I am rewatching both Dream’s and Sapnap’s shock streams and their dynamics are amazing like Dream is soo stressed in his and the way Sapnap (and George too) are able to calm him down is perfect

and in Sapnap is so trusting with Dream, when he is not sure how to get away with the least painful way he readily gives the “control” to Dream to tell him what to do

girl the shock streams were filled to the brim with dreamnap moments! especially in Dream's stream when George went to sleep and it was just Dream and Sapnap :') they're so cozy together, you forget it's a shock stream

and in Sapnap's stream, Dream felt so bad about him not having a shield :') he couldn't say no to him. so sweet. and the beginning bit with Dream yelling whenever Sapnap fell, scaring him? sigh they love to push each other around, don't they?

I think writing fic is mostly making stuff up, even the most canon compliant fic is technically made up and therefore not canon in the traditional sense. And with that logic all fic is made up, and I release you to go wild in your fanfic writing dreams.

Yeah like I definitely agree, it's all just a case of degrees of separation from canon - unless you're writing for the show you're not writing truly canon fic, and even some of the show writers kinda fail at canon compliance lmao.

But tbf different people have different limits for how far they'll go and in what circumstances, and we all have our different preferences in terms of canon compliance (and our own different interpretations of canon to comply to, for that matter. Like straight Hawkeye is technically more canon compliant in terms of creator intent lol but you won't catch me reading anything where Hawkeye is straight.)

So yeah, everyone should definitely write whatever fic they want regardless of canon! But I do have my own personal limits in terms of what lines I want to cross, what's more flexible vs what I can't change without losing interest, even if it's in service to an otherwise interesting scenario.

Like to put my preferences another way, I would be more inclined to write magical AU dubcon featuring a love potion or smthn as a way to facilitate trainwreck Hawk/BJ/Peg, than I would, say, write Hawkeye agreeing to that triad because he's naive enough to think it's actually a good idea, or he loves BJ so much that he'll accept an unbalanced relationship, or he doesn't think he deserves better, etc. That's not My Hawkeye.

(Actually tbf the one non-AU way I think it could work is leaning into Hawkeye quitting his career post-canon in passive giving-up-on-everything depression, maybe his dad dying to make it even worse, and BJ innocently taking advantage, believing he's taking care of him and helping Hawkeye recover when really he's just emotionally manipulating him into becoming his second wife and giving up on his career forever.)

(Or maybe if Hawkeye lost his license...? Alcoholism, or being outed could do it easily. I feel like that could destroy him enough that he'd just cling to anything anyone offered. At least for a while.)

Yes re Scott B for paternal interpretations! Because while I'm sure her parents' relationship breakdown affected her it's been clear throughout that she has a good relationship with Scott. But given that she talked about how she thought she was the daughter Scott B never had, and how involved both he and his wife were earlier on (his wife made her debut era red carpet dresses I believe), there was clearly some level of paternal element too

yeah, it was definitely a betrayal that was familial in its scope. which really adds a layer to the scott b and karlie references throughout her later albums. of course family is how she views these relationships (karlie as a sister, scott b as a father or ex husband.) family is the only language we have to describe relationships that are so significant.

Your Naruto rambles makes me remember that like a year ago or smth, when I was sleep deprived I wrote a new whole ass clan of assassin's (that target corrupted political leaders or something else) with a bloodline of snow.

And then, according to my friends who I rambled this off to, I wrote a whole ass storyline of Naruto meeting one of the heirs (a guy, named karasu akamatsu) and after some mission and investigation shenanigans, somehow fall in love on the way

Took me way too long to realize you were saying “clan of assassins” as in, a clan that’s full of assassins, and not that you rewrote something that was called “clan of assassins” (had to delete my first draft of “oh I don’t think I read that book?”)

I just find out that Koi no Yokan means love at the first sight

"Koi no yokan" actually mean a lil more than that!! Its hard to find a 100% direct translation (because of how complex of a concept it is) but in essence, "koi no yokan" means the feeling that when you meet someone for the first time, you're destined to fall in love with them. Its not necessarily love at first sight, but moreso recognizing the potential that there WILL be love in the future

Whether you experience this feeling consciously or not is up to debate, but i thought it fit the series very well!!

Yes in my mind he does like fun things but can be a little shady about them. It's true he wouldn't like the cold or getting wet but I could easily see a situation where Nikolai and/or Dazai try to get him to have one, only for him to act like he doesn't want to and then hit both of them with absolute precision when they are distracted with throwing them at each other or doing something else 😌
