Eldred Gregory Peck, better known by his stage name Gregory Peck, was a tall, imposing American actor best known for portraying characters of honesty and integrity. He was born on April 5, 1916 in La Jolla, California, and passed away on June 12, 2003 in Los Angeles, California. Gregory Peck Peck, the son of a pharmacist, went to military school and San Diego State College before enrolling at the University of California, Berkeley, to study medicine. After graduating, he moved to New York to pursue his interest in acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse while also supporting himself as a concession barker at the 1939 World's Fair and an usher at Radio City Music Hall. Although critics praised Peck's performances, his Broadway debut in The Morning Star (1942), the first of three straight flops in which he appeared, was a success. Peck made his debut as a Russian guerilla warrior in Days of Glory after being invited to Hollywood (1944). He was unable to serve in World War II due to a prior spinal injury. He was able to become one of the most well-liked leading men of the 1940s thanks to this circumstance. His portrayal of an idealistic missionary priest in The Keys of the Kingdom (1944) gave him his first Academy Award nomination. Three years later, in Gentleman's Agreement, he garnered a second Oscar nomination for his portrayal of a journalist who dresses as a Jew in order to expose anti-Semitism (1947). The Valley of Decision (1945), Alfred Hitchcock's Spellbound (1945), Duel in the Sun (1946), The Yearling (1946), and Yellow Sky (1946) are some of Peck's other noteworthy motion pictures from this decade (1948). Peck collaborated with the majority of the top Hollywood filmmakers of the day, including Lewis Milestone, Vincente Minnelli, William Wellman, King Vidor, and Hitchcock, but some of his best work was done for Henry King. Peck portrayed apparently powerful and authoritative people whose underlying problems and character weaknesses threatened to ruin them in King's Twelve O'Clock High (1949), The Gunfighter (1950), David and Bathsheba (1951), The Snows of Kilimanjaro (1952), The Bravados (1958), and Beloved Infidel (1959). For his portrayal of the moral and sympathetic Alabama attorney Atticus Finch in the film adaption of Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird, he was finally recognised with an Academy Award (1962). He went on to play a distressed father in the well-known horror movie The Omen (1976), the titular American general in MacArthur (1977), and a rare villain in The Boys from Brazil as Nazi doctor Josef Mengele (1978). Peck worked into the early 1990s (when he declared that he was basically retired), but his last few movies are largely forgettable. Peck won the most praise for his portrayals of stoic men driven by a desire for decency and justice throughout his career; he was less successful in roles requiring a wide range of emotions, such as Captain Ahab in Moby Dick (1956), where critics thought he failed to capture the compulsive qualities of one of the most complex characters in American literature. He nevertheless excelled in jobs that needed him to be the moral compass of a movie and was a charming actor. As one of the most helpful and non-egotistical actors in the movie business, Peck was also well-liked and respected. He worked extensively on civic, humanitarian, and political issues in addition to his work in movies. He cofounded the American Film Institute and served as chairman of its trustee board. He also served three years as president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Peck missed one subject, therefore he did not graduate with his friends. His college classmates worried about him and questioned how he would manage without his diploma. He informed them, "I have everything I need from the university. Eldred was no longer a part of Peck's identity as he moved to New York City to study acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse under the tutelage of renowned acting coach Sanford Meisner.
He sometimes slept in Central Park because he was frequently broke. He was a barker at the 1939 World's Fair and a tour guide for NBC television at Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall. Prior to working for food in 1940 at the Barter Theatre in Abingdon, Virginia, where he appeared in five plays, including On Earth As It Is and Family Portrait, he dabbled in modelling. He made his acting debut on stage in 1941 in a Katharine Cornell production of George Bernard Shaw's play The Doctor's Dilemma as the secretary. Only one week before the attack on Pearl Harbor, the drama had its San Francisco premiere. In 1942, he made his Broadway debut as the main character in Emlyn Williams' The Morning Star. In The Willow and I alongside Edward Pawley that year, he gave his second Broadway performance. Since Peck was excused from military service due to a back ailment sustained while taking ballet and movement lessons from Martha Graham as part of his acting training, his acting skills were in high demand during World War II. Duel in the Sun, a western soap opera, featured Jennifer Jones as the seductive temptress who sparked Peck's love, rage, and desire. This was Peck's first "against type" role. David Thomson, a film historian, calls their connection "a continual knife battle of sensuality." The film, which also starred Joseph Cotten as Peck's upright half-brother and Jones' "steamy, sexpot" rival, received harsh criticism for its explicit content and was even outlawed in some towns. Duel in the Sun was the second-highest-grossing movie of both the 1940s and 1947 thanks to publicity surrounding its sexiness that included one of the largest cinema advertising efforts in history and a novel strategy of opening in several theatres simultaneously across the country. The first of Peck's two westerns in the 1950s was The Gunfighter (1950), which was directed by Henry King, with whom he had previously collaborated on Twelve O'Clock High. Peck portrays an aged "Top Gun of the West" who is tired of murdering and wants to retire with his beautiful but sensible wife and his kid, who is seven years old and whom he hasn't seen in a long time. Following extensive photographic research on the Wild West Era by Peck and King, which revealed that most cowboys had facial hair, "bowl" haircuts, and donned worn-out attire, Peck sported a moustache during filming.

There was just one thing I enjoyed in this week’s Fear The Walking Dead midseason finale (spoilers ahead): Morgan Jones is gone. Nothing against Lennie James, who is a fine actor and I suppose is doing the best with the absurd scripts he’s given, but I have rarely been so relieved to see a character written off a show. Outside of Ian Goldberg, Andrew Chambliss and Scott Gimple, nobody has done more to ruin this series than Morgan.
At the end of the episode, Morgan takes his adopted daughter, Mo, to Eastman’s graveyard and he sends out a walkie-talkie message to Rick Grimes of all people, a man he hasn’t seen in a decade who is almost certainly not anywhere near, who Morgan would probably not even remember much or care about at this point (we do as viewers, but realistically the other people he’s been friends with for all these years would be much closer friends by now) but who rightly assumes that if there is a way to find him, it’s with the magic walkie-talkies.
