Get to Know Me- Sims Style

What’s your favorite Sims death?

I honestly hate the deaths because everyone cries and it makes me really sad ):

Alpha CC or MaxisMatch?

So I had to google what this was because I am Old tm so... bearing in mind I don't play TS4, I think I have to say MaxisMatch? I'm not using a super powerful PC and I don't like my sims looking hyper realistic. That being said, I do use a LOT of cc hair because the textures and colour blending tends to be much better.

Do you cheat your sims weight?

Nope! I take them as they come but may slim them down again with the gym when I can.

Do you move objects?

Yeah... I get frustrated when I can't put decorative objects in slots where there's very obviously space for them so I abuse it horribly.

Favourite Mod?

I mean I have a TON but tbh NRaas Story Progression was a total gamechanger back in the day and fixed the shitty EA Story Progression that still doesn't work.

Nope! I actually have always felt really weird about them so I've never done it.

Which is your favorite EA hair color?

The bright flaming red, I'm a sucker for redheads.

Pretty much anything that came with Island Paradise, those are the few I haven't swapped for default replacements.

Favorite life stage?

Teen! I feel like it's when their personalities really start coming out.

Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?

Gameplay; I do like building but I'm not amazing at it.

Are you a CC creator?

Yes! I'm very slow but I try.

Do you have any Simblr friends or a Sim Squad?

Not at the moment but I'd love to make some!

Do you have any sims merch?

Not official; I have a plumbbob necklace and earrings from Etsy. Other than that, just hard copies of the games and the poster from the anniversary edition of Ambitions.

Nope.

How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing?

I don't think it really has tbh. I'm always trying to improve though.

Ooooh.... TheSweetSimmer for their excellent toddler and QOL mods! MaryJaneSims also does the best default hair replacements, too.

Uh, Stan's stuff only this year, but I've been posting on WordPress etc since 2012.

The default image editor I have on my PC.

All of them, tbh, they all have a special place in my heart. Maybe Seasons?

Generation 7 Expose

ok... i know i took a big break after gen 6, so that's why there wasn't one then... but there was so much weird stuff behind the scenes this time I need to tell someone besides my friends in 3+ min snapchat videos explaining the strangeness that is this save file

first off... daisy... this ugly dog. this dog was supposed to be a shar pei

those are NOT the same dog... this dog gave me nothing but grief... when it died, maeve and elián were in the middle of trying for the twins. not only that, the dog walked into their bedroom during the act JUST TO DIE!

winston was so cute and I honestly miss him, but good god daisy was a piece of work. i also cheated scout to live longer because I didn't want to deal with another horse that would outlive maeve and be left to lottie to care for.

regarding the twins, i had no name ideas for them so i let the sims name randomizer help me out (honestly I only knew spence's name prior to the birth) so when jo was born first I was like "oh little women, that's cute!" and named her that. with teddy, I got teddy first but since I already had charlotte being called lottie, I wanted the same with teddy so theodore it was. it wasn't until the twins were INFANTS and I was in cas that I realized he was also named after little women... not only that, named after the man who falls in love with jo originally. i swear I didn't mean to imply any incest with this generation, the sims name generator did it! (insert crying emoji I would use if I wasn't on a PC rn)

now to thimble... maeve officially has had the most thimble's die on her with 4 or 5. I'm unsure because I can't find screenshots of one of them so I'm at 16 in my game but only have enough screenshots for 15... I will be pretending the current 16 (who is actually the 2nd 16 since the first died in 3 real minutes) isn't real and we will have the real 16 when this one dies.

this is the family tree as of today (3/23)

ik i'm ahead with it because i queue posts in advance (I'm actually about a 1.5 weeks into gen 8 rn) but my god the distant relatives are strange.

i like to go into manage worlds and give distant relatives spouses and children for my own enjoyment to fill out the family tree, but they like to die right after I do that.

hunter sigworth (christian from gen 5's vampire spouse) died... of EMBARASSMENT! his grandson, beejay (the sims picked that name... i didn't), died of burning in the sun because I forgot to cheat him and his brother to be immune to it... still haven't done it but this keeps me entertained so I probably won't.

valentine from gen 5's daughter-in-law died from poison and his son remarried questionably young. that same son's son from the poison wife died from falling by heights when he had just had a daughter with his wife.

oliver's (gen 3) great-grandson died of electrocution days after him and his husband adopted a daughter, while that same great-grandson's mother (oliver's granddaughter-in-law) died by killer rabbit.

