By • Olalekan Fagbade Military personnel invaded my house, kidnapped four [4] people – MASSOB founder, alleges The founder of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Ralph Uwazuruike, has accused the military of kidnapping four of his security guards. Uwazuruike alleged that military men invaded his country home in Onuimo Local Government of Imo State and abducted the security guards on Sunday night. A statement by Uwazuruike’s Director of Information, Chris Mocha, claimed: “Some Nigerian soldiers stormed my Okwe country home and abducted four of my security details guarding MASSOB Freedom House in Onuimo Local Government. “No provocation led to the abduction and no explanation was offered by the soldiers.” Uwazuruike appealed to the Commander of 32 Artillery Brigade, Obinze, near Owerri, to ensure release of his security men. The Biafra agitator said members of BIM-MASSOB had never been indicted or found wanton by security reports, “because of the peaceful approach to our agitation for Biafra.” Uwazuruike added: “The soldiers arrived at Freedom House in a Navy blue Sienna car sighted the MASSOB security men in front of the gate to the MASSOB Freedom House. The five soldiers walked straight to my security men and started flogging them without any explanation or provocation. “The soldiers, after beating my members, blindfolded them with clothes and whisked them away to an unknown destination.” Reacting, the Army spokesman, Joseph Akubo said soldiers don’t kidnap but only arrest men of questionable character. He, however, said other sister security agencies, such as Navy and Air Force wear army uniforms. “You should also know that Navy and Air Force wear the same uniform like that of the army,” Akubo said.

Imo killings: Soldiers destroy buildings, villagers flee
Tumblr media
Residents of Oriendu in Umualumaku Umueze in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area in Imo State are currently living in fear for their lives following the alleged invasion of the community and destruction of property by security personnel suspected to be soldiers. The community invasion by the armed men came a day after some gunmen killed and set some soldiers, policemen and men of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps ablaze in two patrol vehicles in the community on Tuesday. A video sighted by one of our correspondents showed the destruction of property in the community, even as the narrator alleged that the act was perpetrated by the armed officials. It was gathered that residents of the area were currently living in fear of their lives and decried the burning of houses. The resident who spoke in the video lamented that they were being punished for what they knew nothing about. According to a video, several shops, buildings, properties, food shops and bars were allegedly razed by the rampaging soldiers seeking justice for their colleagues. The roads of the quiet village looked deserted after the soldiers allegedly wreaked a devastating havoc on the community with only a handful of countable residents whose properties were destroyed seen. PUNCH Metro observed from the video that uncountable crates of alcoholic drinks were destroyed, several lockup shops were set ablaze, some shop with pots, plates, chairs were also destroyed. The narrator called on Nigerians to see the unfair treatment meted out to the community. He said, “We have suffered in this community. What do they want us to do in this community? That a crime was committed in this community does not mean that it is Ehime Mbano people that did it. You people should come to our rescue. Shops, bars, event centres and food stalls were all burned down today by the military men of the Nigeria. “The people they destroyed their shops; were they the ones that committed the crime? Please, we are suffering in this community; leave us alone because things are bad. People are crying and asking what did we do?” The narrator in the video added that some indigenes of the community had fled into the bush. A resident of Ehime Mbano, who sells building materials in the area, told PUNCH Metro that the shops and other property destroyed by soldiers belonged to innocent people who knew nothing about Tuesday’s incident. The resident, who pleaded anonymity for the fear of being harmed, said, “The destruction of some shops and drinking joints today in Ehime Mbano by soldiers is not necessary. Shops and tents belonging to pap sellers were destroyed. “They should investigate, arrest those behind the killing of the soldiers and bring them to book and not going setting traders shops and buildings on fire. “The entire place is boiling; I had to close my shop and leave to avoid problem. The heavy presence of soldiers along the road is worrisome.” Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army has denied involvement in any attack or destruction of shops, including drinking joints and restaurants, in Ehime Mbano, Imo State, following the gruesome murder of some security personnel in Umualumaku community on Tuesday. The Assistant Director, Army Public Relations Officer, 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze, Joseph Akubo, in a telephone interview, said he was unaware of any destruction by the men of the force in the area. “Is it that military men came to destroy? Let’s be sure of what you are asking. I am not aware of anything like that. We don’t have a report of anything related to this. “Unfortunately, everybody is bringing on whatever they like, but for now, the military is not conducting any operations around there. I will suggest you speak with the Police PRO. “I think you should speak with the police; they are the ones in charge of internal