Static fills the screen as there's a few sounds in the background, followed by a voice that start to be heard.
''H...lo?'' The voice sounded like a female, it soon became clear. ''Hello? Hold on a moment, i'll get it fixed.'' It took a bit few more moment before the screen turned clear and a woman with silver hair appeared.

One thing I dislike about the SDRA2 fandom is the way they treat Yoruko, most people just call her Sora’s girlfriend and leave it at that, and rarely acknowledging her flaws like when she told Yuki to stop crying over Shinji’s death.
I don’t think it is a problem specific to this fandom. I see problems like this, of reducing a character to one-single personality trait and/or backpack for a ship, in every fandom I have ever been in. There is always, unfortunately, at least one character that gets hit with that stick. It sucks but it is unfortunately common.
I imagine that this kind of discussion might have been a matter of timing, as I imagine it would have happened around chapter 4 release and translation.
Another factor that might impact this, is the matter of, when comparing to everyone else plot, Yoruko being the civilian type of character who is minor-ly connected to the situation at hand. That is: Not a Void, Not a victim/murderer who unleashes a subplot, not getting possessed, not amnesiac, not doing crypit actions. I feel that this contributes to, in a way, calling less attention when there are more bombastic/attention-calling scenarios happening.
That said, yeah, there is more of Yoruko than all of this one-note-ness.
(sweating as I answer this quest due to not having the time to rewatch everything)
(Edit: extra sweat over me taking a very long while to answer this due to rewatching chapter 4)
Anyway, back to the subject in question. Flaw discussion ahead
Yeah that you mentioned was fucked up.
I think it usually ends being shrouded due to Chapter 4 having so much things going on already that a small detail like this ends up lost in the sea of bombastic revelations, personality switches, the *grimace* jokes, the anxious and general hopeless tone of the chapter.
My usual interpretation is that this is more Yoruko losing it due to the sheer stress of the chapter. Syobai himself points out in the elevator that everyone is at their limit. I do think it is a manifestation of one of her flaws.
It is also very sad that due to the narrative structure + trial’s twist (Yuki thinks he killed Shinji), Yuki doesn’t get the proper space to mourn Shinji. It gets even sadder in that, due to everything else going on, (Sora trying to not lose it since she acted in a way that either SHE is the killer or made Nikei is the killer + the grappling with what the hell had happened to her body moving unnaturally + what the hell had happened with emotions seemingly being artificially entered in her body; Nikei beneficiates from Yuki losing it; Yoruko having the gnawing suspicion that Sora may have something to do with the murder), no one gives him space to mourn or talk about his mourning.
And then in chapter 5, everything gets worst due to the whole personality insertion and again we aren’t able to dwell on that.
Anyway, sorry, probably not the ask’s point. Going back to the topic.
Disclaimer: I love Yoruko to bits. Flaw discussion ahead.
That said, I would personally ascribe Yoruko’s flaws as something else. That phrase seems to have been said in the heat of the moment, instead of something consistent that happens.
If I had to point a flaw, I would say that it would be her tendency to kind of……glue / lash into people. This happens with Minako, in that Yoruko practically changed her entire life to be around her, gaining a talent in a business she previously had no interest, and then it somewhat happens with Sora, in that as the killing game stakes rise, she glues herself harder to Sora and mostly agrees with her. While, through the game, she learns to call out Sora when she thinks she is wrong (end 4, first part 5), I would say it is a tendency Yoruko has and a flaw.
We can see how this affects her life, in that it destroys her relationship with Minako, due to her admiration blinding her for what was happening around her, and in that it causes her conflict with other people in the killing game for defaulting to side with Sora (who is not always right, as in chapter 5) or talking back against people who either stress herself or Sora.
Related to that flaw, she gets defensive fast, be it as a tsundere characteristic, as lashing like that, or talking rudely to people when she is stressed. Which can and does hurt people feelings. I do think that due to Sora’s personality aka the person who most talks with Yoruko, Sora is able to…… bounce out of it / not be bothered by it, but it would be highly more frustrating and could hurt people feelings.
This…… err…… I am not sure how to phrase it, extreme admiration (?) (in the general sense of Yoruko’s tendency to glueing/lashing herself to a person) blinds her through the game to Sora’s flaws, and so causes Yoruko to not question Sora.