The rest of the episode was a jumbled mess. Morgan goes crazy and literally sees red. The screen goes red a bunch of times, as the showrunners drag this gimmick as far as they can. Mo stabs him at one point. At another, his companions leave him sinking in quicksand. At multiple points characters show up to exposit at one another, and other characters who probably should just shoot them fail to do so (more’s the pity).
Finch dies offscreen (seriously?) and then Dwight and Sherry, after all these years, break up. I guess that was alright, given how abhorrent their relationship was. They should never have gotten back together in the first place. What a silly way to end their arc, even if they were terrible for one another. Why were they even in this show to begin with?
Hey, why was PADRE in this show? They talked about it for half of last season, then introduced Shrike as this big bad villain and then killed her off in Episode 6! What?
One thing I also enjoyed: The look of pure happiness on Madison / Kim Dickens’s face when Morgan says he’s leaving. She looks genuinely thrilled to get her show back at long last.
And I suppose that’s where we’re headed in 8B. The new cast is mostly gone, either departing like Morgan or just not showing up this season, mysteriously, like Sarah or the rabbi. We’re left with Madison and Daniel and June, who will reunite with Strand and Luciana. I suppose Dwight and Sherry might still be around, just not together (maybe they’ll get back together in the series finale!) and the big bad will now be none other than Troy Otto.
Troy’s return has been leaked for a while now, but the final scene of this episode shows a mysterious figure with several items: Strand’s sunglasses, Alycia’s arm and the hammer that Madison used to “kill” Troy before the dam blew up quite literally on top of him. Naturally, he has survived all of this and is out for revenge . . . ten years later, give or take. What cartoonish nonsense.
I know some people are excited to see a return to a united original cast (or what’s left of it) and one of the show’s best villains (anti-heroes?) but I have zero faith whatsoever in the people who are producing and writing this show to deliver. I suspect it will be another six episodes of exposition, convenience, walkie-talkies, absurd scenarios and wooden dialogue, culminating in something very similar to what we got in this episode. Can’t wait for them to ruin another character!
Scattered thoughts:
Where did the zombie horde actually go?
Why were they so nice to Shrike in the end? She was a horrible person.
I think my favorite characters this season so far have been Strand and Luciana.
This was another very sloppy episode. I think Shrike was bitten on the other side of the neck from where the wound was shown.
I will reiterate here that I was never a fan of Madison, and her returning to be the main protagonist does not excite me. I liked the idea of her becoming a villain by the end of Fear but now she is just another cardboard person with no real identity outside of her interactions with Morgan.
Mo ended up being pretty ridiculous in the end, disregarding adults, leading children twice her age. She certainly never came across as an eight year old.
Finch’s line “Nobody should have to feel like this” was maybe the one good line, with any real emotional weight, in the entire episode.

The Ships In This Drawing:
June x Cozy Glow (Fanon-Ship)
Twilight Sparkle x Mordecai (Fanon-Ship)
Amethyst "Sparkler" Star x Twilight Sparkle (Fanon-Ship)
Peedee Fryman x Lizzie Devine/Numbuh Vine (Fanon-Ship)
Kaio O. Kincaid x Blossom Utonium (Fanon-Ship)
Sunset Shimmer x Thomas Draconius "Tom" Lucitor (Fanon-Ship)
Ayano Aishi x Hoodie (Fanon-Ship)
Raymond x Radicles (Canon-Ship)
a Neo-Prime Zone version of Sally x Nicole (Canon-Ship)
the idea is that while Neo-Prime Zone is Fanon,
it is a merged version of both the Old & New Realities.
what is different, is that  Nigel Acorn is still Sally’s Father,
but her counterpart Alicia (formerly Anti-Sally) is now her sister.
and Scourge is 100% his own Hedgehog,
but now he is the son of Sir Charles Hedgehog.
in The Neo-Prime Zone,
Sally is a Lesbian and she is in a relationship with Nicole.
Mina Mongoose is dating someone who isn’t Ash Mongoose or Sonic.
anyway the Human-Amethyst Star aka “Sparkler”,
is really the Pony Counterparts from Equestria,
so she looks a bit more different than her Human Counterpart that was born in the Human World on the other side of the Mirror.
the idea is that at some point after the events of Season 9 and Comic’s Season 10, in a Fanon Season 11...
Princess Twilight and Sparkler start to get closer and end up falling in love with each other, they then start to date and then later their relationship grows deeply enough for Twilight to pop the question to Sparkler.
which means when Sparkler marries the new ruler of Equestria,
she also becomes a Co-Ruler and becomes a Unicorn Consort Princess to Princess Twilight Sparkle.
I think their ship name could be Double-Sparkler,
because of how Twilight Sparkle’s name does have “Sparkle” in it,
while Sparkler is a nickname for Amethyst Star.
their relationship and more interactions with each other,
could start out not so great, because of how Sparkler had felt that Twilight had replaced her as soon as she had moved to Ponyville.
it isn’t until they get trapped in the Human World/Sunset’s Adoptive Home World  together, that they start to grow more closer together and start to slowly fall in love with each other.
I think June and Cozy would get along,
they were both used by Black Heron and Discord.
yeah Bradford is technically her “Dad” because he helped Co-create her and her sisters, which means that Webby technically has Two Dads...
the true villain in Ducktales 2017, was never Bradford...
it was his Grandmother Isabella Finch, who made Bradford who he is,
because of the trauma she put him through.
I don’t believe his transformation by that sword, was because he was “evil”
it was because he had deep unresolved trauma that negatively effected him.
same with Magica when she lost her twin brother,
just because Louie had a point the experiences that Scrooge had with his villains, made him a better person.
it doesn’t excuse him for technically making Magica more bad than she was already, it is possible that her plan was to get her brother back the whole time,
all he cared about was taking the treasure in her and her brother’s home,
not even stopping to help her keep her brother from leaving and being lost to her forever.
