i can only hope that when the truth comes out they don’t drag the initial betrayal arc only because first and sprite are really so similar and i want first to see that, despite you know sprite technically lying about his identity.

right now first is already taking up for “zee” against half of the entire team. imagine how soft on him he’s gonna be once he finds out “zee” is actually sprite aka a person who is going through all of this just because of parental pressure and rejection and he’s actually just the good sweet boy he appears to be and not even the guy who first’s dad prioritizes!!!! sprites own parents don’t even prioritize him!! sprite is doing this BECAUSE of the ways that they’re similar. he’s just like you. So First (PANYA MCSHANE aka RYAN) can't deny it anymore. He wants to be Zee. However the Zee he wants is actually Zee's twin Sprite. And as the real Zee is on the road to recovery what will happen when old belligerent Zee returns to the volleyball team.

Seems Sprite's only option is to come clean about who he really is.

poor Sprite and First, my idiotic himbo sons, i can see exactly what the narrative is doing to you because i've seen enough shows with story arcs of this nature with the someone hiding their identity giant secret going on but like it still sucks for them.

if First was my friend and came up to me and was like "i've been seeing this guy but suddenly he's swinging back and forth between being super sweet then acting like a total asshole and like he barely knows me and then he tells me to ignore how he behaved when he was like that because he wasn't being his real self" i would absolutely tell him to run far away because that person is abusive. like i hate that even with Sprite obviously not intending it, his behavior paired with Zee's is doing serious damage to First right now. it's not fair and it's not right and i'm not happy about it.

i know that next week is episode 11, which means First will finally find out the truth (even tho he was obviously A HAIR AWAY from figuring it out on his own this whole episode MORE THAN ONCE and i wanted to throw something at the screen) and he'll be hurt and upset and feel betrayed, then the whole team will find out and they will also feel hurt and upset and betrayed because they have more or less finally accepted Sprite, and he's been lieing to them all this whole time, and it won't matter that he's a much better person than Zee.

will they all get over it by episode 12 and everyone will be friends (but not with Zee, screw him, he needs to go to therapy) again and First and Sprite will be able to date for real? obviously yes. that F+Z is going to get turned into an F+S and it's going to be fine. i know that. it's just going to drive me insane for the next week (or two weeks) waiting for the show to finish jumping through the Legally Required Plot Devices before fine will be a thing.

i wish First had found out sooner so we could have gotten some shenanigans of him helping Sprite hide his identity and get through games and etc. there's a lot of missed potential there for things the show could have done in place of The Inevitable Episode Eleven Break Up Drama but episode 11 is about to come crashing down on us and there's nothing we can do to stop it. at least Ryan and Frame have continued to be ABSOLUTELY UNHINGED on social media so we have that to get us through the nonsense.

Poor First. This boy is trapped between two twins and he doesn't even know it. He has one who loves him fiercely and devotedly and one who has always hated him and he has no idea why he's being ping-ponged back and forth between these two extremes.

He deserves the truth but Sprite doesn't think anyone would love him if they knew the real him and so he keeps hoping that pretending to be Zee will get him the love he wants because the only person he knows is loved is Zee... so why not be him?

But First never loved Zee. First hated Zee. First fell in love with Sprite and all the ways he isn't Zee. But Sprite just can't see that.

And so he's hurting First despite loving him because the only parts of himself that he sees as loveable... are the parts that aren't him.

I'm mad for Sprite, and I'm mad AT Sprite because First was kissing him and asked if ZEE was sure. Because First was holding him on their beds while ZEE's initial was lit up. Because they went on a date, and First told ZEE to tell him the truth.

It's the plot, but First likes Sprite and Sprite likes First, BUT ZEE is always present because Sprite can't tell the truth even when it matters more than their mother's volleyball dream.
