It's been nearly five months now, my entire family is giving up the stirke and falling into propoganda, and every time i think "surely this is the end, no way the us will keep supporting this, israel is on limited time" i keep seeing no end in my twitter feed to the countless losses, i keep seeing gore and childrens butchered on my tiktok. i dont wanna lose hope or faith but ive started feeling so depressed these days that i dont even wanna open my social media because i know what ill see. it might sound selfish but i hope i can open up my tiktok and see silly little people doing trends again instead of seeing one between 6 posts asking to use filters so that they can donate and detailing the necessities that israel banned from palestine and it just feels so soul crushing and hopeless. it makes me feel worse because if im tired of it then how do palestanians cope being in it? if you have any tips or good news id be grateful

hi anon. A lot of what Palestinians report first-hand is graphic, and horrifying, and would contribute to that soul-crushing feeling. But they are so tenacious, they have so much love for their people, their country. Often, Bisan or Motaz or Plestia when she was still in Gaza will share little slices of joy from displaced Palestinians. It reinvigorates me, and I'll often return to watch them when things seem dire.

With the Fallout tv show looking worrisome and the Bethesda games straying from the original games’ themes, I propose that we true fans start a crowdfunding campaign to make the fan film to end all fan films, something that will honor the spirit of the original games and surpass the recent “official” stuff by returning to a darker, more horror-based tone. Whether we raise 20k or over 100k, we won’t need to compensate the VFX people we hire because it’s a fan film, why should they expect to be paid for their time and effort? It’s all about the exposure.

I took this photo in March of last year while in staying in Salt River, Cape Town. I ashamedly knew very little concerning the the 75 yr struggle that Palestineans had endured up until that time, and more importantly how its presence in Salt River revealed particularly sinister reminder of the global and interconnected struggle against neocolonial apartheid. Ahead of the ICJ hearing today, I began to reflect on my experience as a humble visitor of CT, a space that had resisted apartheid and persecution for 50 years at the hands of the same forces that are bombing Gaza at this very moment. I realized last year that my education up until that point was successful in conceslinv Salt River’s history of forced segregation, economic exploitation, and purposeful elimination of a community that was just one of many in SA. Apartheid isn’t just an abstract concept left to for historians to define or humanitarians to resolve. It’s a series of continued choices and policy changes brought down by our elected politicians all over the world as they work to maintain the demented and racist lie that one group of souls must enjoy the fruits of this earth at the violent expense of another.

Dehumanization campaigns on behalf of the state will never fail to do its job effectively, and us as a collective will continue to believe that these actions of violence are common and even necessary. These were the same campaigns that conceal/distort the history of my own ancestors as revolutionaries who were able to rise above the western imperialist project in 1804 as citizens of the first free black republic 🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹 I’ve had to weep at the stories of my relatives and the conditions of my ancestors as they continue to pay the price for daring to escape from a sinister, systemic, and never-ending violence under the cruelest form of apartheid, chattel slavery. Resistance has and always willl be a continuing struggle against western hegemony and their hunger to reproduce the same value as the Transatlantic Slave Trade once did! We are fighting against the will of empires that view the labor, land, minerals of the global south as spoils of the game to win and not intrinsically tied to the indigenous that have/will continue to live there. Since columbus crossed into these shores and shifted the global order in favor of mass migrations and conquest, the world has never seen a turning tide in favor of restorative justice. We live in an age of globalized aparthied whether that therm is recognized or not by the state.

The place where I was set to study apartheid as it was EXPERIENCED, not as it was written after the fact, was itself a historical rembrandt of the Continuous Struggle. story having the familiar ending of spirits young and old gone in seconds by the “wrong” missle, or a “mistakenly”dropped bomb, or a “stray” bullet. Spirits so quickly taken away and never seen again in this realm. Imagine my shock when I passed the Statement of Significance (ZOOM IN) that welcomed visitors of the center. in CAPE TOWN SA, upholding its legacy as the literal first colonial outpost the slave trade for centuries! 30 YEARS AGO the imperial DA Party felt that the safety of the state could only be ensured though the dropping of a bomb here in 1987(Read Above). Despite this, I was able to enjoy a building that was standing tall and continued to be a center for education and community gathering despite this!