security. They should be the ones speaking about whatever is taking place.” Also, The Director, Defence Information, Brig. Gen. Tukur Gusau, said he was not aware of the incident. When one of our correspondents called him, he said, “I am not aware.” In a related development, the acting Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, has said that the Nigeria Police Force was committed to inter-agency collaboration to uncover those behind the recent killings of security operatives in Imo State. Reacting to the tragic loss on Wednesday, the IG, through a statement by the Force’s Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the Nigeria Police would leave no stone unturned in order to ensure that those responsible for the killings were apprehended. While extending condolences to the friends, families, and relatives of the deceased officers, Egbetokun further urged anyone with useful information related to the incident to report to the police in order to aid their investigation. Meanwhile, the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, and the governorship candidate of the Labour Party for the November 11 governorship election in the state, Athan Achonu, have condemned the Tuesday killing of security operatives in the state. In separate statements, Uzodimma and Achonu described the killing and reprehensible. In a statement issued by Uzodimma’s spokesperson, Oguwike Nwachuku, the governor, assured the people of the state that the suspects would be caught. The statement read, “Governor Hope Uzodimma has assured the public that those behind the Tuesday killing of security operatives at Ehime Mbano area of Imo State will be fished out and made to face the law. “When Governor Uzodimma visited the scene of the ugly incident accompanied by the Imo State Commissioner of Police and the Director Department of State Services, he expressed sadness over the lives lost. “He assured the people that the state government in collaboration with security agencies would fish out the perpetrators with a view to bringing them to book.” On his part, Achonu asked the state government to become more serious with security in the state. The statement which he personally issued read, “That unconscionable murder of innocent security operatives in the line of duty is reprehensible, highly condemnable and unacceptable in a modern society like ours. “The latest onslaught in the recurrent sparks of violence is more condemnable because it happened in my own constituency.” Read the full article

My reasons for putting Dropbox at the head of the class include the fact that it is widely used, much more so, in fact, than a competitor: Google Drive. There are many ways you could do this but I'm going to recommend one: Dropbox. So, the likelihood that you will need to share files with others is probably pretty high. If you are running or working in a small nonprofit, you are likely depending on volunteers to get some of the work done. More information on this nonprofit management app is available here.
#Nozbe glip review pro#
I recommend the Akubo pro license, which is $400 when billed annually, allows you to store up to 5,000 contacts and includes the event management module. Similarly, when I want to send a quarterly communication to major donors, I can easily cull them from my list, create the message and send it, all from Akubo. Now, when a new contact signs up for an event on our Akubo event page, that contact information is added to Akubo automatically. I had so many different lists of names to reconcile constantly that I thought I was going to lose my mind. I wasted a lot of time early on with separate applications for donor tracking (Exceed), email campaigns (Vertical Response) and Events (Eventbright). Akubo integrates contact information, donation history, email newsletter and event management functionality. AkuboĪkubo is a web-based software product for managing your contacts, donors/sponsors, email newsletters, and events. Here are my top ten nonprofit management apps for saving your sanity as a nonprofit leader and advancing your nonprofit's cause (and 5 out 10 are freeor have free versions): 1. If you are going to build a base of donors or sponsors, moreover, you are going to need to build an email list and track and communicate with the people on that list in a professional way. If much of advancing your nonprofit's cause rests on your shoulders, you need a few tools that will help you lighten that load.

Rather, we do so in a spirit of faith and hope, knowing that the faithful departed share in the resurrection of Christ and live in communion with us.
FIRST READING
He accepted them like a sacrificial burnt offering. A reading from the Book of Wisdom(Wisdom 3:1-9c) (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); The souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and no torment will ever touch them. In the eyes of the foolish they seemed to have died, and their departure was thought to be an affliction, and their going from us to be their destruction; but they are at peace. For though in the sight of men they were punished, their hope is full of immortality. Having been disciplined a little, they will receive great good, because God tested them and found them worthy of himself; like gold in the furnace he tried them, and like a sacrificial burnt offering he accepted them. In the time of their visitation they will shine forth, and will run like sparks through the stubble. They will govern nations and rule over peoples, and the Lord will reign over them for ever. Those who trust in him will understand truth, and the faithful will abide with him in love, because grace and mercy are upon his elect. The word of the Lord.