Her tsundere tendencies also impact negatively Yoruko, in that it doesn’t allow her to be more……explicit in what she meant when she fought with Sora in 4, and thus it causes a bigger fight with her that only is resolved mid chapter.
To be clear, I think Yoruko’s fight was valid due to it being both her snapping under all of KG paranoia much like the other characters + Sora’s flaws themselves, in that she was cryptic right after the trial where she revealed she had a role in the murder, and in the way she procrastinated resolving things with Yoruko.
In conclusion, I would say that Yoruko’s flaws would be: her tendency to the hyper admiration of certain people, which leads her to blinding herself to her surroundings and how people are being affected by it; her tendency of not being clear of what is bothering her (as an offshoot of her tsundereness), which causes misunderstandings; and of being defensive/lashing out when under pressure.

Promo: Meeting Iroha |\|¡&¡u€
(Note:This was only made because I was bored and weird sleeping schedule. Just have fun with those chaos.)
P.S. this takes place after the bad ending for Sdra2. Like years after.
--------
Iroha Nijiue. The last Void member there was, other than the mastermind of course, was framed for Teruya Ōtori's death. Betrayed and fooled by her own Boss, Mikado Sannoji. She was executed that day, lost her head to a gaint painting. Her head rubbed away like an human eraser. She didn't want to die. She just didn't want to she abused again.
How lucky was she when she was reborn years later?
--------
You woke up in the year 20 something. You don't know how many years in the future you are, if you even are in the future, but it probably still start with 20. You, like any normal person, ends up walking around this new town after waking up in who knows when. Do you recall? Maybe so, Maybe no. Either way, someone bumped into you and ended up falling onto the ground.
"Sorry!"
It was Iroha Nijiue's voice. Looking at her confirms that it was her, despite being dead. She kept her fair skin, her muted teal eyes, brown hair, bangs, and the fact that she was short. There were slight differences, like she was taller than 149cm; Her bangs covers her eyes now; Her hair fades to gray; She was wearing a simple school uniform, white dress shirt, red bow, and blue pleated skirt; and she had a guitar on her. Not to mention she looks like she had just turned 16.
She looked embarrassed about what happened but she didn't got up, and looked up at you.
Do you help her up?

I haven’t heard anyone talking abt the Morse code in the cinematic before the egg announcement. It’s at 33:32 in this video.
Tumblr media
But this person, Mikado, translated the beginning of it and it’s REALLY interesting!!!
“LOOK FOR A WAY OUT. THIS IS NOT-“
The translation ends there as they couldn’t piece together what was being said over talking and static. I want to continue translating what they started but I’m bad at doing it by ear. If anyone has any idea what the rest of it says please add on to this post!!

Recently we’ve had lots of reasons to look at the relationship that Lily had with the Alicein family over the centuries he spent with them, because it becomes obvious now that it wasn’t all peace and happiness and maybe never even one built on love in the first place. And I’ve been thinking a lot about this interaction from somewhere in volume three:
Tumblr media
Specifically in relation to what we learned about Lily in chapter 136.
Tumblr media
And I know that Lily’s pocket money is a silly, one-off joke made very early on in the series, and that maybe all it wants to say is that Lily is bad at managing money, and that it’s probably not meant to be put parallel to this scene. But that won’t stop me.
Because the jokes Servamp tells are rarely entirely random; and Lily’s pocket money might just as well be one of the many tiny hints we get as to what’s behind the facade of the little vampire paradise Lily built in the safety of Alicein mansion. He’s not allowed access to the family money, and there’s secrets in the mansion that even he holds no key to. Misono teaches Mahiru that a Servamp’s purpose is to fight despite how much his own Servamp dislikes it, and Mikado presides over an organisation famously riddled with people hating Lily’s kind, and maybe, when Misono threw all those books, it was a little more than a slapstick gag. There is a rift between Lily and the core family, one that’s not entirely Lily’s doing, and might have been there for a very long time.
I don’t necessarily think that the Alicein were bad to Lily, or that he was miserable in his place by their side. But I find it striking that if you think about Lily then and Lily now, you find that he never really left the place he was in at the very beginning; never really reached a point at which he could stand on his own. He is no employee earning a wage but a Servamp bound to an Eve; and he struck a deal that demands him wholly and completely and allows for possession; that demands not only his time and workforce but control over him and his power and body. But he’s not treated as an equal in return; he gets pocket money rather than access to the family’s wealth because the actual reward he traded himself away for was safety for his children. As far as we know, at least.
