The more I look back in the past, the more I sound like a grandma ngl. Cuz yeah sure nowadays there are more advanced stuff, but times back then were a lil simpler.

Like, a certain magical moment of my childhood is coming out of school, seeing the many shops right outside that can get crowded during the afternoon. Each shop sells toys, candy, trinkets, and whatever thing a kid might like for something cheap that anyone can buy. It's like magical in a way cuz after such a stressful day at school, I get to pass by the shops, look at the stuff they're selling, and actually get to buy a thing or two without worrying about the price.

#aria rants #as someone thats taught bout the value of money ever since i was young cuz my mom is hella strict with money #i was really frugal and careful with the money i was given. so much so id end up returning that money to my mom after the school year #and that was in the past around like 2009 before inflation inflated too much #like sure its knockoff stuff. with some painted wrong and the ones painted right got some of their paint over the line #and its completely made of plastic #but the model itself looks good enough for a kid who only cares to have a toy of their favourite game #even if it isnt smth so high quality. and also the fact that i get to buy that with money given to me? #it made me feel so good and excited cuz in my mind it was a toy that i got with my own hands #same with when i got my first pet! it was two hamsters (boy and girl) + their wheel and i bought em using my birthday money #when converted to usd all it costed me was 9 dollars. and the lil knockoff toys? convert to usd it'll literally be less than a dollar #now tho? thats impossible #those shops right out my old school? last i walked along that route. half of the shops were gone and that was #around years before covid happened cuz there were new regulations added that made it hard to set up stalls like that #its been years since i last visited a pet store but with how everything's prices had gone up unreasonably high #i wouldnt be surprised if there isnt anything that you can get for 9 dollars there anymore

something abt realizing you're listening to someone sing for the last time really hits in an awful way

#so there's this girl who's a year above me and to say that she's good at singing is an understatement. if the goddess of song #herself were to appear in front of me or anyone who's ever heard a note come from her mouth and asked which one was more talented the only #appropriate answer would be that the goddess pales in comparison. i first heard her voice at the auditions for our middle school musical in #the sixth grade and i've been in shock and awe ever since. it's in the name of her voice that i decided i wanted to learn how to write musi #bc i cannot sing but wanted nothing more than some sort of reason to stand next to her. and by some twist of fate. i took music theory last #semester and guess who ended up sitting directly next to me. and who i also said no more than maybe 5-10 words to the entire time. . whoops #in my (and her) defense. it's not like she's unapproachable or anything. she's one of the genuinely kindest people i've ever encountered bu #the problem is. it's a music theory class. i was the only one in it not affiliated w the music department. and everyone in it had known eac #other for 4-7 years. even my like. actual friend in the class was ignoring me a lil (he wasn't he was just hanging out w his closer friends #and so i kept to myself the entire semester bc i didn't want to feel like i was intruding on anything + am terminally shy #(like. to the point where i get physically ill bc of it) #flash forward to today in ap world w our song parody project. our teacher was showing past examples from previous classes and guess who too #the class last year. and ofc. you Do Not get [name redacted] working on a project w/out having her sing for you #her group made a stalin-themed mr sandman parody and our teacher paused the video halfway through and it was my own personal 9/11 #bc there's no good reason for our paths to ever cross again. unless she becomes some celebrity. which i have no doubt she could if merit wa #the only factor at play there. i will never hear her voice again and i'm not sure what i'm going to do abt that. #romeo.txt

going back to season 5 behrad wise must be wild. most (if not all) of his plot that season is just related to the whole zari 1.0/zari 2.0 thing so going back from season 7 when he’s a more rounded character to season 5 when he first showed up must be wild

it is interesting bc like. behrad has a complex abt bein in his sister's shadow n somehow that's how he spends most of s5 lol

but like srsly i feel like they try to establish his niche on the team n how he fits into everything - he's a stoner, he's the technician, he's the chill one, he's the "perfect son" trying to escape his sister's legacy, all that. n yet at the same time it feels like we don't find about him until s6.

s5 is for establishing what behrad tarazi is - in this timeline, to the legends, to his sisters. but s6 n s7 (tho mostly in like one episode stints) focuses more on who he is. he's a creative (liking cooking and music), he's a pacifist, he's a romantic, he's also traumatized by childhood fame n probably suffers from anxiety only made worse by literally dying.

and yeah it is weird to be like. looking back n realizing how underdeveloped he was at the start which is really a disservice but i think they tried their best (even with all the stoner jokes) to make behrad feel like a full fledged character n legend. like they had eight episodes before this guy DIED. n i think building that connection to zari 2.0 was important to do as well as makin him his own distinct character from z1 which was an easy trap to fall into