Crazily enough I was graciously given a tour of Salt River shortly after hearing the history of the SR Community Center and it’s activists, and was given incredible retelling of the street art located here. Not only fighting the hisotry of apartheid era violence, street artists of today’s time are struggling with state sanctioned gentrification efforts simultaneously eliminating the freedoms of expression and collective action calling for the end to Palestinean apartheid. Despite this, the level of Palestinean solidarity displayed so clearly across the homes of SR residents was incredible to witness despite hearing their bloody history of their oppression and continued resistance.

Bottom line, not only does the struggle persist, it is carelesslessly replicated and repackaged until it is acceptabe enough for us stomach on our TLs or news channels years after the fact. Genocides, ethnic cleansing, slavery, all exist and are being documented live! If you are so blissfully unaware…could you look back at your present self and take that as an excuse? if your children asked you where you were and asked what you stood for years from now, would you want to answer ‘I had no idea?’ You know what’s going on. you know that the carnage that has taken place is unconscionable!!! the people we elect, the state, whatever you want to call it at this point, has never atoned for their collective sins of the past few centuries. Not with actual fucking reparations, we’re far beyond expecting anything close to receiving back the value of systemic violence that was never contained. all that the opressed ask is to LEAVE US ALONE!!! it’s that simple. Stop sending your bombs! Stop sending your diplomats! Stop sending your twisted policies. This is only my second election cycle and I refuse to play these fucking mind games. Not that I belive voting really matters atp, but we must take back power where we can get it. I am of the opinion that this only comes from demanding MORE from OURSELVES than the people that end up on our voting ballots! How have you genuinely re-examined your position in this world and used the thinkers of today to challenge your position?

All I can ask of this world is for us to question where our collective allegiance rests. Are you fighting for or against western neocolonialism it’s quite literally that simple. the other side is clearly operating under delusion. this delusion…no this privilege…clearly knows no bounds! Our collective consciousness has long been shattered. From 🇭🇹 to 🇿🇦 to 🇵🇸 no land on this earth has been untouched by the dropping bombs and destroying community/culture in the name of successful western diplomacy. What can be changed is our individual alignment towards rge support of the oppressed, the dismantling of global apartheid, . Youtube/Google/Public Libraries are free belovedss 💔 If you have an iphone you can take a couple hours to hear the other side for maybe the first/only time in your life. play it in the background of whatever you need to do but even at 2x speed if you have to! challenging your own mind is the bare minimum…

Taras Kopansky is the Ukrainian artist who created the art, "Metahutsulka" for the cover. His piece is inspired by Mykola Senkovsky’s famous 1926 photograph “Old Hutsulka” that won the Grand Prix at the European International Exhibition in Paris.

Let's go for an obscure one...what can you tell us about Benjamin Harrison?

Benjamin Harrison was the grandson of William Henry Harrison, who got into politics partly to live up to the family legacy, and party out of a sense of duty to live a life of public service. By all accounts, he wasn't a natural politician--his handshake was compared to "a dead fish wrapped in brown paper", and his enemies said that talking to him was "like talking to a hitching post". Political cartoons at the time showed him as a little guy (he was 5'6") dwarfed by his grandfather's hat, and there was a general idea that he couldn't live up to his more famous ancestor's legacy.

But he was also a decent, upstanding guy who was friendly with people he knew well, and who loved kids and dogs. Stories were told about stray dogs that liked him so much that they would try to follow him into his law office.

Harrison was a precursor to some of the things that Teddy Roosevelt later became famous for. He signed the Sherman Anti-Trust Bill that fought against big business, and he was heavily involved in conservation. He created the national forests, and he was the first president who was involved in trying to make conservation laws to save a specific species. He tried (though unsuccessfully) to regulate hunting of fur seals in international waters.

Harrison is the president in the middle of the Grover Cleveland sandwich--his term sat between Cleveland's two separate terms--because the elections at that time were won by narrow margins, thanks to a pretty even split between the two parties and a bunch of newer parties eating into the votes. Both guys were pretty chill about the whole thing. Supposedly, when Cleveland and Harrison were riding together to Harrison's inauguration, Cleveland held his umbrella to protect his victorious opponent from the rain.