Magica’s fight with Scrooge on the night that he would end up trapping her in his dime, might of had to do with Magica wanting revenge on Scrooge for his heartless actions.
just because Scrooge was proved innocent from ruining Ma Beagle and Glomgold’s lives....doesn’t mean he is innocent from ruining Magica’s life.
both Magica and Bradford were victims of the “Good Guys”,
but even though Scrooge had gotten better over the years,
and started to see family as the greatest treasure and adventure of all.
he still ended up hurting Magica and making her even more evil,
and I don’t view Finch being Good at all, I mean what kind of Grandmother
takes her own Grandchild out to adventure and doesn’t try to see it just makes them unhappy and could be traumatizing them...?
to me and maybe other fans, the reason why Bradford transformed into the form he took thanks to that sword, wasn’t because he was evil,
but because he was broken and all the trauma he went through, had transformed him into that.
but for all we know the Bradford that got transformed into a Fauna-Buzzard,
might of been a Clone who has the Original Bradford’s Memories,
and the real one was that “Dumb Clone” who was made temporarily made dumb for 24 Hours, or as long as the fight between Scrooge and the Decoy-Bradford goes...
Lizzie Devine and Peedee Fryman ending up together, would be interesting
but I might be the only one who thinks that.
but with how Nigel Uno/Numbuh 1 has kind of fallen from grace,
we could see Peedee as the new Numbuh 1, or Numbuh 1-2.0.
I hope that someday that Galactic Kids Next Door will happen,
but with how things are with Cartoon Network right now,
it might be for the best that it shows on Adult Swim.
Warner Brothers should buy Nickelodeon, for one certain reason....
the only ones who don’t have hearts in their eyes in this drawing,
are Ayano and Hoodie.
not sure if the JuneGlow ship would even catch on,
this is my first ship drawing of the two but it was suppose to be a Platonic Ship,
you know like “I Bud It” instead of “I Ship It.”
but then I decided to make it as a Romantic ship instead.
Blossom and Kaio would be a interesting Crossover One True Pairing,
it be awesome if Kaio ends up in Powerpuff Girls Doujinshi Comic Series.
I still like the other shows of the PPG, but PPGD is my top favorite.
PPGD was out way before PPGZ, and it is like a Awesome Crossover of different shows, like Invader Zim and other series.
if Disney Characters had more appearances in it and not just cameos,
that would be awesome.
and it would be cool if Deltarune characters like Kris, Susie, Noelle, Berdly and the rest of their classmates made a cameo in the school that Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup had transferred to.
but Noelle, Susie, Berdly and the others, could NOT be turned into Humans,
and should stay as they are.
if they did go to the school that we see in PPGD,
I think they would be in the same class as Dib.
Frisk and Flowey would be in the same class as Gaz.
anyway, I hope some of you like this ship drawing that has either a crossover ship or same universe ship.
and yeah the reason why I had put the Mordetwi in this,
is because well I just wanted to draw it in there and there doesn’t have to be special reason why I added in Mordetwi.
it be interesting if Sunset x Tom became the new “Mordetwi”
but that happening might not be that likely, but who knows...it might happen.
see ya later and stay safe everyone.

Who exactly are these groups in the US like Antifa, BLM, Proud Boys, Hells Angels, Tea Party & QAnon? Although the dividing line is thin, are they also officially classified as hate groups like Aryan Nations & KKK? Where does the dividing line lie?
COMMENTARY:
The dividing line goes back to the 60s cultural wars on the American college campuses. On one side was the kids aligned with the sentiments and goals of the Port Huron Statement, which was a fushion of the anti-war movement and civil rights community organizes, the demographic I define as liberal fascists, on one side of the line, and on the other side of the line, everybody associated with William F. Buckley’s Sharon Statement, publshed two years earlier, that is basically the Movement Conservatives who perpetuate the Reagan personality cult and have identified completely with Trump. Like Lindsey Graham. That’s what was going on on-campus from June 1965 until Woodstock.
I was not engaged in the political dynamcs of the campus except to the degree proximity required response. I was then, and remain, in a neutral sepatrix, a no-man’s land, ideologically. I was preparing to go to Vietnam. I knew at that moment why I was going to Vietnam, I haven’t changed my mind. I commited to a military vocation in 1862 and I never expected to be a civilian. Plan A was the rarified atmosphere of a Starship Trooper until I retired and lived on my pension. I didn’t have a Plan B.
Antifa comes pretty directly out of the boutique domestic terrorist legacy of the Weather Underground, which was similar to SNCC, the Black Activist forerunner to the BLM movement, except that they were commited to regime chance by violent revolution and not the evolutionary processes of MLK and Marion Barry. A great deal of the SDS side of the equation was street theater. The Weather Underground, along with a bunch of similar boutique terrorist groups, The Bader-Meinhodd Gang and Red Brigade are ideiologically linked to a global congress of Dialectical Transformation. Antifa is emerged from the residue of the Weather Underground by the end of the 70s, before Reagan and Beirut, which represeted industrial terrorism, which persist.
Neither antifa nor BLM are associated with that agendaL they share a common boundary at the dividing line I am describing, although there is a pretty distinct boundary between antifa and BLM. They share a total and visceral disdain for white supremacy. I share that value. However, antifa remains grounded in the nihilism of the Weather Underground while BLM leads back to the Southern Black christian community associated with MLK. They share Juneteenth as the promise of the more perfect union that was the original intent of the Signer and Underwriters of the Declartion of Independence. The South remained as healthy as it was before Eisenhower because of the fountain of spiritual blessing that poured out like oil on troubled waters on that troubled region. If you are in antifa and at a BLM event and damaging property is your value added, you may be hanging out with the wrong crowd and would find greater fulfillment with the Proud Boys.
Everything that happened at the Capitol on January 6 I associate with the Conservative Fascists who opposed the Liberal Fascists at the IU-Bloomington from the beginning of the draft call-ups for Vietnam in July 1965. This triggered the collective Pucker Factor of a generation of men at that instant. It didn’t affect me in the least except to be surprised by the raw fear it inspired in most of the men around me.