There is so much we have not seen yet, about how the pact between Lily and the Alicein came to be, and how they felt about each other for all those centuries, and I hope canon will explore this at least a little in the chapters that are left before it ends. What we do know is the secluded little kingdom in which they ended up in, and how much it trapped and hurt Misono – and maybe, though he was one of its architects, it wasn’t the most healthy place for Lily to be in either. And maybe, what Misono needs to do to end the chess game and foil his plans is simply to take him away; because he learned to leave and stand on his own and perhaps, it’s time for Lily to do the same.

At least at the end Arata and Miyo grandfather came around to supporting her and helping her go see Kiyoka. They might not be so bad after all despite their flaws. Can’t wait to see Miyo save him using her ability next week.

We really already knew, but now it’s officially confirmed that Mikado, the emperor, is the series’ big bad. Defying him is obviously not going to be easy. Even with one foot in the grave already he can make life very difficult for everyone. This won’t be easy

GUREN ICHINOSE from OWARI NO SERAPH/SERAPH OF THE END
Tumblr media
JUSTIFICATIONS:
"Ichinose Guren was born into a religious Sect which was created five hundred years ago in a political conflict in which two brothers from the main house fought over an Ichinose woman. She had chosen the younger of them and as punishment she and here lover were violeted and disowned. The outcasts created a new sect in their name. Guren is believed to be their saviour, the one destined to liberate the Clan from their oppression, paralleling her role. The main Clan, Mikado no Oni, view Guren and everyone of Gurens family as naturally weak and subservient in a way that clearly mimics patriarchal oppression. When Guren was five years old she met Mahiru Hiiragi, heir to Mikado no Oni. Guren was very obviously jealous of her and their meeting is used to symbolise Guren learning her place in the world. Continously throughout the Guren refuses to give up on Mahiru despite her quite frankly ruining Guren's life and being unable to catch up with her. Guren gives up her humanity to inject a demon all for purposes of protecting her friends and striving to liberate her clan, while also chasing after Mahiru and her power. This eventually leads Guren to cause the apocalypse in a first act of free will. (forced to choose between the strength she desires and her own emotinonal "weakness") Mahiru mends with Gurens weapon taking over as her demon, causing Guren to become a namanari (a half demon made from two separate personalities, Gurens and Mahirus in this case who's human personality slowly starts to adapt the demonic traits). In consequence of this Guren acts all the more feminine when striving to get what she wants (to ressurect all of humanity. I think thats also trans because its a sort of rebirth in metaphor for transition.) Transition could have saved her, as i believe her gender envy for Hiiragi Mahiru caused the apocalypse." - @cannibalfrodo
"im really shit at writing out media analysis i either do it solely in my head or via fic so yall are just gonna have to trust me for this one.
the writer really horribly sucks at writing female characters but it's clear from the start (in catastrophe at 16 most noticeably, but even in the manga too) that guren isn't written like any of the male characters (even the other male protag of the manga, yuu) and much more resembles the female characters. a lot of her personality and identity is heavily sculpted by the traumatizing and pressuring life she's lived so far (being brought up as the head of a scorned branch, beaten by adults for simply being born in the way she was, raised with a lot of crunching expectations, etc). most of her actions in ca16 come from a deep want to please who she's with, or to not cause trouble with herself (#same bestie)—she knows she needs to be a son for her father, for her clan, for their retribution. she knows she doesn't have time to think on her emotions or wants, which is very evident throughout all of ca16 until the final book as more and more shit piles up on her plate and she's forced by her romantic interest, mahiru, to finally confront her "human sin" (which is loving her friends. and also being trans).
she never fully opens up to anyone, this includes mahiru, but nonetheless their relationship IS different (guren is very much like "i love you, you're so much like me but braver, i wish i were you" @ mahiru). in their first meeting again as teenagers she compliments how beautiful and powerful mahiru has grown, and does so multiple times throughout the books, most of which are immediately after her inner monologue beats her down and she goes into great depth on why she's so weak and unworthy (especially compared to mahiru).