ANYWAY... thank you all for following along with this family! i have so much fun with them and their ridiculousness and I hope you do as well. I'll see you in the next generation. maybe 3 weeks maybe 3 months, who knows with me lol. my final spring semester (ik crazy I graduate uni this December) ends at the end of April and my only commitment this summer is an internship I still haven't found so I should have more time then! I'm on spring break (as of writing this) rn so that's why I've had so much time recently.

Digging my 360 out is always a weird blast from the past for me, especially if I hook it up to an ethernet and look at more stuff (I recall getting really emotional over a lost family member's account still being there the last time I did this, I won't this time I promise).

Instead I just wanted to point at some of what shows up on My Games tab because it's a fun mix of good memories and things I don't recall at all.

Beat Hazard, played a bunch of songs on that.

My nerd ass getting all the achievements on Fallout 3 and NV because I was obsessed.

GAME ROOM existing, oof.

Hitman Absolution was my first hitman game if you don't count a handful of minutes at a relatives! I LIKED it! What the FUCK! lol I'm glad I liked it, but I honest to god could not go back to it today, I'm certain of that.

Maxed cheevos on I Am Alive- a game most don't respect at all but I really enjoyed it at the time- it came out when I was obsessed with post apocalypse stuff so it scratched that itch at just the right time.

I Made A Game With Zombies in it is a MASTERPIECE of a game, highly recommend looking up a playthrough for the music alone.

Iron Brigade is actually a game I've brought up before! For good reason! It's a game I love wholeheartedly and I think to date it is the only game I became THAT invested in the COMMUNITY side of things.

And what a unique experience that was.

Picture a game, right. You love it, it is niche as heck and you love it. The game has an official forum and pretty much no other place on the internet- so the forum is active! The devs are there! The best of the best and the most obsessed are there!

Now picture my nerd ass diving in, making an ass of myself, becoming at least recognized by a great portion of them, receiving a gift from the DEVS THEMSELVES, building the wikia with them, writing guides with them, stupidly turning down the opportunity to be involved in world first perfect runs with them (what the fuck was my problem) building broken strats with them-

I was incredibly active on the community side for that game, I miss that dearly. I really should take such a big commitment step again for the next niche game I enjoy :)

Enough about IB.

I went and maxed out Minecraft on 360 for some reason? What a bizarre thing to do. I'm pretty sure the achievements were stupid as hell (I ain't checking) and I don't recall really "playing" much? But that's also the biggest platform I ever played minecraft on? Oof.

Monday Night Combat, that was a fun game during its time.

Maxed out oblivion- fun story on that one.

Oblivion was one of those few games that I was hyped beyond words before release. I would watch the trailer again and again, I'd talk with friends and family about it nonstop, I recall going on and on about being able to choose how you used weapons, dual wield, one hand, two handed, magic, bow- I was blown away by the concept.

I did a similar bit of "gushing about basic mechanics" with Halo 1 to parental figures, that was fun.

But anyway- I was hyped for Oblivion, and I got all the achievements as you can see- but to this day I have not actually done much in Oblivion lol.

Little kid me was new to the entire concept of an open world RPG!

Little kid me JUST followed the quest markers and ONLY for the main quests and guild quests!

Little kid me did NOTHING in Oblivion! lol

So I have all these hours in it, I went and did a lot of the traditional Oblivion things like making a 100 chameleon armor set with duped sigil eyes or whatever but I haven't actually "just played" Oblivion, outside of stealing, I did a lot of stealing. But side content? Nope.

OH HECK YEAH PAYDAY 2!

I played Payday 2 on 360!

For those who don't know, PD2 on 360 is the OLD version, the OG skill system and the like. It's kind of a train wreck, but I played it nonstop for like a week? Maybe just a weekend? I recall telling my cousin to get it and then I don't remember us actually ever playing? I played with some friends, then by myself, then quit.

Fast forward and I buy it on PS4 and play it TOO MUCH then buy it on PC and play it TOO MUCH lol.

Oh, Rainbow Six Vegas is in the mix. Vegas and Vegas 2 were extremely fun IN THEIR TIME. I'd revisit them with a friend I'd bet, but the liklihood of that is kinda low.

You could use the 360 camera to add yourself to the game which was sick, and I'll never forget that sniper rifles could pinpoint blind fire due to an oversight. If you went against a wall (it's a cover shooter) and clicked in the zoom toggle for a sniper you would "zoom" your blind fire reticle which actually made the sniper go from "blind fire inaccurate" to "pinpoint directly on the reticle accurate" so snipers were busted lol.