When Harrison ran for a second term, his wife died two weeks before the election. After he lost, people sent him condolences about the election and his wife, but Harrison said he barely noticed the election, because that loss was nothing compared to the loss of his wife of nearly forty years.

One last thing: after the Presidential episode about Harrison focused so heavily on him being this boring, upstanding, decent guy, I was very amused to find this speech from him after James Garfield was nominated as presidential candidate at the 1880 Republican Convention.

I am not in very good voice to address the convention. Indiana has been a little noisy within the last hour, and, though the Chairman of this delegation, I forgot myself so much as to abuse my voice. I should not have detained the convention to add any word to what has been said in a spirit of such commendable harmony over this nomination, if it had not been for the over partiality of my friends from Kentucky, which whom we have had a good deal of pleasant intercourse. They insist, sirs, as I am the only defeated candidate for the Presidency on the floor of this convention, having received one vote from some misguided friend from Pennsylvania, who, unfortunately for me, didn't have staying qualities, and dropped out on the next ballot. I want to say to the Ohio delegation that they may carry to their distinguished citizen who has received the nomination at the hands of this convention my encouraging support. I bear him no malice at all. But, Mr. Chairman, I will defer my speeches until the campaign is hot, and then, on every stump in Indiana, and wherever else my voice can help on this great Republican cause to victory I hope to be found.

Let's just say I did not expect Mr. Boring and Straight-Laced to show up with a speech that could be read as, "I lost my voice because I yelled so much at the guys from Kentucky."

What a weird little ritual he had developed, hanging around middle schoolers whilst they studied, sometimes helping, sometimes distracting. Tonight's homework was particularly dry, and it wasn't as if Dimple decided to listen to the other read aloud closely, just some basic history. He was in the middle of wondering if he should just call it and go find something more interesting to watch, because surely paint drying would be more fascinating. No wonder Shou had trouble staying focused sometimes.

Almost simultaneously did both boy and ghost snap back to reality right as the kid look over and ask one of the most off-the-wall questions Dimple had heard in a long while. And he thought Shigeo could throw him for a loop! More than that, it was kind of irritating. The gall of this brat!

❝ Huh!? ❞  Zooming in closer to Shou's space, the ghost's floating visage twisted into one of annoyance, exaggerated by how he tended to be sort of yanki in demeanor or more likely low-tier thug.

near death experience… for  as  long  as  marielle  can  remember,   she’s  always  been  something  of  a  natural  performer.   a  precocious,   outgoing  girl  who  saw  the  world  as  her  stage,   just  as  the  great  bard  once  said.   her  mother  recognised  this  emerging  talent  early  on  and  set  about  utilising  it  as  soon  as  she  could.   mari’s  little  face  was  to  become  a  regular  sight  amongst  advertisement  campaigns  and  bit  parts  on  network  television  shows.   she  worked  steadily  throughout  her  childhood,   attending  performing  arts  school  and  eventually,   graduating  from  drama  school  at  twenty  two.   despite  her  wealth  of  girlhood  experience  in  the  industry  however,   marielle  didn’t  have  much  luck  with  auditions  post-college.   already,   there  was  an  image  she  was  having  difficulty  shedding  but  the  stars  eventually  aligned  when  she  was  hired  to  work  at  a  famous  entertainment  resort  complex  in  orlando.   mari  was  a  character  performer  there  for  three  years,   playing  iconic  princesses  and  mermaids  and  fairies  alike  day  in  and  day  out  and  entertaining  children  endlessly  as  she  did  so.   it  wasn’t  the  best  job  by  any  means,   fending  off  leering  fathers  became  a  pastime  and  her  mother’s  disdain  for  it  all  was  more  than  evident  but  it  paid  the  bills  and  she  was  getting  to  do  what  she  loved…