she's not allowed to be herself, as a man and definitely not as a woman, throughout all books and manga & i believe that if she came out to her friends (who love her so much and would support her through anything) everything bad she ever does in the future (which i didn't even begin to COVER the main series) could be prevented because she'd be much more happy with herself and spectre in her relationships.
also she experiences the end of the world. truly just a girl in the world" - @9ureshin

Long meandering ramble about isabeau under cut sorry idk what happened
Tumblr media
Ok I wanted to expound actually I do think it’s really interesting how Isabeau isn’t like a “wishy washy” kind of neutral she is really serious and principled about it. Like when you fight her in law (and I assume things turn out the same in chaos, haven’t finished that playthru yet) if you extend your hand to her she takes offense to it + tells you to have conviction in the path you chose to the end despite her being so horrified and appalled by it that she would put down her life to fight you to prevent it from coming to pass.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And in neutral as well after you defeat Merkabah she expresses respect for him in seeing his principles through. I think it’s interesting that she has such high respect for this concept of commitment to a belief, even a destructive one + even when that the belief itself is so fundamentally morally repellant to her. So anyways this is where I get kind of headcanony right. But I was thinking more about this again
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And yeah like she doubly has this thing of coming from a family that has always gone into the monastery as well as being a woman samurai (the level of rarity of this can be inferred by the fact that she’s like, the only female samurai npc iirc) that feeds into this right? Tho it’s conjecture on my part bc we don’t really hear her thoughts on any of this she’s already in this position of being like, an outlier, somewhere she “doesn’t belong” (as she apparently grew up expected to go into the monastery like the rest of her family- it’s a “loss” for the monastery) in terms of her place in the samurai. So I think that’s like .. where her position ultimately comes from. She grew up believing in the good of the kingdom like Jonathan but is in a position where she understands Walters feelings of being hemmed in by her society which I think just like is how I at least understand her character. But her neutrality isn’t just from a place of helpless desperation or an inability to choose its something she really believes in. So this is the part where I insist her love of shoujo manga is actually really important
Tumblr media
so yeah. I thought this was a little funny but the more I think of it it is super interesting how manga is cited as what makes her soul unshakably set against you and the destruction of Tokyo. And I think it’s just that it’s representative of or partly responsible for her genuine love for Tokyo, its art and by extension its people. Like to everyone the “unclean ones” are basically like some ancient historical threat once faced by their kingdom but through finding used copies of Rose of Versailles on the ground throughout the game and it, a product of the culture and people who live/once lived there, it just gives her a level of empathy/respect for them beyond what the others achieve.
Tumblr media
And she just cares about the people a lot yknow. When everyone splits off at shen duque her first worry is about skins and fujiwara. Walter and Jonathan’s motives both are concerned with the fate of Mikado, be it tearing it all down to start over or preserving it by destroying Tokyo (although that isn’t really /Jonathan/‘s motive but you know) but Isabeau is the one who actually wants to help the people of not just Mikado but Tokyo as well. So like “isabeau’s stance is that killing a bunch of people is bad” isn’t like groundbreaking literary analysis im aware. The game tells you that. But all the stuff I said is like In my cute little opinion Why she thinks like this. Anyways I wrote this for no particular reason other than I thought about isabeau and I like her. Sorry. Obligatory “but I’m probably wrong about everything” disclaimer

This is a kinda weird request
Can you do any sdra2 character react male reader who is the ultimate baker and poison maker
In chapter 3, Kanade decided to frame male reader by putting a poison that he know
When Sora reveal that male reader is the ultimate poison maker, he snaps just like Mikan
Male reader only make poison to use on bad people
I don't think it's weird! Dw
Also this is sorta like a general character reaction and not just a single person
........
As the Ultimate Baker, you made sure everyone in the group had some delicious snacks/desserts to keep their energy up while exploring Utsuroshima! Because of your skills, you were permitted to wake up early and make pastries for breakfast in the ship's kitchen.
You were delighted to hear your classmates say the love your food more than Mikado's (although you don't try to discredit his cooking, as he makes pretty gourmet stuff).
Yuri was the only one adamant about accepting anything from you, bluntly asking if you "poisoned" the Russian dessert you tried replicating for him.
