In love with the way Kiyoka holds Miyo. It’s so gentle and patient.

My Happy Marriage ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Tumblr media
I absolutely loved this anime!!! And it was on track to get 5/5 stars until the last few episodes. The beginning two thirds of the anime was amazing, I loved the story the characters the animation everything was just 😘 But then they totally dropped the ball ok the last few episodes the Usaba family swooped in with all these goals and did an about face turn around for no apparent reason, they were just suddenly like ya we’ll help you Miyo right after dropping the most random bombshell that the emperor forbid it like 🤔
However! The first part is fantastic and if you ignore the Usaba family nonsense I did love the conclusion between the two main characters. Truly an amazing show!! Would recommend!

**SPOILER FREE* Review - 'Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence
Incredibly light hearted and enjoyable! Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence follows (you guessed it) Cecilia and Lawrence as they serve the village they live in by running the church. Cecilia however has had a huge crush on Lawrence since the day they met and tries her best to get him to notice her feelings without outright saying them.
In other words this anime has the premise down of a typical light hearted romance, which I always enjoy!

I really enjoyed both our main duo and the side characters. I think they were well written in a way that they bounce off each other quite nicely though there's obvious romance going on between the pairs. Abel in particular ended up being one of my favorite characters and I'll admit it left me wanting to know a bit more about him.
I also think it's important to mention It's not often we see anime that follows or revolves around religion. While Christianity is very obviously at the forefront of this one. It's done so in a way that it is presented in a light manner. What I mean by this is that while they do tend to their church duties such as helping those that visit, its never in your face about what their beliefs are. Do not go in expecting Lawrence to suddenly give a spiel about what is a sin and what isn't. So I think the light hearted approach added to its charm.
As far as the romance, this falls in the 'caretaker' type of romance which I don't mind at all! Though some may find their dynamic more father-daughter like they still have their more intimate moments that break them away from that. Fair warning though, Lawrence is incredibly DENSE! within the first episode you will find that out pretty quickly and it carries on throughout.
However Lawrence's denseness is handled well as he doesn't come off as annoying. Whereas other anime will have their male MC blushing furiously from seeing the girl in the pajamas she wanted to show him, Lawrence's types of reactions are centered more on "Oh. They look nice. Anyways let's have breakfast" all said with a warm caring smile. I have a love hate relationship with Lawrence for this to be honest (but it's mostly love).
Diving more into their feelings for each other would be going into spoiler territory, but just know that its a slow burn.
Tumblr media
Overall its a very lighthearted anime, easy to digest in every aspect. It's so simple its hard to find complaints to give. I guess my only complaint was the ending wasn't as satisfactory as I'd hope but I think that may be different for other people so don't just assume I am correct on this.
Final Score 7/10

Gosh dang it. I've already mentioned it but I really feel like Reign of the Seven Spellblades has such POTENTIAL. It sits on the edge of greatness. But I don't think it will get there. It is going to be limited by its medium. This 4th episode was REALLY GOOD! Good animation, good character display. Even the depth of plot so far feels good. But I feel like it could be better, and it has to be restricted by the 22 min 12 episode format. Don't get me wrong, I think they are doing a great job. But it could be better. Now I might have to look into the source material.

Watched Dark Gathering - EP 1
Starting my anime Summer watch with good old horror. Probably one of my anticipated anime releases and I'm enjoying it!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The anime certainly isn't 'OMG THIS IS SO SAKUGA-LEVEL QUALITY!' type but to me it certainly serves its purpose with the average level visual and good sound design. I'm sure the manga is 100x better but lets be honest, a lot of adaptations doesn't always have the same quallity as its sources.

Despite that, I think what makes it entertaining are the characters. The episode introduces us with Keitarou who has the ability to sense supernatural beings, his old friend, Eiko and her ghost hunter of a cousin, Yayoi.
They seem to be your average characters at first, but that ending really threw me out of the loop. Especially for Keitarou and Eiko. Really thought the MC is just someone who wanted to have a normal life instead of being involve in the supernatural but he actually... likes it? Eiko... well she seems to have her own screw loose, have to wait for more episodes.
TLDR: Love it, wil continue to watch it!

“I’m the one who wants you to be here” I’m gonna be honest, I cried. Grown man eats.

Just an absolutely beautiful last half of the episode. After that bitch of a sister triggered her PTSD, Miyo went back into her shell and regressed to her quiet detached self. How thoughtful of her fiancé to reach out to Hana like that. Hana was exactly who Miyo needed to hear from in that moment.
Kiyoka is such a kind and considerate person. Literally exactly what Miyo needs at this point in her life. He was able to deduce the abuse she suffered at the hands of her parents and constantly reassures Miyo at every opportunity. A real man.

What anime are people enjoying this season? I'm definitely watching Horimiya: The Missing Pieces, because that series makes my heart happy and I love it I haven't decided on anything else to watch though (although I still need to finish what I was watching last season...)

"I've never been saved by anyone. You say you will save me, so what do I need to do? Tell me."
"I-I don't think the one being saved needs to do anything. Just... If you'll wait for me..."
"If you tell me to wait, then I will."
Then... please, wait.
I will wait for you.

Of the 11 anime I’m watching this season, 8 of them are sequels, of those 8 anime I’m watching 6 of them in dub. Summer 2023 is truly a weird season of anime for me 😅