so,   she  always  persevered.   one  job  she’d  occasionally  perform  was  that  of  the  fairy  during  the  evening  firework  display  the  resort  would  put  on  each  day  in  their  main  park.   it  was  absurd  and  unnerving  and  involved  being  launched  across  a  zip  line  atop  the  park  for  all  the  patrons  to  see  but  it  did  come  with  a  substantial  bonus  so,   who  was  mari  to  turn  it  down?   the  day  was  like  any  other  when  marielle’s  near  death  occurred.   she’d  climbed  to  the  top  of  the  castle  with  her  supervisor,   dressed  in  a  green  mini-dress  and  blonde  wig,   ready  to  make  some  “magic”  before  being  sent  across  the  zip  line  as  usual.   fireworks  burst  into  colour  behind  her,   the  audience  wholly  mesmerised  by  the  display  until  that  adoration  swiftly  turned  to  abject  terror  as  they  watched  in  horror  as  the  fairy  fell  from  her  harness  mid  flight.

the  thing  had  fucking  snapped!   was  all  mari  could  really  string  together  in  terms  of  coherent  thought  as  she  plummeted  to  the  ground,   LED  wings  and  all.   that  and  the  likelihood  of  her  very  imminent  death.   the  bright,   colourful  world  she’d  come  to  know  immediately  fading  to  black  upon  impact  with  the  ground.   ambulances  were  called  soon  thereafter,   just  as  clips  of  what  had  happened  began  circulating  online.   the  entertainment  company  tried  to  subdue  the  coverage  and  bury  the  lede  but  sure  enough,   news  of  actor,   marielle  chettiar  and  the  extensive  injuries  she’d  suffered  under  their  employ  broke  that  very  night  and  nothing  was  to  be  the  same  again.

power… she  used  to  dress  as  a  fairy  for  work  so,   she  became  a  fairy!   sorta.   marielle  possesses  the  unique  ability  to  transform  into  and  subsequently,   access  the  traits  of  a  fairy.   through  a  sparkling  transformation  (   which  used  to  be  triggered  by  a  vocal  command  but  can  now  be  performed  non-verbally   ),   she  shifts  into  her  “supersuit”  and  grows  a  set  of  beautiful  butterfly-esque  wings  which  allow  her  to  fly  with  great  manoeuvrability  and  at  enhanced  speeds.   this  glamorous  transformation  also  grants  her  the  ability  to  produce  fairy  dust,   which  possesses  hallucinogenic  qualities  when  it’s inhaled  or  comes  into  contact  with  skin.   through  her  work  as  an  agent,   she’s  learnt  she  has  an  innate  magical  aptitude  and  often  tests  the  effectiveness  of  her  ability  by  honing  her  hand-to-hand and close  combat  skills  too.

drawbacks / vulnerabilities… when  hit  or  overwhelmed  and  overexerting,   marielle’s  found  she’s  prone  to  detransformation.   which  effectively  powers  her  down  completely  and  often  puts  her  at  great  risk  of  suffering  similar  falls  to  the  one  that  gave  her  the  power  in  the  first  place.   they’re  not  easy  to  recover  from  either,   requiring  a  period  of  rest  and  rejuvenation  before  she’s  able  to  fully transform  into  a  fairy  again.

cerberus corp… in  the  wake  of  a  landmark  workplace  injury  lawsuit  against  the  entertainment  company,   marielle  amassed  a  large  and  very  dedicated  following.   the  proceedings  were  all  public  and  these  fans  saw  what  had  happened  to  her  as  an  injustice,   backing  her  at  every  turn  when  it  came  to  righting  that  immense  wrong.   including  her  new  career  ventures,   which  had  now  expanded  to  modelling  —  wherein  she  debuted  her  fairy  form  to  the  world  and  incidentally  captivated  the  hearts  of  children  all  across  the  globe.   hers  was  a  story  dubbed  “the  american  fairytale”,   a  pr  dream  and  before  she’d  had  time  to  process  it  all,   who  should  knock  on  her  door  but  elena  navarro  herself.   cerberus  corporation  were  interested  in  recruiting  her  and  with  her  aspirations  higher  than  ever  before,   mari  was  quick  to  accept  the  offer.