I am ΘΧ and was iiving dead center of the Conservative Fascist demographic, on campus. I avoided talking politics because I was not interested in their opinions on either Vietnam nor on Civil Rights. ΘΧ went through a serious division sometime in the 50s between the dedicated white supremacists in the fraternity and white supremacists like Atticus Finch and believed that, if nothing else, civil rights made it a fair and honest game in constitutional capitalism context/Bill of Rights/ Declaration of Independence kind of way. A close friend of my dad, Sherwood Blue (sp?), who was against integrating the Brotherhood and my dad accepted it without qualification.
There was nobody in the House, at the time, who would have been interested in actually exploring any of those subjects because most of them were preparing to become corporate careerists and the object of the exercise was not to interrupt their trajectory up the corporte ladder with military service. A deferment as a business student or a philosophy student was worth the effort to remain on a 2(S) draft status.
In 1965, the jocks and Greeks of the Conservative Fascists owned the franchise for campus politics and society. By 1969, the Home Coming Queen was a Liberal Fascist.
Now, the thing is, William F. Buckley began broadcasting Firing Line in 1966 or so and he was conducting a seminar in Fascist sophistry for basically the demographic defined by future Movement Conservative and CPAC attendees. Yale alumni, for example. Buckley’s aspiration was to create a political culture where Senator Joe McCarthy was considered a noble American hero and Eisenhower’s 1956 Presidential Platform would be dismantled along with the New Deal in favor of the Free Market, laissez-faire, gold-based, zero-sum economics of Steve Bannon and Jeff Bezos. Louis Powell detailed a strategy to expand and accomplish this outcome by subverting Nxion’s diplomatic and domestic agenda. And this carried forward with the Chamber of Commerce coupled with Newt Gingrich’s political strategy based on the SDS political strategy for violent revolution. and, with the election of Reagan emerging from the ashes of Barry Goldwater’s campaign, Movement Conservatives were born with the generation of campus Conservaive Fascists like Pat Buchanan and Bill Barr at the leading edge of Republican policy.
The thing is that Newt Gingrich’s political strategy is aimed directly at the emotional anchor and organizing principle of the white supremacist demographic looking for an excuse to become a domestic terrorist like Trump’s mob that stormed the Capitol: they don’t want to think they want to feel. And they like the feel of a gun in their hands and the pleasant feel of a AR-15 on rock-and-roll, There is a huge amount of sexual confusion in this crowd, a very Alpha Male penis envy culture characterized by inappropriate, if not destructive, competitive dynamics. You can see this in the need to win the battle of the size of Trump’s inaugural crowd or if Governor Kemp just signed a reprise of the Jim Crow laws which he claims are common-sense election reforms.
If you are a Buckley-trained crypto-Nazi Movement Conservative, or Rand Paul, that employment of “common sense”, indeed, is the definition and example of Fascist sophitry.
The only person in Congress who, more or less, thinks like me is Mitt Romney. I voted for Nixon before I went to Vietnam and I voted for him when I got back. The adult leadership in the GOP at that time, included George Romney, who ran things with understated competence. What Mitt did with the Winter Olympics and with the Massaschuttes Health Plan is what it meant to be an Eisenhower Republican and part of the adult leadership of the GOP.
So, there’s the dividing line. Another was to look at it is the 1992 election and separate the Bush voters into the Conservative Fascist side of the American body politic and Clinton on the LIberal Fascist side of the same population and the 19% that went to Perot was the adult leadership from the Greatest Generation. The 50–50 split without Perot is a measure of the success of Newt Gingrich’s poltical strategey to unnaturally polarize the electorate. At this moment, Biden’s stimulus is getting a favorable rating from a combination of the Perot and Clinton voters, which is a combination of progressive Democrat voters and GOP adult leadership, which is the coalition that won WWII and put a man on the moon.
Everybody that is left includes all the people who stormed the Capitol and Movement Conservatives who despise the Lincoln Project for spoiling their self-image of glowing righteousness and enlightenment William F. Buckly help them construct for themselves.

Fixing ‘Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice’ (2016)
The goals of this fix are as follows;
1. Use the same basic plot structure of Batman v. Superman to primarily fix the following issues with the original film.
2. Make the finished product primarily a Superman movie.
3. Lex’s plan needs to make sense.
4. Feature more of Superman’s supporting cast.

The Fix;
The film opens “somewhere in the Indian Ocean.” Several small children go diving near one of the Kryptonian machines that Superman destroyed at the end of ‘Man of Steel.’ They fish out several large rocks and carry them to a man in a business suit standing on the shore. Using a rock hammer, he breaks one of the rocks in half to reveal a glowing, green crystal-like substance.
Flashback to the day of the attack on Metropolis. Bruce Wayne arrives on his private air-field and contacts the head of Wayne Corp’s Metropolis division, Michael Corben, to check on the status of the building’s evacuation. Corben is urged to leave by his son, John, but he refuses, claiming he has something to take care of first. Corben gets on a nearby computer terminal and informs Bruce that he is forwarding all research and plans for “Project Batwing” to Lucius Fox in Gotham. Just as the transfer is completed, Superman and General Zod smash into the building, destroying it and killing Corben. Bruce arrives at the wreckage and finds John Corben with his legs pinned under part of the building. They both look to the sky coldly as Superman and Zod streak across the sky towards their final confrontation.
The opening credits roll over a montage of various news reports detailing the world’s reaction to Superman and the suddenly rare appearances of Batman. Other reports show Bruce Wayne shaking the hand of John Corben, his legs now amputated at the knee, and Senator June Finch becoming the chief anti-Superman voice in Washington.
Eighteen months later, we arrive in a scene of panic as a small town is threatened by heavy flooding. Just when all hope seems lost, several people are rescued by a red and blue blur. A family of survivors on a rooftop look up to the sky and cheer as Superman descends to save them. While Superman checks on the survivors, some of them verbally attack the mayor (there to thank Superman for his help) and claim that he is responsible for the disaster since he cut funding to emergency operations for the town. Superman admonishes the mayor before leaving. In retaliation for the slight, the mayor testifies before Congress that Superman’s existence was the reason for the funding being “diverted,” since “who needs first responders with Superman around?” Senator Finch makes her stance on Superman clear; that she considers him a threat until she is fully convinced otherwise. When asked who she has working on possible solutions, she only smiles.