If my reckless ramble wasn't a hint at what I'm about to say at the beginning: The 360 was the true height of my gaming history. It was the console I played as a teen which is to say it was the console I had infinite time and resources to pour into, and pour into I did.

Even today I don't just sit around playing games nonstop, sometimes I wish I would, but it just doesn't "fit" anymore- but kid me? He loved that shit.

So when it comes to stories I have about games, most of them are about the 360 which means a lot of them aren't really the most entertaining to share I think?

Most people want to hear about classic game stuff, or modern game stories- but I have all this weird and out of place knowledge about what it was like being obsessed with games on the 360- an experience a lot of people my age also have so, again, they aren't interested in hearing :P

AHHHHH OKAY LONG POST LETS GO :DDDD (Some questions, only the romantic based ones, I replaced since my PC is a minor uwu.)

5.How does your character express they’re comfortable? The difference between when they are comfy vs uncomfy are very noticeable, when they're uncomfy they tend to be very stiff and snappish. Threatening anyone who gets within a certain 3ft near them. Buuut when they're comfy they become a lot more relaxed, pretty much they become a cuddle bug and will slowly open up about their interests with said person and even bring them gifts :) 10.If they were in a rock band, what role would they play?

Huh, I gotta think on this one.

Maybe back up vocals or even a drummer, honestly I’d like to say they're just the bands feral gremlin mascot that they randomly found in the trash lol.

12 (Replacing 15). Physically, does your character feel warm or do they always feel cold?

Well, they are part arctic elf so they are very cold, like, cold cold. They make a good ice pack.

And also, yes. They will but their cold hands on you without warning. 17 (Replacing 20). Does your character swear? What’s their favorite phrase/word? Oh my gods yeah they swear a lot, they grew up around bandits and sailor's so they know quite a few. Bitch would have to be their favorite, and they know it in quite a few different languages even if they are in no way fluent in said language themselves.

25.How does your character feel about spending money? Honestly? They haven't ever really spent money. Mostly they just stole stuff if they needed it. They’d rather steal it, but if they had to use money then they’d kinda just go with whatever price is given. Though they will be sad to have to lose the pretty shiny coins.

30.What never gets old for your character? Something your character can’t get enough of?

Animals, they love animals so much.

Also soft textures, they are obsessed with our Monks silky cloak and like feeling it in their hands. Also head pats, and hugs. They really like hugs.

35.Do they consider themselves childish/mature for their age?

Honestly, they haven't really ever been around other kids their age so they don't have set comparison. But others would probably say they are mature for their age in a “Damn that kid has seen some shit” sort of way.

40.Describe a corruption/redemption arc version of your character.

Ooooh corruption arc baby. Honestly? If someone in the team was killed they might go on a bit of a revenge spree. Burn down some houses and all that. Maybe destroy a government. Honestly they can already be a spiteful and vengeful person so something like this could happen in the future if things go bad. 45.What would they never forgive themselves for?

Hands down if they were responsible for the server injury or gods forbid even death of a fellow party member. It would tear them apart and they would never fully be able to forgive themselves. Especially if said person died for them.

50. What is their native language? If they know multiple languages, how do they speak/act differently?

Technically their native language, as if the language they first learned, was Dragonic! Alongside that they know Elvish, Thieves' cant, Sign language, and Common. With Common being their worst language and the language they cannot read or write in. They can read/write in Dragonic or Elvish tho!

55.How has your character’s mental health been recently?

Uhhhh not good actually. They're kinda trapped in a dark cube box jail alone without knowing if the group is still alive or if they are even looking for them. Also their new adopted brother was arrested for a crime he didn't commit and their other adopted brother they watched be stabbed and carried away to be experimented on so....yeah, not good. 60.Who do they go to when they need to bounce ideas off of someone?

Def their parental grandpa figure, also known as our Dragonborn wizard. They love telling him all their ideas, usually serious ones. But if they have some silly ones, like pranks, they’ll go to their favorite yeehaw uncle.

65. Adoration or Intimidation? They think they wanna be intimidating to those around them as a way of avoiding being hurt and left by them but honestly deep down they just wanna be loved by people man :((

70. An lil added Bonus fun fact about my character :)

They purr if they are really content :) If you give them head pats they will go limp and start to sound like an engine real quick.