she’s  been  with  cerberus  corp  for  four  years  now,   since  2019  and  whilst  she’ll  convey  that  it’s  all  been  smooth  sailing…   it  hasn’t  really.   outwardly,   marielle  is  everything  an  agent  should  be.   singularly  dedicated  to  the  cause,   with  her  eye  ultimately  set  on  becoming  a  level  i.   but  she  and  the  corporation’s  pr  team  clash  more  often  than  mari  would  like  to  admit  and  it  all  comes  back  to  that  child-friendly  image  of  hers.   the  one  she  can’t  shed.   because  despite  being  a  woman  grown  with  all  the  adult  needs  and  interests  that  come  with  it,   her  past  and  fantastical  ability  mean  she’s  a  huge  draw  for  the  younger  demographic  of  eo  fans  and  the  corporation  have  stayed  firm  in  their  position  of  not  wanting  that  to  change.   it  leads  marielle  to  act  out  on  missions.   she  plays  fast  and  loose,   living  up  to  her  codename  and  doing  as  she  pleases   (   within  the  confines  of  what’s  been  asked  of  her   ).   she’s  caught  between  a  rock  and  a  hard  place.   perpetually  wanting  to  progress  higher  but  not  at  the  cost  of  who  she  is.

codename… given  that  her  ability  is  so…   self-explanatory,   faerie  was  something  that  came  to  mari  early  on  and  it  caught  on  quick.   of  course,   people  still  spell  and  say  it  as “fairy”  as  well  as  calling  her  by a  spluttering  of  fairy  names  from  pop  culture  but  it’s  faerie  and  she  will  correct  you  if  you  get  it  wrong.   do  shorten  it  to  “fae”  if  you  like  though.   she  doesn’t  mind  that.

MAIDEN CHARMS which are basically bridge keyword done right. if you have say 3 charms of any Battles ability you will be able to purchase Mars charms like BATTLEFIELD GENIUS STYLE and ASCENDING BATTLES HOROSCOPE

sidereal charms are specific, they interact with the celestial bureaucracy but cant be stopped just by bureaucracying, theyre esoteric and funky with it. they include versatile charms in their combat abilities that can work with martial arts!

JOURNEYS

the ascending and descending horoscopes all have this fucking fantastic structure where you can grant a blessing or curse, but you have to have a constellation-themed interaction first. if you see someone feed a street animal you can invoke Stray Dog Gratitude to bless their travels, if you see them abandon something important you can invoke Forsaken Castaway Curse to curse the same

good worker spirit starts with "when the sidereal lies about where she's been" which is fucking primo, this is the translation of one of the old resplendencies that made it hard to catch you slacking off

mysterious traveler wisdom makes you both helpful to people youre traveling with and impenetrable when they try to figure out where the fuck you came from

predestined escort coincidence, which we are all fucking jazzed to see out of the drive charms from shards, lets you throw open the car door horse bridle and give someone a wordless look to tell them you're taking them where they need to go

RESISTANCE: THE MAST

oxbody only gives -0 hls, because it is vital that sidereals look completely unaffected and fine

the mast sways turns you into a fucking pinball puppet who takes knockback instead of allies

strength of the mast makes you stronger, especially if youre the strongest one in teh room

unbroken weave deflection clashes attacks with a disarm gambit because weapons just fucking bounce off?? holy shit

oh my god mast upholds all lets you provide support ie "looming behind someone" and they can use your sta+res successes instead of their own. that is unbelievably fucking funny. also people cant notice you doing this.

RIDE: THE MESSENGER

these charms are horny. there's nothing we can really do about it. setting that aside:

IRON HEART IRON HORSE isnt horny though. it just makes your mount fearless. we love to see it. it will become horny later.

breaking the wild mortal is horny though. sorry vance i'm powerless to deny it. you put a bridle on a guy to make them like you. at least they forget about it

implicit admiralty assumption makes everyone assume you're the superior of whoever's boss in the room. but your eye does shine when you use it, so better wear an eyepatch

disaster-accelerating expedience lets you learn about a disaster in the future and go, hmm. id like that now please. and just make terrible shit happen faster (but it is weakened)

and then dire squall forewarning lets you just introduce a disaster that will befall your ship. have fun!