Finch arrives at LexCorp, a tech company and conglomerate that has become one of the top businesses in the world thanks to their rapid and advanced recovery of Metropolis. We meet Lex Luthor, the young, red-headed CEO of the company, one of the smartest men on Earth and someone who knows it. He is the person Finch has working on the “Superman problem.” He takes her into his research labs and shows off the elements his scouts located from the Indian Ocean. He has already deduced the crystal to be pieces of the Kryptonian’s home world and thus has named the substance “kryptonite.” So far, he and his scientists have discovered three varieties of kryptonite; blue (which seems to have no effect), red (which increases irritation and anger after prolonged exposure), and green (which generates a low level radiation.) Lex demonstrates on the salvaged arm of Zod’s female lieutenant that the green kryptonite can pierce the seemingly invulnerable kryptonian flesh. Finch wants to know how much Luthor wants to create a Superman deterrent, and the scientist demands access to the crashed ship in Metropolis and the body of General Zod.
In Gotham City, Commissioner Gordon meets with Batman on the roof of GCPD. He informs him that several of the low level criminals that have been brought in have no criminal records and show signs of being hypnotized to commit their crimes. Batman seems non-committal and makes a vague promise to look into it. As Batman leaves, Gordon observes that he’s changed since the Kryptonians attacked and he barely sees him anymore. Batman tells him that there are bigger threats now than thieves and muggers.
In a Gotham apartment, we meet Jervis Tetch, a neuroscientist and amateur hypnotist with a fixation of the works of Lewis Carroll. He’s been hypnotizing people off the street and using them to steal for him. He’s counting money and reciting Carroll when he gets a phone call from Metropolis.
Back in Metropolis, Clark Kent and Lois Lane are introduced to their new photographer; James “Jimmy” Olson. The trio gets to know each other as they head for the dedication ceremony for a new Superman statue. The ceremony is sabotaged by the crippled John Corben, who has graffitied the statue with anti-Superman slogans. He publicly blames Superman for his father’s death and is arrested. Clark is shaken and confides in Lois that he’s still trying to make up for not reigning in his powers that day.
While investigating Zod’s ship, Lex discovers and activates a latent AI in the database that identifies itself as the Brain Interactive Construct. When Lex challenges the AI to impress him, the B.I.C. hacks the LexCorp mainframe and solves the issues they’ve been having with a new nano-machine technology. After seeing Corben on the news, Lex bails him out of jail and asks if he’s interested in taking revenge on Superman.
Back in Gotham, Bruce sulks in the Batcave. Alfred pushes him to pursue the hypnosis angle, but Bruce shrugs it off. When Alfred leaves, Bruce returns to watching coverage of Superman.
Back in Metropolis, Clark, Lois, and Jimmy cover a gala to celebrate Lex Luthor’s contributions to the city’s recovery. While trying to conduct an interview, Lois and Senator Finch clash on whether Superman is a positive or negative. Finch notes that Lois seems to be able to talk to Superman whenever she wishes and extends the vicarious invitation for Superman to testify before Congress. Clark finds Bruce Wayne and they have their own conversation. Bruce openly states that Superman could be a bad thing in the long run, while Clark has the same reservations about the Batman. He tells Bruce how relieved he is that Batman seems to be phasing himself out and notes how irritated Bruce becomes.
In the labs below the gala, Lex uses the nano-machines on Corben. The machines quickly go beyond Corben’s legs and begin replacing more of his internal tissues. Corben’s heart gives out from the stress. Lex, at a suggestion from the B.I.C., quickly replaces the dead heart with a generator powered by a chunk of kryptonite. Corben wakes up and notes that he can’t feel anything. Lex says that it’s a temporary side effect and invites him upstairs.
Lex debuts Corben and his new legs as models for a new line of prosthetics. Bruce tries to talk to Corben but is ignored. He mentions to Clark that he hasn’t spoken to him since he left the hospital. He receives a call from Alfred about a hostage situation and rushes out. Lois declares her intent to investigate Senator Finch.
Back in Gotham, Batman arrives at an empty warehouse and finds no hostages. Jervis Tetch appears and plants a miniature hypnosis card in his neck, giving Batman a vision of a world conquered and dominated by Superman. When he comes to, Tetch is gone. Batman returns to the Batcave and decides that all resources will now be devoted to finding a way to stop Superman before the future he saw can come to pass. Hacking into the LexCorp database, he finds files on kryptonite. Several days later in DC, as Corben prepares to testify before Congress, Superman arrives to speak. He and Corben get into a heated altercation that leads to Corben punching Superman in the face… and knocking him across the room. With his new powers revealed, Corben brawls with Superman through the Capital building and across the National Mall. Once Superman gains the upper hand, the kryptonite in Corben’s chest is exposed and weakens him. Before Corben can strike the fatal blow, Luthor arrives and uses a device to render Corben unconscious. He makes a grand show of helping Superman to his feet while the crowd goes wild. Corben is taken back to LexCorp and stored for future use. When Mercy Graves, Lex’s assistant, asks why he didn’t just let Superman be killed, Lex confesses that this was only a test. Lex returns to the ship and, with the B.I.C., begins the process of reanimating Zod’s corpse, using Lex’s own DNA as a trigger.
While watching footage of Superman and Corben battling, Bruce notices the kryptonite and how it affects Superman. Bruce suits up, sneaks into LexCorp, and steals the green kryptonite. On his way out, he encounters Superman. Superman explains that he believes that someone is working against him and he asks Batman to use his detective skills to help him find out who it is. When Batman inquires as to why he’d do that, Superman admits that while he doesn’t necessarily agree with Batman’s methods, he believes that they’re on the same side. Batman disagrees and Superman asks him why. Batman explains the concept of escalation. He tells Superman that when he started operating in Gotham, he only faced the mob and low-level criminals. As the years went by, he began to attract stranger and more dangerous foes. He reasons that Superman’s strength will attract stronger enemies, and worries that Superman will ultimately be corrupted by his own powers. While Superman scoffs at the notion, Batman cryptically warns that he’s watching the Man of Steel for just that very purpose. The two part uneasily, with Superman noting that Batman should trust him “since I didn’t use my powers to see who you really are.”
