A howl’s moving castle AU always comes to mind no matter what fandom I’m in but I was thinking about it and I think it would be funnier if I based it on the book rather than the movie if I ever did it for geraskier cause like think about it

Julian is this normal college kid who steps into this magical world, immediately starts practicing said magic, naming himself Jaskier, and taking on Ciri as an apprentice. He goes back every few months to visit his family who just think he’s fucked off somewhere to get out of studying. His professors are wondering when he’s gonna turn in his thesis.

Then Geralt, cursed to be an old man, stumbles across Jas’ home and while he’s taking being old in stride, he’d also like to be able to see his brothers and hey, Jaskier is known to be a powerful magician so what the hell. He meets Jaskier and immediately thinks this man is an idiot, but he’s got connections unfortunately. They build their tedious friendship on bickering and Jas being Jas. Ciri, being 15, absolutely eats this shit up and kinda eggs it on. (She also quietly wonders if she got a grandpa in Geralt). (Spoiler, she gets a grandpa and then a dad out of him).

Addendum: I can’t really think of an actual plot since I haven’t read the book in awhile and only really remember 1) Sophie has some of her own magic, and 2) Howl was from Wales and Sophie doesn’t know what to make of his world when she goes with him. Idk trying to fit them into the ghibli take of the story just doesn’t feel right, no matter how whimsical it is lmao
