a canonically queer (with a musically-inclined love interest) pointy-eared magic user who has trust issues (influenced partially by their sister (whose name begins with L) who was their best and only friend as a young child) but acts aloof and cocky to hide it, begins begrudgingly giving magic lessons to a heavily neurodivergent-coded human child (who has a special interest in a certain book series and models their life goals around the protagonist of said series) and accidentally grows attached to and trusts that human child wholeheartedly

#eliot posts#toh#the owl house#taz#the adventure zone#taz balance#eda clawthorne#luz noceda#taako taaco#angus mcdonald#as the series went on eda and luz became what the fandom WANTED taako and angus to become#tho eda's vibes are kinda actually closer to lup than taako tbh#darius and hunter ALSO mirror taako and angus#and darius's Vibes are a fusion of taako and kravitz#(and of course plenty of ppl have compared lup and taako to em and ed bc mischievous twins trope)#also i say kravitz is musically inclined bc he wanted to be a conductor but there IS a nonzero chance he meant train conductor#which is infinitely funny to me#anyway if you're a taz fan who hasn't watched toh and got attached to the taako and angus dynamic:#go watch the owl house bc that relationship dynamic is basically the heart/backbone/whatever of the show#and it's just a good show overall with great characters and cool worldbuilding and just so much heart behind its writing#it's a fantasy/comedy/horror cartoon about a young girl who finds a portal to a magic realm and gets taken in by an outlaw witch#and it deconstructs fantasy/YA/isekai tropes but in a loving way rather than a dismissive mocking way#i also recommend the adventure zone: balance to any owl house fan looking for something to get into over the hiatus#i can't point out any specific element that i can say 'if you liked x try y' about. it's just an overall great series#it's a standard 'some comedians recorded themselves playing dungeons and dragons' podcast#(half of it has also been adapted into graphic novels if podcasts aren't your thing and they're in the process of releasing the rest)#about 3 adventurers tasked with tracking down dangerous ancient relics#and it starts off just a bunch of silly jokes but it gets more and more serious as it goes on#and ends up being one of the most touching stories i have ever heard by the end. w themes of love and hope and the power of stories