Lois’ investigations into Senator Finch’s dealings lead her to a link between Finch and Lex Luthor. She and Jimmy confront Lex about his ties to the very anti-Superman senator. Lex explains that what he’s doing is for the benefit of all mankind. Mercy knocks Lois out, but Jimmy barely escapes.
Back in the Batcave, Alfred finds Bruce starting to weaponize the kryptonite. He makes one final plea for sanity, but Bruce angrily declares that Superman must be stopped at any cost. Heartbroken at what Bruce has become, Alfred abandons him. Back at the ship, Lex and the B.I.C. observe the gestating Zod. The B.I.C. warns that if the process is terminated early, the effects could be disastrous. Senator Finch arrives and confronts Lex, suspecting that he intended to have her killed by Corben. Lex laughs the suggestion off and tells her that she’s no use to him dead. Tetch reveals himself and hypnotizes Finch.
Lex brings Lois to the roof of LexCorp and throws her off, summoning Superman. Once Lois has been taken to safety, Superman asks Lex if he’s the one who’s been working against him. Lex stealthily exposes Superman to red kryptonite gas while claiming that it was actually Batman working against him this whole time. Blinded by rage, Superman spies the bat-symbol and blasts off for Gotham.
Batman is waiting, clad in special armor. Using various green kryptonite weapons and tools to even the battlefield, Batman goes toe to toe with the Man of Steel. The two titans do battle across Old Gotham. Superman’s attacks break through Batman’s armor and finally destroy Tetch’s chip with a barely deflected blast of heat vision. His mind suddenly clear, Batman weathers the attack until the effects of the red kryptonite gas wear off. The two quickly deduce that Luthor is behind everything. Superman heads off immediately, while Bruce returns to the Batcave. He finds Alfred waiting and the two reconcile with Alfred revealing the completed Batwing. Bruce dons one of his old costumes and blasts off to Metropolis. Lois has found and convinced Jimmy to join her in investigating the kryptonian ship. They accidently interrupt the resurrection process and escape just as Lex and Tetch arrive. They are confronted by the united Batman and Superman. Lex discloses his entire plan. He intended for Batman and Superman to kill each other, and then release the resurrected Zod to wreak havoc in Metropolis. Using a new power-suit designed by the B.I.C., he would defeat Zod and enshrine himself as Metropolis’ true Superman. Against the B.I.C.’s warnings that the process has been interrupted, Lex completes activates the resurrected Zod. The process has left Zod with chalky, cracked skin and a severely diminished mental capacity. He can barely remember his own name.
Lex: “Well aren’t you bizarre?” Zod: “Bizarre? Zod? Bizarre Zod. Bizarrezod. Bizarrezo. Bizarro! Bizarro!”
Batman tries to use the green kryptonite, but finds it actually strengthens Bizarro. The resurrected kryptonian attacks Superman while Batman pursues Tetch and Luthor. Tetch attempts to plant another device on Batman, but he reverses the attack and uses Tetch’s own tech to overload the chip. Tetch is driven mad and collapses into a laughing, sobbing heap.
Superman and Bizarro battle across the city. Seeing the terrified people, Superman does his best to keep the battle contained to unoccupied areas.
Batman catches Lex and demands to know why the kryptonite didn’t work. When Lex mentions the blue that seemed to have no effect, Batman gets an idea and races back to LexCorp. Bizarro is finally wearing Superman down. As he’s about to strike the killing blow, Lois and Jimmy intervene, drawing his attention. Batman arrives just in time with the blue kryptonite, weakening Bizarro enough that Superman can knock him out. For a moment, Batman considers ended the threat of Bizarro with the mineral, but his morals ultimately win out. Jimmy snaps a picture of the two heroes shaking hands and formally introducing themselves. The headline of the new Daily Planet? “WORLD’S FINEST.”
A montage reveals character fates. Tetch, now calling himself the Mad Hatter, is placed in Arkham Asylum. Lex is arrested but freed when a hypnotized Senator Finch confesses to everything. Superman takes the kryptonian ship and Bizarro to the arctic for safe-keeping. While observing the shell of the only other remaining kryptonian, Superman promises to find some way of helping him.
Back in Metropolis, Superman visits Lex in his office and asks him why he hates him so much.
Lex: “Because you don’t belong here! You’re not human! Your very existence on this planet taints us, pollutes us. You’re stifling our growth as a species! We have grown and evolved for hundreds of thousands of years, and we have done it all without a Superman. I will do what must be done, even if none of THEM can understand. If I have to spend every cent I have, break every oath I’ve ever sworn… if I have to scour the universe to find some way of beating you, then I will do it and I will bring you down! Do you know why? Because I am SUPER. I am super because I wasn’t BORN super. I was born weak, and that makes me strong!”
(Special thanks to Dan Harmon for the main thrust of that monologue)
Superman asks Lex to just confess and save them all a lot of pain. Lex reveals a new ring with a chunk of green kryptonite, assurance that Superman cannot lay a finger on him. After a tense moment, Superman departs, promising to always be there to oppose people like Luthor. The B.I.C., now stored in LexCorp’s database, asks if wearing the ring is wise (due to the radiation.) Lex again brushes off the suggestion. He sits at his desk and asks the B.I.C. if he has any other names. The B.I.C. notes that he was originally called ‘Brainiac.” As Lex remarks that “this looks like the beginning of a beautiful friendship,” he notices a clump of hair falling out of his head.
Batman and Superman have a final chat. Batman reiterates that stronger threats may be coming and the two of them might not be enough. They agree to seek out other heroes, but in the meantime they have each other’s backs. They part as friends, with each revealing their secret identities.
Back in Gotham, Bruce and Alfred share a moment in the Batcave. Alfred hints that his return to the spotlight might have lured back the few uncaptured bad apples. When Bruce asks what he means, Alfred reveals a puzzle box emblazoned with green question marks. They share a smile and get to work.