That lowkey freaked you out.....until you remembered that he hated men, so you calmed down and brushed off the remark.
However, your initial reaction didn't go unnoticed by Kanade, who wondered why you looked so scared in that moment..
But after some snooping around, she finds out that you carry vials of poison in your bag. And during Yuri's trial, you did have some extensive knowledge of sedatives---nearly enough to rival her own.
How curious.
After being given the third motive, Kanade sets her plan into motion and decides to frame you for the crime instead of Iroha.
She stole a vial out of your bag (replacing it with another glass that contained similarly-colored liquid), recognizing it as an extremely potent mixture that could paralyze someone instantly.
It's better than a stun gun, so she fills up a syringe with the poison and planted the empty glass in the kitchen trash.
The next morning, she executes her murder plot with her sister.
Her goal was to convince everyone that you're the monster who poisoned Setsuka and dismembered her body while she was still alive--not only giving her and Hibiki freedom, but also driving you insane and revealing your darker side.
Plus, with some of the students having witnessed her grab a muffin from you the morning of her death, the blame will no doubt be kept on you for a while.
During the trial, Kanade will "reveal" the empty glass "evidence" and smirk as you become nervous, denying the accusations that you laced Setsuka's food with poison.
But Sora wonders why the hell you'd even carry around poison--a possible murder weapon--this whole time, and could have very well killed everyone if you wanted to.
Cue Monocrow being like "hmm I never thought about a Blackened committing mass murder"
In anger, you blurt out that you'd never use poison to kill random people--only those who you believed were evil and deserved it.
But that just confirms it, Sora states.. you're a poison maker.
Monocrow also confesses that you have two talents officially recognized at Hope's Peak instead of one, which makes you hysterical as you didn't want anybody to find out this.
You can't explain how you could've messed with the gate records or moved Setsuka's remains to the ghost house, which opens up the "double-blackened" theory.
You keep insisting you're innocent, and eventually it holds up when the twins become the prime suspects and the truth is revealed by Sora in the end.
But from there on, everyone's become more and more wary of your food.
Although Iroha trusts you, wanting to keep the peace, so she still asks you for snacks.

UH are we allowed to ask you questions? Cause I have questions on. The Sillies. (Kinjo and Yuki) Like what are your thoughts on their ship? I see you draw Kinjo with DRA Yuki and the real Yuki and I want to know what you actually think about them.. feel free to go off about it but if not you can just delete this hdshhsd
oh yes of course!!! and i do wanna talk about it, gosh i really haven't elaborated my piece about them yet since this is an art blog n i felt a little annoying when i blow up a tag, THANK YOU!! !!!
I also don't see many people talk about post-sdra2 either. this take, im gonna be minty fresh
kinjomae analysis
DRA Yuki
Canon-speaking, Kinjomae was deliberately called back to in both games. Tsurugi fills the role of the queer survivor in dra the way that Yoruko blatantly does in sdra2 (and the protagonist dies) except, it's less obvious as a main couple because of the way linuj writes, and it also doesn't fit the way some people see stereotyped mlm characters.
Kinjo's entire life is a trauma that is so oriented on staying alone, being alone in his suffering and his profession. He particularly killed the men closest to him, (Teruya, Kouhei, threatening Utsuro, and even his father) and seeing those people die around him leaves him numb. I feel like the Yuki of the first game is another unhealthy contributor to the sad cycle of his life, but ALSO remains to be his biggest savior. Kinjo and Akane are the only characters of DRA to have both 5 free-times, their bond has always been THAT highlight level of important.
DRA Yuki tears into this unhealthy string of Tsurugi's life by literally preventing the one time he felt alone the most. In Yuki's perspective, Tsurugi is such a strong figure but still trusting himself to lean on him, it solidifies both of them and forces them to develop their situations even when Utsuro rips through the Yuki facade. They were partners in crime unknowing that one of them was a criminal, omg, they were the dear rabbit, the along came a spider, the jane and john doe,,,
Tsurugi mentions he can't trust anybody but Yuki, Tsurugi gives Yuki a pass at trying to murder him despite his rigid moral. (not without a punch or two, but impressive.) and when Yuki is on the outsides he is the connected peacekeeper to Kinjo VS. Everyone Else. They are there to hold eachother's hands so they can still reconnect onto the border of the group. Like, the way Yuki shouts main character philosophy in chapter 4 at him while he's fighting everyone else brutally at the dinner table, and once again in chapter 6.