RESPONSORIAL PSALM Psalm 23: 1-3.4.5.6 (R.1 or 4)
R. The Lord is my shepherd, there is nothing I shall want. OR: Though I should walk in the valley of the shadow of death, no evil would I fear, for you are with me. The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want. Fresh and green are the pastures where he gives me repose. Near restful waters he leads me; he revives my soul. He guides me along the right path, for the sake of his name R/. Though I should walk in the valley of the shadow of death, no evil would I fear, for you are with me. Your crook and your staff will give me comfort. R/. You have prepared a table before me in the sight of my foes. My head you have anointed with oil; my cup is overflowing. R. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. In the Lord’s own house shall I dwell for length of days unending. R/. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
SECOND READING
“Since we are now justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.” A reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Romans (Romans 5:5-11) Brethren: Hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. While we were yet helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. Why, one will hardly die for a righteous man— though perhaps for a good man one will dare even to die. But God shows his love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we are now justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. Not only so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. The word of the Lord.
ALLELUIA
Alleluia. Come, O blessed of my Father, says the Lord; inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
GOSPEL
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John (John 6:37-40) At that time: Jesus said to the crowds, “All that the Father gives me will come to me; and him who comes to me I will not cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me, and this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose noting of all that he has given me, but raise it up at the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that every one who sees the Son and believes in him should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.” The Gospel of the Lord. Prayer of the Faithful Christ will raise them up. PRIEST: My brothers and sisters, we are called by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ to share his risen life with God our Father. Let us pray with renewed confidence to the Lord for all the needs of the Church and world. READER:  For the Pope, bishops and priests, (pause) let them continue to proclaim the glorious resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord, who came that we all might have life without end. Pause Father, have mercy;  and give us life everlasting we pray Oh Lord. For those who struggle for peace in the world, (pause) let them realize that life on earth is but the reflection of life in heaven, and let them continue their efforts to bring all sections of the community together in perfect peace and harmony. Pause Father, have mercy;  and give us life everlasting we pray Oh Lord. For those who are bereaved, (pause) as they pray for the repose of the souls of their loved ones, let them be assured by the hope that one day they will be reunited with those they have loved and lost awhile. Pause Father, have mercy; and give us life everlasting we pray Oh Lord. For greater confidence in the resurrection, (pause) let the hope of eternal life comfort all Christians in their daily lives, so that everything they say and do is measured by the promise of their resurrection. Pause Father, have mercy; and give us life everlasting we pray Oh Lord. In silence, we pray for our own intentions to God, our loving Father. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); PRIEST: Father, we offer you our humble prayers, knowing that you will answer them because you have promised us eternal life. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Today's Reflection
Jesus’ comforting words in today’s Gospel captures well the meaning of the occasion we celebrate: “that I should lose nothing of all he has given me but raise it up at the last day.” The souls in purgatory are not lost; though imperfectly, they lived their lives believing in Jesus. Our prayers keep us in contact with them and help us not to forget them. They await what is promised them: eternal life, and our prayers hasten that for them. It is comforting to know that “Jesus rejects no one the Father has given him” and reassuring also that “The souls of our loved ones are in the hands of God, and no torment will ever touch them.” As we pray and do penance for the Holy Souls today, let us resolve now, (today, not tomorrow) to live lives of prayer and penance so that when our earthly journey ends we may be found worthy to enjoy the beatific vision promised by God.
Personal Devotional
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you" Deuteronomy 31:6 - Dear Lord, I thank you for this day, I thank you for my being able to see and hear this morning. I am blessed because you are a forgiving and an understanding God. - You have done so much for me and kept on blessing me. Grant me the grace Father not to offend you or my neighbour today. When the enemy of my soul comes to seduce me to sin against you please help me to run to your Son Jesus.
Let Us Pray
Please keep me safe from all dangers and harm. Help me to start this day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude. Let me make the best of this day with a clear mind, so that I can hear from you. Please broaden my mind that I can accept all things. Let me not whine and whimper over things that I have no control over. Moreover, this is the best response when I am pushed beyond my limits. I know that when I cannot pray, you listen to my heart. Continue to use me O Lord to do your will. Please Lord continue to use me that I may be a blessing to others especially those who are hurt and do not have any person to help them. Keep me strong that I may help the weak. keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others
