I met Telluride Film Fest guest directors Kira Kovalenko (left) and Kantemir Balagov (right) here in Colorado and at the New York Film Festival in recent years. Last year, Kira had “Unclenching the Fists” on the fest circuit and a few years ago Kantemir was touring with “Beanpole.” Students of Sokoruv’s film school in their hometown of Nalchik (in the North Caucasus in Russia), Kira and Kantemir, recently fled their home country in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and with the help of Telluride festival director Julie Huntsinger found a new home in California. The duo chose six films for this year’s fest, a mix of work by Lee Chang-dong (“Oasis”), Kira Muratova (“Getting to Know the Big, Wide World”), Alice Rohrwacher (“The Wonders”), Aleksandr Sokurov (“Elegy of a Voyage”), Abbas Kiarostami (“Where Is the Friend’s Home”), and Jean Vigo (“L’Atalante”). This morning, Kira introduced the screening of Vigo’s 1934 classic — a rather transfixing, quite funny romance about newlyweds (and a lot of cats) aboard a French boat — alongside Kantemir and their trusty dog, Rocco. “It’s like an old friend” she said of the film, one you return to and reconnect with every so often for insight. As the lights started to dim, Kira and Kantemir took seats in the back and then Rocco let out a little bark. The audience chuckled as the lights went down and the movie began. Một sự kiện chưa từng có đã diễn ra ở trường Đại học Tổng hợp Hữu nghị các dân tộc Nga RUDN.

Một sự kiện chưa từng có đã diễn ra ở trường Đại học Tổng hợp Hữu nghị các dân tộc Nga RUDN. Ba chuyên gia người Việt Nam cùng bảo vệ luận án Tiến sĩ trong một ngày ở cùng Hội đồng khoa học. Đó là các giảng viên đại học Quách Thị Bình Thọ, Nguyễn Thu Hương và Trần Thanh Tùng, làm việc dưới sự hướng dẫn của thành viên Viện Hàn lâm khoa học tự nhiên Nga, Trưởng Khoa tiếng Nga và phương pháp giảng dạy trường RUDN, Giáo sư Victor Shaklein. Chi phí công tác nghiên cứu sau đại học của các chuyên gia tại trường RUDN do nhà nước Việt Nam tài trợ. Ba luận văn xuất sắc đề cập tới các khía cạnh của ngôn ngữ Nga hiện đại, có so sánh tương quan tiếng Việt. Tư liệu và kết luận của các công trình nghiên cứu sẽ rất hữu ích cho công việc giảng dạy tiếng Nga tại Việt Nam. Hội đồng khoa học với 21 thành viên đã nhất trí đánh giá ba luận án đều thành công xuất sắc, xứng đáng với học vị Tiến sĩ (Ph.D).

Giáo sư Aleksandr Kovalenko, Trưởng khoa Văn học Nga và nước ngoài của trường RUDN gọi sự kiện là cuộc diễu hành của các nhà Nga học trẻ Việt Nam. Ông cũng là người đã góp phần phát triển ngành nghiên cứu ngữ văn Nga ở Việt Nam: từng giảng dạy văn học Nga tại Việt Nam trong những năm 1980, còn thời gian gần đây ông hướng dẫn các cuộc hội thảo.

“Thời kỳ 1970-1980, có lẽ Việt Nam đã có ngành nghiên cứu ngữ văn Nga mạnh nhất Đông Á. Phân viện tiếng Nga Pushkin được thành lập tại Việt Nam vào năm 1983 đóng vai trò lớn truyền bá ngôn ngữ và văn hóa Nga. Đây là chi nhánh nước ngoài duy nhất của Viện Tiếng Nga mang tên Pushkin còn trụ lại được sau khi Liên Xô sụp đổ. Ở Việt nam, làn sóng mới quan tâm tới tiếng Nga bắt đầu nổi lên vào giữa những năm 2000. Chúng ta đang thấy những chồi non mới – sinh viên, nghiên cứu sinh và tiến sĩ. Thật tuyệt vời là hôm nay đông đảo lưu học sinh Việt Nam tại Đại học RUDN đã có mặt dự lễ bảo vệ và cổ vũ đồng hương của họ.” Hướng dẫn luận án của các nghiên cứu sinh nước ngoài là công việc không đơn giản. Để có những công trình nghiên cứu tốt, giảng viên hướng dẫn phải đầu tư nhiều nỗ lực. Duyên may của các nghiên cứu sinh Việt Nam là được làm việc với sự hướng dẫn của nhà khoa học, nhà sư phạm giàu kinh nghiệm: Giáo sư Victor Shaklein đã giúp đỡ 50 Tiến sĩ và 14 Tiến sĩ Khoa học bảo vệ thành công. Ông coi công việc của mình cùng các nhà nghiên cứu trẻ Việt Nam là sự đóng góp phát triển mối quan hệ Nga-Việt, tăng cường vị thế của tiếng Nga tại Việt Nam - đất nước mà ông yêu mến.

Chẳng bao lâu nữa, các tân tiến sĩ sẽ trở về nhà và tiếp tục làm việc tại các trường đại học ở Việt Nam. Trước khi đến Nga, họ đã có cơ hội đọc và nghe rất nhiều về nước Nga, nghiên cứu ngôn ngữ và văn học Nga cũng như truyền thụ kiến thức cho sinh viên của mình. Nước Nga trong cái nhìn thực tế của họ như thế nào?

Đến Matxcơva từ miền trung du Việt Nam, Quách Thị Bình Thọ được nước Nga đón chào bằng tuyết trắng và băng giá, khiến ban đầu cô gái nghĩ rằng sẽ chẳng bao giờ quen được khí hậu này. Bây giờ, cô khẳng định sẽ rất nhớ thời tiết Matxcova, nhớ bạn bè và các thầy cô người Nga. Lòng tốt, tình thương và sự hỗ trợ của họ đã làm cho những năm tháng ở Matxcova không thể nào quên đối với Bình Thọ.

Trần Thanh Tùng đã được bố anh, một người từng công tác ở Liên Xô, định hướng nghiên cứu tiếng Nga. Tùng đến RUDN lấy bằng Thạc sỹ khi học kỳ thứ hai đã bắt đầu. Để đuổi kịp chương trình, anh lập tức phải trả 10 môn thi, một điều thật khó thành công nếu thiếu sự giúp đỡ của những người thầy Nga ở RUDN. Ấn tượng sâu đậm nhất của Tùng về nước Nga là sự cởi mở và thân ái, sự đôn hậu và nhiệt tình của người Nga.

Nguyễn Thu Hương bảo vệ luận án tiến sĩ đúng vào ngày sinh nhật thứ 35 của cô. Hiếm ai có dịp tặng cho bản thân món quà như vậy. Nhưng khóe mắt Thu Hương ngấn lệ và giọng nói ngẹn ngào, đó là tình cảm của người sắp phải chia tay với Matxcova. Ngày càng có nhiều nam nữ thanh niên Việt Nam chọn tiếng Nga làm chuyên ngành. Có nghĩa là rồi đây nhiều những "Ngày Việt Nam" sẽ xuất hiện trong các trường đại học của nước Nga.