(Teruya, then fulfils this goal of reparation with Rei after they leave the killing game, but not on the mental stability side.) Tsurugi is seemingly independant and incredibly uncontrollable due to his detachment, and yet Yuki is able to have a significant part of influence over his life; as well as the deceased Kisaragi pre-killing game.
Yuki IS and will always be the exception to him and no matter how hard he tries to escape it, it follows him till the remainder of his character arc. In the same way, Tsurugi was the kickstarter to Utsuro's new mindset too. It's the "You can't pull the trigger cause you love me", cause that's what Utsuro-Yuki is to Tsurugi. Utsuro may be the most vile villain in the world to somebody who even considered assisted self defense to be a crime on first thought, and then he STILL proceeded to not take that final shot. He didn't hesitate blowing Mikado up, who arguably wasn't the first source of despair.
anyways i think dra yuki-utsuro/tsurugi are integral, important, and good to know your hizstory
he wants me i want him, we went out, then we (YukiUtsuro) DIED!! /ref
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yuki
Tsurugi would move on to be the worst man to cope in the existence of the franchise, and probably hardly ever move on after the death of DRA Yuki. If Yuki was truly dead he'd have two funerals for his two guypals, and spit on Utsuro's grave pretending not to like him. Plus that bad ending where Tsurugi just wakes up in the middle of the night in cold sweat shows what would sort of happen, he thinks about them too much. However,
Yuki was still a concept of a person who existed in the world. He's not gone, he's just someone in a different form, and still is inside the memory of Kinjo's mind that remains deteriorating. He's like, the same dude but he's in the clutches of EVIL!! and he hates evil. (Kinjo seems to catch onto Mikado's plans early on and then it only amplifies in his duty to stop Utsuro and find Yuki.)
Tsurugi's defeatist attitude to fail saving Teruya and Yuki was very much a falsetto because of the Omake 2 and I truly believe Rei was right that this was their agreed purpose.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The real Yuki has none of these shared moments that Tsurugi can look back on together, but if it was just the memories he wouldn't have acted so patronizing to Utsuro. He's affectionately looking back on the person that Utsuro was, which was just Yuki Maeda. Did Homura Akemi decide to go back in time for 10 years just so Madoka could share moments with her?? Absolutely not, and the same goes for Tsurugi Kinjo, who ran an entire organization which later adopted the name of the goal. As Mikado joked, it's "the love of your life" but it's in the most unconventional messy, dictatorial, and murderous way.
Kinjomae absolutely drives the narrative forward on Yuki's side of the story even if it's significantly relegated mostly to the end. Imagine your entire existence leaning on a few people you can't even remember, but they remember you? One dude sacrifices a guy, one girl sacrifices her body. With Tsurugi's final decrees of (semi) unconditional care for you, you finish the trial with this one-sided trauma bond and a promise to keep the survivors safe. Sora takes on all the karmic debt of Divine Luck, and peace returns in an ending that isn't really elaborated on.
ur now a fugitive awesome trans guyboss with superpowers, and you're just absolutely bawling out of your mind at this point. some blue haired dude in a wheelchair is going to die if you don't help him out with your sora-luck.
nobody talks about this enough but this is THE PERFECT set-up for a postgame friendship to develop, not only are they both survivors, this is the genuine Yuki who isn't hiding apart of an Utsuro disguise. He's alive but now in the body of someone Kinjo despised,,, he hates Akane, he refuses to acknowledge her. he loves yuki. But Yuki remembers her fondly and has to take care of the body, but he probably hates himself. not to mention the INTENSE guilt you would get from feeling anything in it or the dysphoria of even wearing/not wearing the clothes she is??? sdra2 so evil?? soruko died so kinjomae could slowburn.
There's nothing Yuki can do now but go on his quest to potentially get along with this man who is homo-erotically trauma bonded to him and got a whole-ass person killed in the process of ending Utsuro and finding the true Maeda., He also has to go atone to Yoruko and the rest of the gang. as you can see i like kinjomae i think they are a foundational element in the story of dra.
unrelated thinking
their suits are completely black and white i find that silly they match
my partner and i did a voiceover of their final freetime one time cause we were feeling quirky.

