie, who was sadly too late to get a skill point with bowling, and ends up in 57th place...

...and Victor Goth, who doesn't seem too bothered by the situation, and ends up in 56th place.

Quite shocking. [gets shoved off stage to loud booing]

Wow. Mags dies next to them and everyone goes to mourn Victor on the other side of the Lot. At least that got the hunger strikers to move.

The bed room is already crowded enough, guys, seriously? At least you're not in the Reaper's way for now, he's dealing with Mags over there. Seriously, doesn't a single one of you care that she died? Even Bob Sr. is crying over Victor instead of his wife.

PT7 and Skip : "WE ARE STILL ON HUNGER STRIKE!"

There's food right there- Fine, whatever. Your funeral. You two are probably gonna die next.

I'm back with a few photos from my Beginning of Pleasantview hood. I'm using the sims from here, most edited facially, and the empty hood here, with a few extra lots, and edits by me.

First we have Victor and Gretle Goth, from the infamous Goth dynasty, who welcome into their home Benjamin Burb, Kynda Pleasant and Lina Darong. After dinner, the Goths celebrate Victor's promotion in the Business career, and I hear chimes - baby Cornelia or Gunther are on their way! Victor has a quiet drink to toast to the next generation of Goths 🥂

Next we have another rich, fancy family consisting of Simon and Prudence Crumplebottom. While Simon is off fighting crime in his Law Enforcement career, Prudence practises on the barre for her Dance career. After work, they welcome to dinner Kynda Pleasant, Benjamin Burb and Gretle Goth. Gretle thinks it is most uncouth of Benjamin to help himself to their hosts bar full of drinks! She has no problem sneaking off to play with their collection of toy robots though... 🤖 And once the guests are gone, it's off to bed with Prudence and Simon, no chimes this time though.

The Crumplebottom family, a nice bunch of magical folk.

Simon Crumplebottom (Will probably get a makeover) Simon specialises in creating new verbal spells by studying languages and different cultures he writes and teaches the topic too. Main ability is Omnilingualism.

Prudence Crumplebottom Is the democratically elected Sorceress of Light in Simnation, her specialty is non verbal magic. Her main ability Barrier magic, she can isolate groups and places.

Robert Crumplebottom Eldest and only son of Simon and Prudence. He has a limited form of Telekinesis so he can move things with his mind but hasn’t explored how far he can take it. He wants to mainly use his power for entertainment.

Cornelia Crumplebottom Simon and Prudence’s middle child. She can use magic for healing and regrowth. Uses it for gardening.

Agnes Crumplebottom The families youngest child. Her main power is Mediumship, she can speak to ghosts. She avoids it as much as possible.