In Metropolis, Lois tells Jimmy that Superman appreciates his courage and gives him a gift from the Man of Steel; a signal watch to use if Superman is ever needed. Clark, Lois, and Jimmy have a warm moment together before heading out to cover a presentation at S.T.A.R. Labs.
In a mid-credits scene, Brainiac activates himself in Lex’s office and muses about finally being given the opportunity to finish what he started; eliminating the kryptonian race.
In the post-credits, the Mad Hatter is seen ranting in Arkham. As the camera pulls back, it reveals the incarcerated members of Batman’s rogues gallery, all “waking up” and chanting about the return of Batman.
THE END
This gives the DC Cinematic Universe a much more level launching point without throwing every character in the world at us from the very first moment. Wonder Woman is introduced in her own stand-alone film the following year. 2018 sees the release of ‘Man of Tomorrow’ (aka Man of Steel Part 3) and ‘Batman: Arkham Asylum.’
In 2019, we finally see the properly two part Justice League film.

“Woody Sez: The Life and Music of Woody Guthrie” show #789
Tumblr media
The music of Woody Guthrie may stand the test of time, but it was his outspoken nature when addressing issues of injustice and the government that propelled him to the status of American legend. Woody Sez: The Life and Music of Woody Guthrie may appear surface-level in its presentation; complete with nostalgic, good-natured anecdotes and phraseology that almost romanticizes the pre- and post-Dust Bowl period. However, the show itself, specifically where the lyrics and monologues are concerned, is compelling, demonstrating a not-so-easy, laid back life that Guthrie’s tunes may have depicted. Performed with finesse by a quartet of extremely talented performers, Center Rep’s production of Woody Sez… says all the right things audiences need to hear, whether back then or today.

What is a marathon for David M. Lutken is also a decathlon-relay for his supporting trio. Not once do the four performers leave the stage, and it is in Mr. Lutken’s genial, southern, hospitable demeanor which bears the majority of the line load and singing. Mr. Lutken fluidly passes between Guthrie, at all ages, in scene, monologue, and song, while also being the musical’s consummate narrator. Supporting him well are Darcie Deaville, Megan Loomis, and David Finch, all busy most of the show. All the Guthrie standards are present, and even a few more obscure tunes make their way in, in true storytelling fashion. The quartet is phenomenal in displaying their stringed-instrument talents as they play with intimacy and excitement the very songs which made Guthrie the voice of anti-war and radio enjoyment he was. The harmonies these four share are lazy in ease and timbre, though not in precision, which is impeccable. The camaraderie and various characters in Guthrie’s life, which the three supporting players portray, are flawlessly devised and incredibly nuanced.

Luke Cantarella’s scenic design leaves the bulk of the stage open, while being bordered by Guthrie-related images and signs. Having the stringed instruments littered across the stage sets the musical tone immediately, and is instrumental to the flow of the show. Seth Reiser’s lighting design is a healthy mix of mood-setting tones and shadowy pools for Mr. Lutken to deliver the more intimate exposition. Nick Corley’s direction keeps the show moving, embedding an ease to the transitions between vignettes and the 40+ song playlist (don’t worry, they don’t the play the entirety of every song listed).
Tumblr media
(Cast of Woody Sez...; Photo credit: www.kevinberne.com)
With plenty of humor and toe-tapping tunes, Woody Sez… is a marvelously crafted musical homage to one of the nation’s best-known troubadours. From start to finish, this quartet is on fire in delivery and performance, and they will certainly provide you and yours an entertaining time at the theater.

Toronto Affordable Housing List - Group W This is the GTA affordable housing list I started in 1999 for a local activist group who have now dropped it.
                                   I HAVE RETURNED AGAIN
GROUP W PRESENTS EINSTURZENDE NEUBATEN [COLLAPSING NEW BUILDINGS] THE HOUSING LIST
YOU MAY ASK YOURSELF WHO IS GROUP W, WE WILL TELL YOU WE ARE A SMALL GROUP OF PEOPLE WITH
HAIRY EYEBALLS AND VEINS IN OUR TEETH WHO PUT TOGETHER A HOUSING LIST FOR THE POOR. THE LIST
IS ACTUALLY ADS FOR CHEAP HOMES COMING FROM MANY DIFFERENT  SOURCES.
WE DO NOT OWN ANY PROPERTIES, WE DO NOT RENT APARTMENTS AND WE CAN’T FIND YOU A HOME.
WE MAY BE ABLE TO GIVE YOU ADVICE ON SOME MATTERS, IF YOU NEED SUCH ADVICE WE ARE AT hansomemike58@gmail .com.
THIS LIST HAS BEEN COMING OUT IN SOME FORM OR OTHER SINCE 1999 WITH A FEW SMALL GLITCHES. WHEN I STARTED THIS LIST MY MAXIMUM PRICE FOR A 1 BD WAS $700. THIS WAS A FEW YEARS AFTER MIKE THE ASSHOLE HARRIS HAD CUT WELFARE BY 32%. BEFORE THIS CUT PEOPLE ON WELFARE MADE ABOUT $650 A MONTH.SINCE THEN THE GOVERNMENT HAS RAISED WELFARE PAYMENTS FROM 10 TO 15% ,NOWHERE NEAR THE MONEY LOST BY THE HARRIS CUTS.YET I NOW ADVERTISE 1BDS FOR UP TO $900. IF I DID'NT THERE WOULD BE NO POINT TO MAKING THIS LIST AS IT WOULD BE EMPTY.I ADVERTISE ROOMS FOR UP TO $650 AND 1BDS FOR UP TO $900/I KNOW THIS IS FAR TO MUCH FOR ANYONE ON WELFARE TO PAY/MY ONLY SUGGESTION IS FOR PEOPLE ON WELFARE GET TOGETHER AND SHARE APTS OR MOVE TO ONE OF THE OTHER CITIES I PRINT WHERE THERE IS STILL SOME SEMBALANCE OF SANITY. IT IS IMPORTANT FOR POOR INDIVIDUALS TO FIGHT BACK, GO OUT AND JOIN AN ANTI POVERTY GROUP LIKE O.C.A.P.416-925-6939/IF SOMETHING DOSEN'T CHANGE THIS INSANITY WILL GO ON FOREVER.