Genuinely wondering just how much the voids knew about the other contestants real life selves, like, Mikado didn't even know Kanade was a serial killer, he just brought the twins in for their loose connection to Tsurugi.
What really keeps me up at night is; did Emma knew Kokoro was an abusive parent? If she did that just adds a whole another layer to their interactions and Dra chapter 2's case.
Because Emma spent her childhood in an abusive household with her piece of shit father before she was saved by Utsuro and his luck, yet during the Sdra2 Killing game one of the people she interacts with the most is the one that grew up to use her own daughter as a lab rat for her experiments.
Which then leaves the implication that, if Emma knew about Kokoro's real world self, she was acting during the times where she was nice to Mitsume and tried to get her to open up more, because i genuinely can't think she would be that nice to someone who she knows is as bad as her father + it wouldn't be out of character for someone whose talent is acting.
This is such an interesting way to think of their relationship to me, especially when it ultimately ends with Emma killing Kokoro, a victim of child abuse killing a child abuser.
Tho i am inclined to believe Emma didn't know the truth about her since she doesn't seem to bear much hatred towards Mitsume herself in the ch2 post trial, and the anger she does display is potrayed as being because Kokoro triggered her trauma and not anything out-of-simulation related

Random Trains I Found Part 2:
So, I did a Part 1, and now I'm doing a Part 2 because there are many trains, and I enjoy procrastinating on just about everything. With this in mind, here's what I have in store:
Southern Pacific MC-1:
Tumblr media
Ok, so these things were behemoths - 2-8-8-2 American giants which were built in 1908. And while they weren't the most useful engines built on this earth, they lived surprisingly long... as rebuilt cab-forward engines. Yup, the Southern Pacific swapped them around and turned them into Cab-Forward locomotives in the 1920s, having been the basis for the MC-2 and later AC models of Cab-Forward. Not a bad legacy!
SNCB Type 36:
Tumblr media
Big Belgians! This 1909 class of 2-10-0 was built to work heavy freight trains over hilly terrain. And if you know anything about European history, then you'll know this class got caught up in WWI - only, for some reason they ended up in Russia, Poland and Ukraine? The reason for that is that they were sold to Russia to work lines in occupied, standard gauge Austrian territory (and Ukraine?) Five of them were eventually returned by the Poles. The type also influenced the L&YR to design their own 2-10-0... that wasn't built because of the same war.
Royal Bavarian State Railways S 3/6:
Tumblr media
I like these purely because they look fabulous - and they were the second Pacific type in Germany, after their Baden brethren. See, prior to 1920, Germany wasn't served by one single railway, but rather a number of railways built by the nations that preceded the German Empire (which was only founded in 1870). So while Prussia was busy building the P8 class, the Bavarians built this! And annoyingly, I cannot find a model of one anyone, because Marklin won't ship to where I live.
JNR 9700 Type:
Tumblr media
These engines are where we get the nickname 'Mikado' for the 2-8-2 wheel arrangement. They weren't the first 2-8-2's built, but were instead heavily promoted by Baldwin at a time when Japan was very interesting to the Western nations - a Savoy Opera of the same name had premiered in England in 1885, and Emperor Meiji was known in the US as 'the Mikado'. As for the engines? Apart from their part in wheel arrangement history, they were the most powerful engines in Japan when they arrived... but very little is actually known about their careers, only that they were scrapped in 1922.
LNWR DX Goods class:
Tumblr media
For a class built in the 1850's, these engines sure are modern! By which I mean, they built 943 of them, making it one of the largest locomotive classes in Britain and also one of the first examples of standardisation and mass-production. They were also 0-6-0s, had an equivalent tank engine class (the LNWR Special Tanks) and were all gone by 1930, with none surviving. However, considering the first was built in 1858, that is still a 72-year working life. They were rebuilt several times, caused an injunction by private companies when the L&YR bought 86 fresh from Crewe, and were the LNWR's go-to goods engine.
I still want these engines - and I have more I want to talk about in the future. Unfortunately, it's not easy to discover much about engines from outside the Anglosphere due to the lack of translations out there (I have resorted to Wikipedia in other languages, and then google translate). But it makes finding those oddities that much more fun!
And as usual, all images belong to their respective owners.
