so like in this au todd and charlie meet at like college or something - maybe theyre dormmates anyway

todd’s a little more comfortable than he was in high school and it shows in the way he stands and carries himself, so he starts getting a lot of attention 

he is simply a todd, though, and he doesn’t not know how to deal with that

so he asks charlie to help him somehow

and charlie likes chaos so he suggests fake dating and todd is like “um is that a good idea” and charlie is like “have i ever had a bad idea” and todd is like “almost every idea you’ve had-”

so they fake date

but then 

one day charlie’s best friend, his other half, his brother (in blood if the ritual they performed in highschool, drunk, worked) shows up becuz he’s planning on transferring out of his yucky dad-picked college 

and to todd’s horror, charlie’s best friend is extremely pretty

and to neil’s horror, he starts having a crush on his best friend’s crush and oh does his self loathing go hard

anderperry but it's a move in meet cute ! like, instead of them being roommates they're neighbours in a small apartment complex. and btw todd is the one moving in at first !

he’s just moved out of a very toxic household and went to nyc to attend columbia university, and bc he’s alone out there, he’s gotten himself a small but comfortable apartment in a relatively nice area. it’s kinda far from his school but thank god for the subway. and finally, he’s enjoying his life without being under the control of his parents.

he’s also working an internship in a popular newspaper firm in nyc, but he’s only doing lower shit until he can start writing independently. todd has also published some poetry anonymously but that’s just another form of income to him at the moment bc he can’t focus solely on that.

meanwhile, neil has been living in the same apartment complex for a bit longer, and he’s attending his dream school, julliard. his parents aren’t supportive of his career but reluctantly fund some of his necessities, and he maintains a very cold relationship w them. his mentor figure though, mr keating and his friends (who all live rlly close to him) are very supportive of him and attend all neil’s productions.

he regularly auditions for different things and has actually gotten some parts, but he’s on his way to accomplish his dreams woohoo !!! he also works a multitude of small jobs to afford rent.

but yeah, they meet when todd has to haul all his shit (which tbh isn’t a lot) up like three flights of stars bc ofc the is broken on the day he has to move in. but yeah, he gets up some stairs and that’s when this cute boy comes up to him and helps him (even after todd insists he’s ok) and they get to chatting as they move stuff.

and neil goes out w the poets and immediatley gushes about the cute boy that he met in his complex, and they all sigh bc here we go. they almost think he’s delusional bc cmon neil, an angel from heaven? but then. he doesn’t stop. neil is regularly meeting this guy in the halls and shit he’s hooked.

and he doesn’t even know this guys second name. and now everyone is invested into neil getting this guy to know him.

and now, he can’t even hold a conversation with him bc todd is either rushing to class or doing all types of shit at all times of the day for his job and neil just wants to talk to the pretty boy. and he vents this frustration to some of the poets one day at this diner or café that he sometimes works at (not today though) when suddenly he just stops and stares.

because the elusive, pretty guy that he’s talking about, literally just walked in the door.

and he looks fine, the poets can agree. especially in a button down, with sleeves slightly rolled up and a satchel and he’s ordering coffee at this place!!! so after being hyped up, neil gets up and goes over to chat to him. and todd’s face lights up when he sees him bc he likes him back. and todd is like, “look, i gotta go, this is for someone else, but let’s meet up again?” and neil is so happy !!! bc the !! cute boy he likes !! just organised a meet up !!!

and they start going out for coffee or having dinner together and chilling at eachother’s place and they’re dating but forget to make it official until like a month after. and then not too long after that, the probably move in together. it’s totally for rent purposes, if neil’s parents ask.

Fort ~ Anderperry microfic ~ vomit inducing fluff

It was a cold afternoon in Neil and Todd’s small apartment.

They moved shortly after graduation and now had stable jobs. Neil was a theatre actor, he was doing what he loved the most. And Todd was working as a librarian, but still dreaming about being a teacher.

The boys’ shared room felt warm and cozy in contrast with the weather outside. The string lights and fluffy-looking pillows welcomed anyone and everyone.

Todd sat on the right side of the bed, with Neil’s scrip in his hands. He was in the middle of a pillow fort with blankets on top of him.

Neil stood on the short space in their room that wasn’t covered with furniture. He held a notebook prop in his hands as he declared his lines looking towards his boyfriend.

“Was that ok?” The brunette asked, shifting into a more comfortable position.

“It was great darling,” Todd answered with loving eyes “by the way, we need to go to the grocery store, I’ve run out of tea bags”

“Sure” Neil laughed with a big grin on his face. Before the blonde had time to ask what he was smiling about, Neil was already on top of him, trying to get into the fort.

hi i'm back to elaborate on the playwright/anderperry au :D this is going to be very scattered so maybe one day i will write it out nicely

anyways so i was thinking that after welton, neil & todd ended up at the same college. why? bc they need each other ofc!!! anyways so neil & todd both end up studying english. neil has a concentration in writing, and todd has a focus in education. (yes english teacher todd is perfect & i will never change it!!!) neil also studies theater & does many many plays that he's amazing in and todd is there for every single one with a bouquet of flowers on every single night bc they're cute

so i'm thinking after that, they move to nyc. well, right outside of nyc. they don't exactly have the means to move into the city y'all its expensive :'( so anyway todd gets a job teaching english at a local school & he's very happy with his career. neil goes on audition after audition, and he books very very small things, but he never really gets anywhere. so one night he's so fed up that he goes into an old journal of his & finds this script

*cue hallelujah music or smth*

and this script is great. neil, with all of his bad outcomes from auditions, has come out of them with some connections. and so his play gets staged off broadway. then closer to broadway. then ON broadway.

i feel like this is rly conflicting for neil bc he originally wrote it for himself to play but the producers were like "eh let's audition other people"

no he auditioned to play his character than didn't get it

and ofc he's very thankful for what he has but he's also kind of sad that he doesn't get to act

and then it's always "what is he going to write next? when will you write again?"

but it's never "hey i heard you were an actor! do you still want to act?"

but he is still happy dw yall he has his todd so he's good :)

also they still live right outside of nyc bc todd loves his job & doesn't want to leave & neil is ok with that :)