SURVIVAL: THE SHIPS WHEEL

HWKQJlGGJDF shining flock of adversities lets you turn that into a whirlwind of debris that attacking attacking attacking attacking. or i should say whirlwind of debris and small animals because you can fucking throw your familiar in there too

ooh, and frayed skein entanglement lets you grapple someone from afar by catching the thread of their fate

and now we come to the enlightenment charms, which absolutely made me go MOM holy fuck. the enlightenment charms let you use, say, thrown charms with an SMA, and learn SMA by mastering thrown instead of other martial arts

three-body trilemma is a BANGER name and a banger charm. when you throw a weapon it becomes a juggling act because you swap places with your target and just catch your weapon harmlessly.

flown beyond the world sends you to fucking final destination no items. jesus christ.

ahahahahaha shadow migration tactic lets you throw someones shadow at someone else

The party of the Eidolon campaign I'm in

From left to right:

Jacob: A mildly popular Viewquber trying to balance school, hobbies, his love life, and his minor internet celebrity career, and now has "solving the mysteries of the Undertow" on top of all that.

Dorothy: As a small child, Dorothy was spirited away into the Undertow. When she returned, the missing persons case has been sensationalized as a kidnapping and her dad was in prison. In the years since, her mother has made a fortune on lifetime adaptations of this story, and is now dating one of the stars of these films, right-wing christian actor and republican presidential candidate Kevin Sorbet. Dorothy is in college and trying to solve the mysteries of her past while not breaking the contract of her trust fund.

Snake: A shade in the guise of a human, Snake has been a 21-year-old college student for over 50 years. They are shrouded in mystery, helped by their power to make the knowable unknowable.

Elton (my character): A stray cat adopted by Snake, Elton is coming to terms with the uplifting that comes with gaining an eidolon and being able to think like a human. Regardless, she takes this in stride.

You know a lot about DnD.

How would I make a cult of the lamb sidequest, or even a one shot based on it? Like, I had the idea, but my IQ is in the negatives, and I have writers block, so please help

Hmm, the Cult of the Lamb? Some research was in order but...

I don't mind helping with that:

A Necromancer subboss with abilities around your players' levels assuming they're all lvl 3, but the necromancer is about level 4-5 depending on the number of players/npcs. Likely could throw in a few stray zombie beastkin depending on how long the side quest is supposed to take or number of rests allowed.

Any Undead being to my knowledge can only be beat by crits or radiant damage, or if the summoner is killed/loses for brevity's sake. I'd say that at lower levels, there can be exceptions since not everyone will have radiant damaging attacks. Fire damage can be a substitute if needed, but give cold resistance in that scenario.

Base plot ideas:

A Lamb Beastfolk is having trouble sleeping because of zombies terrorizing the town at night. It turns out that this lamb is the evil one raising them. Setting for the battle could be a church/graveyard.

It could also be a clue gathering mission/special item sidequest. I would think given the death theme, the woundrous item known as the ghost lantern as a potential possession of the Lamb could work too. It's both a lighting source, and with attunement the attuned can use mage hand with it. The Lamb could not have attuned properly and been possessed by the spirit inhabiting the lantern.

Lemme know your thoughts, I wrote a lotta my own campaign from scratch and have a couple WIP books with a few chapters each at least.

I adore the endless creation that flows in ones' mind stronger than riptide currents. I always could use a reason to write or draw.

Not me finding a new way to do an encounter in Baldurs gate 3 and completely subverting my expectations for an NPC and rewarding all the time I’d put into actually searching out information and details about their quest and the situation in a way I wasn’t sure was even possible, and by extension reigniting my hyperfixation on this game because holy fuck no videogame has ever felt as much like playing actual dnd than this game has in this moment.

I was literally cheering as I got the option to use my knowledge to persuade this enemy away from their course of action and change sides and it fucking worked

My #1 post of 2022

Three player Campaign idea: a man possessed by a demon dies and is reanimated as a free willed undead. His ghost, the demon that inhabited him and the zombie body all fight over control.

The three players are the three ‘spirits’ With probably different classes and motivations, and the body is largely the only way that they can influence the world. Maybe also they are tethered to it while otherwise in the ethereal plane so they can’t stray too far from the body for recon and stuff.

This sounds hysterical to me