Note W IS FOR WORKING OR WANKER-A WARNING TO ALL AND MOSTLY THE UNEMPLOYED . ONLY WANKERS DISCRIMINATE AGAINST THE POOR, UNEMPLOYED AND DISABLED.
W CAPITOL LETTERS-ONLY OPTION.  w little letters-would prefer   SAME GOES FOR MALE OR FEMALE PREFERRED.OR ONLY..
SINCE I AM BEGINNING FROM SCRATCH , IT WILL TAKE SOME TIME BEFORE THINGS GET BACK TO WHERE THEY WERE. I WILL BEGIN WITH TORONTO , THEN ADD THE HOTELS AND THEN GET ON WITH OTHER CITIES THAT HAVE RENTS ONE CAN AFFORD.

STORY # 1 IN THE ADVENTURES OF HANDSOME MIKE
IT WAS A GREAT NIGHT, I DIDN'T HAVE TO WORK OR I HAD CALLED IN SICK. ME AND MY LADY BOTH DID A NICE BIG SHOT OF HEROIN. MY POCKETS WERE FILLED WITH BENZADRINE AND WE WERE HEADED FOR A PLACE THAT HAD PLENTY OF ALCOHOL. WE ARRIVED EARLY BUT OUR FRIENDS WERE ALL THERE, ABOUT 20 OF THEM.WELL THE NIGHT WAS GOING GREAT THE MIXTURE OF JUNK BENNYS AND DRINK HAD ME FEELING LIKE I WAS IN HEAVEN, AND THEN I FARTED, NOT A LOUD ONE NOT A STINKY ONE BUT ONE THAT LEFT SOMETHING IN MY UNDERWARE, NATURALLY I HEADED TO THE BATHROOM AND LOCKED MY SELF    IN A STALL. I UNDID MY PANTS TO SEE WHAT THE DAMAGE WAS. WELL I HAD TO REMOVE MY UNDRWARE BUT I WAS WEARING VERY TIGHT JEANS AND COWBOY BOOTS THAT WERE NEXT TO IMPOSSOBLE TO GET OFF, WHAT WAS I TO DO. I REALIZED I WOULD HAVE TO CUT MY UNDERWARE OFF BUT I HAD NO SCIZZORS OR KNIVES. THEN A GREAT IDEA CAME TO ME, I HAD A LIGHTER SO I COULD BURN THE SIDE AND THEN THE UNDERWARE WOULD BE FINISHED AND I COULD GO BACK TO MY FRIENDS. UNFORTUNATLEY THE UNDERWARE WAS MADE OF A MATERIAL THAT IMMEDIATLY WENT INTO FLAMES. I WAS STANDING IN THE STALL WITH MY PANTS DOWN AND MY UNDERWARE ON FIRE. THE FIRE THEN SPREAD TO ANY HAIR I HAD IN THAT AREA, MY DICK BALLS AND BUM WERE ALL UP IN FLAMES, I STAMPED THE FIRE OUT WITH MY HANDS WHICH CAUSED QUITE A BIT OF PAIN, BEING BURNT WAS BAD ENOUGH BUT HAVING TO SMACK MY SELF IN THE BALLS DIDN'T HELP. ANYWAY I HAD ACCOMPLISHED WHAT I SET OUT TO DO. I WENT BACK TO MY FRIENDS AND NOBODY HAD ANY CLUE TO MY BATHROOM ADVENTURE.          SO THE MORAL OF THIS STORY IS SIMPLY ONE SHOULD NOT WEAR THEIR UNDERWARE WHEN IT'S ON FIRE.                                                 THE END

Infamous swatter faces 46 more charges, including bomb threats
Tyler Barriss, an infamous swatter whose actions allegedly led to a man's death, faces 46 new charges. They include allegations he called in bomb threats at the schools of his Halo buddies so they could have a day off, as Wired reports.
Barriss was already facing several charges, including involuntary manslaughter, related to an incident at the end of last year. He allegedly called cops in Wichita, Kansas, claiming to have killed his dad and taken hostages. He seemingly thought the address he gave was that of a Call of Duty player he wanted to swat (a "prank" where a person directs police to someone's home under the pretense of them causing immediate danger to themselves or others). However, it was the wrong house, and when Andrew Finch, 28, opened his door to find out what was happening after cops arrived, he was shot dead by a police sniper.
Barriss was arrested soon afterwards and charged with federal and state crimes -- his involuntary manslaughter trial is set to start January 7th. But Bariss's woes don't stop there, as more charges were laid against him Wednesday.
Federal prosecutors allege that he called in bomb threats to schools, television stations, malls, a Call of Duty tournament, a museum and other locations across the US and Canada. Barriss has been accused of bank fraud along with several unindicted co-conspirators, who were referred to in the list of charges only by their Twitter handles. They also allegedly paid him to swat other people.
His public defender is seeking to have the latest charges, which were filed in California, transferred to Kansas, where Barriss is awaiting trial. Once the case is transferred, he reportedly plans to plead guilty to the charges.
The bulk of the latest charges stem from his alleged actions in late 2017, soon after Barriss was released from prison after almost two years -- he had pled no contest to making bomb threats. He was also charged in May with calling in bomb threats to the Federal Communications Commission during a net neutrality hearing.
As the charges pile up against Barriss, efforts are underway at state and federal level to counter swatting. As of April, swatting in Kansas carries a maximum prison sentence of 41 years after Governor Jeff Colyer signed into law an act named after Finch. Seattle police are allowing potential targets (such as popular Twitch streamers) to add their names to a registry. That way, cops should know to be more skeptical when they're called to those targets' homes. A federal anti-swatting bill was also introduced in June.
Meanwhile, Finch's mother, Lisa, is suing the city of Wichita and several police officers following her son's death, claiming they violated his civil rights. She has accused the police department of acting recklessly on the night he died.
